Obba's Foodbar Markthal in Rotterdam Centrum

Stopped in for a quick drink and snack before heading back home. Very friendly and the cheese platter was delicious.

Being in the Markthal, we wanted to try a lot of things. We tried the traditional Falafel, fresh and crispy. We would definitely like to come back and try more.

Had a burger and the Mrs. pizza. The burger was €12, a whopper, so it was a good match: it tasted excellent. Fresh baby spinach, lots of vegetables, with a layer of garlic on a great hamburger bun. The service was friendly, and the owner pops in for a chat every now and then, which we appreciate. It's a cozy location with a great atmosphere. I went for an Affligem, well-poured, with clean glasses and a nice, clean collar. The Mrs. was also excellent, and for around €15 or €20, you're covered for a snack and a drink. We'll definitely be back.

As a tourist from France, I highly recommend this place for the generous atmosphere from the chef, the burgers are very good. The atmosphere is really good. Everything is good there.

Staff came quickly to take the order, he runs all the time, respect for the man in charge! Order also arrived at the table quickly and the cocktails were delicious! Lots of ice cubes, but where isn't that? Worth 5 stars! Price was okay, not that expensive for the market hall I think (€12/€13 per drink.)

Hospitality like this is the reason I like to go somewhere and come back; personal, warm, quick and guest-oriented. A wonderful Saturday afternoon with beer, bitterballen, wine, oysters (from the neighbors) and unexpected conversations with strangers. Delicious!

Worst place I have been to for drinks. It just looks lovely from outside. We went 20 mins before the store was closing. If they didnt wanna serve us they should have told us. We ordered pink gin and some local beer. First she told us its the beer is not available. So we asked if second one is there. She never brought it after asking her. The pink gin was a total ripoff for 12 euros. There was barely any gin and lot of ice. The first waitress just went home after taking our order. The rest of the staff didnt bother to ask what we wanted. Do not go here at all. Worst experience ever. She still had the audacity to ask for tip . If you dont want to serve the customer then just tell them we are cleaning up. Really terrible place. Tourist ripoff. I would give it a zero star if there was an option. Oh really. First of all we were inside before 20 mins. It you didnt wanna wait on us just tell us to go. We order a beer and you dont bring it. You give us weird looks. We are tourists not locals. You have the audacity to tell this to me. Honestly be a little professional

Obviously one of the most popular places in the market hall, the terrace was also quickly full at lunchtime. But we still got a place. The food was tasty, even if it didn't arrive at the same time for two people, and the drinks also took a while. Still a great experience and the view into the hall is also a pleasure.

Really bad...sinking ship, where is the fresh home-made food like I know mezze? Food is deep-fried or ready-heated. Ready-made yakitori from the Mediterranean? Served cold? Returned, heated in the microwave and served partly burnt! Nachos muuwaahh, but rather personal Calamari is ok Ordered margharita pizza, passed on again after a long wait. After waiting again the oven turned out...but canceled due to lack of time. Pizza still delivered!! It also turns out to be a ready-made base...with a lump of dough in my stomach into the evening... No, sorry not again, 71 euros still missing. Drinks fine, staff friendly. But still support the sale of quality products.

I already loved eating here but now they have cocktails to go? What a briljant concept. After having a porn star martini i. The Markthal, I took one to go and enjoyed it in my hotelroom.

Tourist Scam. We ordered 1 Pina Colada (just ice - not even 1 ml Alcohol in this beverage) and 1 Beer, half of beer was FOAM! 20€ for 2 beverages.

The service was really good: very nice staff and the food arrived fast. Big portions and interesting garnish. Despite it being in a crowded hall, the atmosphere was very cozy!

Were there twice. Had cocktails once, I can highly recommend the mojito! On the second day we had mulled wine, which was prepared with a lot of love. The waiter was super friendly and even gave us a drink on the house because we had to move. I can highly recommend it. Unfortunately we didn't eat anything.

This was the second time in a short time that we have eaten a delicious dish there. Everything was really tasty. The cook is perfect and so is the service. Super nice guy. Highly recommended!!

I really have no idea what all those 1 star reviews are about because damn, we were enjoying ourselves here on a Friday afternoon in the sun. How delicious simple bruscettas can be with three different toppings! Lovely generous glass of wine and genuine attention and friendliness from the service. Even though we were only there for a short time, we were welcomed like royalty and felt like we were on a mini vacation. Worth a big 5 stars! Period!

Bad poma, martinis that come out of a machine and are not freshly made. Tastes very bitter. 13 euros for questions, you will be dropped off where you stand..

Very substandard, I'm writing this while I'm still sitting here. Ordered cocktails for €19, glass full of ice and drinks were already completely gone. All cocktails very pale, mocktails have more flavor and are cheaper… Food/snacks are also sad, baguette that is completely weak due to the toppings, nachos with tomato puree... Really not worth it and now we still have to pay €80 for things we really didn't like.

Was visiting from UK and we came upon this little gem. The cocktails were a delight, beer excellent and staff friendly.

The email below explains it!! Conzalis We have a very busy establishment in our beautiful Rotterdam father mother and an annoyingly restless child!! Mother a wine father half a liter of beer nothing eaten. When I saw that my father had asked for attention three times with a 4-year-old child with his/her shoes on the table where our guests were eating, but received no response, I spoke to the man more loudly, saying that I find it distasteful when people eat there and certainly do not wear their shoes over their feet. can go to the table and dance where my hostess eats with notes and values, but yes, they were also quite sloppy people. Very bad service. The older lady behind the bar is very rude. I guess she is the owner otherwise I can’t understand why she is still working there. Shouting to the clients, is no way to say anything. Even less in front of kids. The waiter had to apologise for the scene she did… When politely confronting her before leaving she started shouting again and even had the nerve to tell me how to handle my daughter. As if I was going to take the advice of a frustrated woman with serious anger problems. There are many other places to visit with nice people. Avoid this one.

We ordered drinks and a mix table to share (pointing out in the menu what we wanted to be 100% clear). i asked jupiler to drink and the waiter said there were run out of jupiler so i asked something else but after they kept serving jupiler to other customers. We get the drinks but after 20 minutes waiting for the food i asked where was our food and the waiter said “sorry, wasnt ordered” and he just left. The worst, beside being left without our food was that the waiter didnt even care and he just left. Never going to that place again 👎🏻

We hebben lekker gegeten bij Obba's, we hadden gekozen voor de Mezze Deluxe. Er zaten veel lekkere hapjes bij, maar ook wat vettige shaorma en patat en gefrituurde dingen, dat vonden we iets minder. Service was heel vriendelijk, met humor, erg leuk. We hadden een hoge tafel aan het looppad, je ziet dan veel, maar het was heel druk in de Markthal en de mensen kijken het eten dan ook echt wel van je bord af, klein nadeel van onze tafel.

Heerlijk genoten bij Maaike! Bediening was top! Heerlijke rotterdamse humor wat ik soms best mis. Eten was heerlijk! Bediening is snel ondanks de drukte en blijft heel aardig. Wij hebben genoten bij jullie en raden deze plek zeker aan! Dikke knuf ut Fryslan! X

Do yourself a favor and don’t stop here. The server was in so much of a rush that explictly telling him I wanted just 1 shwarma (not 2) went unheard. I literally told him 3 times. Then the shwarma came out and he tried to tell me I ordered 2 - but eventually took 1 back. Thankfully, because it was avg at best and would not have wanted to eat 2 Then the bill came and saw they charged me 1 Euro for a tiny little paper cup of ketchup for my fried and 5 Euros for a tiny bottle of water. Biggest waste of 25 Euro ever.

La comida que hemos pedido está muy bien elaborada. La parte mala es que no ofrecieron servilletas para limpiarnos las manos y tampoco tenían disponibles. Por lo que la calidad es buena pero el servicio no está a su altura. Es algo que deben solucionar.

Bediening was oké, ze stond er alleen en was supervriendelijk, maar het eten daarentegen 👎 De mezze platter voor 2 personen is overpriced, er zat een haar in de pasta salade en de hummus smaakte naar sigaretten 🤢

Vandaag hier heerlijke gegeten! We kwamen hier rond half 2 en we zaten aan de bar. Het zat goed vol, maar de bediening was heel snel met het eten en drinken. En het werd mooi geserveerd en het was heerlijk!

Went here for a small bite and a drink on a Saturday afternoon. The place was crowded and I was unsure whether the place would have service or it was order at the bar. Stood at the bar for 5-10 minutes without being attended to, despite staff walking around. After waiting I overheard a staff member saying they do serve tables, so I sat down - only to wait for another 10 minutes to order. Once we ordered we had to wait for another 10-15 minutes for a glass of wine, after my friend asked for it. The wines - pino grigio brut and chardonnay - were nice and we enjoyed sitting at the place, experiencing the vibe of the markthal. Besides drinks, we also ordered food at the same time, but it took more than half an hour and asking the staff again - only to be served half of our food order. The spreads platter with Turkish bread was ok, but nothing special. At paying the bill the staff member seemed proud to be able to deduct one food item off the bill (which we never received anyway) and tried to convince us that the service was ok considering how busy it was. Could've expected it, considering markthal is a tourist attraction, but safe to say I'm never visiting this foodbar again. Plenty of nicer spots to go around in the area.

We have been there just for drinks, in one of the hottest days of the year. But the level of service indicated it would have been great no matter what. Good music and a very friendly staff! We will get back for sure.

Lieu au top. Nourriture sans prétention et super bonne. Prix corrects et surtout le personnel est agréable, souriant, chaleureux... bref ne pas hésiter à s'y arrêter.

Lekker eten, erg vriendelijke lui

Markthall iicnde oturulacak En guzel mekan kesinlikle Tavsiye ederim.

Lekkere barbites mix gegeten. Het was alleen héél erg druk waardoor mijn strawberry daquiri helemaal niet was wat hij moest zijn. Die was niet in orde. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. We komen zeker nog eens terug.

Niet meer wat het geweest is helaas… eten was te lang gegaard en daardoor erg droog. Bediening kwam niet vragen of het smaakte en of we nog iets wilden drinken. Al met al een tegenvaller

Came here during a visit to the Market Hall - the sharing platter for two was fantastic, and contrary to other reviews, we thought the price was decent and appropriate for the food we received. Food tastes excellent and the young lady that served us was very nice and helpful. Would recommend
