Fantastic authentic Caribbean food in a Caribbean atmosphere, very reasonable prices, and above all, fantastic service! Delicious oysters as a starter, pulpo and ceviche for the mains, and a good wine with excellent recommendations for our choice. And a delicious Peruvian cake for dessert. The service is attentive, helpful, and incredibly friendly. And that in Amsterdam! It was an unexpectedly wonderful evening.

Great atmosphere. The concept was also great. We went for ladies' night with a group of 12 women. Our table was right in front of the speakers. The music was so loud you couldn't talk normally, and it hurt your ears. The food tasted good, but everything was cold. The side dish (fries were the only thing that was warm) was served almost 10 minutes after the meat/salmon. All the fries were left behind.

Great food, great service, what else do you need?

The restaurant's concept is nice, and the food was delicious. However, the organization of the dinner was a bit chaotic: dishes didn't always arrive at the same time, and the menu was changed without prior notice. The "celebration package" was also a bit disappointing in terms of decoration—a bunch of three balloons. The staff was friendly, but the service could have been more professional. For the price, I expected more. I spent €1300 for 13 people.

We had a pleasant dinner experience at Mondi. The menu offered a variety of options, including some good vegetarian dishes. We were served kindly by Omar, and we would love to come back again.

I wasn't that excited when my coworker mentioned he wanted to eat at a hotel, often the food isn't that great. But I can't wait to eat here again :) The food was lovely, the staff was even better.

We ate here on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. What immediately struck us was the diversity of the staff. They were all very service-oriented and cheerful. The food and cocktails were delicious. Caribbean fusion. After 10 pm, the music goes up, and the staff contribute to an atmosphere that makes everyone want to swing. We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful restaurant; truly stunningly decorated. We went here for dinner with four friends and had a wonderful time! The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful (something that's unfortunately not always the case anymore). The DJ played well, which added to the atmosphere during our visit. Parking is well-organized, as the first two hours are free. After that, you pay €7.50 per hour. Free parking is available across the street from the restaurant after a certain time. All in all, we'll definitely be back!

As you drive into the rather gray, dull neighborhood, it's hard to imagine that you'll soon find yourself in this incredibly charming, colorful restaurant, where you'll receive a friendly welcome and the atmosphere is convivial. A delicious cocktail and, with the first bite (beef wedges), you'll tell your partner, "You have to try this," and he'll agree, "I'll order this next time." It was truly delicious! Because it was a Saturday night, there was a DJ playing, which made the evening complete. Admittedly, a night out isn't cheap, but we'd love to come back!

We had lunch here a while ago. We received a very friendly welcome. We didn't have a reservation, but there was plenty of room. The hostess showed us where to sit and let us browse the menu at our leisure. We ordered mocktails and various dishes to share. The mocktails were delicious. The salmon and pastechi were tasty. Only the latter tasted rather greasy and not crispy. The banana chips weren't my favorite. They were just chips with a little mayo. I thought they would be more like bakabana, but unfortunately not. Aside from the food, the experience was good. We would definitely try it again, but for dinner. There would be more choices on the menu then. If you eat everything, there's plenty to choose from for lunch. Furthermore, the location is very easily accessible by car, has good parking, and is very nicely decorated. So definitely recommended.

The interior design is beautiful and makes the whole dining experience even more special. The food was outstanding: the fresh salad with guacamole dressing was light and delicious, the beef dish rich in flavor with great textures, and the fish with creamy sauce perfectly cooked and so tasty. Everything was beautifully presented and full of authentic Caribbean flavors. The service was warm, attentive, and friendly throughout – we felt very well taken care of. Last weekend, we had high tea with a large group at Mondi Nieuw West. It was really well organized. There was plenty of food, and the snacks were delicious and freshly prepared. We'd had high tea at Mondi before, but it was disappointing. This time, we really enjoyed it. Thanks to Maarten and the other staff for the wonderful service!

Whilst staying in the hotel, we had to try the delicious cocktails on offer in the restaurant/bar area. A beautiful restaurant with a unique decor. The staff were friendly and easy to make conversation with. Asking about the cocktails, everything was explained to us about the alcohol used etc. Well we had a few cocktails, thanks to Donny! He is a real asset to your team as a mixologist. As are the other staff too. Some of the best cocktails I have had made and drunk to this point. And the shots were an adventure too. Thank you all and we hope to return again in the future.

Mondi Amsterdam is a beautiful location with a nice atmosphere and good food. It is stylishly decorated and ideal for a fun night out. We found the staff to be a bit mediocre; we had to wait a bit longer for our food and drinks. That said, it did not detract from the overall experience. A handy extra: you can park for free for the first two hours, but don't forget to have your parking ticket scanned. All in all a great experience and definitely worth a visit.

Disappointing and Unacceptable – No Transparency to Guests As tourists, we walked across half of Amsterdam just to eat at Mondi – a restaurant that had been recommended to us several times in advance. According to Google, it was open, and the website showed no indication of closure. Reserving a table was easy – which also reassured us. Then, we were surprised when we arrived: Closed. No information, no notification, no email to cancel the reservation. After checking with local residents, we learned that the owners are currently in the Caribbean. This is unacceptable. As a restaurant that actively accepts reservations and publishes opening hours, it is a minimum standard to keep this information up to date. This approach is not only unprofessional, but simply disrespectful to guests who invest time, money, and effort. Very disappointing – we cannot recommend Mondi under these circumstances.

Today I had a really good dinner here: Caribbean beef tips with corn fries, and a mocktail. Very delicious, surprisingly quick, and a very friendly service. I highly recommend this place, and I’ll definitely come here again

What is Caribbean about this? I find the food disappointing and too expensive for the quality of the food. Fried rice was tasteless. Tostones were cold and old, certainly not fresh. I think I have eaten better at Van der Valk. The food resembles that. The only thing I found ok was the ceviche. Service too made without heart, too trained. Took forever to bring a few drinks while it was not busy. Interior everything is fake. No atmosphere. Too bad! I expected more. Price and quality are completely out of proportion.

We wanted to eat some Caribbean food. We called (via the website was not possible at that time) and made a reservation, almost didn't work. There was a Caribbean evening so fully booked. The hostess was very friendly and could still let us sit in the salon next door. We still got a lot of the Caribbean evening.

I am super satisfied! I had a high tea. But forgot to indicate that I am vegetarian. But they handled that very well by replacing meat dishes with something else! And also got a free delicious non-alcoholic Champagne! What a great service! I really had a nice birthday day. Mondi is recommended and I will definitely come back here soon.

Just had a delicious breakfast at the Corendon hotel. Very friendly service. Excellent help from Aysen where you could go with every question. There are various hot dishes and there is a lot of choice anyway. Recommended!

In a hotel but allows others to enter. The theme is mostly carribean, but other dishes sneak in. We tried a variety of menu items and some were better than others. The burger was decent, the tacos were good and the same meat was used in the nachos. The meatballs were tasty but needed to be dipped in the sauce to be tastier. The corn ribs were good while we had to send the steak back as it was undercooked. Finally, we got a mixed salad which was good, and polenta fries which were just average. Overall, it's a nice place with lots of options to fit most any palate.

The Pulpo was delicious, extremely rich in flavor. The Churassco was great, especially the pico and chimichurri! The plantains are fantastic as well. The service was great, quick turnaround. The staff is super friendly. Love the liveliness of the staff. The price is a little on the pricey side but, for the quality of food and service, it’s worth it.

Hidden gem on our last night. Fantastic service, great drinks and even better food. Easy dinner option before we headed to airport in the morning and pleasantly surprised. I would visit again for the food and service alone. From chef to bar and especially our hostess who managed the entire floor, wonderful.

Lovely atmosphere with welcoming, friendly and attentive Gen-Z staff. Innovative and very attractive cocktails. The food was consistently good and the raw tuna tacos were quite delicious. Everything was served low sodium. Fresh draft beer and upbeat music. We witnessed a couple of delightful birthday celebrations with balloons and sparkling candles arranged by the restaurant. Only lowlights: 1. the tuna steak catch of the day was too dry and tasteless, 2. Serving the new Second sunset cocktail in a thick ceramic mug took off from the experience. Overall, I would enjoy returning again.

Nothing special with the food here. All the carribean theme is just to create some hype. The allergy menu is wrong. It says parmesan cheese does not have milk and marked a beef dish as vegetarian. So they are not serious about their menu. They are just for making money. Out waiter was quite a gentleman and he took extra care for our group due some folks were allergic to specific things. They charged 9euros for parking whereas it was free outside. That was also a disappointment. All we did was have some food and leave. Nothing more. And the theme is created with fake plants and wallpapers. Very plastic ky feel and this was. Even a low end cafe or a restaurant has real plants. They are perfect fit for people who want 100% artificial atmosphere. If you staying in the hotel just walk near hoofdorpplein and you will find many good restaurants. I am never going back to Mondi ever again.

We recently spontaneously went to Mondi for dinner for my mother's birthday. The atmosphere was okay. However, we were escorted somewhere where we sat under a speaker, which made it difficult to have a conversation. And they were not treated very hospitably.

We traveled from Germany especially for my birthday and it was more than worth it! 🎉✨ The atmosphere was simply on point, the DJ created a great atmosphere and the service really celebrated us. An evening full of good vibes, great food and perfect music! ⚠️ Important tip: If you want to reserve via OpenTable, that is no longer used here! It's better to reserve directly via the website and leave a deposit so that everything runs smoothly. We had problems with the reservation at short notice, but thanks to the great service team and a particularly helpful lady at the reception, our evening was still able to take place. Huge thanks to the team that made everything possible! The drinks and the food were simply fantastic, the salmon was cooked to perfection, the side dishes were prepared with a lot of love and the dessert - coconut cheesecake with matcha & chocolate was a real highlight. For a friend's baby shower we enjoyed a delicious high tea at Mondi Amsterdam New West. The savory snacks, such as the flat bread, sandwiches and mini tomato soup, were delicious. As well as the sweet snacks. The relaxed atmosphere and inviting interior completed the experience. Highly recommended for special occasions!

Mondi is definitely the place for fun, the Beef tacos were delicious! however, the chicken and salmon were not seasoned well. Service was super friendly, although a bit forgetful. Parking was free for the first 2.5 hours, generally highly recommended!

Just been there for a quick cocktail, great atmosphere, everyone was super friendly. The staff even gave out a shot and a mini fountain for free. However, I found the price of €12 for a mocktail a bit too much for the quantity. I'm used to different prices in Germany. Otherwise super satisfied, the visit is worth it!

In January 2025 we had dinner in Mondi West with a large group to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, my birthday fell apart because the majority immediately got diarrhea from the food. And not just that which was bad enough. Was it also the food that was not tasty? Far too small portions that had to be shared, which was not mentioned. The long wait for the food. For 60pp eating alone this was a big disappointment. Drinking is also very pricey, asking 30 euros for a glass of Hennessy cognac. I have contacted Mondi several times about this. And I can get a 20% discount on my next dinner. I have indicated that I do not want to get sick again and that I want 20% of my amount back. Well, according to them, this is not possible. We never have to go there again. Hope this doesn't affect other people too.

I had a delightful lunch here. I ordered the hummus and the spicy meatballs which were both under appetizers. Both dishes had a little kick but was tolerable coming from someone who doesn’t like spicy foods. Although it was fairly busy when I ordered, my incredible server, Maarten, provide top quality customer service. He warned me in advance that it may take awhile to receive my food. Nonetheless, it wasn’t that long of a wait or maybe it didn’t seem like it because he was very attentive considering how hectic it was. This seems like the place to be on the weekends and I get why that is. The decorum and the space is very cool. It’s a place where you can dress up or dress more casually and either goes. Suffice it to say, you won’t be disappointed if you came here:).

The snacks were tasty and diverse. As a main course I had the sirloin steak, it was more of that thick rubber fat than meat, the meat itself was well done instead of medium rare. That was a real negative for me. PS: the food was much tastier last time so I know it can be better. The service was perfect and the entertainment also great! I will definitely come sometime.

We had a Christmas dinner at the Mondi Restaurant New-West at the Corendon Amsterdam New-West Hotel during their Caribbean Night with a 4 course menu with a Caribbean twist, music and entertainment. It was very festive and jolly. Though in the beginning guests and the mood was a bit stiff, but later the night when the entertainers really worked the audience to loosen up and just be in a party mood, it turned into a fun bash! There was live music, dancing, a DJ, kahoot games to win some prizes and even a photobooth by Glimbooth to make holiday pictures. It was a fun night, with good food and kind staff especially the waiter of Dutch origin who mostly served our table and assisted without any hesitancy to cater to our food needs, that we had to give him a tip as gratitude. A nice touch was also that Mondi assisted in the email request that I sent afterwards concerning a photo we taken in the photobooth by Glimbooth, that we didn't receive. They referred to Glimbooth with their contact info, since Mondi has no access to their system.

Dear Mondi, Let's start at the beginning. The way I was received was already disappointing. I was forced to sit in a specific spot even though there were plenty of free tables. Then menus are offered with dishes whose names half the staff cannot even pronounce correctly, let alone prepare the food properly. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but boy do I regret it! The prices you charge for frozen meals are downright outrageous. The food is prepared by children aged 16+ who clearly see this work as a side job. This clearly shows how much you care about quality: nothing at all. Then the waitress with her lips sprayed on – no empathy at all. She would be better off working as a security guard. She hangs around the table for no reason, interrupting conversations and interfering in everything. It felt like she wanted me out the door as quickly as possible, like she wanted to save on my parking costs. To my dear people from the Caribbean: please do not come and eat here. Nothing about this restaurant is Caribbean, except the names of the dishes. If you want to take the day off to surprise your husband with a "Caribbean" meal, do yourself a favor and stay home. Go to the supermarket, do your shopping and make your own food. That will save you a stomach ache and an empty wallet. Thank me later.

A delicious high tea with perfect ambiance and service, The four of us recently enjoyed a fantastic high tea at a location outside the busy center of Amsterdam. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail, from the welcome to the explanation of the products and the attentive service. The atmosphere was particularly pleasant: a beautiful ambiance where you immediately feel welcome. The tables were stylishly set, and the various courses of the high tea were presented with great care. Every bite – from savory sandwiches to sweet treats – was a feast for the taste buds. Parking was perfectly arranged, which is a real relief if you don't want to go to the center of Amsterdam. This is hands down the best upscale Caribbean restaurant I have ever eaten at! From the moment you enter, you are embraced by the warm and cheerful Caribbean atmosphere. The music, the colors and the smell of fresh food immediately make it cozy. The food was phenomenal! The flavors were authentic and reminded me of Curacao and Bonaire. The pika ball was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. And the awa di lamunchi – an absolute must-try! The service was just as good as the food. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They took the time to chat and regularly asked if everything was okay. If you like Caribbean vibes and food that is prepared with love, then you should definitely eat here.

The food is okay, but there were problems with Mihal when it came to service. He even became so loud and rude that we had to leave the restaurant. He was not friendly, competent or accommodating. Another waiter named Abderrafie was super nice and did a great job.

Mondi Amsterdam Nieuw-West I recently went to Mondi Restaurant in New West after hearing great things and seeing amazing photos of their food. The place was super cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. They had a ton of great options on the menu, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. It was a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be back. If you’re a foodie who loves great service and a warm atmosphere, Mondi is the place for you!

I wouldn’t recommend eating here. We took the 4-course menu for €65. Portion sizes are very small. Ceviche with only 4 small pieces of fish? And a very small piece of baka ribs with a small portion of fries as the main course. It’s very rare that I come home from a restaurant hungry but I had to eat another dinner at home after this experience. Avoid at all costs, there are many better restaurants in Amsterdam worth your money.
