Very rude staff and not friendly

It's incredibly expensive, and you have to pay to use the restroom even if you order a drink. Besides, the service is very unpleasant and unfriendly.

It's a scam! They want to charge you €1.25 to use the restroom. You buy four coffees at €4.50 each, and they scratch up your receipt so you can't use the restroom because, according to "company policy," you can only use the restroom if you buy food. So, you can buy a disgusting piece of brownie for €2.80 and reuse the receipt to go to the restroom as many times as you want, but not with €16 worth of coffee. Outrageous. On top of that, the elderly woman who serves you is rude and speaks to you badly. I've included our receipt code in the second photo so you can use the restroom for free and not waste a single euro on this.

The staff were extremely rude; they would turn away and ignore you if they didn't want to reply. They informed everyone that you couldn't get a free restroom receipt just by ordering coffee; you had to order a drink and a meal.

To use the restroom at this restaurant, you normally have the option to pay €1.25 or buy food/drinks. However, after buying a drink and asking the staff for a receipt, we were told that the restroom was free if we didn't buy a drink. Since we'd seen other customers use their receipts after dining, we tried scanning the barcode on our deliberately torn receipt. It worked, contrary to the staff's claim of unlimited uses. It felt like the staff were deliberately misleading customers, and their attitude was terrible – a very unpleasant experience.

I stopped here after visiting the village. Everything was good but the capuccino should be in a bigger size. Carrot cake was good. The staff gave me a free toilet ticket.

Avoid this coffee shop! I was planning to order a coffee and use the restroom, but after ordering, when I asked the staff for a receipt to use the restroom, they told me I had to order food and a souvenir if I wanted to use the restroom. It's ridiculous! I've already paid for this place, and I can't even use the restroom for free? It's utterly ridiculous and disgusting.

I bought a coffee then I asked if I can use the toilet!!! The bartender was very rude asking me why do you think it is for free because you bought a coffee no you have to pay!!! That's really funny how they deal with their customers. I don't recommended to anyone so unprofessional

Very rude and horrible staff (specifically the cashier at the café). Visited on 30/04/26 around 4 PM. We were told no food was available, so we bought coffee and hot water for our disabled son and asked for disposable utensils to help feed him. We fully respected the no outside food policy and we were going to have our coffee in the cafe and bring our “outside” food outside the cafe after we finish our coffee (that we bought from the cafe). Despite this, the cashier followed us to our table, raised her voice, and repeatedly told us to leave. Even after we calmly explained we would finish our drinks and leave, she aggressively told us to “LEAVE RIGHT NOW” and gestured at us to get out—while our son was already distressed. Very disappointing and lacking basic empathy. This led to a cascade of events of very distressed parents and family, where the manager had to be involved. The manager understood we have a disabled son and allowed us to stay at the end but we were in no mood to stay in the cafe after. There was no apology from the staff member concerned.

The staff was nice but the food was appalling. The cajun chicken is not a piece of chicken but chicken slices ( like a chicken salame). The 5 falafel we got were hard and dry. The mini pancakes were undercooked.

Vegetarian options of soup and or falafel with dips (really tasty btw). Best value in this quarter. Soup & sambo deal 13e. Look at our view from our window seat of the windmills. Lovely. Toilet entrance fee is covered in your purchase (1.25e).

Hello, I just came out of this place that they say is good, but I have never hated anything like this. They said I had to buy something to be allowed to use the toilet, so I ordered a coffee. Then they said it wasn't allowed because coffee isn't a drink. Eventually, I left and I am never going back there. It is terrible and the woman at the checkout laughed at me when she saw the situation. I hope that if I ever return, it will be better.

The way they treat tourists here is absolutely unacceptable. I was with my mother, an elderly lady, and the staff was incredibly rude and aggressive. They kicked us out of the place just because I was eating a small snack (cereal bar) while standing up, showing zero respect for my mother's age or the fact that we just needed a place to find some shelter. They clearly don't know how to treat visitors. It was a terrible experience. Do not waste your time or money here; there are much better and more welcoming places nearby.

Terrible experience. I went in for a coffee and to use the bathroom. After I had my coffee and paid for it, I asked for information about the bathroom, seeing the turnstiles for access to the restroom since the bar girl had thrown away my receipt. The result? They told me I had to pay an extra €1.25 to use the restroom. Oh, isn't a €3.75 coffee enough? The restroom is a customer right. Embarrassing.

We sat here for a bit before we would take a stroll. We got very delicious coffee and croissants and got served by the very lovely girl with the red hair, she made sure we got everything we need and this het best to accommodate us. There was not enough croissants but they offered to make some more for us and even took a picture of our family. This is a great place to relax and have a break. The place looks very welcoming and all staf was very kind during out visit. Special thanks to the girl with the red hair because she recognized us when we came back and you can clearly tell she cares about the customers.

Very disappointing experience. We entered the restaurant intending to order food and were told by a staff member that they were only serving drinks and had no food available, despite there being many empty tables. As we were about to leave, the same staff member came back with a rude and impatient attitude, asking again whether we were ordering, and questioned why we had said yes earlier. We explained it was because we were told there was no food, and only then did she say the restaurant was busy. The communication was unclear and the attitude was unprofessional. As customers, we expect basic politeness and clear explanations, not to be challenged in this way. Overall, a very uncomfortable service experience.😠

If I could give zero stars I would. After walking through the beautiful scenery the cafe was an absolute disappointment. Staff are not friendly, they stand eating ice cream while watching customers sit and look at them waiting to be served. The food is not fresh, it’s microwaved and was ice cold inside.

We were having coffee from the cafe and our 8 month old baby was having his soup we brought from home (without salt), and they were extremely rude, yelling “you have to take it outside!!” Making a sceneOutside was 5 degrees, so obviously was not possible to give the soup outside. I would probably understand better if we were not consuming anything from the cafe…

A very rude and disrespectful situation occurred when we finished our tour and before leaving the village. We went to this restaurant or rest stop to use the restroom. Entrance was for cash, not free. The restrooms were dirty, and there was only one box of soap available. There were no hooks to hang scarves or bags. We entered at 5:30, and no one told us that the station or center would close in half an hour. My daughter, my young son, and I entered the bathroom. Unfortunately, I had taken off my hijab and jacket, and I was only wearing my sweatshirt and pants. Suddenly, the station manager entered the women’s bathroom, opened the door, and without permission, started shouting at us, “Come on, come on, quickly, we’re going to close the station.” The station’s actual working hours had ended. I started shouting at him and warning him to leave. “It is not permissible to enter the women’s bathroom directly without permission, even if we were late to leave.” It was the station’s closing time, and they were supposed to inform us of its closing half an hour before that. He should have sent a woman to warn the patrons. Inside the bathroom, so that they would raid the place, I started to perform ablution, and they did not like that, under the excuse that this is a bathroom and not a place for showering. Indeed, ignorance and lack of intelligence are a disaster, but I completed my ablution because it is my right, since I paid money to use this facility, to use it according to my need, and since it does not conflict with the place, and you cannot prevent me, God is sufficient for me, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. Very bad workers, make no sense to order something

It's a nice place to relax after exploring. There's also a restroom inside.

⭐ Very Disappointing Experience – Not About the Food, But About Humanity I had a very bad experience at this place — not regarding the food or service in general, but specifically related to the ethics and humanity of a person who appeared to be the manager. My elderly mother, who suffers from diabetes, urgently needed to use the bathroom. Unfortunately, he categorically refused to let her use it simply because "the bathroom is for guests only." When I offered to order something just so she could use the bathroom, he still refused and claimed the bathroom was "closed." I have always known the Dutch to be kind and understanding people, but the cold and inhumane attitude of this individual truly shocked and angered me. It’s very unfortunate when basic compassion is denied, especially to someone in genuine need.

I have lived the last 6.5 years in Europe. The MuseumCafé had the best apple crumble cake I had all these years. And a view to match it too. Can't recommend it enough!!!

Museum Cafe is located in the Zaans museum area. Provides a variety of coffee, chocolate and tea drinks and others. Also provides various bakeries and cookies. I ordered Caramel Machiato, and cheese bread. The prices are very affordable, the service is very friendly. Dine-in and take away services are available.

I must rate the service as 2 stars. The barista completely disregarded me when I asked for takeaway cups, pretending I was not there. The person taking orders was very kind, which is the only reason I am not giving 1 star. To the barista, please be kind and do not vent your frustrations on guests. We are simply there to have a pleasant experience.

I quite liked their Dutch mini pancakes. The cappuccino was decent and was served with cookies.

They are unpleasant and rude to customers. During our visit on 3/8/2024 at 2:30 p.m., we ordered 3x Applecrumble, 2x coffee and 1x soft drink. Immediately after eating, the wife and daughter went to the toilet, and in the meantime, the blonde lady with glasses kicked us out with the other daughter, saying that we should go for fresh air, that we can sleep elsewhere. We haven't experienced that yet, shame.

Nice location but service very slow with insufficient staff for the number of customers at lunchtime. We had to chase up sandwiches and a smoothie after nearly 40 minutes and found they lost our order. They did give us an extra tea for waiting otherwise it’d be one star. Pity, could be a lot better run

Ill-mannered and rude. Watery coffee, terrible hot chocolate. There was nothing to eat other than a few more or less pies. I bought a brownie that was pure sugar with a hot chocolate that was from a can, also watery, and as I was starving, I went to eat some of those artisanal savory cookies bought at the local tourist spot, and I was even reprimanded as if I had brought lunch (detail, the kitchen was closed). They even charge to use the toilet. They have no idea how to treat tourists. Different from all the places I visited in the Netherlands.

Use the bathroom before this stop. The snack is really bad, as is the service. People with the look of few friends, unlike anything we have experienced so far. Due to the complete lack of options, we ordered a hot chocolate, horrible, a cappuccino, watery and a brownie, super sweet, so we took a typical cookie that we bought at another stop, and they didn't allow us to eat it, even though we had bought the items above, from poor quality. The only good thing is the view.

The coffee shop in the museum is the only place with a toilet in this area. It costs 1 euro to use the toilet, but if you buy any meal, coffee, or cola, you can use it for free with your receipt, and there is no limit to the number of times. 1 cup of coffee 2.9.

The hot chocolate was not good, it was brown sugary water. The cappuccino was just water with foam. With the ticket you can enter the toilet without extra payment.

Sorry, but they do have a good coffee machine at the Walvis takeaway counter... Don't tell anyone else, you can also sit outside. The parking lot could be paved with gas for all that money coming in. Just make 1 entrance and parking card and toilet, a fixed amount without all that hassle with pin here, not there, and then again. The perfume they sell in the store smells nice, but unfortunately it leaves yellow stains on your clothes....

Wow! This cafe is awesome. Big portion, reasonable price (actually cheaper than nearby restaurants), very vegetarian-friendly (half of the menu is vegetarian!), and of course very tasty. The drink selection was big from soda, lemonade to coffee The only downside is lack of air flow. It felt a bit stagnant inside
