Old Scuola in Rotterdam Centrum

3e keer geprobeerd.. de bediening is echt vreselijk, er is weinig keuze, eigenlijk alleen pizza’s waarvan de ham AB-SO-LUUT!!! Niet meegebakken kan worden. Ik heb het idee, dat je bijna op je blote knietjes moet om hier a) te mogen eten en b) goed geholpen zou kunnen worden. Ik ben er klaar mee, over en uit! Alternatieven genoeg in de buurt! Pffff o pazzo al 30 jaar still going strong!

Estoy extremadamente decepcionado y sorprendido por nuestra experiencia en Old Scuola. Los cuchillos afilados se dejaron a la intemperie, colocados descuidadamente en la barra, completamente expuestos e inseguros. Un amigo mío accidentalmente pasó junto a ellos y se lesionó. Lo que es aún más alarmante es que el personal nos dijo que no había botiquín de primeros auxilios disponible y que no había personal certificado de respuesta de emergencia (BHV’er) presente. Su única sugerencia era sentarse afuera y esperar una ambulancia. No había ayuda real, ni sentido de urgencia o responsabilidad. Para empeorar las cosas, todavía se nos pidió que pagáramos la cuenta de nuestras bebidas como si nada hubiera pasado. Este nivel de negligencia es completamente inaceptable. Un restaurante debe priorizar la seguridad y estar totalmente preparado para manejar emergencias. Realmente espero que tomen esto en serio e implementen cambios inmediatos antes de que alguien resulte herido aún más severamente.

La nourriture était super bonne et ils avaient un dessert délicieux. L’ambiance était très agréable et j’ai passé un bon moment. J’aimerais bien y retourner un jour !

Visitamos este restaurante para almorzar en un día soleado y es encantador. La comida deliciosa: nos dieron la burrata, los scampi y pizzas y todo estaba genial. Gran ambiente también. El único problema era el servicio: solo una persona trabajando ese turno, y no con una gran actitud, lo que empeoró un poco la experiencia. ¡Regresaría!

Terrible experiencia. Partiendo de un personal sin experiencia que no tiene idea de lo que están haciendo. Precios locos y ridículos. 7 €, 50 € por un vaso medio lleno de Chardonnay. Comida de calidad. Nada espectacular, solo un restaurante caro y demasiado pretencioso. Al salir, pidiendo la cuenta vi que vendían helados. Pedí 2 cucharadas. El servicio no tenía idea de cómo hacerlo, y fue un pánico total. Entonces pagué la cuenta, comprobé la cuenta al salir y vi que pedían 5 , 50 € (! ) por cucharada! Me sorprendió y sentí que les gusta que solo estén tratando de robar Rotterdam y ganar dinero rápido ellos mismos. En reacción a mi contacto por correo electrónico simplemente solo me dieron la explicación de por qué los precios son así "vino bio orgánico bla bla", "helados caseros bla bla". Pero nunca más volvieron a mi correo electrónico (s) solicitando una compensación. € 80 gastado en nada! ¡Qué vergüenza la vieja escuola y especialmente Grand Locale!

Hele mooie zaak met goed eten. Ik vond persoonlijk het personeel langzaam te werk gaan en jammer om te zien dat er alleen mannen aan het werk waren die niet allemaal evenveel werk plezier uitstraalde.

Ho cenato con i miei amici in questa pizzeria durante il mio soggiorno a Rotterdam. Arrivato nel locale alle 20-55 faccio presente che avevo prenotazione ci viene detto subito che sarà possibile mangiare solo la pizza perché non è più possibile prendere gli antipasti. Per ed i miei amici non è un problema, chiedo se è possibile avere il tavolo al piano rialzato ma ci viene detto di no ed anche questo lo accogliamo senza problemi. Ordiniamo le pizze e da bere ed al momento di ricevere le birre alla spina ci dicono che la macchina delle birre a subito un guasto quindi ci danno quella in lattina e dopo 5 minuti la macchina della birra alla spina riprende a funzionare... Chiedk se c'è uno coca cola ma loro come da menu' non ne hanno. Arrivano le pizze che sono discrete per essere all'estero ed il mio amico chiede del sale da metter sopra ma la saliera è rotta quindi gliene portano un po' sfuso in una ciotola. A fine cena vedo che servono il limoncello ad un altro tavolo e ne chiedo un bicchiere per me e mi dicono che il bar è chiuso. Giuro pensavo di essere in una candid camera. A quel punto ci alziamo pago il conto ed ovviamente mi viene da pensare a mai più!

Pizzas are crazy good damn delicious. The best in the Netherlands.

The food was really nice. I had tiramisu and pizza Melanzane, it was amazing. However, the staff didn’t seem that nice when we had a complaint about one of the burnt pizzas.

One of the best pizzas I've eaten in the Netherlands. You can also take them frozen to take home. Service excellent, but it was Monday evening, so not busy. We will definitely come back

Anyone having 2+ hours to spend waiting should go there. The pizza is really good. Also 5 euros for 70 cl of filtered water is unacceptable.

What you get on the table is a good product, but the evening is a 0.0 experience. They work with time slots of 2 hours, which is not clear when making the reservation or in the confirmation email. At least not if you reserve with a Google account. This is an unpleasant surprise upon arrival. The pizza was on the table within 5 minutes of ordering, as was the dessert. So you don't have to worry that you won't make it within those 2 hours, because the store is designed to get you out the door as quickly as possible. And you notice that in everything. The staff makes little or no contact with the people at the table. And there is certainly no laughter, not even among each other. In addition, the entire staff speaks English, including the person who receives you. Not very hospitable. You can leave a comment when making the reservation, unsuspectingly we did this in Dutch. Zero attention was paid to that too. To top it all off, we wanted an espresso martini with our tiramisu but, we were told, they didn't have one all week. First of all, that is a bad thing, because those ingredients could of course have been purchased elsewhere during the week if there were problems with the supplier. But we received no other suggestions or excuses. When we indicated that we wanted to take a closer look at the menu, the tiramisu was already on the table. Exceptionally, we left without leaving a tip. And go drink that esma at Jigger, a few places away. The staff visited there regularly and they made nice contact. And we were welcomed with a carafe of table water, which is certainly not available at Old Scuola. Only water for a fee. In terms of experience it was a night and day difference. We like to spend something, but unfortunately we didn't even get the chance to do so here.

Pizza margherita et 4 fromages pas bonne malgré le four a bois. limonade pas bonne. Elle etait plate. Aperol spritz pas bon.

Buena comida, pero no puedo pasar 3 horas 30 minutos para pizza antipasti y postre. Al parecer para los camareros no es un problema. La última vez que comí en este lugar.

Very good pizza, inventive, a bit different, definitely recommended, The atmosphere is industrial and a bit cold, some will find it beautiful, some will miss "conviviality" or tyrantinism, I think it's fine

Disappointment. The host stopped us when entering the restaurant. We had to wait, while the restaurant literally had three occupied tables, after all, it was only 6:00 PM. Then the host casually started folding napkins. What do you mean hospitality. We were then led to a table next to the toilet. Quite strange to specifically lead one of your first guests to this table without asking what our preference was. Well, after switching places, the pizzas arrived on the table. The dough is wet but rich in flavor. There is a wide choice of toppings. Some are tastier than others. We were not over-the-moon enthusiastic about the price/quality ratio. Another minus; the 44 CL beer from Crak Brewery costs 8.5 euros, but they serve a 33 CL beer, that's not possible! In short, we were a bit disappointed at Old Scuola Centrum. Not recommended.

It was the best pizza I ate in the Netherlands. The dough and sauce were very delicious. The service was very smooth. The place itself is also very nice.

Pizza is real napolitan. Delicous and tasty however price is more than double of the pizza in Napoli ;) Visited one more time, 40 minutes waiting for a pizza is unbelievable.

We booked a table for seven, which I understand is a tricky reservation. But they squeezed two tables by the door, with bar stools without back support, and two tables put so close to each other and the other side close to the pillar so that it’s impossible to get out to go to the bathroom. So we just went through under the table. Which is a quite annoying and humiliating experience. We had different pizzas. Four cheeses was the best. Meat pizzas were good too. Pizza with aubergines was blank and tasteless. No spices or salt… Wine was not great either. A very mediocre experience for a place with queues and reservations in advance.

I had reserved a table for my family and me, looking forward to a pleasant evening at your restaurant. Unfortunately, we encountered unexpected traffic on our way, delaying our arrival. To our shock and dismay, as we were en route, I received an email notifying me that our reservation had been canceled. This experience has left me incredibly disappointed. Hospitality is about welcoming and accommodating guests, but what happened today felt far from that. It feels like guest satisfaction is no longer a priority, and the focus is solely on maximizing profit by ensuring every seat is constantly filled. With this approach, I regret to say that we won’t be returning. True hospitality considers the guest's experience first; unfortunately, this was lacking today.

Extremely unfriendly staff - they really made us feel uncomfortable and just cancelled our reservation after we said that we would go for drinks somewhere else and come back later as we were a bit too early.

Very good Neapolitan pizza, high and soft crust, super fast service and pleasant atmosphere. An excellent pizza for being in Holland, however perhaps a little heavy, I would have cooked it a little more. But anyway congratulations for the nice place :)

The truth is that we were convinced by the good reviews but we were completely disappointed. The pizza was very average without enough toppings, the arancini tasty and the bruschettas very tasty. The service was terrible!!! We asked for tap water and we wanted a 2nd bottle for a group of 4 people and they told us that they charge 4.5€ for the 2nd, one bottle per group is free!!! The pizzas took 1 hour to come and the other strange thing is that they don't serve coca/pepsi as they don't have commercial drinks at all. There are better shops in town! Unfortunately, all comments must be heard to improve the stores.

We went with our baby on Sunday at 18:30. We finally ordered at 19:15. They brought the drinks at 19:30, the starters at 20:00 and the pizzas at 20:15. The rude staff after an hour of ordering came and asked us what we had ordered because they had not passed the order. It was so tiring to wait 1.5 hours to finally eat.

Really fantastic pizzas! We were put at a kind of high bar table, too bad. Service could be better. It's all a bit messy!

Pumpkin pizza was good but served cold:/ despite we ordered 3 glass of wine, the staff entered as 5 glass. When we want to pay, i saw this mistake but the staff still argued that we ordered 5 glass😳

Best pizza in town, great place to go! Would definitly recommend it. Only comment I have is the start slow service. I ve be been here so many times, and most of the time it can take a while before they take your drinking order. But the service was overal good and they are nice.

The kitchen looks very good but the waitress is very unpleasant there was room upstairs but she was too lazy to climb the steps with her little legs carrying two pizzas

as someone that works in the service industry as well, i hate to have to leave a review like this, but i think that the managers should check more on how the employees are working/feeling. there was one employee that just had quite a nasty attitude and very rudely would put down the plates and drinks. also saw this attitude toward other tables. it made the atmosphere quite unpleasant.

Very tasty food. At the end we were offered a Limoncello in exchange for a review. We were a group of 9 girls and each person had to write a review. Very awkward end to a nice evening. Only when you could prove that you had written a review would you receive the Limoncello. This is (in my opinion) no way to do business. Therefore 5 stars for the food, but 1 star for service! Hopefully they will stop this soon, because they really don't need this way of bribery.

One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten!! Small selection, but very high quality. The service was very quick and friendly. The only negative points are the ambience. Although the structure of the restaurants is very cool, it still seems a bit cool and the chairs are uncomfortable and the tables are very small. Overall, an absolute recommendation!

I’ve been here many times before but this time we left without anyone taking our order. No one of the staff was paying attention to give us a table (there were tables free) and no one came to take our order so we left. Enough time was wasted.

🌟 Enjoyed a great evening with friends at Old Scuola last night! From the moment we walked in, we felt the lively atmosphere and the smell of the wood ovens 🍕🔥. We started with a delicious bottle of Visintini 'Cinzia' from Friuli—floral, fresh, and soft. The perfect start to a fun evening! 🍷✨ The antipasti were delicious: the special of the day “a bruschetta with béchamel, ham and Parmesan”, followed by spicy scampi with 'Nduja, and a creamy burrata with basil oil and pistachio crumbs. Every bite was delicious! 🦐🌿🥖 For the main course we shared 2 pizzas: the Salame Piccante, a spicy classic, and the surprising Short Rib pizza with slow-cooked short ribs, roseval potatoes, and caramelized shallots. The latter was really an unexpected pleasure and I definitely recommend it! 🍕💥 For dessert we enjoyed Espresso martinis and a fresh Raspberry Tiramisu. Maybe even tastier with some chocolate curls or pistachios 😉🍫. And of course: finish with a limoncello on the house 🍋🥂. Old Scuola remains a favorite for a fun evening out. Service top, atmosphere great, but the chairs could have been a bit softer! 😅👌

This was an amazing experience. Right when walking into the place it’s absolutely stunning and open. The staff was amazing, Denisa and Sophia were super friendly and just funny outgoing people. You also notice the good vibes and chemistry among the whole team and all the staff, it just adds to the great atmosphere of the place. Most importantly, this was possibly the best pizza I’ve eaten in a long time. If you have the chance do stop by, won’t regret it. Hope nothing changes for years to come 🤪.

good food with good service. there were a few choices that made me question if that is good or bad but they worked out somewhat. like the sweet & sour on my quattro formaggi is okay, i wouldn't add it myself but it was decent. the smokey lime lemonade on the other hand i really didn't enjoy. but that is because of my taste, maybe you will like it.

Delicious food and atmosphere of the place. You can move to sunny Italy in the center of Rottwedam. A pleasant surprise for me was the Polish-speaking waitress, who was very professional and polite. Excellent service!

Ik was er voor een verjaardag van een vriendin en drankjes stonden klaar bij ontvangst. Het diner bestond uit allerlei kleine gerechtjes die na elk elkaar werden geserveerd. De jarige was vergeten te vragen of er dingen waren die je niet mocht. Nadat ik had aangegeven een uienallergie te hebben werd er vanuit alle kanten geholpen om voor mij iets te regelen. Super service. Als slot een overheerlijk toetje. De kelner die ons hielp was geweldig.

Old Scuola offers the best and tastiest pizza I have ever eaten. The quality of the ingredients and the preparation make every pizza a pleasure to eat. Although it may sometimes take a little longer to receive your meal, the wait is definitely worth it. The consistently high quality of the pizzas makes up for the wait. This restaurant is highly recommended for anyone looking for an excellent pizza experience.

Acogedor restaurante, nos sentamos afuera a tomar una cerveza y tomar unos bruschetas y camarones mientras vemos pasar a la gente. Fue delicioso y asequible, la gente que trabaja allí es muy amable. Así que todos juntos la comida, el lugar y la gente hicieron de ella una experiencia muy agradable.

Perfect pizza dough! Absolutely amazing! The flavor of the ‘nduja shrimp was bland and lacked everything ‘nduja is about. The chilie oil had no spice and flavor to it and the service simply forgot about our table. The potential of this place is huge but the flavors and eye for detail need work. The atmosphere is lively.

I ordered a pizza, but it was so big that I got bored. The clerk is busy and difficult to call. I guess it's a good store because it's crowded. I did not understand.

After having a drink with colleagues we ended up here for something to eat. The atmosphere is slightly more modern than you would first expect from a Neapolitan restaurant, but you don't notice that from the pizza. The pizza is absolutely fantastic! If you really like pizza, this place is highly recommended. I would happily sit in the car for 30 minutes.

El personal es muy amable, la pizza es ligera y sabrosa. Las bebidas también son buenas, pero cuestionable el hecho de que no hay una amplia selección de vinos italianos o prosecco - ¡qué lástima! Sin embargo, el spritz y otros cócteles son muy agradables y refrescantes. El ambiente es frío y acogedor, pero dependiendo de la noche, el servicio puede variar. Si están ocupados, pueden ser muy lentos y no tan eficientes. Es bueno reservar con antelación en cualquier caso, es un lugar muy popular especialmente durante los fines de semana y viernes. Los precios están bien, un poco mucho pero habitual para un lugar así en el centro de Rotterdam. Recomendaría ir con amigos o familiares y los postres son increíbles - el tiramisú está MUY cerca de uno auténtico de Italia.
