Tokootje in Hillegersberg-Schiebroek

The tastiest Surinamese sandwiches in Rotterdam!

Friendly people who help you with a smile. The saoto soup was very tasty and a good portion. The shrimp and chicken curry sandwiches also tasted very good. To finish, I had a spring roll, which was also very delicious. I often find spring rolls a bit too greasy or over-fried, but that was certainly not the case here. Definitely recommended!

I expected to get all my food, but I'm still missing some for my saoto. I picked up saoto today and thought everything was in the bag. Then I looked in the bag later to eat my saoto and saw only rice, saoto, and egg. 😒😒 I will pass this on to the venue and still want to get a saoto for free, because this is just not right. This is literally half of the food.

Had a delicious meal, nasi rames, and quite enough for this price! Real Indo, so definitely good! 😋💜👌🏽

The people are super nice and work hard to prepare the delicious food every single time. Grandma's peanut sauce 👌🏻 There are never too few dishes. I look forward to devouring whatever is left over the next day. A second shop has recently opened.

Had some tasty bakso, and it's very convenient to put together a meal from the fridge. Easy to take along and heat up at home. It's nice that some Indo food has finally made its way my way too 😉

The food itself is good. Nothing wrong with it. It's just a bit unpredictable regarding the opening hours. In my opinion, they close unexpectedly just a little too often. There are all sorts of understandable reasons, mind you (illness, etc.), but for me, that makes it unpredictable. You can't really count on it.

Not a good experience. They forgot ingredients in my soup, and I only discovered it when I got home. After calling them about it, I was told I had to drive back to pick up the missing ingredients. To my surprise, they didn't offer to make a new, hot soup, but instead insisted I heat the now-cold soup myself in the microwave. Moreover, there was no apology or compensation whatsoever. I normally come here often, but the unfriendly service made me lose my customer service.

Delicious home-cooked food! Definitely recommended. Delicious bara, not like the factory fare you find in many places.

A delightful addition to the Peppelweg!

Nice restaurant, super delicious food, definitely recommended!!

Everything was nice and good. Small but lovely place 😊

What a fantastic experience at restaurant Tokootje! From the moment you step inside, you immediately feel welcome. And then the food… truly finger-licking good! Authentic, fresh, and prepared with love, every dish is an explosion of flavor. You can simply taste the passion and tradition in every bite. The friendly service contributes to the pleasant atmosphere. Whether you take something away or enjoy it on the spot, the value for money is excellent. In short, restaurant Tokootje is a must-visit for lovers of traditional dishes from Surinamese and Indonesian cuisine. Highly recommended for a flavorful meal!!

Delicious sandwiches, very friendly people, and nice and relaxed. Absolutely fantastic!

Cool place. It's already busy from 12 pm. Delicious Javanese/Surinamese food.

What a nice place, lovely people doing what they love, and wow, what delicious food! 🤩 Walking into the shop hungry is never wise, but being hangry didn't last long after a delicious satay sandwich! I immediately followed up with fried banana (good, fresh, but just not quite my thing) and finished with a chicken curry sandwich. Insanely tasty! To top it all off, I took home a cold Tjauw Min and snacked on it cold (!) late last night. Also super tasty; that makes for a nice meal tonight! Wow, I'm impressed again!

I had the "red" chicken sandwich, the cod sandwich, and the shrimp sandwich. All three were excellent. The place has a great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!

Delicious sandwiches & super friendly owners!!

Large portions, takes a long time. Even when ordering in advance.

Good honest food from owners with a passion.

Really Indonesian. My grandma and grandpa would have eaten this with pride (and with a few spoons of sambal ;-)) Because it's not spicy. But heavenly! Thank you

Perfect, don't need to add anything else. Staff also super friendly. Regular place for Surinamese food!!

So nice to be there again! Enjoyed a delicious spicy chicken curry sandwich and a portion of noodles, just the way I like it, with vegetables too! Thank you dear hardworking people and see you soon in Ieni mini Indonesia ;)

Delicious snacks, staff was very nice!

Everything they make is delicious, but the chicken curry is next level. The best I have ever eaten, and very friendly people with a clean place!

The saoto is very tasty but the satay!!!! that one is the best!!! Definitely come back!

Wij komen snel terug!

An enormous enrichment for Schiebroek! Delicious food and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. You feel very welcome and the store is beautifully decorated. Chapeu keep it up!!!

We had a super delicious meal here yesterday. It was my first time at Tokootje and I am now sure that I will eat here or take away more often. Delicious Asian and Surinamese cuisine. Good portion for the price and very nice people. We enjoyed it! Oh yeah it's halal! Plus point.

Had the tastiest satay ever tonight. Super hospitable and friendly people who immediately make you feel like you are at home. Highly recommended!

Delicious! Every time. And also a cozy atmosphere and super nice people. Recommended!

The food is really delicious. Highly recommended.

Delicious dishes served fresh and of good quality! It was our first, but certainly not the last time here at Tokootje!

I've eaten hundreds of chicken curry sandwiches, baras and nasi, but this one really beats everything! Fresh, tasty and really great service! Very nice addition to Schiebroek

Always made with the necessary time and love and you can taste it!

Prijs-kwaliteit prima.

One of the best "Tokootjes" in Rotterdam. Food is great, mom & pop store with personal attention. Owners are always friendly, place is spotlessly clean. My absolute "go to" place for good freshly made great food!

What a surprise, after the Physical Singing workshop in the Buurvrouw theater and before driving back to our house in Delft, to settle down in Tokootje and reserve the most wonderful Barra Bacalhau (for me) and Saoto (for partner). to get! Compliments and congratulations to the owners!

Had a delicious meal here today. I was helped very nicely and the food was fantastic.

Wonderful Surinamese feeling, good food. Friendly staff

The chicken curry sandwiches are divinely delicious 🤤

Good food and lovely hardworking people. You can't ask for more. 🥰

Nice owners who have built up a very nice and tasty business here in recent years!

Very tasty sandwiches and the soup is also delicious! Next time again.

Nice "tokootje" with delicious food. Friendly staff.

Wonderful people, good service and a really tasty chicken curry sandwich.

One of the more authentic places in Rotterdam

Makasi yaa!! ;)

Beste Javaan van Schiebroek! (misschien wel Rotterdam ;)

Super goede Indonesische toko (lol) met awesome broodjes! <3

Aanrader!

This place was a big surprise! Would 10/10 recommend this place for a nice meal, is delicious! Also, the staff is very friendly which is a big plus :) Will surely come back soon to try the other items on the menu!!

Lekkerste gevulde BARA kip kerrie ooit!

One of the best meals I've had in Rotterdam. Great flavours, personal service and a nice street to boot!

Of you want a very good taste of javanese-surinam cuisine and indonesian cuisine. Then this is the place to go. This hidden gem in the center of Schiebroek, is a treat to go. Prices are very good, the home made sambals are great!! I would recommend it to anyone.

Lekkerste bara ooit. Met kip kerrie. Sauto soep ook erg lekker! Was 1e x. Voor herhaling vatbaar
