Très belle expérience dans ce restaurant que nous avons découvert lors de notre séjour à Rotterdam. Accueil sympathique, plats savoureux et bon rapport qualité prix. Je recommande vivement.

Nous ne savions pas où aller manger et nous sommes restés à l’hôtel au mio papa. Nous avons eu un très bon service . Le repas était excellent pour tout les trois . Je vous recommande sans problème

Delicious aperitif with antipasti board for 2 people. Off the menu tagliatelle with truffle and beef tenderloin from a Parmesan cheese served at the table, on the recommendation of Pèpe. The interaction between Ozzy and Pèpe was hilarious, and the gentlemen gave us a nice evening. We will gladly come back ❤️

Attentive staff, good food, good service. Atmosphere a little less after the renovation, somewhat impersonal. Price of Jopen IPA has increased from €8 to €10.50. But Jopen was nice again today.

Have been staying and eating in this hotel for the last 5 months. For me the only reason I kept coming back was the staff and atmosphere. Being away from home so much it’s actually felt like home away from home. This is a really friendly place to stay with great food and great service. Honestly can’t recommend this place enough. Having a few drinks at the bar and a good chat when you solo travel really helps make this a brilliant stop over.

We wanted to come here for dinner with a gift for you voucher. We had to make a reservation by email or telephone. Email sent, no response. Called, “oh that's not necessary, you can just come by”. But when we got there it wasn't possible. We should have made a reservation… went out again without eating. We are going to choose another nice tent

We spent 4 nights in the ART hotel, this restaurant is located in the hotel but has a different owner. The breakfast was excellent for 4 days, lots of choice and everything nice and fresh. We ate in the restaurant 3 evenings, the food was just very good every evening. The staff was very skilled, friendly and knowledgeable. The menu has an Italian atmosphere, which is reflected in the many dishes. Definitely recommended, I can't say anything else

The food was really horrible and overpriced. The carbonara was just plain noodles with heavy cream and bacon, which wasn’t even guancale and there was no egg in it at all. Was completely different than on the menu. The risotto was just normal rice mixed with canned mushrooms and garlic. Horrible. And the drinks are overpriced as well. The table next to us ordered beer and when the beer was empty the waitress took it and poured the rest in the new beer. No knowledge at all… . I can not recommend the place at all. Far away from Italian cuisine!

You don't have to come here for the food. It's very simple and way too expensive for what you get. Ozzy's service and the atmosphere were excellent. The card states that they take allergies or intolerances into account. This is absolutely not true! Due to a lactose intolerance, I asked if the pizza could be made without mozzarella but with parmesan cheese because I can tolerate this. Waiter Ozzy wanted to arrange this with the kitchen, but an older gray waiter said that this was impossible. It seems quite simple to replace the cheese, but they did not want to think about what would be possible. I was told the only safe thing I could eat was Penne Arabatia. I have never experienced this in any restaurant that reacts so poorly to an intolerance. Usually they think very flexibly about what is possible so that I can eat something to my liking. The breakfast (€17) was very extensive and good. The atmosphere and service by Ozzy were excellent and made up for a lot. Next time I stay in this hotel I will definitely go to another restaurant!!

The waiter Ozzy is a kind person, but to be honest the Italian cousine is missing out to be honest. No fresh products without barely any taste. After leaving 3/4 of all dishes on the table and mentioning it Ozzy said basically shit happens and didn’t asked if we would like something else. I’ll give the food 1/5 and the service 3/5. They compensate with limoncello, but never asked for and extra alcohol.

Ordered cacio e pepe but it tasted as if it were jusg spaghetti, Parmiggiano, and sprinkled black pepper on top. Really disappointing for the expensive price. Atmosphere was nice and service was ok

Papa Mio is a great restaurant with good quality food, but we were offered water and it turned out to cost 6.50. If you offer water I think it's free. There was a waiter who was a bit too much of an entertainer, but we just wanted to eat together.

The food was delicious and the menu was very extensive! The staff is very friendly and speak good English and they try very politely in Dutch :) The restaurant has a very modern design. We slept in the hotel and also had the breakfast buffet in the morning. There was a wide choice and the price/quality/quantity was good (€17 pp)

Gisterenavond besloten we een avond uit te besteden aan een diner bij Mio Papa. Lekker makkelijk, omdat ze immers in ons hotel gevestigd zijn. Met een tafeltje om 18:00 uur, ruim 2,5 uur voor de aanvang van ons concert. We dachten: genoeg tijd voor een rustig diner en daarna op ons gemak naar het concert. Wat hadden we verkeerd! Na het bestellen om 18:15 begon de tijd tergend langzaam voorbij te kruipen. 19:00 uur en nog geen bord in zicht – onze hongerige ogen keken ondertussen steeds meer verontrust naar de klok. Ook om ons heen werd weinig eten geserveerd bij andere gasten. We gaven het nog even de kans, maar tegen 19:15 was de spanning te snijden: zouden we eindelijk het bord met onze maaltijd krijgen of zouden we te laat komen voor het concert? Met een lichte paniek in de ogen gingen een van ons naar de balie. Daar kregen we schouderophalend als uitleg dat het "druk was" en "iedereen tegelijk wil eten vanwege het concert". Natuurlijk, want wie wil er nou niet binnen een uur na het opnemen van de bestelling lekker gaan eten? Eerlijk gezegd leek het meer een geval van een keuken die de drukte niet aankon. Toen ik bij het ontbijt in de keuken keek zag ik slechts 2 4-pits gasstellen en een pizza oven. Onze zorgen over het missen van het concert werden steeds groter – we zaten al bijna 1,5 uur op onze stoel en het leek er niet op dat we ooit nog een hap zouden krijgen. Maar hey, het is niet zo dat we haast hadden of zo… Oh wacht, we moesten eigenlijk op tijd naar een concert! Gelukkig, om 19:30 uur kwam dan eindelijk ons eten. De ravioli die één van ons had besteld, was een beetje de ‘Mio Papa’-versie van een minigerecht: vijf stukjes pasta die op een bord lagen in een flinke schep saus. Als dit een gerecht was om je honger te stillen, dan had je beter een zak pepernoten bij de Jumbo kunnen kopen voor een kwart van de prijs. Voor een restaurant dat zo stoer Italiaans klinkt, hadden we wel wat meer verwacht – dit was immers meer een amuse dan een maaltijd. De ribeye, die ik als rood hadden besteld, werd echter medium done geserveerd. Niet de wereldramp, maar als je je zin hebt gezet op een sappige, bloedrode steak, is een medium done ribeye niet echt de jackpot. Het vlees zelf was overigens prima, maar helaas zonder het genot die je van een perfect bereide steak verwacht. We kunnen niet anders dan concluderen dat de ervaring bij Mio Papa een beetje een ‘komisch drama’ was. We zaten daar dus al 2,5 uur vóór ons concert, maar met de service die ronduit traag was, kregen we het idee dat we ons diner waarschijnlijk pas in de zaal zouden kunnen opeten. De sfeer was vriendelijk, het personeel leek hun best te doen, maar het leek een beetje alsof de keuken niet wist hoeveel tijd er in een uur zit. Voor de volgende keer kiezen we misschien voor een restaurant dat iets beter in staat is om de drukte aan te kunnen en ons zonder stress te voorzien van een maaltijd, zodat we het concert wél ruim op tijd kunnen halen. Want eerlijk gezegd, als je een concert gaat missen door een ravioli van vijf stukjes, dan weet je dat het tijd is voor een ander plan.

Last night we decided to spend an evening having dinner at Mio Papa. Nice and easy, because they are located in our hotel. With a table at 6:00 PM, more than 2.5 hours before the start of our concert. We thought: enough time for a quiet dinner and then leisurely to the concert. We were wrong! After ordering at 6:15 PM the time started to creep by painfully slowly. 7:00 PM and not even a plate in sight – our hungry eyes were looking at the clock with increasing alarm. Also little food was served around us to other guests. We gave it a chance, but by 7:15 PM the tension was palpable: would we finally get the plate with our meal or would we be late for the concert? With a slight panic in our eyes, one of us went to the counter. There we received a shrug of the shoulders as an explanation that "it was busy" and "everyone wants to eat at the same time because of the concert". Of course, because who wouldn't want to have a nice meal within an hour of taking the order? To be honest, it seemed more like a case of the kitchen not being able to handle the crowds. When I looked in the kitchen at breakfast I only saw 2 4-burner gas stoves and a pizza oven. Our worries about missing the concert were growing – we had been in our seats for almost 1.5 hours and it didn't look like we would ever get another bite. But hey, it's not like we were in a rush or anything… Oh wait, we actually had to get to a concert on time! Fortunately, at 7:30 PM our food finally arrived. The ravioli that one of us ordered was a bit of the 'Mio Papa' version of a mini dish: five pieces of pasta on a plate in a generous spoonful of sauce. If this was a dish to satisfy your hunger, you would have been better off buying a bag of gingerbread nuts at the Jumbo for a quarter of the price. For a restaurant that sounds so coolly Italian, we expected a bit more - after all, this was more of an appetizer than a meal. However, the ribeye, which I ordered as rare, was served medium done. Not a world disaster, but if you're after a juicy, blood-red steak, a medium done ribeye isn't exactly the jackpot. The meat itself was fine, but unfortunately without the pleasure you expect from a perfectly prepared steak. We can only conclude that the experience at Mio Papa was a bit of a 'comic drama'. So we were there 2.5 hours before our concert, but with the service being downright slow, we got the feeling that we probably wouldn't be able to eat our dinner until we got to the hall. The atmosphere was friendly, the staff seemed to be doing their best, but it seemed a bit like the kitchen didn't know how much time is in an hour. Next time we might choose a restaurant that is a little better able to handle the crowds and provide us with a meal without stress, so that we can make it to the concert well in time. Because honestly, if you're going to miss a concert because of a five-piece ravioli, you know it's time for a different plan.

Definitely a top restaurant, great service by staff with a passion for good food and drinks. Don't forget to admire the toilet and try the cheese board.

I want to premise this by saying that we are all italian and were there to celebrate a gradutation. The location itself was lovely, located inside the art hotel in Rotterdam south (Maashaven). I particularly enjoyed the lighting and upholstery as it made the whole area feel warm and romantic. Definitely perfect for a first date but also a relaxing dinner with family or friends. Service was also good, with warm, kind and patient people. Food came out quite quickly. What we ordered: Cacio e Pepe, Carbonara, Risotto alla Milanese, Fried Calamari, panna cotta, and banana split. Spaghetti aglio e olio were alright. Taste was flavourful and the spice level was perfect. Risotto alla Milanese. First of all, the rice was overcooked, lacked flavour and salt, wasn’t creamy enough which means the creaming (mantecatura) process at the end wasn’t done correctly which left the risotto quite liquid and unpleasant. The taste of saffron was there but not intense enough, which could also be seen by the color of the rice. Cacio e pepe was NOT a cacio e pepe. From the smell, you could catch the scent of pecorino (probably because it was sprinkled on top), but upon tasting it the only flavour coming through was Parmiggiano. I am intolerant to bovine products (Parmiggiano is naturally lactose free so I can have it) and it was definitely present inside this dish, perhaps through butter, as I was sick shortly after the meal and am still recovering. Upon ordering, i asked the waiter whether there was any cream or butter inside the dish and was assured that it contained none. Clearly they were mistaken The Carbonara was unacceptable. There was barely any trace of egg yolk and was doused with cream, which obviously hid the flavour of the cheese. Furthermore, more pepper should have been used as this is a CORE aspect of carbonara. The choice of pasta for the above mentioned dishes was atypical. Thinner than what one would expect from an Italian restaurant. The calamari were actually really good. Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked and moist. Combined with the sauce, it really brought out the flavour of the dish. The Panna cotta was delicious and highly appreciated by the whole table. The banana split reminded us of our childhood, the flavour profile was balanced and we devoured the whole plate. Overall the atmosphere was really pleasant and perfect for our celebrations but we were a little led down by the food. Perhaps we chose the wrong entrees as the calamari were really tasty and the meat dishes we saw on other tables looked really good.

We came there with our 2 children. The service was excellent, they take the time for you and make the children smile. The food was quite good. Everything was clean and luxurious.. we will go back for sure.

Delicious food and great service! During our stay during the hospitable Rotterdam expo, we stayed at the Art Hotel. That's how we ended up at restaurant Mio Papa on the first evening, where we were so satisfied that we ate there that evening. The food is exactly what you would expect from Italian food: not too complex but great combinations with very good ingredients. In addition, the service provided by the staff is excellent. They bring conviviality and you will be served at every need (Ozy beautifully demonstrates Italian hospitality!). I can absolutely recommend it!

My girlfriend and I had booked two nights at the Art Hotel and had a delicious dinner and breakfast here. Good pizza and extensive breakfast buffet. Nice restaurant, good price and especially the colleague who helped us (I think Oguz is his name) did a great job!

The venue is large and the seats are comfortable. Paying by swiping a card, there is an additional bank fee, but it is not explained in advance, which is puzzling? For meals, there are a wide variety of cheeses and breads. For eggs, you can choose from poached eggs, scrambled eggs, or omelette eggs at the hot food counter. Breakfast per person: 17 euros, 7-11am.

Ate here with "the Fork". Attractive restaurant in the hotel. Very friendly service (Oguz). We recommend the lamb chops and the truffle carpaccio. Definitely worth repeating!!

This restaurant is highly recommended if you fancy pizza or pasta! We have been here twice now and everything tastes delicious. The furnishings are also perfect. You can also order delicious cocktails here and the tiramisu is the tastiest we have ever eaten. Staff is also friendly. 5 stars and see you soon!

Beautiful, chicly decorated restaurant in a hotel. Delicious, truly Italian dishes. The pizzas are great, with lots of tomato sauce and good toppings. And especially the tiramisu is of incredible quality! There are many staff around who want to please you. I think the poorer reviews are from before the upgrade that was recently done.

A good and practical restaurant for those staying at the hotel. The food was tasty and came in the perfect quantity. Whoever served us was also friendly and knew how to speak English. The space is very pleasant and welcoming.

Had to wait over 2 hours for our food. Only ordered a main course, chicken satay as shown in the photo, not a culinary tour de force. When asked if we could have a drink on the house because it was taking so long, we initially laughed. Later we asked for the manager and he offered us a drink.

That evening we were there to attend a concert at Di-Rect in Ahoy, we had also mentioned this when ordering from the menu, 90% of the hotel and restaurant guests were concert visitors, the music was immediately turned on. But after 1 hour still no starter... The support program started in Ahoy in 45 minutes, so we canceled the starter, but after 5 minutes the starter still arrived! We refused this and asked for the starter because we had indicated it twice to 2 waiters, 1 of whom spoke poor English. When nothing came after 20 minutes, I asked what the intention was, it was now 7:20 PM, we had ordered at 6:05 PM. Haven't eaten anything yet. Whether we were going to pay, whether we could get the main course, then a waitress said that they were understaffed, I said, then they better not take so many reservations, on a day when the hotel is full of Ahoy goers... 5 minutes later we got 1x beef, which was very tough, 2x satay which was unfortunately cold. We paid, which is an expensive price, a long wait (from 6:05 PM to 7:30 PM), 1 x drink 110 euros, very expensive...

Restaurant in the hotel, very practical to avoid going out. The service is good, waiter knows how to speak several languages ​​(English, French, etc.) The dishes are good with sufficient quantity. Prices are standard.

Leuk restaurant, Het zit onder het Art-Hotel. Het is recent helemaal aangepakt en daardoor super netjes en sfeervol. Nèt even dat extraatje wat het gevoel geeft dat je er écht op uit bent. Het eten is heerlijk, en je wordt goed bediend, al moet je wel even opletten of de bestelling goed is opgenomen.

The risotto was too salty. The rest was OK, nothing special. The espresso martini and the wine were not great. Extremely long waiting to get the main dishes. Not impressed.

Wij eten hier altijd op Donderdagavond via Groupon en ook na de verbouwing is het eten is onveranderd erg lekker en het personeel is hetzelfde en vriendelijk en behulpzaam als altijd! Dus nog steeds ons favoriete restaurant en voor herhaling vatbaar. Het ziet er na de verbouwing schitterend en ruim uit en dan is het nog niet helemaal af… toiletten zijn ook schitterend en erg schoon. Parkeren voor de deur is tot 23:00 betaald parkeren. Je kan betalen via de apparaten die er staan of je aanmelden via de app (bijvoorbeeld Easypark) of parkeren bij P&R Slinge en uitstappen bij metro station Maashaven en dan sta je ook voor de deur.

A Rotterdam è davvero difficile trovare un buon ristorante, qui ci siamo trovati bene. Abbiamo preso il carpaccio, la focaccia e delle entrecote. Prezzi molto alti, ma sono i prezzi di Rotterdam. Almeno c’era qualità e gusto in ciò che mangiavamo (difficile da trovare in questa città)

Na ongeveer 1,5 jaar verbouwen en bijna 5 maanden dicht te zijn geweest is het restaurant weer open. Het is nog niet helemaal af én de aankleding moet ook nog gebeuren maar wat een verandering!! Het ziet er allemaal mooi en sjiek uit. Het restaurant oog en is veel ruimer, mede omdat een gedeelte van de lounge van het hotel ook opener is. De keuken is nu een open keuken maar zit achterin het restaurant dus daar krijg je verder niet veel van mee. Het eten is onveranderd erg lekker en het personeel is hetzelfde en vriendelijk en behulpzaam als altijd! Dus nog steeds ons favoriete restaurant en voor herhaling vatbaar. Wij eten hier vaak op een Donderdagavond via Groupon en dan was het voorheen wisselend druk, ook afhankelijk of er iets in de Maassilo of Ahoy te doen is. Hoe het nu met de drukte is net na de opening hebben we nog geen ervaring mee. Parkeren voor de deur is inmiddels tot 23:00 betaald parkeren. Je kan betalen via de apparaten die er staan of je aanmelden via de app (zoals Easy Park) of parkeren bij P&R Slinge en uitstappen bij metro station Rijnhaven en dan sta je ook voor de deur.

Eten was heerlijk 👌 prachtig gerenoveerd 😍 ik kom zeker weer terug!

Laten je betalen voor een voorgerecht , al heb je die niet besteld. Dit was blijkbaar een VVAL menu waar dit verplicht bij hoorde. Prima, maar dan moet je dit wel communiceren. Eten was ok, niets bijzonders. Groen chemisch dessert kan je beter skippen.

We hebben lambchops gehad en het was heerlijk. Bediening was superb. Vlees was precies hoe we het gevraagd hadden. En kwam niet gelijk na het voorgerecht, wat goed was.

De oudere man in de keuken mag tactvoller reageren naar personeel. Zelfs in bijzijn van gasten grof geschut!! Verder top!

Via groupon hier terecht gekomen en meermaals al geweest. De kwaliteit is constant en erg hoog! Ook de hoeveelheid is zeer goed. Personeel is niet heel erg bewust met werk bezig maar des al niet te min beheersen ze wel de kwaliteiten die de hotellerie vereist. De ambiance is wat smoezelig. Complimenten aan de chefs voor de lekkerste tiramisu die ik ooit gegeten heb.

Eenvoudig maar prima tentje met simpel maar goede Italiaanse keuken. Lekker informeel hapje eten.

Also bitte hier sollte nach der Hotel und Restaurant Renovierung gleich der Koch auch raus geschmissen werden. Von der Pizza über die Nudeln egal welche Sorte auch das Steak ist hier einfach nicht brauchbar. Für einen echten Italiener ein Witz. Obendrein kommt noch 4,50€ für Zimmerservice oben drauf aber beim Bestelldienst verlangt er nur 2,60€. Ich war lange genug dort um zum. 3/4 der Karte mal gegessen zu haben. Ziemlich genau 3 Monate. Muss Fairerweise eine Erweiterung schreiben bin wieder einmal in Rotterdam und dachte ok es ist so spät eine Pizza probieren wir noch und da diese war sehr gut :-) um dies auch wirklich zu Überprüfen habe ich die beiden darauffolgenden Tage gleich nochmal bestellt. Aber Gott sei Dank auch diese war perfekt, vielleicht doch ein neuer Koch oder so, egal Hauptsache es passt kann mich nicht mehr beschweren deshalb wird von einem auf vier Sterne aufgestockt. Einen Stern gibt es Abzug da es nicht kontinuierlich bisher war aber jetzt gut. Vielleicht kommt der letzte Stern auch noch ;-) Denn ich bin nicht das letzte mal hier ;-) also Leute ihr könnt wieder kommen. Was ich noch ausprobieren muss ist die Pasta. Excelente atendimento da Andréia! Ela foi muito empática comigo, tenho restrições alimentares, portanto, levo minha refeição aos lugares, e ela sempre se propõe a esquentar minha refeição pra que eu não fique com fome e tenha uma boa estadia no lugar. Com certeza levarei boas recordações de rotterdam, e Andréia estará entre uma delas. Não tenho palavras para agradecer o que ela tem feito, estou muito feliz com isso. Além disso, o restaurante é muito limpo, o atendimento dos garçons é excelente, são extremamente atenciosos, sentirei muita falta disso tudo. Novamente, obrigada Andréia e equipe!
