First meal in Amsterdam and it did not disappoint. Starters were flavorful and the tonkotsu was delicious. The staff here were all amazing and I would highly recommend going to this place.

10 out of 10. Ramen was just perfect. Absolutely delicious gyoza and very good sake. Mochi was also super tasty. You can feel that all the guys working there really like and know what they’re doing. I really enjoyed my time there!

Delicious Ramen and great service!

We had a great time at Otemba with our server Mathias. The food was great and even though the restaurant was packed our servers was very prompt. The ramen & gyoza was 10/10. Noodles tasted amazing and the pork was really well made. Will definitely be back to try other items.

Sat outside on a rainy day. Server Mathias was super nice & helpful. We had the first ramen on the menu, kimchi fries and the cucumbers. I think the broth was delicious & really enjoyed the cucumbers, they were really good. Overall would come back.

We waited over 40 minutes for two servings of ramen. The waitress asked if we wanted a bite in the meantime because the kitchen was running behind. We thought the bite would be "on the house," but we were still charged for it. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth a 40-minute wait.

Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. After ordering, we were told there was a problem in the kitchen and that it could take fifteen minutes or a little longer. We waited 45 minutes. On top of that, we were charged extra because we were asked if we wanted a snack while waiting, which you'd expect to be on the house. The table next to us was offered a free dessert. The toilet was also extremely dirty. The food was okay, but no reason to return.

Recently moved to Amsterdam and was very excited to go to Otemba as it was my favorite ramen in the area when I visited last year. Ramen was just as good, but the service really upset me and my partner. We were sitting outside and not many people were there. A larger table opened up next to us and we asked if we could switch tables so I could sit next to my partner on the bench side. The server mentioned those tables are reserved for larger groups, but the people sitting there earlier were a couple as well. We completely understood that, but within 5 minutes, another couple came and asked if they could sit at the larger table and they were allowed to sit there. Then, another larger table opened up, and another couple asked to sit there and they were allowed to use that table as well. We are still learning Dutch and are trying our best to assimilate, but as these other couples took the larger tables, even though these couples were speaking English, the servers talked to them in Dutch. In the end, it just really soured the experience as we couldn’t help but feel like we were treated less as we were clearly not Dutch. We weren’t loud, we weren’t bothersome, and we helped our server along the way by making room on our small table to make sure all our food fit. While the other couples were complaining a lot or being loud. We know how Americans can be and we try our best to not bring that culture wherever we go here in the Netherlands as we want to be Dutch. I love Otemba, but that experience really didn’t feel welcoming.

Food was good but it toke one hour in an empty restaurant. The waiter had no idea if we had food or we were still waiting.

I went with my partner, and the atmosphere and the place were really cozy. The ramen was spectacular! It has a different twist, but it's incredible. If you like ramen, you'll appreciate it. It's also in a very cool area and has tables right next to the canal to enjoy the weather. If I return to Amsterdam, I'll definitely come back. 👌🏼

Amazing service by Myrthe shes so helpful n friendly for us first timer here. Recommended the tonkotsu Ramen,gyoza, fried chicken and takoyaki. Love the tonkotsu broth very creamy n tasty!!! Will be back and will recommend people to come here.

Ok everyone… this place is something else. I want to mention 3 things 3️⃣ 1. ramen: the right level of spiciness and the best part is the egg 🥚 2. staff: RUDOLFS at the bar is amazing. served exactly what i wanted and kept me company on a lonely Wednesday night 🥰🥰🥰🥰 3. glasses: thick, juicy and the pattern of the glass fits your hand as a glove 😩😩 100% recommended, let’s keep the vibes up 🆙

Hands down the best food I’ve had in Europe this trip. So freaking good. Must get the shiitake mushrooms in ramen, they are so juicy and good!! Will think about this meal forever!!

We had the veggie Osaka gyoza as appetizers — they were so good they disappeared before I could even get a photo. For mains, we went with the spicy miso (veggie) and the tantanmen (vegan). Both were flavorful and comforting. It’s a bit out from the city center, but definitely worth the trip. On a classic rainy evening in Amsterdam, it made for the perfect dinner spot.

Sat outside on the terrace with friends on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The terrace is nice, a lot of people passing by, the area is really lively. For starters we had the Kyoto Gyozas with duck and the watermelon sashimi - both really tasty. Especially the sashimi was delicious! I had the Spicy Miso Ramen with glazed tofu which were packed with flavor. The tofu was delicious. Overall a bit too spicy for me, will go without the spice next time which is also an option on the menu. The portion is a bit small compared to the price in my opinion and only comes with a few pieces of tofu. Service was kind and welcoming.

Wow! Found this place from a Google search for local places where I am staying. Amazing staff from entering to leaving. Very friendly and helpful. The chicken gyozas are so nice. The sauce that comes with them, will make you want more. The tonkatsu ramen was nice, so many different flavors in every bite.

Fantastic Ramen, Gyoza and Cocktails! The Yuzu Highballs are on point, and the Tofu in the Creamy Peanutramen is probably the best Tofu I ever had! The service was super friendly although the restaurant was super busy. Thanks to the lady who had her first day today, we felt very well looked after :) We also tried the lobster gyozas, they were super tasty and juicy. Highly recommended this place if you want to eat excellent Ramen in a cool spot.

We’re visiting from the US and we wanted to stop by the albertcuypt market and stumbled upon this gem! I’m so glad we went in because the food was AMAZING! We got some ramen, gyoza, and the korean fried chicken and they were all amazing. Service was amazing as well! thank you for a great lunch :)

Had another fabulous late afternoon at Otemba. Sooooo refreshing and inspiring to experience contemporary dimsum in a super cool interior with the very friendly, swift staff. We love that there’s always something new on the menu. Fat playlist vibes. Great clientele too. Exactly what a chill Sunday needs.

Had the standard ramen. The whole dish was overpowered with shoyu taste. Mushrooms were not Japanese but standard Dutch mushrooms soaked in shoyu. Meat same.. shoyu shoyu.. no balance of flavours just shoyu. Also the price is way to high for the quality you get.

We were there two nights in a row, the food is delicious, especially the vegan ramen! The service super friendly, Finja and Annahita took really good care of us! Highly recommended while visiting Amsterdam!

Fast service, great service, wonderful ramen and a drink to die for. Surprised by this place and absolutely loved it. At about 7pm on a Saturday I was able to walk in and immediately get seated. The Amsterdam fusion ramen special was a spicy and wonderful bowl! Adored this meal and I'll be back.

Delicious food on the sunny terrace! Very surprised by the gyoza and Japanese ramen with Dutch influences. Tip: Take Apple Pie Gyoza as a ending!

Had a nice dinner here with friends. The cocktails were tasty and well made - approve a lot as I am quite fussy with cocktails. We had the ramen special which was delicious and I would absolutely recommend. The only downside is the service is quite slow. To be fair it was a busy evening but we were constantly needing to flag down the waitress. Either way, the staff were helpful. Would recommend going if you enjoy a good bowl of ramen 🍜

It’s great tasting ramen but a little pricy and not too much broth. I’ve come a few times and the last time the service was really slow, but I don’t think that’s the norm. The takoyaki and gyoza are good too. Not the best in the city but decent option.

The series was more on the bad side, when we sat on the dirty table no one cleaned the table,then we ordered ramen while we waited it was so cold we almonds froze and my stomach hurt after this “experience”

The service was indeed friendly. The food, on the other hand, was bouilloun with some vegetables in it. And you pay 20 euros for some meat in it. It's just a company that wants to make quick money with windows. But if you've actually been to Japan, this is a bland version of a vegetable soup with some vegetables in it. The toilets are also extremely dirty and you stand in a puddle of water or something else and you run out of toilet paper. Food Act?

At OTEMBA we ordered duck and salmon nigiri gyosas: from the first bite you can tell the difference between a fast food and a signature cuisine place. Each piece made from scratch, with a unique and careful flavor. The tonkotsu ramen was crazy delicious, bordering on thrilling. There were two of us, we shared one (€20.95) and we understood that every euro was worth it. To drink, two super fresh lemonades. We spent €47 in total. If you are looking for authentic and special ramen, this is the place.

Don’t take the matcha ice cream: it doesn’t taste matcha and is super artificial! We literally threw it away
