Pancake in the Park in Groenekan

We rented the venue for a party. The planning beforehand went smoothly. They were very helpful and offered suggestions. During the party, everything was well organized! We had a super fun afternoon :)

Ideal with young children, especially in nice weather!

I had never been here before. We had a family birthday here and I have to say that everything was well organized. We had a good buffet first, and then, to everyone's surprise, finger food arrived (good quality chicken nuggets btw!). Nothing was missing. More than enough of everything. Despite the young staff, they did a great job. They paid close attention and were friendly and attentive. The location itself was also very nice 😄👍🏻

Atmosphere great, service a flop. Beautiful decor (4 stars), but that is where it ends. Everything is done via QR codes and the little contact you have with the staff is uninterested. Dirty tables are not wiped down. The pancakes are fine, but the cake was very dry. I only come here for my child now, but I do not go there with pleasure myself.

I ordered a smoothie and let me tell you. That WAS NOT a smoothie. It was a mixture of juices 🙃 I told them, and they told me that's how they make a "smoothie". No dear, a smoothie is made from REAL frozen pieces of fruit. They did take it back and I ordered something else. But please stop calling those juices mixtures "smoothies" 🫠🙃

A cozy, colorful spot right in the middle of the park. Just walking in makes you happy! Especially suitable for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Choose from various fluffy pancakes, sweet or savory. The "classic fantastic" with lots of fruit is always a hit. The loaded fries with Parmesan are also very tasty. Very child-friendly. There is always a trampoline, and in the spring and summer, always a bouncy castle. It is a short walk from the parking lot, but it is a beautiful walk. I come here regularly while walking or rollerblading through the park.

Efforts have been made to make it child-friendly. My son played for hours without me having to worry about the water or the little bridge. Great! I will come back more often.

I asked for a pancake with Nutella; there was very little on it, so I asked for more Nutella. Then they put some extra on the top one, but the other two underneath had hardly any Nutella. Very dry and not what I expected, unfortunately.

Wow, what fantastic service! The staff was incredibly sweet. The manager was truly amazing. We had a fantastic surprise party for our daughter at this location. She had a wonderful time. We had a great time playing outside. They even played a song upon arrival. Highly recommended. We had a party here; the kids loved the pancakes with decorations.

Very bad service, you sit on a table and they kick you out even though they told you initially that it was okay to sit down. After you sit in another table that had no sign of reserved and same lady comes to kick you of that table again, you ask, and she says everything is booked. Please learn to do your job you can’t have tables with no sign and people sitting down and kick them out. Either put the sign from the beginning or learn to manage the space of the place, you literally just kicked clients out 3 times, great job for client service. Table were also sticky and unclean. Hope they improve the training for this place.

A really nice pancake restaurant. Plenty of space and fun things for children to play with. There's even room for young babies. Plenty of space to park your stroller and change your baby. There's also a playground outside. Please note that the parking lot is not on-site; it's about a 5- to 10-minute walk from the parking lot past the golf club.

I had low expectations due to all the negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had expected to have to order via a QR code, but the waitress simply came to the table politely to take the order. Apparently, the QR code is only required when it is busy, which is understandable to ensure everyone pays properly. I ordered a hamburger and it was fine. I tasted my children's leftover pancakes. Indeed, nothing special, but oh well, they are pancakes. Anyway, I don't understand why people have such high expectations of that; it is a children's dish after all, and the kids liked it. The coffee was good, the toilets were clean (which is a real plus for a children's restaurant), and the kids could play outside. The average age of the waitresses was young, so you can expect them to be full-time staff. I had no complaints about their service. In terms of price, it is reasonably normal for these times.

Be careful with the pancakes if you have a gluten intolerance. They claim to have gluten-free pancakes, but they're baked on the same baking sheet as the rest, and there's no time to clean the baking sheet, meaning the pancakes made with gluten-free batter still contain gluten from the pancakes that precede them!

Place says on website it opens at 10, google at 1200, we got there at noon no one tried to reach us and ignored us we had to get there and knock and they said they maybe are ready at 1230 to 1300. Terrible service, unfriendly

Cute little pancake place near Utrecht Overvecht with a lovely outdoor terrace. There’s also a playground, which makes it perfect for families with kids. The menu offers a nice variety of pancakes, sandwiches, and drinks. The food is good, though not exceptional. Overall, a nice spot for a relaxed family outing.

Delicious pancakes. It's difficult to get to by car, but it's possible, but you should know that (over the bridge). One star off because I had to find someone for an extra drink. Great for kids; they can play and run around here.

Beautiful location. The menu is limited, the matcha and food weren't very good, and the wait was long. An employee named Ingrid was very unprofessional, verbally aggressive, and rude to us during a conversation. We definitely won't be back because of her or the food.

The menu says they offer organic juices. However, they don't have them and don't sell organic at organic prices. No one seems to know the difference, and there hasn't been a change in the past year. Furthermore, the staff is poorly informed and untrained, and seems indecisive.

We recently celebrated our wedding here and are thrilled with how everything went. The venue is beautiful, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space and a lovely, peaceful park surrounding it. The restaurant has a playful and atmospheric decor that perfectly matched our wedding theme. The communication beforehand was excellent. The team was very helpful and always patient and solution-oriented. No question was too much trouble, and we always received excellent support. On the night itself, everything went smoothly. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted: relaxed, cozy, and warm. We couldn't have asked for better. Highly recommended! Special thanks to Ingrid for her dedication and arranging everything down to the last detail.

What a travesty. No more bacon, no more burgers. Drinks over clothes. Nice TikTok place, but only teenagers who have to arrange it.

What can you do wrong?. Reserved for 17 people. 2 people having a birthday. People chosen centrally in the Netherlands, an average of 1 hour's drive. Order is taken. Unfortunately no bacon. O.k. Too bad. 15 min. Later, unfortunately, there are no hamburgers. Most people had ordered those. Then, to top it all off, drinks are also thrown over a guest. Not good. 2 birthdays ruined. No good excuses. No compensation. Etc. Unfortunately, I can't find any positive points.

For the kids this is a very nice place to play in a safe environment and the staff is also friendly. I find the food very expensive, big prices for small portions.. 8 euros for 7 pieces of cheese sticks, over 10 euros for fries with cheese sauce and a bit of spring onion, and over 10 euros for a small portion of nachos with sauce. We also had the bueno pancake, which looked good but we think the pancake is not freshly baked. For 14 euros we expected this.

First of all, the location is fantastic. Nicely located on the Gageldijk along a nice cycle path. The restaurant itself tries to appear trendy. You can only order via QR code on the table. No interaction with the staff. Pay directly online, where the question is what you get. The pancakes looked okay but the smashburger was really sad. In a simple plastic basket, 1 leaf of lettuce, 1 slice of tomato and some ready-made grated cheddar with a mini dollop of ketchup. And that for 13 euros! I think many snack bars serve a better burger. The toilets were dirty and messy, paper on the floor. If you have children it is ideal because they can run around inside and outside (which they often do), it felt a bit like after-school care. Stuff and screaming everywhere. But without kids it is not recommended. In any case, I won't be coming back here again.

Nice thing if you are with kids. Enough choice on the menu. Service is fast, but the food takes a long time to get to you. You do have to walk a bit from the parking lot (where car burglaries occur regularly), so keep this in mind

The smashed burger, which supposed to be fully cooked was raw, like disgustingly raw, I couldn't even eat it(my boyfriend did). For 13 euro I was expecting better. The pancakes looks great but they are dry, and doesn't taste as good, as it looks. Huge disappointment. The place looks nice, but if you do not have kids be prepared, there will be many kids running around you and they are loud. Very loud. About the service: I haven't seen a singe person who looked older than 18-20, super young girls running around. The problem is that the food is also made by students (?), and clearly they learned how to make it look good, but they do not care about the taste and quality.

My son had a great time playing here, the hamburger was tasty but nothing special. It took a very long time for the food to arrive, no one came by to take a drink. After half an hour I asked the waiter if I could have something to drink. Management does not come by itself.

Had a terrible experience. My toddler climbed into the bouncy castle and came out soaking wet. Mind you it was a sunny autumn day and it has not rained in recent days. Turns out they filled the ENTIRE bounce house with water to “clean” it, without any warning that it is literally an inflatable pool. Not really convenient on a Friday afternoon. Manager not empathetic at all and indicates that “opinions differ on this” (about whether it is okay for water to suffice). The finishing touch is that the manager and employees shrug their shoulders and indicate that there is a sign in the garden stating that you enter at your own risk. Do not indicate that they genuinely find it annoying for us, do not ask if they can do anything for you or if you need anything. No, just a shrug and “yeah, okay”. Meanwhile, my child is walking around without pants and shoes. After and during the conversation with the manager, a number of employees were giggling and the manager immediately walked into the kitchen to talk about it. Really not professional or customer friendly at all. While we were eating, another small child climbed in and this family simply left without eating at all! We waited outside for half an hour, but no one came to take our order. The food was also okay and the service was friendly.

Definitely a fun excursion for young mothers with children who love American snacks. In addition to American pancakes, there are also bowls. But be careful...they are not poke bowls, but fruit snacks for adults. Furthermore, you must really like the pink-yellow combination and be able to tolerate very poor acoustics. An asset...? The coffee was okay.

Literally 1 star purely for the location. But beyond that? SUPER unsanitary! There are dogs walking around, shaking themselves off in the middle of the restaurant. The servants give the dogs a bowl of water with their hands but do not wash their hands afterwards. They barely clean inside. Floor, tables so filthy! Dog hairs, cat hairs everywhere you touch... You wait at least 40 minutes before eating. Have never experienced this before! Definitely NOT worth repeating. Oh for a total of 4 people €85 if you know you know

Good pancakes with plenty of savoury and sweet options. They made a few errors on our bill charging us for a number of items we hadn't ordered.However, as soon as we pointed out the mistake, they were happy to resolve with minimum fuss.

I had dinner here with the family, kids aged 3 and 5. There is plenty of room outside for the children to play. There was an air cushion when I arrived. That's a plus. Perhaps a tip to build a fence along the ditch, the dining area is partly out of sight of the play area. The air cushion was right next to the ditch. Unfortunately, the other experiences were not so pleasant. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food. It was a bit longer, but I hadn't kept track of time before that. Note about the toilets. So these are mixed. They do have a blue and a pink toilet, but these are freely accessible to everyone. I respect everyone's preference, but I didn't like this. A separate toilet that is accessible to everyone would be better. Then about the food. Our order came after forever. No apologies were received from the staff. Apparently this waiting time was normal. The pancakes were mediocre. And they were served quite cold. In terms of structure, they were not pancakes. It looked more like cake with a crispy outside. A pancake should be moist, right? These were on the dry side. A lot of sauce was needed to compensate for this, but then you can hardly taste the pancake anymore. The fries with jackfruit were tasty, although the taste became quite monotonous after a few bites because the jackfruit is quite present. In addition, this tent is really very pricey, in my opinion. Combined with the long wait and the disappointing food, this place is not worth repeating.

Very open space place in the middle of the field, no cars, cafe friendly with pets, children can have fun because they have on the territory trampoline for kids and other stuff! The food is tasty and big portions, cacao drink is so delicious:) So chilling place in sunny weather and not just! Also cash is possible

What a nice place to eat a special pancake with the children, just a short walk from the Blauwkapel car park. Because the weather wasn't too bad, we sat outside so we could keep an eye on the children in the playground. Ordered inside, otherwise friendly service. The Classic Fantastic pancakes were delicious and generous with red and blueberries. The waitress brought extra cutlery herself so we could share the pancakes, great! Delicious coffee too! We dried the bouncy castle ourselves so that the children could use it. If the staff had done this, we would have given five stars.

An ultra modern pancake restaurant in the park. You cannot pay in cash and you order via QR code. It's a bit funny that you can only give tips BEFORE the service, because you don't know yet whether you would like that service.... Especially when there is almost no human contact. Sometimes they bring the wrong order, maybe the GPS of the ordering system is not yet ideal, but I find that a bit funny. While the food is fine. Savory, sweet pancakes and crazy desserts. Location looks nice and spacious. The playground outside is beautiful and ideal for smaller kids. Inside it looks hip, as they now call, Instagrammable. The service was not very good. We were with a large group and ordering something in between was only possible after repeatedly asking. They didn't ask questions on their own. We got a kind of buffet where the pancakes were no longer really warm and the garnishes for them were not very tasty. Yogurt was warm, fruit not very fresh... a shame, because the concept is super fun! If the staff is more experienced and managed well, I think it can be a great success. Nevertheless, I wouldn't skip this place if you have small kids and the weather is nice. A great place to enjoy yourself for a few hours and chocolate spread on your pancake is always good!

Nice place to sit, especially when the weather is nice. Fun for children too! The vegan pancakes were a bit dry, but not bad. For both of us they had forgotten main ingredients that were on the menu, but after asking, they still provided it. The gravy was fine, but didn't taste fresh.

Had dinner after golfing at Chi Chi. It was very quiet so we had to create the atmosphere ourselves, which we certainly succeeded in doing. Pancakes were delicious and the service was nice.

"Fresh orange juice" comes from a jerry can with non-fresh orange juice and therefore does not taste fresh at all. Very nice service. Fun for children but a bit of an Instagram restaurant so unfortunately not recommended.

Nicely decorated and excellent food. You expect more from the pancakes. In any case, these are fresh... Service and hygiene could be much better! Especially because there are small children playing and eating. A shame because it is such a nice unique location!

The staff doesn't even look at you. We just sat there for 30 minutes without anyone looking after us. We had to find a table ourselves. In the end we just left. I also see other (older) reviews with the same experience. Too bad it's still the same now. Do something with the feedback.

Fourteen days ago I visited Pankace's in the park for the first time. What an experiment. For a very reasonable price. Modern look and spacious restaurant. Highly recommended.

It’s a beautiful spot in nature and a very convenient playground for kids while adults can get a nice drink. Fried and burgers are expensive and taste subpar compared to any around the corner fries shop in Utrecht. Safe to say that park part off PIP is really good and the pancake and any other food is expensive and subpar

Location is fine, seems to be set up a bit to take "hip" photos for Instagram. Food was mediocre, needs a lot of maple syrup on the pancakes to prevent the dryness.

Unfortunately the staff were chatting more with each other than focusing on the customers and we had to wait a very long time for our food, even a sorbet ice cream took 15 minutes while there were only 3 tables occupied. I also think the price for this service is ridiculously high, and at checkout they ask if you want to leave a tip, which I automatically think, the amount of the tip depends on the service and service I receive, so I thought that was strange. Furthermore, it was very rough inside, but outside it is nice for children with a nice outdoor play area, they also allow dogs in here, so if you have a dog it's extra nice to come here, you can get some water yourself, buy a bone or dessert especially for your dog. I thought the food was tasty and we had a delicious meal, but I had to sit on the toilet for 3 hours after eating and I still have a stomach ache, but I have no idea if it has anything to do with the chicken. But it was strange that there was nothing wrong and I thought it was a shame that I got a stomach ache after eating it. Furthermore, it was fun to experience.

The restaurant looks very nicely decorated on the inside. It's a shame that that style has not been extended to the terrace. That looks quite simple and without atmosphere. Ordering is done via QR/website, so little interaction with the service. The food and drinks came quite quickly despite the crowds. Pancakes were fine. There is some play equipment for the small children. Our eldest (8) thought he was too old for this. I found the overall experience a bit disappointing.

Been about 5/6 times now and super enthusiastic the first few times, but less and less. Food is fine, but service has no idea... Today was Mother's Day and I called yesterday to ask if we needed to make a reservation, but it wasn't necessary. Explained that we have a child in a wheelchair and in terms of location (accessibility) and stimuli, we would like a quieter place, preferably outside, but we were told that it would be fine and that we did not have to make a reservation. So not... we could sit and that was fine, but inside and luckily we got away before it got too busy with screaming children... If you want a play paradise, that's where you have to be 🤣 We probably won't be back so soon come... Too bad because the food is excellent, the park is beautiful and the area is nice for a nice walk.

Pancakes 🥞 look very good but taste wise they are okay. Kids will enjoy as they have options to play. Nice playtime for kids and an outing for 2-3 hours in a good sunny weather is totally worth the time!

Don't go here for the pancakes because unfortunately they are really hard to eat. Incredibly dirty combinations that look tempting on the menu but are in reality incredibly dirty. Service is also very slow and regularly forgets to bring drinks. It's a shame that no attention is paid to optimizing the pancakes and putting something where people like to eat, especially because the outside area is very nice, especially for kids.

I had high expectations when we went to this place. It looked fantastic on the site and Insta and the menu was tempting!! The reality, however, was somewhat disappointing. Acoustics were terrible and the pancakes were a bit disappointing. Not freshly baked and not warm. Where one was richly invested, the other was rather sparse. Cappuccino was undrinkable. However, the kids enjoyed themselves and had a great time playing outside, there was not much to do inside for the older ones. Staff was not unfriendly, but not very attentive and observant either. Two apple juices arrived too late, half full plates/bottles were almost taken and coloring pages were taken with the waste before we knew it. Our pancakes were neatly wrapped after request, but it was not considered that the pancake could also be wrapped on a different plate. We had a nice meal and it was pleasant, but it leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you expect a lot with the appearance.

Really good food and good prices

A disappointing experience for the first time. Unfortunately I can't email you, hence a review here. A glass of red Merlot turned out to be a lemonade glass with five sips of wine in it and when I asked for a wine glass, that turned out not to be possible. When I asked if a little wine could be added, that turned out not to be possible. Because my table was dirty, I asked if a cloth could be wiped over it. That's what the girl would do. Then that doesn't happen for half an hour. Finally she comes with a cloth and only cleans a table next to me. When the El Pollo arrived after a while of waiting, it was served lukewarm and without cutlery. When I asked for cutlery, I was given a fork and knife that was too small. Then I didn't feel like it anymore and my appetite had gone. This is a shame, because I've come to expect better from you. This was not a good experience for me.

Delicious pancakes. Because we were with the whole family (12 adults and 6 children), we were served pancakes with all the toppings. Something for everyone.

Especially for kids the atmosphere is great. Both inside and outside there is play areas for the kids. It’s also located in a park with waters and some animals which gives a nice opportunity for a walk. I had the loaded fries with chicken. Which was good, but it wasn’t great and missed some taste. The kids had pancakes and they looked really fluffy. The service wasn’t great because there were about five tables and I’ve seen at least 3 waitresses, still I had to wait quite a while to be served.

Enjoy sitting outside, especially on a sunny day. Little ones can also play there. Was very pleased with the different pancakes. And my son was completely happy with the Unicorn Freakshake.

Delicious pancakes! Lots of variety on the menu, something for everyone. We really enjoyed the special pancakes and freshly made smoothies. Young, but friendly staff who do their very best to make everything according to your wishes.

My boyfriend and I both got sick after eating these pancakes. When we called to indicate that they might need to look at data in the kitchen, the phone was hung up without any answer. Not very sympathetic.

Hip restaurant, very friendly service, beautiful location, lots of entertainment for children, delicious food, you can order via QR codes, or if that is too difficult, you can also just do it at the bar, nice terrace, water for the dogs and for the whiners, it is of course not a 5 star restaurant.

Do not / never pay in advance! Fluffy pancakes turn out to be thick, compact, cold, tasteless disks of flour, not freshly baked. Outrageously pricey for what you get. Still 1 star for friendly staff. It is also typical that the operator does not respond to feedback...

I keep giving this restaurant a chance because it is so nicely decorated and it is nice that there is finally a restaurant at this location. But really, as so many people say: how can you make such bad pancakes if pancakes are your core business? I continue to be amazed by it. They are clearly not freshly baked and far from fluffy. My children are not that critical and the açaí bowls that were also sold here were really tasty. But now that they're gone from the map, I really won't be coming back. Tip: Steck's Noordertuin has much more passion for the business and the food is 1000x tastier.
