Pleasant atmosphere and very friendly and fast staff. However, the pizzas are nothing special and a bit bland, and the portions are too small.

Way too expensive for the quality you get

What should have been a lovely Christmas Eve with delicious food unfortunately didn't end as planned, so we won't be returning! What happened? We ordered two appetizers and two main courses. Almost all the main courses on the menu are priced between €20 and €30. The menu also includes the daily menu for meat and fish. The waiter told us about the rib-eye steak, which we ordered along with pasta. When we tried to order a sandwich beforehand, we were told it was a lot. When we finally got the main course, it turned out to be a kilo (!) of rib-eye steak. We tried our best, but of course, we couldn't finish it all. The other waiter who came to collect our plates asked if we hadn't been told that the rib-eye steak was for 2-5 people. We hadn't been told anything at all, and he found that strange. After all, he had asked our waiter because he also thought our order was "a lot," and he had indicated that he had already told us all about it. We assumed the rib-eye would cost more, but that it would be €125, almost 65% of the bill. We nearly fell off our chairs because we weren't prepared for this. Our waiter was clearly uncomfortable and served the entire restaurant before returning to us. We wanted to speak to the manager, but we didn't see him. We felt like he didn't want to admit his mistake to his manager. He also considered it our problem and didn't acknowledge that he'd misinformed us. All in all, we received a small discount, but we went home with a very bad taste in our mouths and will definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone we speak to. That's no way to treat your customers, especially not on Christmas Eve!

It's a super cozy restaurant with a lovely decor and a very Italian feel. Definitely recommended.

Had lunch, not a great experience. My partner had pasta with short rib ragu; it was fine, but they couldn't quite manage the Parmesan foam, so it came with just plain cheese on top. That's not pasta worth 25 euros. I had a vitello tonato sandwich; it tasted a bit bland. Red velvet cake was really not good. The canoli were good, though. After some insistence, we were given a free canoli as compensation for the failed main course. I won't be back. The price-quality ratio is poor.

Another gem found in Rotterdam. Four friends/colleagues and I had a truly delicious meal at a packed Osteria on a Thursday evening. Despite the crowds, there's a relaxed atmosphere, and the courses come out at a good pace. Everything is perfect, and they'll definitely be seeing me again.

We ordered bread with burrata and pesto, wine and a grilled chicken panini. Amazing food and ambiance! Highly recommend as a lunch or brunch option ! They have their own little merch place to pick up some authentic Italian food and drinks.

Shrinkflation at its finest. What was once a generous restaurant where you knew in advance you were going to be spoiled is unfortunately completely out of proportion in terms of portions and price. Until recently, you'd get a basket of bread with oil on the table. Now? Pay. A tiny extra bowl of Parmesan cheese for your pasta? Pay. Spaghetti with meatballs? 4 years ago €13.75. Now €20, and that will probably soon be €22. Mark my words. Pizzas have also become much smaller, resulting in a size that's just too big for a bambino pizza but too small for a main course. With Neapolitan pizzas, I accept more dough than toppings. That's how it should be. Not with these pizzas. And the most laughable thing was the new wine glasses with a logo and a pour line on them. Everyone knows that if you have glasses like that, your staff isn't skilled enough and you're a cheapskate. In France or Italy, they'd spontaneously throw away a glass like that out of pride. And the line is so low that you get a ridiculously meager glass for 9 euros. Unfortunately. Once great, there are now much better options in Rotterdam and the surrounding area. The staff were very attentive and quick, though. That must be said.

A lovely spot, especially in the morning. Peace and quiet, coffee, and a newspaper. And tiramisu is available without cocoa powder. So nice! It gets busy and noisy inside in the afternoon.

Lovely Italian restaurant, good food, good atmosphere

We booked for 18:00 for our dinner with my taiwanese friend and this is our first dinner together, but such a disappointment because of this restaurant, its around 19:00 and we just almost finishing our maincourse as we are not big eater, so we eat our food gently, then were planning also to order a dessert after maincourse but we dont have that feeling anymore because like while eating a waiter come over and theyre told us we need to finish the food and theyre need our table for other customer, seriously ?? Sounding like theyre want to kicking us out and 1.5 hours and making us rush to finish our food ? Befause theyre said that table only reserve for us for 18 to 19:30 and theyre dont event told us by email or before we start , My gosh what kind of restaurant is this🤨. Will never comeback im sorry there will be better restaurant and better service we could find. We didnt even finish our precourse the calamares and olive pity really its still a lot because of our annoying feeling to them.

I come here often; the food is good, and it's a nice place. However, the last two times were not so good. I think they're understaffed, like many other companies. A long wait before someone comes to take our drink orders. A long wait for our drinks to arrive. A long wait for our food to be taken. A very long wait between the appetizer and the main course. And then a long wait for the desserts, which they forgot to bring, which is a shame... And yet, I'll still go back because the food is delicious. Maybe I was just a bit unlucky twice.

Just a nice place with good food.

I've scheduled a few work meetings there now. They serve delicious coffee and lunch. I'll be going there privately in the evening soon; I've heard from friends that they also offer a great dinner with kids.

Always a pleasure to visit, whether it's on the terrace in the summer or inside in a relaxed atmosphere. Friendly service with expert knowledge of the products. One minor point: the risotto isn't available for lunch, but only after 5:00 PM.

This remains my favorite place in Rotterdam. Absolutely everything here is delicious. The zucchini and asparagus sandwich was finger-licking good.

The pizza was really good, made with fresh ingredients and a nice thin base. I loved the indoor layout too, it felt warm and comfortable. The waiter gave great service. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the iced coffee. It wasn’t a regular iced coffee, more like a slushy frozen one, which felt a bit off. It would help if the menu explained that more clearly.

We felt unwelcome. We came here for dinner and were immediately told the kitchen closes at 3:00 PM! We thought, "Okay, fine, we still have fifteen minutes." It turns out a small portion of the menu isn't available from 3:00 PM onward, but the rest is. She apparently didn't want to help us. Furthermore, our waitress was lacking in friendliness. Half our order was delivered, and we never received the requested water. We also had to wait a long time for a second drink order (there were seven tables in total). In short, the staff wasn't the best. The food was fine. The goat cheese salad was a small portion and very bland in taste, the salad quality was very poor, the lettuce stems were used, not just the leaves, and the bread served with the dishes was dry and tough. The calamari and carpaccio were very tasty. In short: will we be back? Maybe in a few years.

We came here with friends who frequent this place very often. Nice ambience and service is friendly and forthcoming. We were not very hungry so we shared a pizza and pasta dish. Both were good. Loved the Affogato which they offered with decaf espresso (something that one doesn't get everywhere).

The food has deteriorated. Not exceptional, but it is expensive. The atmosphere is nice and the service friendly. Fine for a quick bite, but if you want something special, you'll need to go elsewhere.

The plan was to book for Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 6:30 PM, but due to various circumstances, it wasn't possible. It was bizarre! PS: with 7 guests.

The restaurant is quite good but it doesn't have air conditioning so eating inside is not recommended during the summer (we were dying of heat!!!)

A really cozy place with friendly people and a nice terrace. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing: the pizza was very thinly topped, and the meat of the day was tough, sinewy, and bland. A real shame.

Apparently, dogs are allowed in the restaurant. I was occasionally on a leash, but it was four meters long and therefore of little use. Servers asked if I could pass them the plates.

The food isn't bad, but for these prices, I expect better quality. The daily menu was rib-eye; I wasn't asked how I wanted it, and I got it medium rare. The meat was lukewarm inside. One of my guests received the wrong dish and it took quite a while before he got the right one. In short, it was reasonably priced, but the quality was average.

During my daughter's three years of studying in Rotterdam, Osteria Vicini was almost a point of reference, located right on the same street as her house, in the beautiful residential neighborhood of Kralingen. The outdoor area is truly delightful: a space with tables that, on sunny days, even in the dead of winter, invites you to stop for a moment of relaxation. Sitting there with a blanket over your lap, an Aperol Spritz in hand, and the sun warming your face is an experience worth the stop alone: a corner that exudes a warm and convivial atmosphere, perfect for the tranquility of the neighborhood. We tried several dishes, choosing mostly the less "typically Italian" ones (because, obviously, it can't compare to our cuisine), but the quality was always good and the dishes well prepared. The chicken salad is delicious! The interior is spacious and airy, but never noisy. The staff, although different each time, has always been very courteous and professional. A place I recommend for a relaxing break and to enjoy the neighborhood life, especially on nice days!

Delicious food, nice atmosphere. Inside the service was good, but because of the time slot we had to move. Outside the service was downright bad. As if we no longer existed. We walked inside twice to get a waitress. By the way, I also think those time slots do not contribute to a hospitable feeling. Because of that you are on a kicking chair. Probably unfortunately discovered during COVID. 😏

We stopped for lunch yesterday. We ordered 3 panini sanwiches - tuna and grilled chicken, and a pizza. Service was great and the food was excellent. Very nice restaurant.

I can really understand that it is not nice to have to work in 30 degrees, but the arrogance with which we were served is really below all standards. The girl who took the order was literally sighing because my father (with Parkinson's) could not make his choice quickly enough. Then she pulled the card away, and when asked if the toilet was downstairs, she did not look up or around and gave an angry "yes". Never felt so unwanted in a restaurant where you come as a paying guest. We were really amazed by this behavior, especially for such a young girl. Unfortunately, never again for us.

A hidden gem in a picturesque part of Rotterdam – an evening to remember After months of curious anticipation and a warm recommendation from a friend, the time had finally come last night: a visit to this charming restaurant in one of the most atmospheric corners of Rotterdam. And what a discovery it was! Under a sultry summer evening breeze we settled down on the cozy terrace. The ambiance was calm and relaxed – perfect for catching up and enjoying a casual evening. The service was friendly, the atmosphere intimate, and the crowd pleasantly quiet. We started the evening with a refreshing Peligrano Rosso lemonade, followed by a delicious chicken salad from the oven. The salad was generously filled and surprisingly tasty – a nice balance of heartiness and freshness. My friend opted for a salmon pizza with a generous amount of salmon, which she visibly enjoyed. To finish, a panna cotta with basil and strawberries was served – a special, fresh combination that perfectly matched the summery setting. Combined with a creamy cappuccino, this was the ideal ending to the evening. A small side note: smoking on the terrace can be a bit annoying for non-smokers. But apart from that, this restaurant is a really nice addition to the city. The price-quality ratio is exceptionally good – something you don’t often find in Rotterdam. And that makes this place more than worth it. In short: a warm recommendation for anyone looking for a relaxing evening out with good food, a nice atmosphere and a touch of surprising flavours. This could easily become one of my new favourite places in Rotterdam.

I visited twice, for coffee and drinks. The coffee was good and the cocktails were well made. However, the menu was quite limited with few options. I didn’t try the food, but the atmosphere inside was excellent — truly beautiful design and a warm, inviting vibe.

Really 5 out of 5 for this place. The staff are neat, accommodating when you dont understand Dutch and they are friendly! The food... well... there arent words. AMAZING. The flavour is there... and every mouthful is a treat! Really really good italian food. The restaurant is beautiful, the devor and lighting provides an atmosphere both relaxing and social. Wether u want to kuier with friends or work. Osteria Vicini is the place to be. Great coffee too!

The food was average and far from authentic Italian. We ate Italian dishes adapted to Dutch "tastes". The highlight was the linguine with shrimp, which was enjoyable. However, the spaghetti with meatballs and the octopus were basic and the tomato sauce lacked taste. The service was bad, the waitresses looked bored. The atmosphere and overall vibe were great.

When making a reservation, you are asked if you want to come at 6 or 8 pm. At 6 pm we were at the table and at 7 pm they say that our table is reserved for 7:30 pm. Very strange.

A little popular Italian restaurant in Kralingen near many student houses , with a nice outdoorterrace and a cosy interior inside , and a menu with a variation of Italian popular dishes . Is it up the level of any local Italian deli in Italy in city’s like Milan , Napoli , Rome or any other city ? No , it’s a adjusted to Dutch taste . If u want to grab a quick bite without any hassle for a reasonable price , this is the place for you . If you are used to real traditional classic Italian taste , then there are better options in Kralingen to visit at the oostzeedijk .

Good menu and stylish place. The food was tasty, but took a long time tonight before it was on the table. The service is friendly. Tip to serve multiple tables in a row (instead of 1 table and then stay away from your neighborhood for a long time). Then I will give more stars next time. 👍🏻

Bruschietta was rock hard but well topped and we had eaten it all. Arancini and polpetten were fine. Pizza montana is a nice surprise, definitely worth trying

We were not seen by the staff. Every time you speak to someone, they come much later to ask what you wanted. Finally I placed my order at the bar. Desserts were not yet thrown on the table. No napkin. Shame.
