OOSTerBAR in Oosterparkbuurt

They do comedy nights here at the basement bar on Thursdays. I've been to a few - even performed at one - it's a really good venue. It's cosy and intimate, it's a good location, they get good crowds. I will come to more shows, with a bit of luck I might even get a spot to perform at more!

We hosted our engagement party here and unfortunately had a very poor experience. The biggest issue was the sound system. Despite paying a significant amount, the PA system was not functioning properly. The bass was distorted throughout the evening, and the technician (who arrived 30 min) late on site openly admitted he did not know how to operate the equipment. Multiple staff members were unable to troubleshoot, a personal call was made to someone outside the venue for help, and in the end one of our guests had to operate the sound system. We were forced to buy an additional cable ourselves last second before the event started. Later, an audio engineer attending as a guest confirmed that the PA system was likely damaged or overloaded prior to our event…something that should have been detected with a proper sound check. Communication in the weeks leading up to the event was also very slow, with emails often unanswered until days later. The last emails went completely ignored ahead of the party. This was an incredibly stressful way to start what should have been a special evening. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this venue for events where music and technical reliability matter.

Great place, came here for a stand up show. Really enjoyed it.

Payed 17.50 for a ticket they didn't even check at the door. Atmosphere was mid at best, half empty and music was ok.

Very cozy club. Great for intimate parties. Location is relatively close to centrum and there is a hotel on top, which makes it a great spot to meet some international people.

Night club, nice atmosphere, good staff... The music was just great... thanks to the great line up of DJ's..."Love tide" was the perfect event...

small club with a decent bar, clean bathrooms (most clubs have filthy bathrooms so this is a big +), last time the audio was good. you can walk outside to a nice area where you can hang out. Upstairs the restaurant has good burgers. They only need to work on the audio. no bass available which is not good.

It was wonderful...however we had a problem in our room that was not resolved

Lovely atmosphere. The staff at the bar told me on multiple days to go sit down and their colleague would be with me. However I waited a really long time to be served. Also, people who came first should be served earlier

Very nice club to organise your event. It was a smooth cooperation between Oosterbar and From Dusk Till Dawn! Also heads up to the security guys.. very friendly and helpful.

Nog nooit zo'n warm welkom gehad als in deze bar. Het personeel is beyond friendly en krijgt een dikke 10. Het publiek was allemaal aan het dansen zonder telefoon, dat het nog kan!!!!! Thanks allen! En special thanks to Spikey Lee.

bar staff refused to give out tap water, when i asked for a disposable cup so i could fill it up with tap water in the bathroom they also refused. bit ridiculous considering a bottle of water cost €4. other than that, lovely spot

1x in de maand is hier een fantastisch feestje! Koma, laatste vrijdag vd maand, echt een aanrader. Wel op tijd gaan, want het is vroeg afgelopen.

Amazing basement club with great soundsystem and friendly staff. Thursdays have Dice parties with open decks and local djs playing (afro)disco, boogie, funk, soul, tropical,... dance music ;)

Amsterdam hidden GEM - Personalized Dani soundsystem is beyond imagination. Since a year totally renewed and they did it very very very well

Hidden little club in the basement of a former university converted into a hotel. Tiny but cosy! The staff is adorable, the crowd is eclectic and the prices correct. I heard about an occasional second room.. I will go back to check it out! 🕺

We saw Moody Mehran here and he played a sick set, cool little bar under the hostel with a good (and odd!) audience. recommend

Bierglazen Zijn altijd vies, je mag niet pinnen voor sigaretten en de dansavonden zijn niet zo heel tof.

Nice place but the security seemed to be any place rather than at work here - very unwelcoming.

Redelijke rave kelder. Niet heel groot. Bar personeel is prima. Er zijn kluisjes (2,-).
