Miyagi & Jones Utrecht in Wijk 06 Binnenstad

Went here with my team of colleagues. I loved the interior and food menu. A lot of options Asian dishes but also other dishes. Everything was great and super tasty food. Would like to visit again sometimes and try different dishes.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The ambience was great. But the reason I'm writing this review is because of the amazing service we received from waitress Alexandra. She was really very nice and we felt special. You don't see waitresses like her a lot. Miyagi, save this one!

Excellent service, staff & prima sort food and the idea of the sharing concept is perfect. Cocktails like from the most famous film. I’ll be back :)

Great, especially via Social Deal

We were unattended for 20mins straight no single waiter/waitress passed nearby while the restaurant was not even full so you cannot really call it busy level. We decided to leave and they were not even noticing we were leaving and we informed them that we were unattended. During this time of waiting we used toilet which lacked of a soap super small and dark. I see a clear management issue here how can I trust their food again let along being disrespected as such.

We ate at Miyagi & Jones for the first time. Upon entering, we were addressed in English. The explanation at the table was also in English. We had all-you-can-eat. The sushi we ordered was delicious. The meat and fish dishes are of high quality. The food portions are quite large, though. Ordering via tablet works without any problems. There are also plenty of desserts. A successful evening, and thanks to everyone working at Miyagi & Jones. You are highly recommended, and we will be back again.

Very close to the city center, the location is excellent, both in terms of the atmosphere created and the services offered.

The food didn't arrive until after 49 minutes and I had to wait 32 minutes before someone came to me, the food was tasty

I went here using a Social Deal. I was looking forward to eating here and my expectations were rewarded. It is in the new neighborhood next to Utrecht Central Station; not super central, but close to the station. The restaurant is spacious; they gave us a table close to the open kitchen. Service was friendly but not super fast. We were given a tablet to place our orders. Personally, I quite like this concept. The food came in large portions, which is good for an à la carte menu but perhaps a bit too much for all-you-can-eat, but I'm not complaining. Most dishes were tasty, especially the sushi and the duck. The Miaagi combo was my favorite sushi. A unique combination of flavors. The scallops were probably past their prime; they had a sticky texture and a fishy taste. The dumplings were also less tasty. Otherwise, we enjoyed everything. The cocktails were also very good. The table was a bit too small for all the plates and bowls. It often took a while for the wait staff to clear the items. The dessert was tasty, unique, and good for two people. All in all, a good experience.

Oriental snack with lots of sauces tastes good but isn't special, even though the price seems to indicate otherwise.

The food here is actually good, except they make it nearly impossible to order, even though there are plenty of wait staff (who seem eager to do their job which has been replaced by an iPad). The concept is way more complicated than it needs to be and honestly the confusion of the ordering process makes me not want to return. It’s really a shame because otherwise I would recommend this place but it’s such an unpleasant dining experience that I cannot. Please bring back normal service!

Found this place because the initial restaurant we were going to was closed. Amazing!!! If you like IXI in Utrecht you will love this place also! As of today 26th May 2026, 3 course (2 plates per course) it's €43pp. We were really hungry so forgot to take pictures, but everything we ate was delicious.

Great food. And yet again, sushi that is just a little different from the usual, delicious. The service was good, as was the atmosphere. The location is just a bit less noticeable. You have to know where it is.

With an Early Bird Social Deal for two, we thoroughly enjoyed two hours of delicious, unlimited food and tasty dishes here. (This deal was €29.95 pp excluding drinks) The quality of the ingredients was high! You select your dishes using a tablet, which were served fifteen minutes later for us. A large part of the staff speaks English. Descriptions on the menu, which is also on the table, can be read in Dutch as well. It was quite busy during our visit, but thanks to the sound-absorbing ceiling and wall coverings, the area where we were seated (at the back) was acoustically calm.

Food and service were excellent. It was truly finger-licking good. The staff were extremely helpful. The only downside, though that is partly due to people's own behavior these days, was the toilet. It was not conducive to the appetite.

We had a delicious meal. We had to wait a little while for someone to take us to our (reserved) table, but the service after that was fine and didn't take nearly as long as I've read here and there. I highly recommend it and would definitely go back again.

The food was very mediocre. Crispy sushi that wasn't crispy at all; it looked like it was prepared the day before. Lukewarm Korean ribs with cold rice, and I could go on and on. The service doesn't keep a close eye on things either; the table isn't cleared, and you constantly have to ask staff to order a drink. We are never going here again.

I recently had dinner at Miyagi, and it was a truly pleasant experience that I’m happy to share.. For around €43 per person (Shared Dining) you get great value with multiple rounds from the menu and one round for dessert. You can also choose coffee instead of dessert, which is a nice option 😊 The food was delicious, with a wide variety of choices to suit different tastes. I especially recommend trying the sushi as it was fresh and flavorful. Please note that drinks are not included in the set price, but they are reasonably priced and affordable. The ambience of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner. Overall, Miyagi offers a great dining experience with good value for money (However I would say, indeed if they lower the price it would be even better - as it would be more affordable for more people to try), tasty food, and a comfortable atmosphere. It worth a visit, if you have enough time to enjoy your dinner experience..

I was very disappointed with my experience at Miyagi & Jones in Utrecht. The food is extremely overpriced for what you actually receive. The portions are surprisingly small, leaving you still hungry despite paying a premium price. While the presentation looks nice, the value simply isn’t there. A meal here can easily cost a small fortune, yet the quality and quantity do not justify the price at all. Overall, it feels more like you’re paying for the concept and atmosphere rather than satisfying food. I would not recommend it if you are looking for reasonable portions and fair pricing

We had a delicious meal. My husband has an almond allergy and this was handled very carefully. There was also some English-speaking staff. This was not a problem for us, but it might be for others.

Positive: the food is really good. Unless you're a very big eater, the 3-course menu (2x2 dishes and dessert, or you can still have one dish and no dessert in the package) is more than enough. What we were disappointed with, however, was the service. It took a very long time for them to come to us. We waited 5 minutes at the entrance even though we had a reservation and the waiters were walking around, and then another 10 minutes before we could order our first drinks. Halfway through, they brought water and wine, which we hadn't ordered and turned out to be for the table next to us, and had been incorrectly charged by the waiter. It happens, but when we went to pay, it was still on the bill. You try to explain in English what happened, and the waiters initially insisted that you ordered the wrong thing. No, girl, you incorrectly charged our table, but your colleague simply put the drinks at the other table and didn't adjust our bill. How convenient. It was also bizarrely warm inside, and I've heard other people complain about it. I really enjoyed the food, but the service was mediocre. All the food was in English and the service was rushed, giving it a bit of an "all you can eat" vibe. The prices are exorbitant, so I couldn't give it more than 3 stars; I expected more.

Excellent, extensive menu. Good food, especially the crunchy sushi and the crispy chicken. The dessert was tasty, but very filling. The service was excellent and fast, but the clearing sometimes took a while.

The portions are waaaaaay too small and the food is pretty mid (the only good thing to me was the sashimi which was pretty fresh). The service was good but they really need to lower the prices, or put more food on the plates, or better the quality of all the dishes (the dumplings were like supermarket quality).

I ordered delivery Grilled Salmon and monchou madness. It was so delicious and the portion was huge. Top value for the price! They forgot the monchou madness but the employee was so professional to apologize and send the missing item. He made my day! I will be ordering more often from here

Very nice employees except for 1 but I won't blame the whole restaurant for that. I was looked at a bit dirty the whole time because I only ordered 2 lemonades, but the person who served me was very sweet.

Awful inexperienced employees. 1. Valentines day, booked a slot at 17:00. Confirmed reservation through their partner platform social deals. 2. Reservation confirmed by e-mail and in the app. 3. First guests to arrive at the restaurant and then being told we are booked at 20:00. Which never was being communicated to us whatsoever and we can not be seated at our reserved time. They blame their partner instead of taking responsibility 4. Everything else is of course fully booked. Bad service! if you can not inform your guests in time when you choose to block your time slots, then don't work with other platforms. We have booked way ahead and not been informed of anything being changed.

A super cozy atmosphere with very friendly service. And the food was truly delicious. Definitely recommended if you're in Utrecht, and easily accessible from the Jaarbeurs or Beatrix Theatre.

The service was inconsistent. Unfortunately, the lack of interest prevailed. The food was okay.

The flavors were rather bland, and that was unfortunately the case for almost all the dishes we had. Personally, I'd like to see more sweetness, saltiness, sourness, and spice in Asian dishes, similar to what you'd experience in Asia. It's a shame, and I'm especially curious about the next time, as the feedback is generally quite positive. The service and atmosphere were good, though.

Great food, nice concept. Two courses seems a bit small for starters. We ordered an extra portion of fries with each order and then he had no room for dessert. When we paid, we were allowed to exchange the extra fries we ordered for the dessert we didn't eat. The service was friendly but (almost) entirely English-speaking.

The food was delicious, but €11 for a wheat beer is way too expensive! But the food was truly delicious, and I'll definitely be back. But not for the beer 😉

Since other reviews already faithfully expressed how good the food is, I'll just add that I'm a big fan of the atmosphere on the restaurant. In addition to the comfort you'll find, it really is a perfect blend between Dutch and Asian aesthetics. The artwork on the walls always steals the show if you take a second to appreciate it.

We had a delicious meal! Great portions for sharing, enough variety for everyone. From very spicy to nice and sweet. We were a group of around 40 people, and despite the crowd, we could still understand each other perfectly. Good acoustics.

My son (15) took me along for my birthday when we spent a day at Comic Con together at the Jaarbeurs. It is a very cozy restaurant where you can eat well. It was booked via Social Deal and was certainly delicious. We enjoyed ourselves together and the selection was more than enough. Definitely recommended for people looking for something to eat when coming from the Jaarbeurs. It is really only 100 meters away, but you walk right past it because it is located behind a building when coming from the Jaarbeurs. I will certainly keep in mind to eat here again. My experience at Miyagi & Jones was a mix of impressive ambiance and some notable limitations in the menu. One of the first challenges was having to decide right at the beginning whether to go for à la carte or the set menu. This felt a bit restrictive, especially for those who like to keep their options open. When it comes to the menu itself, the selection left something to be desired. If you enjoy spicy food, you’ll be well taken care of here. However, for those who can’t handle spice or have allergies, the choices are extremely limited. For example, when I asked if they offered plain rice, the answer was a clear “No, we only have kimchi rice,” which again highlights the lack of non-spicy alternatives. On the positive side, the atmosphere is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. The food is presented in a visually appealing way and tastes good as well. Overall, Miyagi & Jones feels more like an experience than a traditional restaurant. If you’re looking to have a great time in a lovely setting, this is the place for you. Just be aware of the spicy menu and limited options if you have dietary restrictions.

I ordered a ‘spicy Thai beef’ but the ingredients that should be in it (as stated on thuisbezorgd) did not match what I got. And on top of that it was not tasty at all. The meat tastes very cheap and I could hardly eat it and there were blocks of rice in it.

Honestly little disappointing experience. Food has a all-you-can-eat vibe with authentic flavors missing. A lot of dishes are ‘pre-cooked’ and miss deep flavor with just sauces added on the dishes. Salmon sushi contained shrimp, when we asked the staff about it they first said it was crab (?) but later they said it was flambé salmon. When it looks like a shrimp, it smells like a shrimp and it tastes like a shrimp, it probably is a shrimp… Anyway we didn’t make a big deal out of it as the sushi was quite disappointing all together. Had high expectations due to the good ratings but unfortunately fell short of it.

In itself a nice restaurant in a beautiful location. But the 3-course menu of almost 42 euros per person is a bit disappointing. The dishes arrive at the same time per round, so if you take two hot snacks they quickly become lukewarm again and they are not very big. There is also a lot of sauce, which dominates the taste. In terms of price quite expensive.

Very disappointing sushi experience. All types of sushi have lots of sauce on them already which takes away from the experience of tasting the sushi itself. The other dishes we ordered were average. The dessert and the friendly waiters were the only good things

We had the 3-gangen menu, which is more worth the price than al a carte. The food was nice, some dishes were hits, such as the tempura mushrooms and the beef curry, others were misses, such as the sushi with too much mayo and the lamb with a very unappetising sauce on it. The mango macaron dessert was good. The pandan cocktail had a very delicious pandan aftertaste, but too much lime, which made it more of a sour instead of a daiquiri. Overall fun experience to have dinner with friends.

What a nice tent! We had a very nice evening beyond expectations. Tasty snacks and affordable. Smooth service and the restaurant is nicely decorated inside.

My expectations were higher. First impressions were good: nice staff, nice decor, and the food was okay. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't fit. The Homemade Iced Tea – Pure Passion tasted like sugar syrup with ice – artificial and over-sweetened. A canned beer for €6.85 is also questionable. What particularly bothered me was that the sauces for the dishes were obviously not homemade. As I left the restaurant I could see that the original bottles of the sauces were on the shelf in the kitchen, ready to hand. This confirms my impression that they rely on finished products here. It was similar with the sushi: you literally had to look for the fish in the roll. Visually it looked very futuristic, but in terms of taste it didn't have much in common with sushi. That might be okay for some, but not for me.

Nice food, not super special or anything. But nothing wrong with that at all

Not what it used to be a few years ago. Quite pricey, all 4 dishes were on the table within 5 minutes (which was not enough) so after half an hour we were done again. Hardly any Dutch speaking staff. And the taste was okay, a six. For me the last time I ate here. It was not a nice cozy evening out for which we had set aside 1.5 hours. Fortunately the musical Moulin Rouge made up for that.

I placed an order for almost 100 euros via Uber Eats before 5 p.m. A delivery person was added twice and after almost an hour and a half our order was canceled by the restaurant...??? Not available by phone: ridiculous!!!!!

Food quality is very tasty, but portions should be a little larger. Service underground! We were assigned a table, then we were ignored for 45 minutes until we requested a service person. Only then was the tablet ordering process explained to us (there was no tablet on our table). 4 meals for 2 people arrived extremely late, and the waitress sometimes assigned the dishes incorrectly. After dinner, ignorance again until we noticed ourselves. Service staff seem haphazard, slow and sluggish. Tables are not cleared.

Parking garage around the corner. Prime location and cozy building. Employees were very friendly and the food was really great! Had a wonderful Christmas Eve 👌And declared allergies during the online reservation and this was really taken seriously. Top!

It was a very good restaurant with delicious foods and cocktails. There were 2 problems. 1- Orders should be made with a tablet and we had only 2 tablets for 10 people. It took too long time so not enough time to see whole menu. 2- Most of the starters has been served at the end and we couldn’t finish them. I hope they add one tablet at least for a couple. I will go again

Was a bit disappointing unfortunately. Nice atmosphere, service is generally excellent but sometimes a bit chaotic and not always quick and attentive when clearing the table. But the disappointment was mainly the food: you pay a high price, but the difference in quality and especially quantity of the dishes is enormous. Especially if you eat vegetarian, you will get a pretty bad deal here: in the menu you can choose 2x2 dishes, but as a vegetarian dish you will get, for example, one slice of fried eggplant, while your carnivorous table companion will get a mountain of fried chicken with sometimes bread or prawn crackers as well. gets. Many meat dishes were also not seasoned at all, or the sauces were somewhat mediocre. Lemon chicken and dumplings had clearly been in the kitchen for a while, because they were quite 'soggy'. Sometimes the food came suspiciously quickly after ordering, so I think not everything is freshly prepared per order. We didn't really like desserts, they tasted a bit chemical (we had the macaron and the cheesecake). I ate here a few years ago and was much more enthusiastic then, but now I wouldn't recommend eating here.
