Met Restaurant Amsterdam in Overtoomse Veld

A beautiful restaurant with a terrace overlooking a playground and a lovely view of a peaceful courtyard. I'm still searching for my favorite dishes on the menu. The salmon focaccia was delicious, but unfortunately, it's no longer on the menu – hopefully, it will return. I've found the new menu a bit disappointing so far: • The tiger prawn lacked flavor and was also a very small portion. • The pizza was a bit soft. • The chicken satay looked nice, but the taste was disappointing. • I personally found the bok choy salad far too sweet – I would order something less sweet next time.

Restaurant within the Met hotel. Modern interior and relatively clean. We went during lunch on a saturday, and it wasn't busy. Only lunch available, I believe. Indoor and outdoor seatings available. The lady who served us was really friendly and attentive. Breakfast bun: nice! no sides with it, but it was definitely enough for me who doesn't eat an enormous amount. The whole dish was just really well combined. The creamy alioli sauce + hash brown + avocado + egg in the brioche bun was perfect. The turkey(?) Bacon was a nice touch. The only improvement that I could think of that'll make the dish even better was to have the egg a sunny side egg so the egg yolk is still runny. The egg yolk was fully cooked in the bun, which was a bit disappointing, but the dish was still nice overall. Angus beef burger: a good burger. The burger itself wasn't any different from other burgers - it's nice but nothing different. But the other parts of the burger were really nice and overall the whole burger was quite nice. Came with a side of chips that weren't too dry. The cakes of the days were from the Holtkamp bakery. I ordered a red velvet cake to take away, and the lady who served us was really nice and even wrapped the takeaway box in cling film to avoid any accidents. Overall: I would visit again since the price was reasonable and both the food and service was good.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The portions were not very large, maybe even a bit too small for the price. For starters, we had sashimi, duck breast, and gado gado. The sashimi was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. However, the satay sauce on the gado gado was cold, which made me wonder if that was intentional. For the main courses, we chose veal cheeks, prawn pasta, and deer steak. The prawn in the pasta was cut so small that it was barely visible or noticeable in taste, making me question whether it was actually prawn. The sauce on the veal cheeks and deer steak was very sweet. The waiter poured the sauce directly over the meat, but I would have preferred to taste it first and add it myself. That said, the presentation of the dishes was excellent. One downside was that no fries were included with the main dishes, so we had to order them separately. The fries were heavily seasoned and very salty, which didn’t complement the other dishes. I would have preferred plain fries without extra seasoning. After the meal, I found myself drinking a lot of water at home due to thirst. Overall, a beautiful restaurant with friendly staff and well-presented dishes, but there are some areas for improvement in portion size, flavor balance, and side dishes.

Went here last Friday as a last minute 'taking you out for dinner' surprise and scouring our area for nice restaurants. Its nice knowing a place like this is actually not too far from where I live. The ambiance was very nice, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had the chefs menu which consisted of salmon sashimi, dear steak and tiramisu. We had a really nice complimenting red wine recommended to us that wasn't on the dinner menu. Everything was absolutely delicious! After dinner the man who recommended the wine answered some of our wine-related questions by grabbing some of the bottles they have and explaining things. It was such a great experience! I'm glad we checked out this place, and knowing it is closeby. It seems like a nice bar to pop into for a drink as well. A friend of mine from the UK stayed at the hotel last year, and said the breakfast was also to die for.

The website says the restaurant is open Monday through Sunday. We arrived on Sunday, and apparently, the restaurant is closed on Sundays. I made a reservation through the official website. Even the hotel staff couldn't find the reservation... A very strange story.

Bad food. A genuine review. Despite the nice atmosphere and excellent service, it's definitely not worth returning. Ugly risotto all around, raw, meager pasta, and a dry burger, to name a few. It would have been okay if it were just one of the dishes, but this kitchen doesn't know anything about flavor, texture, or even salt.

We stayed at the Met Hotel, and upon our arrival, we made the fortunate decision to dine in, which led us to discover our favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. We ordered the bok choy salad, mushroom risotto, and veal cheeks. Although we joined the dining quite late, and only one chef was actively working—leaving us with a considerable wait—every dish was worth it, exceeding our expectations and leaving us wanting more. The bok choy salad was refreshing, with a truly unique flavor profile brought together by the crispy chips and the crunch of the bok choy. The mushroom risotto was creamy, bursting with flavor, and perfectly executed with a delicate texture that made it nearly impossible not to take another bite. The veal cheeks were outstanding, with incredible texture and flavor, though the potato on the side felt slightly confusing. We spoke to the server about the chef and learned that he is Italian, drawing inspiration from American and other European cuisines. While the service was slow due to the single chef in the kitchen, we didn’t mind, as the quality of the food made up for the wait. We had hoped to enjoy another meal at the restaurant on our last night at the hotel, but unfortunately, it closed early.

Stayed one night in this beautiful hotel. The burger from the restaurant was probably the best one ive had. The beds are amazing and to top it off the shower was also great. So happy i decided to book my last night in Amsterdam there!

smoked duck breast was super tasty, coffee fantastic, good pizza, Mitchel was the best and got us everything we needed with a smile. Only came to dine and drink, not stay. But, would come again just for the privilege of excellent service and tasty food.

We had a great dining experience at this hidden gem in Amsterdam. I ordered the Deer Steak, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor—one of the best meals I've had in a while. We also had fries, nicely seasoned, with a fresh and tasty aioli. The broccoli on the side was well-prepared and delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was attentive, and the overall vibe made it a very pleasant evening. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re in Amsterdam.

The food is really good but unfortunately not the waiters. If they don't like you for unknown reasons, they will not serve you until the manager has to step in to ask them to serve you. They will then proceed to speak really fast and condescendingly, hoping that you will not understand because you're a foreigner. Lastly, they will talk with their colleague about you IN FRONT OF YOU. Truly, the worst experience we ever had in any restaurant, let alone a high standard one.

Located away from Amsterdam city center, towards the Gruzenvald district (line 13), this restaurant with a cozy chic setting offers gourmet cuisine at good value for money. The welcome and service were also there during my visit. The restaurant has an outdoor terrace to sit down for an aperitif.

The Met Restaurant was fantastic. I would classify it as a hidden gem because it's outside the city center and attached to the Met Hotel. They don't have an extensive menu, but they have an eclectic mix. The Tom Kha soup was the best I've ever had. The Jewel Salad with fried chicken included apple slices, almond slices, pomegranate and amazing croutons. It was out of this world, the margherita pizza was light and tasty, with the most delicious crust. The ambiance was intimate and cozy. We were intrigued with the one and only one chef who appeared to prepare every dish that went out. He was so detail oriented, it felt like everything he cooked was made with love. Our server was super nice, born and raised here in the Netherlands. We thoroughly enjoyed exchanging our perceptions of each other's countries. All in all, a super experience. We'd love to come back.

Food was delicious! I had the Chefs menu which is a 3 course meal which changes every now and then. Especially the first and second course were fantastic. Service is also amazing. Would definitely come again.

We've been here several times now and today we booked the 'Mothersday Brunch'. Well, well, well, it didn't disappoint. There was an abundant amount of food and what we couldn't finish, got wrapped up really nice, so we could enjoy it later that day in the park. No food waste here. Staff is always friendly and quick, but never rushed. One can only achieve such, with great management. Whether you have a meeting here or just need a place to work, this is a recommendable location. Almost all areas have sockets to insert your laptop cables and there is free Wifi. The oatmilk cappuchino is also delicious and there is bottomless flavoured water available at the reception desk. If I speak for the regulars, I hope the menu will change from time to time. They also offer some family games to play, it's clean & tidy and the atmosphere is really relaxed due to the way it's decorated. Plants, emerald green velour couches, with wooden and golden accents. A true welcome hidden gem in Nieuw West. Thank you for the beautiful (thorn-less) long roses. They even thought about a "Thank you"-card on the roses. Such an eye for details. Makes this mother's day extra special.

I have been living next door years ago and i never thought such a cozy place exists in my street. Fantastic in all aspects, food, music, sphere and service. Definitely recommended. I will absolutely come more often over there.

After reading good reviews and the fact that this restaurant is close to home, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was largely unsuccessful. The serreno croquettes were tasty, but very expensive for 3 pieces. The toast that came with it was extremely hard and chewy. The pasta we chose was cheap compared to the croquettes, but lacked flavor. This was the first time I've eaten pasta that tasted like nothing (besides the taste of the basil on top and the taste of the spaghetti itself). The red wine served tasted as if it had been open for several days. The restaurant also lacks a working order system. We ordered via the QR code, as indicated, and paid for it immediately. After half an hour we wondered where the food was and she told us that they had not received any order at all. Furthermore, there were guests on the terrace who played music via their telephone (the restaurant itself had music on) and they were not confronted about this by the employees. In short, a special experience and definitely not worth repeating.

Pendant notre séjour de 5 jours à Amsterdam, nous avons essayé quelques restos tantôt style, tantôt cher, tantôt pas terrible, tantôt surévalué. Ici c'est tout le contraire, le resto est un peu perdu en dehors du centre ville, mais rapport qualité prix, c'est autre chose. Bien décoré, délicieux, accueillant, propre et au niveau de prix juste parfait. Vous ressortez avec le sentiment d'un très bon moment, dans vous être ruiné. Une soirée délicieuse. Merci

Last sunday me and my girlfriend booked the boozy brunch at the Met Restaurant in Amsterdam. Wow! What a great deal that was! The ambiance at the Met is luxurious and the food was outstanding. All made with fresh ingrediënts. It was more than we could eat. The Met is an undiscovered pearl in Amsterdam and I can highly recommend it!
