Mickey Brown's in Wijk 00 Centrum

One of the few cafes offering cold drinks and ice coffee. Food is always good and a big selection of sweets and cakes they order. Always coming back there for chill coffee.

From the pluses is location and friendly staff. Half of my order they simply forgot, but later when I asked about it, apologised and made the second half. Coffee was weak and not tasty, frappe very sweet and low on flavour, banan cake - sweet and hard. I wanted to order one of the smoothies but all from the menu were not available, they could offer only seasonal fruit smoothie that was not written. Why do you show menu if you dont have any positions in it? The worst part was that they serve everything in plastic, no porcelain cups, no spoons, no plates - and you pay extra for their choice. There is also no option to separate garbage in their place, so everything goes in one bag. There is a big room for improvement, but for now I would not come back.

Great food and the cappuccino is also very good.

My friend and I went to the Friday market and browsed H&M. We wanted to grab a coffee, and surprisingly, we both ended up at the same place! You can use the restrooms after making a purchase, but it was quite crowded; we just followed the queue to get in. The staff were pretty and friendly. We each ordered a hot cappuccino and an iced latte. We sat and chatted, enjoying the afternoon. In Lanaken, Maastricht will be a city I visit often.

Good place. The coffee was good and the staff was friendly. Nicely shady and cool in the heat, and dry on the terrace when it rains.

I got a stomach ache after eating cake and having coffee. The cake was also very cold, as if it had been frozen solid, and €5 for that is outrageous. The outdoor seating is quite nice. But unfortunately, I won't be going back for food and drinks.

For these prices and service, it is ridiculous that everything is served in plastic. If you can sit down somewhere, you expect to get a normal cup or glass. Moreover, the plastic fork broke off on the cake base. The advertising signs outside are misleading because they show glass and plates. The tea quality is fine, though.

The chai latte was too sweet and tasted like it came from a store. The place is cool, but incredibly noisy and crowded. Tables weren't cleaned. There are better places in Maas.

Friendly staff. We asked if they could warm up our baby's food, and they were happy to oblige. I really appreciated that, and thank you for that. The coffee was also delicious.

Lemonades are not natural, not very good quality. They only have single-use cups, even for order's in place. Only one toilet, long queue to enter. They are properly staffed and are fast, at least.

Staff is friendly but the coffee and desserts were simply disappointing. Coffee was slightly watery on par with coffee from a vending machine. Considering the prices they charge this place is not recommendable at all

We went there to get a cup of coffee during the busiest hours of the weekend. The queue was a bit long, but they served quickly and with a smile. Plus point: the coffee tasted superb. They have tables for dine-in and also offer take-away. They have a wide variety of pastries, and I’d love to try more and dine in next time. (I’m not sure if they serve anything other than coffee and pastries.)

The food was good, but nothing spectacular. I expected the portion to be slightly bigger and on actual plates with real cutlery. So the experience is closer to a fast food place rather than a café. The service was very fast and kind.

You could drink coffee and such and eat something at your leisure

Everything is served in plastic. Coffee comes in a plastic cup, plastic cutlery. Pancakes are not tasty, come from the freezer, and are served in a paper container.

The amount we paid for what we got was ridiculous. More than €5 for a regular hot chocolate that looked small and tasted like slightly warmed-up Cécémel. And the chai? It just tasted like syrup and milk. The red velvet cake was also disgusting — dry and flavorless, except for the overwhelming taste of sugar. It clearly wasn’t fresh; we couldn’t eat it. To top it off, we had to pay a “plastic extra cost” per drink even though there was no option to be served in proper mugs. No table service. The waitresses didn’t look too happy to be there either — maybe overwhelmed, probably underpaid. Avoid at all costs if you want decent quality for your money.

To have 5 stars it would only need to be gluten free.

The waffles are taken out of the bag and only warmed up and taste half raw I was very disappointed

We tried the red velvet cake and the chocolate muffin both were fresh and really delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful, perfect for a coffee break.

Great selection of visually appealing delicacies Unfortunately, the taste was a disaster The red velvet cake was so dry you could smash slices with it, and the sandwiches were so hot you burned your mouth and tongue, and unfortunately tasteless. The iced latte was made with room-temperature milk, meaning while I waited for my bread to cool, I also waited for my coffee to get colder, which would then be watered down by the ice cubes. It was served on cardboard and in plastic, despite the fact that we ate there. Bottom line: an expensive disappointment because the prices are exorbitant.

One of the most delicious cappuccinos I've ever tasted. My daughter couldn't finish the muffin, so we got a doggy bag to take it home. Excellent service.

Terrible service from the cashiers. I ordered a frappella. And after 20 seconds, I asked for soy milk or almonds since I don't have regular milk, and they told me no. No empathy, they called the boss to tell them to give me my money back. I ordered another drink, and they didn't hurt me. Terrible service. 0/10

Everything looks attractive but is only available in plastic... You don't drink good coffee from plastic. There are also seats, so it is not a takeaway business. Cakes are also served in disposable packaging... unattractive and outdated. The prices are also not bad

The drinks were tasty, although really unhealthy choices. I got mad though cause they serve on plastic cups for which they charge the customer 0.10€ more. It's your decision to serve this way. Why do I have to pay for it on top of the price? Also, there is a single toilet for all customers.

Prima koffie voor to go. Het was wel wat druk dus een beetje zoeken naar een tafeltje, maar we werden vriendelijk en snel geholpen.

A great little café with a pleasant atmosphere. I enjoyed my visit for my morning coffee and a toasted sandwich and would return again.

Die Kaffeebar liegt zentral im Herzen von Maastricht im Mosae-Forum, nicht weit vom Markt und den hübschen Innenstadtgassen. Ich hatte einen normalen Cappuccino und eine kleine Schokoschnitte. Beides war lecker, der Cappuccino hatte einen guten standfesten Milchschaum. Bezahlt habe ich € 6,60, was ja mittlerweile ein regulärer Preis ist. Der Laden bietet neben Kuchen, Cupcakes etc. auch Foccacia, Sandwiches, Waffeln und weiter Snacks an. Man kann drinnen im Shop aber auch im Außenbereich des Forums sitzen. Ein Punkt Abzug muss sein, da der Kaffee nur in Pappbechern serviert wird. In einer schönen Tasse wäre es nachhaltiger und noch geschmackvoller. Ich komme wieder.

Busy location. Wide range of coffee and pastries, but in my opinion a bit overpriced. Took 2 pastries that looked bigger in the display case than in real life. Both the decaf latte machiato with oat milk and the pastry tasted delicious. The location offers space for up to 20 people and there is also a terrace with seating outside. There is only 1 toilet for both ladies and gentlemen, which means you have to wait for your toilet. Highchairs are available. Since it is located in the center, there are no parking spaces nearby. You can pay by card or cash.

Very good coffee in all kinds of varieties and very tasty compartments. That brownie cake is highly recommended, but the different cheesecakes are also great. I'll do that again.

Staff are more concerned with themselves than with the customers. Someone had dropped a bag of chocolate milk, no help was offered to help clean up, even though there were 3 of them, they just looked at it. Not even offered water or a rag to help clean up.🙈

Macchiato needs improvement imop

I'm in Maastricht for a weekend. We come across this place and I try a chai with vanilla and honey. Really delicious! The staff was polite and I sat quietly on the terrace with my dad. Tried something new again. Definitely worth a visit again <3

They advertise wonderful waffles and if you want to order one, they aren't available. A bit disappointing.

Very expensive coffee with pastries that are either undercooked or overbaked. Coffee is extremely strong. Latte macchiato was stronger than the average cappuccino. 3/4 of the staff were busy with themselves and just barely shouting at each other behind the counter, so the girl who helped us could barely understand us and had a lot of difficulty taking orders. She was not helped by her fellow colleagues. Not recommended

Ordered 5 iced coffees that came with 2 ice cubes each. Coffee was warm within the first 3 minutes. Asked for more ice and didn’t get any, then proposed to buy ice and still got declined. horrible service for the customer from the manager.

The Waffle tasted real flat and was covered thickly in powder suggar to cover it up. The Dirty Chai gave my Wife and me a stomach ache. The blueberry muffin was ok and also the yogurt. Would not recommend…

The café is located in the middle of Maastricht on the market and the employees were very nice. For me personally, however, the price/performance ratio is not right here.

Waffles and pancakes are not fresh but come from the freezer. Not tasty, especially for that price. Poor service that served the wrong waffle and pancake twice. We won't be coming back here again.

The prices are a bit high but the quality of the coffee makes up for it. The staff were nice and quick to prepare our order. The food was okay but the bacon and eggs sandwich was definitely lacking. Overall a decent establishment and I do recommend to stop here if you're looking for a nice treat.

Very weak coffee... Too bad, while we are sitting here I am writing this review, we are drinking a cup of warm milk with a very light coffee flavor, 3.50 euros each... Complaint passed on to the staff, they do not want and cannot do anything about this , just file a complaint with the boss via a review, here you go... Rarely have I had such a poor job for twice 3.50 euros, we are probably not the only ones, do something about this...! A disappointed customer…

They have very good sandwiches here. They made a mistake with our sandwich and resolved it very well. Nevertheless, the sandwich was delicious. The lemonades are also very tasty. And friendly service!

I am also from Maastricht and if I want to drink coffee I often sit here with my husband. Location is nice and also nice atmosphere. The coffee is very tasty. Management is also nice to us. One of the better coffee locations in Maastricht center.

We had breakfast with the whole family. Huge selection of cakes, rolls and yoghurts. Drinks selection great and everything for normal prices. I can only recommend that you always have breakfast here. 😃

You have to drive for a while, but when you get there, definitely check out this coffee location... And certainly not unimportant for a good double espresso at a good price (€3.90) or an iced coffee (see photo) and that was good strong. In addition, and I'll be honest, I didn't take one, a display case full of sweets, but also various sandwiches... Just outside the center, a short walk away in a shopping center...
