Almost every month I come to try their monthly ramen - always such unique flavors. I love the atmosphere of the place and the staff, very welcoming and cozy. My favorite ramen is with the sesame and peanut broth, so creamy and delicious. My go to place every time! ✨

The food was really tasty, the drinks as well - recommend the strawberry basil highball. The outdoor sitting is very pretty, if the weather allows it. The staff were all lovely and cheerful. Shout out to Ricardo!

The ramen is really tasty, we had Tonkostu ramen with shiitake instead black mushroom and sake tasting.

Great Ramen! We sat outside and the food took less than 10 min to come out and was delish! Highly recommend

Very tasty food, cozy atmosphere

The Amsterdam gyoza was tasty, but unfortunately, we didn't like the rest. The ramen took a very long time to be served and really wasn't flavorful. We tried four different ramen, but none of us liked them. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment for us.

A bit pricy and long waiting time eventho it is not busy. their ramen tastes good. Love their special of the month

Not my first time at OTEMBA, and definitely not the last one! Food is absolutely delicious, the tantanmen is simply fabulous! My favourite dish there. Staff is very kind and always available, they take the time to explain the differences and to recommend drinks pairing with the food offering. I love it and I will go again for sure!

I have been exploring ramen spots across Amsterdam step by step to find the really good ones, and I visited OTEMBA RAMEN mainly because of the high Google rating. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of my worst ramen experiences in the city. I booked a table via the online reservation tool, which made it look like the restaurant was almost fully booked, but when I arrived it was surprisingly quite empty. That mismatch created a strange first impression and felt a bit misleading. The service and overall comfort were average at best – nothing particularly welcoming or memorable, just functional. For a place with such a strong rating and relatively high prices, I expected a warmer atmosphere and more attentive service. The biggest disappointment was the food. The ramen did not feel like a proper, well-crafted ramen soup but more like something basic to fill you up. It was not outright bad, but the flavor, depth of broth, and overall quality were far from what you would expect from a serious ramen restaurant, and definitely not worth the price. It felt a way, way too expensive for what you actually get on the plate. Given this experience, I will not be coming back to OTEMBA RAMEN and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, high-quality ramen in Amsterdam.

They publish that the restaurant closes at 22.30. Got there at 21.30 the guys points at the clock and very rude says " kitchen closes at 21.30. Very misleading. Very rude behaviour by the waiter. 👎🏾

Olga was amazing! The place is in a nice street and the food was good. You can sit outside on the terrace with good weather too. We only missed some options on the menu, but for the rest it was great.

This review is entirely based on the quality of food we had. The ramen wasn’t very flavourful and we had to send back the kimchi because it tasted as if it’d gone bad. It’s a pity because the staff were generally helpful and the place looks nice.

Highly recommended. Two of us ate there on a Sunday, and the restaurant was quiet, with plenty of space both inside and on the terrace. We both opted for the set menu (€25) which included a couple of gyozas (we chose chicken) + ramen (in this case, tonkotsu) + iced tea. The gyozas were good, but the ramen was a pleasant surprise. Both the broth and the toppings were delicious. The service was excellent and efficient.

Shocking encounter while dining there. Will not go back again. Friend was asking if she can have less noodles since she always cannot finished them. We were told not possible as they are all pre-packed. I asked you meant you don’t cook your noodles upon ordering? She said it’s all in packets. Wow so we are just eating instant noodles. But even if I am to eat instant noodles I can remove some noodles. Very strange. Secondly we asked for chilli flakes. The Japanese kind with sesame. She brought us chilli oil instead. We didn’t touched it since it is not the kind we asked for. Only found out upon payment that it costs $1.20 euros for the chilli oil. I have not eaten in Japanese restaurant or ramen restaurants anywhere that charged me chili oil. I told the lady I didn’t know we have to pay for the oil. Seriously it’s not her fault because she is just following what the restaurant asked her to do. I’ll not go back because there are many better ramen restaurants to go to now in Amsterdam.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all cost. The service is good but the food is garbage. In all my life I have never tasted such a tasteless and ultra-salty tonkotsu ramen and I have eaten many! I had also the "audacity", if only I knew, of ordering some kimchi as a side-dish and they brought me expired canned kimchi that tasted (I had to taste!) like a rotten metallic spicy tomatoe. The drinks were ok.

Very warm welcome and excellent food. I had the tonkatsu ramen with langoustine gyoza, everything was excellent.

Expected more for the price. The Classic Ramen had noodles that seemed undercooked, and while the broth and pork belly were decent, nothing really stood out. The Chicken Gyoza was okay, but overall the food felt fairly average. The portions were also on the smaller side, especially considering the prices and compared to other ramen places in Amsterdam. What surprised me most was the €2 per person charge for tap water, which felt unnecessary and is not something I’ve experienced elsewhere in the city. Overall, it wasn’t a bad meal, but it didn’t offer good value for money, and there are better ramen spots in Amsterdam at a similar price point.

I had the miso ramen made vegan, I think that only means that they remove the egg but charge the same price... what is even more disappointing is that there is very ĺittle tofu (3 small pieces) I also realised later that the snap peas listed in the dish description were missing too So overall even though the broth is tasty, it ended up being quite a boring but pricey ramen

The food was delicious! And the male waiter was super friendly with us. Just one thing I have to say that’s why I’ve put 4 stars. The waiting time for the food was uncomfortable long and it was a bit pricey overall. but for the rest okay place to eat.

It was amazing to arrive for the first time and find a dish that represents my country and my roots, Venezuela, with their Fosforera Ramen. Their ice cream is the best, as we Venezuelans say.

What was amazing? : Otemba Gyoza chicken and Tatsuta What was okish? Ramen Spicy Miso, it wasn’t spicy at all but salty. Also it was served with 2 tiny chicken pieces. Halal options available mostly chicken. Nice place to sit outside. The side items and starters all had a fish taste to it maybe fried in fish oil.

- ginger orange juice is so watery, I definitely expect better ones - Tantan ramen suppose to be spicy but not spicy at all, instead, very salty. Funny thing is that when we asked for chili oil they told us they will charge 1,5 euros for it 😆😆😆😆 this is not about the money, it’s like table salt, do you charge extra? On top of this you are serving Asian food, table chili, salt and pepper are the basic and it’s standard. - monthly special seafood ramen is very oily.

Felt like paying premium prices for instant ramen energy. Broth was thin, bland, and boring. Gyoza tasted frozen-store mid quality. Karage was fried like hours ago,no juiciness.Just a fried nugget.Nothing terrible, just aggressively mediocre which is worse at this price point.

Great place. The vibe was so live, but it was an early dinner. Got to go back after dark and check it out. Got there at opening and it was getting full by the time we left. Such a great bowl and loved the upgrades you can do to make it your own. Staff was so friendly and fast. Highly recommend
