The food was delicious with a cozy ambiance and a super friendly staff. Our favorite dish was the ceviche (we even ordered twice!) Definitely coming back.

Unfortunately, our experience at Night Kitchen did not live up to expectations. The food was mediocre: flavors lacked depth, portions were on the smaller side, and overall the pricing felt excessive for what was served. Service was inconsistent. We were welcomed warmly at first, but the staff pushed heavily towards the “Dinner with Friends” menu and wine pairings. When we declined and ordered just a selection of the most popular dishes, the tone noticeably shifted. What began as friendly turned rushed and inattentive — the vibe quickly became awkward, even a little arrogant — which negatively colored the whole evening. Another point worth mentioning is how the restaurant presents itself as Mediterranean. In reality, it is primarily Israeli cuisine, yet it incorporates dishes that are traditionally associated with Palestinian food culture. This kind of fusion feels careless rather than creative — instead of celebrating authenticity, it comes across as opportunistic branding. Additionally, as part of an international chain with branches in Tel Aviv, the concept feels out of touch with Amsterdam’s dining culture, which values authenticity and genuine culinary identity over flashy branding. Combined with the underwhelming food, the awkward service, and the overall atmosphere, the experience felt pressured and disappointing. This place is clearly overhyped, and I honestly don’t understand how it has such a high rating. We had an amazing experience. Food was great, full of flavours, we ate only the vegetarian ones and were all super happy and satisfied. The staff is also super friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant has also a nice vibe. Super recommend!!

Went went to Night Kitchen on a date night and it was the perfect setting for it. The restaurant is very cozy and the staff are friendly and inviting. The food is very good with the highlight for me being the veal spare ribs. The ribs were tender and feel right off the bone 👌. We also ordered Pictured are the calamari, sardines, veal spare ribs (ate some before the pic - so it was initially presented nicely), grilled sea bass fillet, pistachio tiramisu, chocolate mousse (which is fantastic and gluten free 👏), and the mezcaloma to drink.

Perfect! We went for a team dinner with a group of 15 - the food was delicious and the service was very smooth. They hosted us really well and everyone had a great evening. Will definitely come back! (definitely try the pistachio tiramisu if you see it in the menu - 10/10)

Fantastic experience here with my wife. Our host, Marinos, was very attentive not only in helping us discover new flavors from their excellent menu, but also in understanding the things we already knew we liked. He even came out and had a shot of Frangelico with us! We will definitely be back to the Night Kitchen :)

I don't often write google reviews but honestly this place was so great I wanted to seek it out and leave one! Firstly, it is SO hard to find great service in Amsterdam but our server was an absolute delight. She was so friendly and attentive and she recommended some really great options. I wouldn't have ordered the miso cabbage but it turned out to be one of the top dishes for me. Every dish was really tasty and beautifully presented and I thought it was a really nice touch that they would give out little sample of the cocktails. I have recommended it to several friends already and will also be back for sure!

I may misspell her name but Saschar took care of a girl’s night dinner with my two sisters, my mom, and I. We didn’t really know what to expect, we just stumbled upon this restaurant while on our trip to Amsterdam and Saschar was so helpful and kind, joking with us and preparing a menu for us based on our likes. We didn’t have a reservation but we were able to be accommodated either way (lucky us!) My mom has never really tried Mediterranean cuisine and she was craving a steakhouse so she was a little hesitant when we first started but each round of dishes delighted her even more. We loved every single item but I fell in love with the ceviche, the gnudi, and the carpaccio. We had 4 rounds of food, some sample shots, and about 3 bottles of wine. All in all, it was a very reasonable price for the amount of food, quality, and flavor. We left happy and very full and my mom is now delighted with Mediterranean cuisine.

We loved this place and will definitely visit again. The food was delicious, and the lady who took care of us was very kind and explained the dishes to us in great detail, which is really important to me. Without us even asking, she guided us perfectly. She also brought us a complimentary shot, which was such a sweet gesture. The portions were really filling, and the prices were very reasonable.

This place was incredible. I have a food intolerance that is quite difficult to work around and the staff continuously checked in with me to make sure that they were handling it correctly. It was fantastic! I had the tasting menu with one other person and all of the food was incredible. The lamb and pistachio tiramisu in particular were fantastic. The service was also great. Our server was super friendly and checked in at the perfect intervals to collect our courses and bring out whatever was next.

Can not say enough good things about this place. There’s so many choices in Amsterdam I found myself torn with places to choose for a birthday/wedding dinner. Let me say that this, was probably the best choice we could have made. From the atmosphere, to each plate having unique flavors and concepts. We had a group of 7 and chose to go with the shareable plates. Not only did each plate exceed any expectation in terms of flavor, but also quantity. As the hostess said, you won’t leave hungry. The hostess was the sweetest person I think I’ve ever dealt with in the food industry. Funny, attentive, and all around couldn’t have done her job any better. Thank you guys for a great night ! Won’t forget it.

Delicious food made with great ingredients, lovely wine, cozy atmosphere, and kind service. We didn’t do the shared dinner, but every dish impressed. We tried lamb, sea bass and ribs. The portions are not huge, so we also shared some calamari. A charming spot—definitely recommend!

We could say it was our best night and meal in Amsterdam! The food was exceptional, the service made you want to sit and enjoy it, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We chose the 3-course menu with unlimited drinks/alcohol included for 2 hours and 30 minutes, and it was more than enough to leave happy and satisfied! A gem of Amsterdam

It was my first visit but it was nice.

One of the very few restaurants I could find with an open kitchen after 10pm in Amsterdam. The service and the food were amazing! The idea is to order different plates and share, which is great because you can easily try almost all the menu. There’s also the possibility to have a custom menu (for 2 people). They have great cocktails to accompany your meal. BTW, they have a restaurant side and a bar side, so you can also only get drinks. I went there with a friend and since we had had late lunch that day, unfortunately we weren’t super hungry :/ so we only tried 3 dishes. I hope I can come back soon to try the rest. Would totally recommend and come back!

Incredible meal and cocktails. We didn’t plan on the sampling menu, but I would highly recommend doing that. We had the bread (to die for), ceviche, miso cabbage, and ricotta dumplings. Everything was exceptional, including the service.

We had a really nice evening here. Just the two of us, sitting at the bar – which was actually a great spot. We even got to chat a bit with the bartender, who was super friendly. The food was excellent – well-cooked, with creative and tasty combinations. Also a nice variety of vegetarian options, which is always a plus. I’d definitely recommend sharing a few dishes (we had 3 for 2 people), it’s a great way to try more things. Wine selection was also on point. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but we knew that coming in – and honestly, the quality and the overall experience made it worth it. Would absolutely recommend.

Great food, atmosphere, and service - strongly recommend. I came for my birthday dinner with 3 friends and we chose the “dinner with friends” option (two chose with the drinks package, the other two without). This was a great pick as there were spectral items on the menu that sounded great, and gave us the opportunity to eat our non-negotiable (which we highlighted), and try some other bites. All the wait staff were lovely, especially our main waitress Noni (apologies if I heard your name wrong!). And we were all more than happy to return for future dinners, etc.. Be sure to visit!! Great for a date night, dinner with loved ones, or anything in between

We went there to have a nice experience and enjoy ourselves. We made a reservation for 5 people in total and stated this on the phone. However, they did not tell us that they did not have a table for 5 people and instead sat us at a large table with others right next to the door at the entrance. It was very difficult to keep conversation between us. The waiter was very sweet and very attentive but the food was averagely delicious. The prices are normal and the atmosphere is not bad.

We had a very bad experience here, and honestly, I’m baffled by the number of glowing reviews. Oh boy, where to begin? We arrived 10 minutes late for our reservation. Fair enough, our mistake. But the staff made very sure we wouldn’t forget it. By the time we reached our table, we’d already been told five times that we’d need to hurry up despite having a 2,5-hour time slot. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing. Our waiter then explained that, because of our lateness, he’d have to compress the usual 3 - 4 “rounds” into just 2. At this point, we were only about 15- 20 minutes into our reservation, so this felt unnecessarily punitive but we went along with it. We were served three dishes per “round,” but only got one glass of wine by the time we were well into the second round. When we asked about the wine pairing, we were told there’s no pairing per se, just “unlimited house wines”. Sorry, what? What is this—an all-you-can-drink buffet in Costa del Sol? The system seems designed to sell the idea of a pairing but then serve as little wine as possible. It felt misleading, if not outright dishonest. I’m giving two stars instead of one only because the food itself was decent. Unfortunately, it got worse. After the second (and final) round of dishes, we finally got our second glass of wine. We were still due a small dessert, so we asked for a wine to go with that. The answer? “That’s not included.” My friend was livid. After some back-and-forth with the manager, they reluctantly gave us a small pour of dessert wine. And then, this really takes the cake, they brought the bill 45 minutes early, with nearly an hour still left in our slot! When we asked why, we got vague shrugs and zero accountability. I’ve only walked out of a restaurant without paying once in my life, and this came dangerously close to being the second. I grew up in this neighborhood and have walked past Night Kitchen countless times. I finally gave it a try. And now I honestly don’t understand why this place exists, or why people come here.

Calamari and the desert was amazing!

Me and my friend were sat at the bar, and bartender was chatting to us a lot, which is usually fine, but he was super rude it that casual chat and literally interrupting my private conversation with friend all the time. In terms food, it is pretty good, but the portion of main dish if very small, i paid 19€ for 5 asparaguses, which is wild.

Absolutely delicious Mediterranean food! Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The standout for me was the pistachio tiramisu — a must-try! It’s the perfect twist on a classic, and I’m still dreaming about it. It was quite warm inside during the summer heat. It would be great if they could turn on the AC to make the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic spot with amazing food — I’ll definitely be back!!

Had such a wonderful time here. All the staff was super nice, especially Spencer who got our order and came to check on us. He had great recommendations and was very kind. The restaurant was quiet and I loved the ambiance of it. Lovely lovely night and of course their dishes were amazing too. What an experience! Totally recommend.

Really top class meal, 10/10 for food / drinks / waiting staff / atmosphere. Marino was our server who advised us to take the Dinner With Friends option and we’re so glad we did. Tailored courses to us after questions from Marino with suggested paired wines for each course and extra free shots on top of this. Food was unreal, great value with generous portions, special mention to the ceviche, prawns and veal ribs, as well as the delicious bread and roasted aubergine spread. Delicious wine choices and great attentive service. If I’m back in Amsterdam again, nightkitchwn will be the first on my list for food!

This was one of the best places I've eaten at for a while. If you go here, I urge you to do 'dinner with friends' with the alcohol pairings if you like a drink. You get more than your moneys worth with the quality of the food and wines/cocktail shots they prepare to compliment the meal. I loved leaving the menu in the (very capable) hands of Marino our host who selected a fab range of dishes for us. Having someone else choose what you eat meant we didn't just go for what we know which lead to great surprises and real favourites being found. Definitely eat here if you go to Amsterdam, you won't regret it!

Amazing amazing amazing. It’s not often in Amsterdam that you get a combination of excellent service, quality food and interesting / exciting flavour combinations. Our server Mia was such a ball of sunshine and made our evening. We went for the tasting menu and can’t recommend it enough. Great wine, excellent combinations and generous portions. The calamari dish was honestly one of the best dishes I have tasted in a really long time. The veal ribs were falling off the bone. Everything we had was just incredible. But for me, it doesn’t matter how good the food is if the service doesn’t meet a certain standard. From the minute we were seated we felt very well looked after, and that made the experience all the more special. Can’t wait to come back 🫶🏻

I can’t say enough good things about this place! We found it through a frantic google search for a nice place for my birthday after realizing that everything closed early near our hotel in Zaandam. We were able to make a reservation for the same night and were welcomed warmly when we arrived. The service, food, and atmosphere were all top notch. The food was sooo delicious, I could have licked the plate. We received a couple of free house shots along with the drinks we ordered which were absolutely delicious. To top it off, they made my birthday feel really special with a song, candles, and a free Negroni with a sweet note to take home. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Just had one of the best meals of our trip at Night Kitchen in Amsterdam—seriously, wow. My husband and I love tapas, but this was next level. We booked “Dinner with Friends” and every dish was incredible, from the fresh veggies and homemade bread to the fish, sauces, and that unreal pistachio tiramisu (still thinking about it). The vibe is super warm and welcoming, and Marinos and Manolis made us feel like family—so friendly and fun to chat with. Oh and the cocktails were so creative, perfectly balanced, and honestly some of the best we’ve had anywhere. We even got chatting with strangers at the bar (highly recommend). It felt more like dinner at a friend’s house than a restaurant, but with Michelin-level food! If we lived here, we’d be regulars. Highly recommend for friends, couples, foodies, or anyone looking for a memorable dinner in Amsterdam. 10 out of 10 experience!

Unique place in Amsterdam, food, service and ambience really outstanding.

I showed up to Night Kitchen not expecting the highest of high, just hoping for a solid meal with some good seafood and meat before leaving Amsterdam. But what I got was easily one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Europe. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is Michelin-level, and Maya’s service made the night unforgettable. We were originally planning to each order our own dishes and share a few, but Maya gently convinced us to go with the “Share With Friends” package. At first we were unsure, but wow… it turned out to be the best decision. The amount and variety of food we got for the price was unbelievable. We were blown away by the freshness and flavor of every single dish: bright and zesty ceviche, perfectly crisp calamari, buttery sashimi, and the best cauliflower I’ve had in my life (not exaggerating). The mussels and house bread with butter were next-level. We left totally full, but wishing we could do it all over again. If you’re in Amsterdam and want a dinner that’s memorable, generous, and genuinely special, Night Kitchen is it. Seriously can’t recommend it enough. Ask for Maya!

After reading all the good reviews, I was curious about this restaurant but still skeptical due to the standard in Amsterdam. No, it didn’t surprise me in a good way. I was expecting flavor explosion since it’s Mediterranean inspired cuisine but unfortunately most of the dishes were bland. It seems the foods have got localized, adapted to the Dutch market. Entire evening I was looking for saltiness, acidity and more flavors (fresh herbs and spices) until the last desert. Small portion (especially artichoke dish) and relatively simple dishes. Price-to-quality ratio is poor. There are better restaurants in Amsterdam, we will not return.

Excellent food! Friendly and attentive staff. We had their sour dough, Thai salad, Lamb Stew and gnocchi and finished with a pistachio teramisu. The sour dough is from a famous bakery nearby. Everything was excellent except for the teramisu which was a little underwhelming, maybe becos there's no alcohol?

This review is a message to ownership/chef of the restaurant. We had booked the only reservation available for the evening (Sunday) for an inside table which was for 21:30. When we were given an explanation of the menu, we were told we could do the "Dinner with Friends + Beverage Package" for 2.5 hours including "up to 100 rounds" of food (per your amazing server) and all 3 desserts. We were extremely happy until it was 10:45pm and the kitchen was closing with no warning. The server told us that the 1 of the food items was out because the staff had already eaten it and so we had asked to do one more round of food before dessert. When we were ready for dessert, we heard the chef say "here's dessert for your friends who like to eat". When he only brought out one dessert, we asked why we didn't receive the others and he went and asked the chef if we could have the remainder. We only received one more so at that point we paid and left. It's one thing to be an angry chef for working late, but to let your guests feel that spending $171 euros is a burden on you, and as uncomfortable as we were was an unfortunate end to a great dinner. Why let us book a 2.5 hour experience and let us PAY if we can't enjoy it?

The atmosphere is nice; late night shared dining. We sat at the bar, which was very gezellig. Kitchen is open till 23:30. Food is ok but a bit expensive 15 euro average for small bites), the wines are good but expensive (9 euro for a glass).

It was a great experience! From the moment we arrived, the attention and care was really high-level. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and did their job with love. I haven't seen such hospitality in a long time. As for the food... Everything was perfect! The flavors were fresh, meticulous and really appealed to our palate. It was very successful in terms of both presentation and taste. The ambiance was also very enjoyable; both comfortable and stylish. It's hard to find such quality service and taste together, so this is definitely a place we will go back to. Thank you for everything, congratulations to everyone who contributed! 👏

Night Kitchen is, for me, a must eat in Amsterdam. The staff is very approachable and friendly, whilst still maintaining class. The food was done in a matter of minutes yet was done perfectly. The kitchen is perfectly conceptualised and, due to it being a very open concept kitchen, is truly a wonderful sight to watch. Whilst there is a time limit to the reservations and one can tell there are rules to be followed, the feel of the restaurant is relaxed yet professional. The bar offers very tasty cocktails and invites customers to converse with the server. Overall a 5/5, a truly wonderful experience, I will definitely be returning

We tried different dishes which was quite helpful since it was our first time. However, there is also the a la carte option.. the service was excellent and everyone was super helpful.. last but not least the atmosphere was really nice and cozy. Will definitely come back :)

Yesterday we had dinner at the Night Kitchen. After reading the many reviews, my partner and I also chose the "Dinner with friends" homemade menu. Our very friendly waitress asked us several questions and then she started to put together our menu. My partner doesn't eat meat so wanted vegetarian (but fish) and I had indicated that I really liked meat. Quite quickly, all kinds of delicious dishes came our way. Everything tasted delicious. Well seasoned, tasty sauces, excellently prepared and beautifully served. The only point is that no meat dishes were served to us that evening. If that means that I have to go back again, I don't mind at all.

Based on positive reviews we really expected something more… the bread with butter was delicious, ceviche not very exciting (not that much flavour), we liked the cauliflower salad tho but we think the cauliflower was a bit overcooked, lamb with pea sauce was cold, and the pea sauce tasted a bit like sand with no depth of flavour, lamb was not salted enough but very nicely soft. The service was awesome and we feel like it made up for not being so satisfied after the dinner.

We were looking for somewhere for a nightcap on a Saturday night and Night Kitchen was an excellent find. We were given seats at the bar and had two great cocktails (one of which was off menu and very happily accommodated). Friendly staff too, would definitely recommend.

Great spot for any night of the week. I got to meet a bit of the Staff & they were fun/nice, food was delicious & drinks were great. I got the tuna sashimi & sea bass. All really fresh & tasty. It’s especially a great later in the evening bite on a weeknight. Would definitely go again. Great for a group, date night or a solo at the bar.

Guys, as a professional hater, I can confirm there is nothing to hate here. The whole experience was top notch. - It was easy to get a reservation through the website (the same day), we were led straight to our table. - Our server was super nice and friendly, she also managed to bring each course with an appropriate amount of time between each. Not too long, not too short. - The atmosphere was super cosy, like you were in the lush cave biome in Minecraft. - **The food was BOMB. So much variety, every dish was unique. Since we did the ‘Dining with friends’ option, our server chose dishes for us according to some questions she asked beforehand, and every single dish was amazing. They combined foods and flavors I wouldn’t even have considered. Things I don’t even like suddenly tasted good. - To finish it off, it didn’t even cost much considering how much we ate and how good the quality was. - (They also showered us with very tasty free shots.) To keep it short, you must go here. Experience it yourself. It is absolutely worth it.

Esta fue nuestra última comida en Amsterdam antes de volver a casa. El menú ofrece una gran variedad de platos pequeños, por lo que es fácil de probar muchas cosas. The homemade gnudi was amazing—soft, rich, and full of flavor—and the ceviche was fresh, with surprising flavors, and perfectly balanced. Every dish feels thoughtful and fresh, but not over-the-top fancy. What really makes this place shine, though, is the atmosphere—it’s got that effortless charm that makes you want to stay all night.
