New Happy Corner in Weesperbuurt/Plantage

Really gorgeous restaurant in the heart of Plantage. I came here with my dad while on a short visit to Amsterdam and this was one of the best places we tried. The decor is gorgeous and the atmosphere is very friendly. All the service staff were incredibly attentive and friendly and they took extra steps to accommodate our dietary requirements and to modify dishes to make them vegetarian. Our food was also delivered extremely quickly; I don't think we waited more than ten minutes for a full five dishes! The food was absolutely delicious and the prices were extremely fair for the portion sizes. The broccoli with Chinese mushrooms, for example, came with a full additional dish of rice or noodles already encompassed within the price!

Nasi Rames Special: Tasteless white rice topped with a lightly fried egg, green beans, coconut, potato chips, bath greens, and two types of meat. Everything! It all went together. In a separate container, there was one satay stick and some babi pangang. Everything was equally tasteless and indistinguishable. They might as well have put everything in a blender. Very expensive baby food! We threw it away and made a grilled cheese sandwich.

We decided to eat here after a good experience years ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The food was very mediocre; neither fresh nor warm. The whole restaurant was also rather dirty, especially the dilapidated restrooms upstairs. The bill was 145 euros. When I asked for the receipt, they said the printer was broken. When I then asked for a printed receipt, there seemed to be a bit of panic. One of the waiters went to work anyway. The bill (see photo) actually came out 13 euros lower. My apology: they accidentally added the drinks from the neighboring table to our bill. I really don't believe that at all. And the printed receipt is also wrong; for example, the foeyonghai cost 18.50 and is listed as 19 on the receipt. I haven't checked the rest, but it's clear they're cheating. Don't go here.

Probably the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. Ordered online to collect, order was accepted but when I came to collect not was available. AVOID AT ALL COSTA

We have been getting takeout from happy corner for a long time and we really like it! Service is always very friendly and fast. My favorites are nasi rames, pangsit and tomato soup

Ate here on the way to the Carre theater. We enjoyed it here because there were more guests in the restaurant than just us, the wait staff is friendly and the food is delicious. We should have discovered this restaurant much earlier.

Ordered food and had it delivered. Was delivered right on time. Delicious old-fashioned Chinese spring rolls, well filled and crispy on the outside. There was also Babi pang gang, Chinese noodles and nasi. It was delicious again👍🏼 Had dinner at one of those really authentic old-fashioned Chinese restaurants. Drove in with the electric wheelchair. Was doable. No wheelchair toilet. Large, but affordable portions. Delicious food. Highly recommended.

We have been customers for a few years, but the price have gone up so much, it's not worth ordering good there anymore. They rip you off and try to scan money of you for every little things. The woman that picked up the phone today didn't even care we didn't wanna order anymore, surcharge after surcharge. The food has been not that good neither and is definitely losing its appeal as a Chinese restaurant. We ordered somewhere else as they lost a valuable customer today. Sometimes you need to move on. There are plenty of other Chinese restaurants in Amsterdam,,who'll be happy to get new customers. Conclusion: bad customer service, only care in making as much money as they can, even if they wanna rip you off, they don't care. The food is too expensive for what you'll get and the quality have diminished and the portions are smaller than ever. Shame on you. So, go somewhere else to order if you wanna save money.

Order cha ciew is lean pork, every piece of meat was pounding with fat, almost no sauce, I added chili sauce myself, then I took a bite of that meat, paid a lot of money for fat, which is supposed to be lean meat. I often get good food there too. but this made no sense

Had the cantonese set for lunch. Instantly satisfied my craving for chinese food back home. IMO is even better than the higher rated sea palace in terms of price and value. The ambience is quiet and comfortable. Definitely recommend.

On the outside you have doubts, just say average Chinese. Friendly welcome inside, food very tasty. The Tipan Babi Pangang is recommended. On the high side in terms of price. It's worth it.

After getting food a few times, we went out for dinner again (with 4 people) and had a delicious meal again. Deliciously crispy Peking duck with pancakes and dim sum, as a main course Chicken with lemon, Babi pangang, Sweet & Sour shrimps and fire shrimps. The babi pangang and the fire shrimp were flambéed at the table. There was so much noodles, Chinese noodles and noodles that we were given the rest to enjoy again at home. It was delicious again.

I have been coming here for years after Artis where I do volunteer work. Always great food and of course recognition. I can cook Indonesian and Chinese well myself, so...

I thought it was suspicious that the food arrived within 15 minutes. It can't be fresh and delivered so quickly, I thought. And it's true too. The food, especially the vegetables and "gado gado" were anything but fresh. It all tasted stale and old. I won't order here again. A friendly delivery person, by the way.

To be frank, if you are an Asian the food here would taste like bland home cooking. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. How I see it, the food and ingredients used are adapted Asian cuisine for the more tame local palate. The Chinese Auntie who owns and runs the place for the past 30 years is a sweetheart and is the lifeblood of the establishment.

Regrettably, my visit to the Chinese restaurant left much to be desired. The culinary offerings were substandard, accompanied by an unjustifiably high price point. The establishment proved unfriendly to families with infants, as the oversized and unsafe baby seat did not align with safety standards. The ambiance was tainted by a discernible smokey scent, and the purported vegan options failed to deliver, one even exhibiting an unexpected chicken-like taste. In summary, I advise steering clear of this establishment for those seeking an authentic and satisfactory Chinese dining experience.

Am Freitagmittag ist nicht viel los im Happy Corner. Der Service ist freundlich. Ich bestelle "Bami Goreng Special" von der umfangreichen Karte. Es ist bekannt, dass asiatische Restaurants ihre Küche an die Essgewohnheiten des jeweiligen Gastlands anpassen. Bami Goreng im Happy Corner kommt mit einer Scheibe Formschinken, einer Fleischsauce und einem Satéspieß, zweckmäßig in einer Metallschale serviert. Die große Portion macht satt. Während des Essens stellt sich heraus, dass meine Tischdecke feucht ist. Wer weiß, was hier vor meinem Besuch passiert ist...? Der Service legt einfach eine weitere Tischdecke darüber. This is one of my favorite and most long-standing restaurants in Amsterdam. It feels like home coming here - it is clean, decorated with love and care, and food feels homemade and delicious. It is great for a group gathering or couple dinner for a relaxing night. The best part is the owner lady. She is so kind, gentle and sweet. Once I had a wisdom tooth surgery and couldn’t eat anything solid for one week. Everyday she would ask the kitchen to make special order of porridge or noodles dishes. I am forever thankful!! ❤️

Dit is nou de derde keer achter elkaar dat we problemen hebben. Over de eerste twee keer ga ik het al niet meer hebben. Maar nu twee uur moeten wachten en koud eten. Dit was echt de laatste keer! Dismal tastes, oversized and grossly overpriced dishes. The friendly auntie that runs the front of house is the only reason this restaurant isn’t getting one star. The satay side consisted of large chunks of chicken meat slathered in thick gravy sauce that is totally unlike the original dish. Large plates of noodles and rice with vegetables cut in large pieces, a sign of complete lack of interest from a chef/cook. The decor is very dated, and an atmosphere where you could hear a pin drop as people were whispering in the dining room. A very poor example of Asian cuisine.

The food is great. The helpings are huge. I suggest not ordering side dishes in addition to the main one unless you're really hungry. It's clean, relaxing music and excellent service. There are vegetarian dishes. If you do not see something in menu, ask. It looks as they can offer more than printed in the menu.

Loempia speciaal heeft enkel taugé en geen ei en groenten. Heel vet. Kippensoep weinig groenten. Saté gaat wel. Kroepoek heel zout en niet luchtig en knisperend. Alles is veel slechter dan vroeger.

Have now been here twice on our visit to Amsterdam and absolutely love this place. The staff are so happy and accommodating even for English speakers. The food was delicious, not what we were used to but absolutely tasty, a fantastic surprise we thoroughly enjoyed. We had the king prawns with curry sauce and the lemon chicken.

Nice spot, close to tram 14, clean but the food is not that great. We had hot and sour soup, it was thick not tasty. Then we got bami with satay and it was also different then we used to eat. Satay came in different plate, noodles were not saucy and it wasn't fried.

在阿大附近最近的一家华人餐厅。我最喜欢吃他们家的炒饭，老板娘人超好，看我去还会给我多一点饭，她家的量本来就很大，我的女同学们都吃不完要打包。我说的炒饭像是盖饭，中午去吃价格不贵，基本不超过10欧。这个盖饭的米饭可以自己选择白饭或者炒饭；我每次都选炒饭，推荐他们家咖喱鸡肉，我的最爱。
