Muy recomendable, sin duda volveremos si volvemos a Amsterdam. Mi compañero y yo compartimos 2 titulares, 1 principal y 1 lateral. Los tamaños de las porciones eran grandes, como dije compartimos 1 principal. La comida era increíble, no podríamos haber estado más contentos con ella. El personal era atento y educado. Nos fuimos llenos y felices😁

Een bezoek gebracht aan de vestiging op het Gelderlandplein. Wat was dat smerig. Vette hap, geen smaak, slechte ambiance.

Unmissable quality! This is one of the best roast duck restaurants I have ever known. The quality is simply irresistible, every dish is delicious, complete, and perfectly balanced in flavor. The duck is wonderfully crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with deep, mouth-watering aromas in every bite. All the other dishes are equally excellent. You can really taste the care put into the preparation, with bold and authentic flavors. It was so good that I couldn’t resist — I even brought some back to France to enjoy it again! This restaurant fully deserves my 5 stars. It is very small, a hidden gem, but absolutely worth the visit. If you love roast duck, this is an address not to be missed. -- 🇫🇷 Unmissable quality! I have been coming to this place for at least 30 years, always nice and tasty food, but today it was very disappointing, time has also stood still (interior) Well, not my restaurant anymore, unfortunately.

During my visit to Amsterdam, I visited this country twice. Both times, I was more than satisfied. The food was served quickly, was very fresh, and tasted great. The service staff was friendly. Prices are typical Amsterdam prices. 😅

The truth is, it doesn't live up to the reviews. The ducks look super appetizing from the outside, but once we got inside, it was truly disappointing. The duck pieces were all bone, the skin was very rubbery and not crispy. Additionally, my partner's and my dishes were brought out 15 minutes apart, even though we both ordered the same thing.

Went with a friend and we ordered the peking duck. The waitress told us that the dish was small enough for one person making us order two. Mine arrived first and was the hardest duck I ever ate, no crispy skin and meat colour was also weird. They brought the other dish almost 15 minutes later and was a considerable amount for sharing. They charge 3.50 for spring water that comes in a bottle they clearly refil from the tap to overcharge you. Wouldn’t go back there or recommend.

In terms of value this is not the place to be. We got two dishes plus the mandatory flat water, and it cost 50ish euros. A couple sitting next to us tried to not order the water, but they were strong armed into doing so. Flavor wise if you're expecting really good Chinese food based on all the reviews, you should temper your expectations. With real chinese food you'll immediately see the difference.

Really good comfort food and not only! We ordered baked oysters - was for sure a unique experience, never seen or eaten them like this before. Definitely recommend - duck in plum sauce and rice with pork belly! Service is fast and for some people might seem rude or direct but I don’t think they mean anything bad, that’s just the way they operate :)

Freshly seasoned vegetables, delicious wonton soup, delicious Peking duck. A clean environment with very hospitable service. A must for the gourmet.

Delicious food and drinks. Drink ice tea with lychee was deliciously refreshing. Then the soup with Peking duck wonton and Peking duck in pancakes. Everything delicious in taste and neat service. It is nice to take a look in the small kitchen and you hear immediately when the meat is cut. Located opposite a beautiful temple.

After finishing a tour of the city, we decided to follow our guide's recommendation and head to Amsterdam's Chinatown, a very popular corner if you fancy good Asian food. We ended up at Nam Kee, a fairly spacious restaurant that, luckily for us, had tables available without a wait. The menu is extensive, with classic Chinese cuisine proposals. When we took a look at the prices, they initially seemed a bit high (as usually happens in this city), but as soon as the dishes arrived we understood why: the portions are huge. So much so that we couldn't finish them. A detail that seemed practical to us was that, in addition to the chopsticks, they leave you a bowl with traditional cutlery (fork, knife, spoon), something that makes the experience much easier for those who are not used to eating with chopsticks. Although the service was correct, we were surprised that when we ordered water they brought us a bottle with a straw directly inside, instead of serving it in a glass. A gesture that gave us the feeling that customer service could be a little more careful, although without becoming a problem. As for the food, the duck was the star dish: tasty, juicy and with just the right crispy skin. Possibly one of the best we have tried. Nam Kee is an interesting option if you are in the area and fancy hearty Chinese food, of good quality and without frills. Ideal to replenish energy after a walk around the city.

Food was great despite being busy. I had a cold beer, steamed oysters, and peking duck and pork belly over rice. Service was a little but disorganized but the food came out surprisingly quick considering how many people were inside. Cozy little restaurant that hides you away from the bustling streets.

Nieuwe locatie Nam Kee Gelderlandplein. Enorme chaos bij binnenkomst. Om af te halen zou het minimaal een halfuur gaan duren. Gelukkig wonen we aan de overkant. Alhoewel gelukkig.... voorgerecht gefrituurde garnalen smaakte naar oud en vieze frituurolie (restaurant is net 2 dagen open....). De brandende olie spoot uit het omhulsel bij de eerste hap. Geen prettige ervaring. De zoetzure kip was net zo'n teleurstelling. De gebakken rijst (6€ extra!) was gewone witte rijst met een paar flinters prei. Niets gebakken. Smakeloos. De zoetzure saus smaakte vroeger uit de glazen potten van Uncle Ben nog beter dan dit! Grote stukken ananas uit blik en in meel gemarineerde, gebakken repen kipfilet. Wat een treurnis. Is dit wat er over ons van het ooit legendarische Nam Kee? En torenhoge prijzen. Ooit was het goedkoop en top. Nu slecht 👎🏾 en belachelijk duur!

If you’re in Europe and craving for good Chinese food, this is your stop. Definitely tryout their wantan soup and meat dished. While the crunchy fried noodles might offer a different texture than I’m accustomed to, its sauce was quite good.

Dinner table 4, without reservation: Very varied menu, the dishes we ordered were very tasty. Also, cold tea is very popular. Very fast and friendly service Nice atmosphere. Furthermore, when the place was full, there was no ambient noise. Good value for money (expensive drinks, but average for Amsterdam)

Geniales Essen, sehr freundlich! Das scharfe Öl war richtig scharf. Die Krabben Dumplings sind sehr zu empfehlen? Wir waren zu fünft, vier Erwachsene, ein Kind.

Authentic Chinese food The noodle soups are slightly more lightly seasoned, but it is the rice and meat dishes that are convincing. This is an absolute recommendation for anyone who doesn't mind if it gets a little cozy in the store!

Nam Kee: familiar to me from a book that I had to read for my reading list a long time ago. They indeed have oyster dishes here. In the 1990s it was not really pleasant here and the service was unfriendly. Now friendly staff and excellent classic Chinese food. We shared one main course and it was fine. Fine!

Nam kee used to be much better. I think the restaurant has been taken over. Food is not as it was and in my opinion no longer tasty. There are hardly any vegetables left in the dishes. It is a faded glory. I used to come there regularly but I won't go there anymore. I'm going to the competitor. Much better. Unfortunately, tourists don't know any better.

Saw this recommendation online. Food overall was really good, especially the aubergine. I’d rate 💯 However, the pork/chicken dish could be better. Not authentic enough ps the price really expensive!!

Nam Kee is a solid Cantonese food spot. The beef stew is a standout, packed with rich flavor and tender meat. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy authentic, comforting cuisine.

The restaurant has had an update, it is all a bit more relaxed and less chaotic. The service is also more international, no longer ordering numbers but just WonTon soup. Remains our regular spot.

Been coming here since the nineties. Came back a few weeks ago. The place has become an extremely expensive tourist trap with mediocre food. Service is fast but only to get you out the door asap to seat new customers.

Very disappointing maybe cause I was a solo travler they did nor care. I ordered Crispy duck with fried rice. 😋 I just got the duck, dropped to the table I might add not actually given to me but the other side of the table. And rice never came I asked for it 3 times and by then id the duck ate I cancelled it@@ why eat rice on its own. Very disappointing as it was highly rated. But I guess they did not care I was eating for 1 and not a big table of 6 or more.

Este es interesante. Había caminado por "Chinatown" y visto que todos los restaurantes estaban llenos de gente. Vi este lugar y comprobé su calificación que no era genial, pero viendo que era poco probable para nosotros para entrar en los otros restaurantes, decidimos probar esto. La comida resultó ser muy sabrosa y eso es realmente importante, por supuesto. El servicio era bueno y básicamente, estábamos bien alimentados.

Me and my friend got both food poisoning… Answer: Both my friend and myself ate the oysters. It was delicious. But we both got sick and tested positive for sea food related poisoning. This was the only spot we ate sea food.

The meal is quite a good value, but eating too much of the meat can be a bit heavy. It would be great to have some tangy side dishes to balance it out.

A must eat in Amsterdam! They had a lot of choices and everything we got was super good. Their fried dumplings and wonton were very crispy and juicy on the inside. Their noodles were very good and had huge portions.

If you’re craving delicious Chinese food, Nam Kee is a must-visit! It’s famous for its roasted duck, BBQ pork, crispy pork, and we tried them all! • Roasted duck – Crispy skin, tender meat, and juicy sauce. Seriously addictive (don’t forget the two sauces and chili oil)! • BBQ pork & crispy pork – Perfectly grilled, tender and crunchy. • Wonton soup – Hot, comforting, and the wontons are stuffed generously! • Salt and pepper squid – A bit salty, but perfect for spice lovers. The atmosphere is lively like a Hong Kong restaurant, and the staff is friendly (one even counted in Thai, which was funny!). If you’re in Amsterdam, Nam Kee is the place to go. It’s just a short walk from Central Station!

They renovated last year, looks better now. We had good lunch here, we love their Peking-duck, pepper beef and fried noodles.

Warning for tourists: in NL the tip is included. As usual, a delicious meal. I wouldn't come up with the combination of pork and oysters myself, but the result is fantastic. The downer is that when paying, a PIN box with a 10% tip set on it is shamelessly given. Especially don't push it.

Our group of 3 people ordered 1 part fried rice, 1 part fried wonton, 1 part stir-fried bok choy, 1 part 3 types of char siu meat, roasted pork, roasted duck with white rice. The food is delicious, the portion is very large so my hedgehog has to try very hard to eat most of it

Normally I can be critical, but there is nothing to complain about here. Very friendly staff, delicious food and great price. I really liked the acoustics - unfortunately that is often disappointing in other places. Definitely come back!

Oh Man The Duck and Pork Are Amazing!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the city center for take outs or dining in with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Food is freshly served within 5-10min. I absolutely recommend the century egg porridge or the stir fried beef noodles. Beware the place can feel a bit like a cramped space, since it’s a small restaurant. Nevertheless overall a great restaurant where you can walk-in to grab a quick bite.

Had the oyster in black bean sauce. And the mix barbecue plate! All was good and authentic Chinese

Simply lovely, simply the best Chinese (Cantonese) food in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. Portions are large, with specialties Peking Duck, roasted pork and steamed oysters (“oesters van Nam Kee”) not to be missed. Won ton noodle soup is a must on cold typical Amsterdam winter days.

Always a party for 30 years. What started out as a Chinese bathroom has become almost homely after the latest renovation. But that's not really what you come for. Real Chinese instead of the most Dutch food we get locally. And the atmosphere at NAM Kee is unique, even with the next generation. Peking duck and crepes always delicious. Thanks!

We have all been regular customers over the years. lovely people real chefs! Great food! Remain my favorite. However, I say do it and you'll never leave again!🥰

After trying Chinese food in a lot of different places, this one is not up to par, mostly chunks of duck or chicken, with a lot of bone, the soup? Tasteless, spring rolls? Poor quality frozen. €20 for a plate of rice, giant pieces of cabbage and 4 pieces of chicken. Well, that's a tourist trap. A complete mistake, apart from the fact that the person who is serving you stays behind you staring, it seems like they want to put pressure on you to leave in less than 25 minutes. A mistake on our part.

Spent €384 on meals that I picked up. Because it was a large order it would take longer than 30 minutes to prepare. To my surprise, the order was ready in no time. Tjaptjoi shrimp: vegetables and shrimp overcooked and clearly not fresh. Foe yong hai was fried egg, chicken fillet with a sweet tasting watery layer of tomato water. I've had better Peking duck there, but it was okay. Steak in black bean sauce, steak was nice and tender but very salty. I can list my entire order but that is pointless. Normally I enjoy eating there, but this time it was clearly just ripped out of the fridge/freezer and heated up. It was a waste of my money.

Dit was vroeger mijn favoriete Chinese restaurant. Helaas is het eten van geurig en smakelijk gewijzigd in smakeloos. De tsa siew was voorheen knapperig en heerlijk gekruid, nu zachte en zwak smakende reepjes kookvlees. Wat is hier de afgelopen tijd gebeurd? Jammer, het is niets bijzonders meer.

I don’ t know because of what component but after noodles with chicken and vegetables which I ordered in this restaurant I felt sick. It was quite suddenly just after I ate it. So unfortunately my experience of visiting it is unpleasant.

Absolute 10/10, by far the best dish I’ve had in the Netherlands. Get the nr 290 on the menu if you like it a bit spicy. Perfect dish, literally perfect. Also the staff is super welcoming and friendly!

We've been visiting nam kee for more than 20 years, but sadly we will not be coming back. The bill has exploded, we paid 190 euros (45 pp) for a meal we always order, it is triple the amount we paid several years ago. And I get that covid and replacing the cheap interior with fancy costs more. But I miss the simpleness, rude and impatient waiters, and the TL lighting. The food is still great, but the value for money, even with the new styling is off.

I had a really poor experience here. Food was bad and felt very unhygienic. Shame
