The pancakes were delicious, and the service was very friendly. You name it, we have it; a huge variety of pancake flavors. Whether you're with two people or a large group, everything is possible. And it's a real treat for kids.

It was very busy, so we had to wait a bit longer for our food and drinks, but the quality of the pancakes was definitely worth it. The appetizers and dessert were also very tasty.

The service wasn't great. There was a clear disagreement among the staff that one waiter was too slow and another couldn't handle more than one thing. It wasn't very helpful to discuss this with guests. Unfortunately, the pancakes weren't quite cooked through.

Cycling from Lattrop to Denekamp, I came across this gem of a restaurant. They totally get it here. Fantastic seating in the beautiful garden under parasols in the shade. A very wide selection, and special requests were also accommodated. All the waitresses were very smartly dressed. Very friendly. Finally, a pancake restaurant where they still make their own batter, not that nasty potato starch mix like in Meijendel, Wassenaar. Delicious, well-made pancakes, good coffee. Real whipped cream. Spacious, clean restrooms. Blankets are provided. Bikes can be charged with plenty of outlets. Comfortable chairs. Absolutely worth the detour. Highly recommended!! P.S. Extra nice, because we've often talked about salespeople who didn't do their job, these salespeople really get it 😀 When you order a pancake, you get the placemat, and the first thing listed is "Desserts." Clever! So it's no wonder they've been around for over 30 years. They also ask if you want something to drink or dessert.

My girls were very excited about getting a tokan to pick a toy. Nice place for kids, good little play area with a computer game. English menu (as well as the Dutch obviously) and staff that spoke English, which is really appreciated. My pancake was amazing. Friendly, and clean.

We stopped in spontaneously and got a nice seat outside. We ate pancakes with Nutella and powdered sugar and hailstones. Both were hot, fresh, and delicious. The service was super friendly.

This review is so sad. People work hard and do their best. But as a customer, I didn't enjoy eating here. The drinks were ordered but never arrived. It turned out they were ready, but on a different table. Then I ordered pancakes. They were brought to us. But they were two pancakes with gluten, while I had ordered without (I have an intolerance). My daughter was already lifting her pancake with her fingers. Where's the bacon? The pancakes weren't for us, but for another table, so they moved them. The pancakes themselves were half-cooked, and the bacon wasn't cooked. Then I had dessert, coffee, and my daughter had ice cream. Ice cream was brought, but no coffee. What a mess. When I paid, the coffee was on the bill, so it was deducted. We could have gotten the ice cream for free for the inconvenience, but I don't care. I pay for what we eat. I'd rather have a better experience. Maybe it's because they don't have good staff. I don't know. But this doesn't end well with this case

Last week, we ate pancakes with five people. We hadn't made a reservation because the website stated there was always room for five. Upon arrival, everything was full and we had reservations, so we had to wait. It was busy, and the lady who greeted us wasn't very friendly and curt. We could have sat outside, so we chose that. As luck would have it, a huge rain shower came, and after insisting, we were finally allowed inside after 10 minutes! They had cleared a space. Very nice and good service, but if they had done that immediately... Then we wouldn't have gotten soaked on the patio! The pancakes were tasty, but not particularly large or particularly filling. On average, you pay around €20.00 for a pancake. We paid €100.00 for three pancakes, some mini frikadelles, a portion of chicken nuggets, and a drink for each, which, to be honest, I think is quite a bit steep! Not something we will repeat...

Nice, cute place with a lot of greenery. My husband requested the pancake to be cooked longer and crispy, but unfortunately it was cooked at a high temperature, so it turned out a bit too dark. However, the portion was very big. Good service, nice employees with costume.

Made a reservation for 8 people. Upon arrival, it was tucked away in a storage/backroom. Garden cushions and decorations were still scattered around. I asked if there was a spot available elsewhere, but it wasn't. After 30 minutes, I still hadn't seen a menu or a waitress. After that, I left and went to another restaurant.

Ordering via a QR code at the table has different (cheaper) rates than ordering from a staff member via the menu. Very strange. Personally, I've had delicious pancakes. It looked fun, and there's plenty for kids to do, even while they wait.

You'll always receive a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The menu is diverse. Everyone will find something to suit their taste. The food is served quickly after ordering. And it tastes excellent. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Parking is plentiful and free. A little tip: Oosterik, a huge garden center, is very close by. If you're already there, you should definitely visit the Pannenkoekenhuis. It's worth it. Highly recommended..👍👍

Traditional pancake house. Service was a disaster – we were ignored.

Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. It took a while to get seated, but then it took over fifteen minutes to receive a menu and order drinks. After that, we also had to wait over 30 minutes for our pancakes. The quality of the food was disappointing. I realize that a pancake with mozzarella, tomatoes, arugula, and pesto might not be a typical choice, but the dish was horrible. The only distinct flavor came from a sweet pesto dressing that didn't complement the rest at all. You don't expect dessert sauce when you order pesto?! When asked if everything was to my liking, I told them I didn't think it was great. The only response: "Oh yeah, the chef makes that pesto dressing himself." No apology, no alternative, just this statement. I found it utterly disappointing.

So the taste is okay, I just found the service not so good, we were sometimes forgotten and got the wrong drink sizes

The pancakes were delicious, but the price-performance ratio wasn't right. A pancake with a tablespoon of pulled pork cost over €20, which is a bit steep.

Perfect restaurant for pancake lovers. Lots of options, from just regular pancakes to special ones with meat, cheese, sauce, fruits... Great service.

Een gezellige plek om lekker pannenkoeken te eten. Ook leuk voor kinderen. Er is een speelruimte waar ze zich kunnen vermaken tijdens het wachten. We hebben een een leuke middag gehad.

Gaststube ist rustikal eingerichtet und wirkt durchaus gemütlich, Die Servicekräfte sind sehr aufmerksam. Sonderwunsch unserer Tochter wurde von der Küche direkt umgesetzt. Gerne wieder.

Heerlijke pannenkoeken. Eigenlijk precies zoals je het verwacht! De uitstraling van de zaak is gezellig. Ook voor glutenvrije varianten hebben ze hier genoeg keuze! Stroop en suiker wordt er nog apart bij gegeven in zakjes zodat je niet de bussen van de tafel hoeft te gebruiken ivm kruisbesmetting! TOP! Medewerkster die de pannenkoek kwam brengen heeft eerst die van mijn man gebracht (de normale) en tussendoor haar handen gewassen en toen die van mij gebracht.

We were lured by a street sign advertising poffertjes. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any on the online menu. And after checking the prices on the drinks menu on the terrace, we decided against visiting the restaurant.

It was delicious. What was annoying was the delivery of the goods by truck at 1 p.m., as the truck's refrigeration was running for an hour while the driver took a break.

We were on our way home from a holiday in Germany (Hengelo) and went to eat at Bolle Jan because we had eaten there a few times in the past and it was very good every time until Wednesday, May 21, 2025 and my wife and I both ate a potato pancake (both pancakes according to Grandpa's recipe). They should delete this sentence immediately because it is definitely not a potato pancake according to Grandpa's recipe, first of all it was VERY VERY GREASY, secondly they forgot to put potatoes in it and instead there was a LOT OF FLOUR in it with a minimum of eggs, so in short it was very bad and not worth repeating, the service was VERY GOOD, with kind regards and take advantage of it.

Had a lovely meal on the cosy terrace for Mother's Day. Seasonal pancake with extra asparagus eaten. What a lovely well-filled pancake. This also applied to the other pancakes. The desserts were also delicious and large portions. Really the best and cosiest in Twente.

Wir waren seit vielen Jahren mal wieder bei "Bolle Jan", diesmal mit der ganzen Familie (8 Personen). Es war wie früher: tolles Essen (Pfannkuchen), toller Service. Auch mit der Onlinereservierung hat alles vorzüglich funktioniert. "Bolle Jan" ist zu 100 % weiterzuempfehlen.

It was already busy in the parking lot and so we had to wait a while. It was around half past six so most diners would be done soon. Within 5 minutes we were able to sit at a table and order. The pancakes arrived fairly quickly and were delicious. Due to the crowds, the space is compact. It is very noisy, especially with children.

Onze ervaring was fantastisch! We kwamen binnen twijfel buiten of binnen, toch voor buiten gekozen. We kwamen erachter dat het wat frisser was vroegen of we naar binnen konden geen probleem! Bediening in een woord geweldig… met de kinderen valt er wel eens iets om op tafel.. bediening pakt het geweldig op leuk met de kinderen. We komen Zelf uit het zuiden. Maar een geweldige ervaring meegemaakt..

Erg lekker gegeten, vriendelijk personeel, sfeervol en zowel binnen als buiten is er speelplezier voor de kinderen, bij vertrek nog een kleine verrassing uit de ballenautomaat. Echt een tip!

Hübsches gemütliches Restaurant mit vielen liebevoll hergerichteten Spielmöglichkeiten für die Kinder. Wir waren mit Hund dort und auch der wurde herzlich umsorgt. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Getränke kalt und das nette Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!

It's a pretty neat place for pancakes and I love that they have a few places for kids to play. However, I think the food is just okay and rather pricey (20 Euros for most pancakes), I think the pancakes are pretty oily and the vegetarian options are not up to standard anymore imho. There are no salads without meat, and even the "vegetable soup" was based on a beef broth last time I asked. Best freshly made herb butter and Poffertjes have ever had though 🤗 The staff is super friendly.

We waren opzoek naar een pannenkoekenrestaurant en online gezocht makkelijk te reserveren, bij aankomst netje ontvangen alles stond netjes klaar volgens afspraak, nette bediening goede uitleg gehad er netjes geholpen grote pannekoeken smaakte erg goed en voor een betaalbare prijs.

Food OK, slightly overpriced, it's best to bring your own drinks, 1 glass of Sinas for 5.50 euros - and that's not 0.5 liters. A glass of beer 0.5 Heineken for 6.50 euros. Dear restaurateurs, I understand that you also have to survive and earn money, but charging 5.50 euros for a glass of Sinas is, in my opinion, to unacceptable. Addendum: The receipt says a large bottle of Sisi, but glasses, i.e. open drinks, were served. If you now consider that a 1.5 liter bottle of Sisi costs just 1.20 euros for the end consumer...

For dessert we discovered the inverted Dame Blanche (chocolate ice cream and vanilla coulis) which we loved!!! Delicious pancakes! Really something different from home, for a reasonable price in a child-friendly setting. The restaurant has a surprising corner so there is plenty of choice. The multitude of tables and chairs makes it feel a bit cramped.

Afgelopen vrijdag, 3 januari geweest. Alles was perfect, bediening, eten geld echt waard. Enige minimaal minpuntje, het was er een beetje koud, maar gaandeweg de avond, toen er wat meer mensen aanwezig waren, werd dat beter. Het was buiten, die dag ook koud.

Bij binnenkomst werd er gezegd dat onze reservering niet in de computer stond terwijl we wel een mail er van hadden. Beetje vreemd. Werden daardoor in een hoekje in de serre neer gezet waar het best koud was. De bediening vonden we ook niet zo vriendelijk. Gelukkig smaakte de pannenkoeken wrl lekker, en daar gaat het ook om.

Wat een feest om hier pannenkoeken te mogen eten met onze 8 kleinkinderen. We hebben genoten. Ook speelhoek en kado kast maken kinderen aan het glunderen.

Very nice restaurant! Delicious pancakes, really tasty. I personally had a summer pancake with strawberries and ice cream, nice and fresh and a really good pancake. Nice and fresh and sweet. Husband had a Greek pancake, and child had a cheese pancake. All super tasty. Nice concept also with the Bolle Jan cuddly toys, the child would like to return for even more of the cuddly toy collection. Very friendly hostess too, plenty of staff, it took a little longer due to crowds, but it was definitely worth it. For dessert, apple strudel and kids coupe with ice cream and fruit. Beautiful large desserts and very nicely varied in taste. And a toy from the vending machine for children is also great.
