Trattoria Sophia in Delfshaven

¡Evita este lugar! Estaba deseando tener una auténtica cena italiana, sin embargo, el cocinero ni siquiera es italiano (¿ruso tal vez?) y la cena era absolutamente insípida. ¡Nunca más!

Met het gezin geluncht en dit is zeer goed bevallen. Mooie ruime zaak en een grote tafel waar de kleintjes ook fijn konden spelen. Vriendelijke bediening. We aten een lekker menuutje met leuke Italiaanse gerechtjes. Voor de kleintjes apart ham, pizza en spaghetti.

Vanavond samen gegeten. Ik keek ernaar uit omdat ik hier vaker gegeten heb en omdat ik ook in deze wijk woon. Ik was echt verbaasd. Het viel erg tegen. Erg vriendelijk personeel. We mochten zelf een tafeltje kiezen dat was prettig. De bloemen op de meeste tafels waren verlept en de olijfolie uit het flesje op. We deelden een Arancini. Risottoballen, 4 op de kaart. We kregen 6 harde kleine soort bitterballen. Ik herkende er geen mozzarella in. Hoofdgerecht klassieke lasagne was melig en opgewarmd omdat het midden koud was. Calamari dreef in roze water met gedroogde tomaat en was niet echt warm. Het 2e bestelde drankje is nooit gekomen. Heel jammer. De pizza's bij de buren zagen er erg lekker uit. Wij zijn na het Hoofdgerecht naar huis gegaan.

Had two completely different experiences at Trattoria Sophia (unfortunately). Went for the first time at the end of last year. Then we ate very well. The cannelloni in particular was particularly tasty and the calzone excellent. Dessert (pistachio cake) was highly recommended. Staff friendly and atmosphere pleasant, very quiet. How different last week... The restaurant was full so we got a table at the side. First of all, it feels quite tucked away, and also very noisy. The arancini was dry and clearly not fresh. Tasted like some kind of noodle ball. Main courses also disappointing. Tortelloni had almost no filling and the pasta itself was simply tough, the most flavorful thing was the butter sauce. The Prosciutto of the pizza of the same name was abundant, but not of the quality you might expect. In terms of taste and layout, I expected this from a beer café. The icing on the cake was that we were completely ignored by the woman serving, who was mainly busy with a larger table next to us that she apparently knew.

Dear Anna, first of all, ensure that the service provided by the staff improves. When we come in there is hardly anyone there, but we have to wait at least 20 minutes until someone is at the table because she is busy with a telephone conversation....

Me reuní aquí con un amigo del estudio para cenar. Como buena tradición siempre comemos una sopa cuando nos encontramos. Desafortunadamente la única sopa en el menú, vellutata di finocchi / sopa de crema de hinojo solo se sirve para el almuerzo y no para la cena. Cuando le explicamos que siempre comemos una sopa, nuestra camarera se desvivió y fue a la cocina para preguntar al chef si podía hacernos una sopa. Volvió sonriendo, diciéndonos que el chef iba a hacer la sopa. Nos gustó mucho la sopa, especialmente porque se hizo bajo pedido. Nuestro plato fuerte fue el ragu di salsiccia / pasta con salchicha ragù que también era muy sabroso. Como era una agradable noche de verano nos sentamos fuera en la terraza, pero por dentro también se ve muy bien. Disfrutamos de la comida, el personal y la ubicación y realmente puedo recomendar este restaurante cuando usted está buscando auténtica comida italiana.

Tonight we had dinner with a group of 7. The food was fine (except for the too salty carbonara), but the service was very poor. We went a la carte for a starter, main course and dessert. After the starter, the main course was recorded, after which we were told after a long time that these had not been properly entered into the system and therefore the food would only be prepared now. Drinks were then taken, after which I asked if they would come on the house since we had to wait so long and still had to wait for our main course. This would be inquired into after which no further feedback was provided. I thought: leave it alone for now, I'll check this on the receipt later. Then the waitress offered if we wanted some extra bread in the meantime, since we still had to wait for the food. We said “yes”, but in the end no more bread was given at all. Again no service.. At the end of the evening we paid and checked the receipt to see if anything had arrived to us. Only €10 on a bottle of Prosecco that normally costs €40. And after this bad service, a total bill of almost €340. When I made the comment that I thought it was strange that when we ordered a bottle of still water with the bottle of Prosecco, we received a bottle of still water that turned out to cost €6.50, while we received free tap water for the rest of the evening, We just looked at us glassily and were told that we had indeed received a bottle of still water that cost €6.50 and he continued as if he did not understand us. Pfft. Since we didn't want to ruin the evening for ourselves, we left it at that and paid the bill with even a little tip. Conclusion: We are not happy with the service. Food was fine. All in all, we wouldn't come back anytime soon. Shame!

Ate here tonight, unfortunately it wasn't much good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the atmosphere was pleasant, this was the only positive thing about the experience. The food had little taste and was not very warm. The service was also not optimal, it took a long time before orders were taken and we also had to ask if we could order dessert. Maybe the pizzas are better, but you don't have to go here for the pastas.

Beautiful venue with top notch food. We had the pizza and cannelloni which were great, as was the canolo for dessert.

The oriechiette was unfortunately very boring, bland and tough; with few other ingredients. It wasn't fully cooked. That's a waste of the money you pay for it. The other pasta was quite tasty and slightly richer in ingredients.

Had lunch here with a group. Even though we had made a reservation and there was a set menu, it took a very long time. Dietary requirements were not taken into account and there were no alternatives for those on a diet. Staff was understaffed.

We came for lunch with a large group. It was indicated in advance that I follow a gluten-free diet. First of all, drinks were taken from only a small group, which were brought with a number of bottles of water. There was no further opportunity to order a drink. We started with a delicious glass of vegetable soup, GF when asked. Then large bowls of filled foccacia were brought to the table, followed some time later by a tomato salad, which was immediately indicated as being GF. To my great disappointment and surprise, I was not offered any alternative to the foccacia. Because we were upstairs it was not easy to find staff. So I had to make do with a small glass of soup and a plate of tomato salad...not really a filling lunch. Please note that other diets were also not taken into account. Conclusion: the quality of the food was good, but the service was inadequate and it was very diet-unfriendly.

Haven't eaten as mediocre as here in a long time. Upon entering, the place looks more like a Happy Italy than a trattoria. Ordered a bottle of wine with some fish croquettes which were fine. Bought out meat of the day at 7.15 pm. Ordered main course which we waited more than an hour for. Waitress didn't notice this and casually asked the table if we wanted to order anything else, while we were still waiting for the previous order. Went to the bar myself, order was not forwarded to the kitchen. Main course neatly taken off the bill. In retrospect it was a good thing. Even the pizza Proscuito Crudo, richly topped but nothing innovative. My friend had the pasta Rigatoni di Salsiccia with ragu of fennel, sausage and saffron. This was just a pasta bolognese from a package. A homemade pasta has more depth than this. Very salty too. There are plenty of other places in Rotterdam for good Italian food.

Had dinner with the two of us on a Friday evening. The food was delicious, the tomato salad as an aperitivo was tasty, then the rigatoni and a marinara e bufalina pizza were shared. The service was also very friendly and quick, even though it was busy.

Great Italian restaurant! Pasta tastes good. I would recommend also antipasti like tuna tartare, or ham&melon. Pizza was also good, maybe a bit small but dough was great.

We had dinner with you on Saturday August 10 with a group of 4 people. The men chose a pizza with shrimps and my daughter and I the penne for 16.50. the young lady at the counter came to say that the cook had made the wrong pizzas, but okay, the ones with ham were also tasty so no problem. We think there were just no shrimps. My daughter and I thought our penne was cold and said to each other we would ask if it could be heated, but we didn't. floated in the olive oil. Slow operation.

Estábamos aquí para cenar en familia. El menú no ofrece muchas opciones, no había pescado ese día. El personal no era muy amable. La pasta era muy dura, no comestible, pocos ingredientes, tres mitades de tomates pequeños, restos de buratta y poco de salsa. Schameles, una gran decepción!

Booked a family dinner here last Monday. It was very disappointing compared to last time. Starter was much less, octopus was very tough. Pasta was too “al dente”, way too hard. As for ingredients, there were only traces of burata, little sauce… There was no fish on the menu. Very disappointing in combination with unfriendly service. We definitely won't be back.

We came for lunch with a fairly large group, but that was already known since we had made a reservation the day before. When we went to order, it turned out that both the Sfiziosa pizza and Panino Carpaccio were already sold out (at 12:45). I think it's quite sloppy if you know that it will be a fairly sunny day and your catering neighbor (hell) is closed that day. Then you can bet that it will be busy on your terrace. Once the drinks and food were ordered, a few drinks arrived first, but not yet the beer. They came later, at least first 1 beer came while we had ordered 4. It is possible that a keg is empty, but wait with that one beer until you can tap and serve all 4. The other beers also only arrived when 4 people at the table had already received their food. However, the rest of the food (the pizzas) only came half an hour later... That wasn't exactly a nice/nice meal with a group either. Yes, pizzas arrived at the table, but they were not for us. There was also a Prosciutto pizza that was not on the lunch menu. It's a shame that we were not informed that pizzas other than those on the lunch menu could be ordered, because then we would have gone for that. All in all, the beer and the food tasted absolutely great, so that's why it got a 3*. However, operation and communication are below par. I understand that it is busy and that this causes stress, but the mistakes like the above ensure that you as a group will not go out for a nice meal here again.

Aangelokt door een zeer goede recensie in het AD zijn we hier gaan lunchen. Het is een mooie ruim opgezette zaak met veel parkeergelegenheid. De lunchkaart is wat beperkt maar de smaken van de gerechten zijn uitstekend. Zeer vers, smakelijk en echt Italiaans. Ook de prijzen zijn nog relatief redelijk. Zeer aan te bevelen.

While I am writing, I am enjoying a delicious cannolo siciliano with “ricotta fresca and pistacchi”. Before this we had eaten an excellent filleted sea bream and spaghetti aglio olio e pepperoncino. Nice Italian restaurant. Parking in front of the door, but paid parking. Multiple floors where you can sit. Despite the modern/industrial details, the restaurant still feels very warm and homely. The food is good and the staff friendly. The price is also excellent in relation to the quality. You can also pick up here. Excellent meal. Not your average pizza or pasta but something special. Friendly service. Of course you pay something for that, but the price remains reasonable.

Wine list was fine, with some really decent options. Starters were amazing, my pasta was too much al dente and not the best. In general pleasant atmosphere, outdoor and indoor seating, no needs to reserve tables in advance.

Very last time as a regular customer on a Saturday evening, we walked away after an unpleasant discussion with someone who calls himself the manager. Pasta carbonara was not what we were used to, but according to the manager it is always served that way, but that is absolutely not true. I was served an almost cold pizza that was made very quickly. By making the top floor public, you see that the staff can give less attention. People don't even have time to clear and clean tables. We will eat Italian somewhere else from now on, plenty of better places in Rotjeknor.

The pizza has to be one of the best in Rotterdam. Beautiful restaurant with a spacious layout. The kitchen does close on time on Thursday at 9:00 PM, something to take into account if you are a little later.

Had dinner here on Saturday evening and it was very disappointing. The wine at €9.00 was not good, the house wine was the best. The olive oil on the table had a bitter aftertaste. The so-called "fried" redfish was floating in some kind of soup, but we had to pay €28.00 for it. The lasagna was ok and so was the limoncello. But otherwise, not a nice atmosphere, way too expensive. Not to be repeated.

Had lunch here for the second time today. The staff are friendly and helped me in and out of the restaurant with the pram when I asked as the lift for wheelchairs and prams was broken. After we took our seats, the waitress gave my daughter a coloring book and crayons. She enjoyed herself like this until the food was served. They certainly have an eye for children here. During our previous visit I remembered that the menu was more extensive. Perhaps we had the dinner menu then. The lunch menu was small but with enough interesting dishes. Because we went for pizza last time, we wanted to try something different this time. My daughter chose the tortellini with butter, parmesan and truffle and I chose the coarsely chopped beef tenderloin with hazelnut and truffle. Both dishes were tasty and good for a light lunch. All the ingredients used here were of very good quality, so there is no need for much fuss and justifies the price.

Lasagne was perfect but the service was horrible. Had to order my drink at the bar after waiting way too long and being ignored multiple times.

Fish of the day, something with squid? After asking twice what are you saying, I gave up, the service was unintelligible. Bread in advance but no saucer for the olive oil. Yes, we could have asked, but we had already given up hope a bit. But used a glass. Limited menu should improve quality (focus!). The hope that the dishes would be special turned out to be an illusion (ok, but no more than that). Maybe the pizzas are great. Service was mainly absent. There were plenty of people walking around, but attention for the guests was hard to find.

Na een dagje Rotterdam met het hele gezin gaan eten bij Trattoria Sophia. Sfeervol en ruim retaurant. De kaart biedt niet heel veel keuze; er stonden meer pizza's dan pasta's op en voor een pastaliefhebber was de keuze dus vrij beperkt (+/- 5 of 6 pastagerechten). De pasta's die erop stonden waren ook niet goed gevuld; de pesto di broccoli pasta had bijvoorbeeld maar 3 zongedroogde tomaatjes. Portiegrootte kan dus echt beter, aangezien we bij thuiskomst nog iets extra's hebben moeten eten. De cannoli was wel heel lekker.

Op zaterdagavond naar Trattoria Sophia geweest. Wat een teleurstelling! Van de beloofde autentieke keuken hebben wij niets gemerkt. Kleine keus aan voorgerechten, de dagschotel ossobuco was op, de tortelini zou voor een kind nog te weinig zijn, de pizza calzone bevatte voornamelijk kaas en geen gehaktsaus, al het eten was te koud, (netzoals de koffie na afloop), van de desserts was de panna cotta was ook op. De bediening was niet te verstaan en zeer onhandig. Kortom, alleen de wijn was goed.

I say for breakfast or brunch. Madam doesn't say anything. We get a card that doesn't include breakfast and 3x lunch, so you can probably have a good dinner here. We left after the lukewarm coffee. There used to be a wonderful lunch/brunch establishment here. So very unfortunate

Very nice Italian restaurant, I can suggest the pizza Sophia, it was so delicious and creamy. They have different pizza sizes which makes it possible for everyone to enjoy it fully and perhaps also have a dessert.

Ein absolut klasse italienisches Restaurant in Rotterdam. Wir waren von der Optik schon angetan und als das Essen kam und der esse bissen im Mund zerging einfach WOW top Preis Leistung 👌 Wir hatten calzone und ravioli burrata e Limone, als dessert das hausgemachte Tiramisu, dieses war göttlich.

Na een middagje abseilen euromast op de terug weg hier spontaan gaan eten. Was geen slechte keuze. Heerlijke pizza's aardige snelle bediening. Dessert top en de nougat bij de koffie te lekker. Sfeer prima.

Onderbezetting met personeel. Eten moet Italiaanse keuken benaderen maar vindt ik matig, service is goed, inrichting beetje kil. Voor ons niet een herhaling waard.

Het eten was overheerlijk ik had de mozzarella als voorgerecht. Was vol van smaak. En als hoofdgerecht de burrata ravioli. Ik ben echt een liefhebber van buratta. En het was echt overheerlijk. De porties zijn ook goed te doen, naar mijn mening. Alleen kan de bediening wel meer langs tafel om te vragen voor wat te drinken. Dat was het enige.

Heerlijk gegeten mooi restaurant. Zeker de moeite waard.

Lekker Italiaanse eten in een leuke sfeer.

I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time I really liked the food, but the service was initially very slow (30+ minutes) to take up the order of our food. The second time, I again really enjoyed the food. However, this time it took about 30 minutes again for them to even take the first order. They also forgot parts of the order, namely the water. I highly recommend the pasta amatriciana.

Mooie plek en een fijn sfeer maar de bediening was vreselijk! Drankjes waren veel te laat gebracht en de bestelling was ook niet compleet. Een vans heeft pas haar hoofdgerecht toen de rest klaar waren. Niet eens excuses aangeboden. Het eten was verder prima (niet bijzonder).

Favoriete plek voor pizza. Kan wel per avond ietsjes wisselend in kwaliteit, maar 19 van de 20 ervaringen die we hier hebben gehad waren echt goed. Met name fan van de pizza 'nduja.

We aten lekker buiten. Voorgerecht met runderribeye was heel smakelijk. Twee pizza's van topkwaliteit. Goed gevuld, lekkere bodem en korst. Heerlijk.

Suuuper yummy! Beautiful location and highly recommended. Wonderful Italian restaurant, pizza at its finest. I actually have to add you a few additions. The staff is really extremely friendly and helpful. To my shame I have to admit that due to time pressure I completely forgot to give a tip as we only paid with a credit card and we were tied to a date boat ride! So we were in a bit of a hurry. Please forgive me for this rudeness. Because we usually always leave a generous tip, and you really deserved that. So we will improve accordingly on our next visit to you. 2x eerder geweest voor een lunch, nu voor een diner. Alle keren prima. Een Italiaans restaurant die gebruik maakt van Nduja en Guanciale in de gerechten heeft bij mij sowieso een dikke streep voor. Ook de pizza’ s zijn prima. Niet al te grote kaart, wat ik ook fijn vind. Mooie ruime zaak en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Als je wilt kan je ook zicht hebben op de open keuken
