Pannenkoekenhuis Candela in Da Costabuurt

I came for dinner with a large group of people. Overall the pancakes were good and there were lots of choices. The restaurant is a bit small on the inside and it can be hard to walk around. The service was good but the food took a long time to come out and we didn’t all get to eat at the same time. I would recommend buying something from the assorted chocolates at the front of the restaurant. We didn’t all get free ice cream as we left dinner.

Great authentic place for a coffee and Dinge pancakes, not a rip off like most other places!

Loved Dutch Pancakes with whipped cream and Cappuccino

Estaba decidido a experimentar las tradicionales tortitas holandesas - no crepes o tortitas americanas. Un paseo por el centro de Amsterdam no dio buenos resultados en su página web hasta que visitamos el Food Hallen, donde esperaba ver la cocina tradicional holandesa. Más decepción hasta que una búsqueda genérica me dejó a la Candela (y solo 7 minutos a pie). Al entrar, se le trata con una variedad de hallazgos de chocolate, no se ponga nervioso - aventurarse más adentro y hay un entorno de estilo café y puede experimentar deliciosas tortitas tradicionales holandesas - hechas rápidamente y con cuidado. Pedí panqueques dulces holandeses con plátano y helado. Mi compañero de viaje tiene mini panqueques holandeses con crema batida. Veredicto: yum, yum y dije yum. Me han descrito con muchos adjetivos que incluyen picky y hoy me alegré porque a pesar de los muchos lugares que afirman que hacen panqueques holandeses - era solo otro panqueque americano en el plato. La Candela no decepciona. No puedo esperar a volver.

This is a special place for all who love good pancakes. It was the best pancakes I ate for a veeeery long time. Super cute family having this business. We recommend the visit! Our personell favorite was the apple pancake.

We had really good dutch pancakes here. We could not believe the place was empty. The pannenkoeken was one of the best I’ve had. If you want nice dutch pancakes this is definitely a good spot!

Pancake house Candela is an absolute must for young and old! In addition to the delicious pancakes - with a wide choice of savory, sweet and vegan options - it is also a chocolate shop where you can buy delicious bonbons, chocolates and marzipan. For lunch you can enjoy toasted sandwiches, croquettes and cheese soufflés. The coffee is also of top quality and makes it complete. Extra plus: the nice children's play corner, where the children can have fun while you quietly enjoy your food. We would definitely like to come back here!

Wow the pancakes! One savory (chicken cheese and mushroom) and one sweet (apple ginger). They say a restaurant with a simple menu is a good choice because they do what they do very well. 100% true here. The proprietor does it all, plus chocolate truffles in the entry. Would definitely return. ❤️

Pancakes were tasty and filling for one person. Only gripe we had was with the price which was astronomical for a pancake. Would suggest sharing for 2.

Traditional Dutch pancake house. Good variety and absolutely delicious! Don’t go when you are in a rush. Slow down and enjoy the experience. Also sell a wide assortment of little chocolates.

Decent but not great. They do have a very wide selection of candies but not sure if made in house. My wife got a pancake (in N. America a giant thick crepe) and I got eggs. I should have gotten them normal but I ordered over and they were overcooked then. But even then nothing special.

Nice quaint pancake place in Amsterdam. Was served by lovely lady, believe this is a family run business. Had a cheese pancake which was tasty. Also bought chocolate and pralines which were very good. Would recommend stopping by for some good pancakes!

Nice authentic family run business with character. It’s a bit off from the center of AMS, but worth going out of your way. Very friendly staff, I assume it’s the owners. The pancakes etc taste lecker. We were a party of 7 and getting everyone served with a tasty dish took a bit, however it was all made with love. Would certainly come again.

I went here because of the reviews, but it wasn't that special at all. If you like cinnamon in your pancake batter then maybe, but it doesn't belong in your pancake. There are by far much better pancake restaurants that are much tastier and of better quality. They don't have Nutella, but it is on the menu, so just put chocolate pasta, but don't promote Nutella. One of the pancakes had strawberries, but for the price you charge you could really do with more. Either we were there at the wrong time or the people who love this have no idea what a pancake is. The only positive was the older sweet lady who helped us, the rest was really not worth repeating. And a natural pancake was not eaten at all because it was not tasty, but taking it off the receipt was appreciated. I didn't ask if that was possible, but I would have appreciated it if it happened. To respond to you anyway: I am the man who posted a comment here and it certainly wasn't delicious, my 6 year old daughter can serve you anything with chocolate and she will like it, that doesn't change the fact that you have Nutella on your menu but you don't serve it to you. guests. Then at least be honest about what you give to your guests. And a few pieces of strawberry on your pancake is also a real disappointment. I give my findings honestly so that others are not faced with the same surprises. In addition, I would do something with it, you can only get better........

The mini dutch pancakes with nutella were excellent. Coffee came with a little chocolate which was a nice touch.

Lovely lady who works here :) we got the most gorgeous appl pancake and original pofertjies !! The atmosphere was lovely and cozy and she even played Christmas music for us !! We really enjoyed our time here and bought some of their beautiful chocolate gift sets as presents for the kids , love it here we had a lovely breakfast 🩷

Wir haben lange nach einem schönen Ort zum Essen gesucht und sind dann zu diesem Laden, weil uns die sonnigen Plätze ansprachen. Die Kellnerin war eine super liebe ältere Dame. Und das Essen hat uns sehr geschmeckt. Leider etwas teuer, aber das ist ja normal in Amsterdam.

First time visiting Amsterdam. I am falling in love with this city. Found this cute pancake house with a lot of variety chocolate. The owner was very friendly and the mushroom, onion pancake is simple but the best pancake I ever had. I would definitely recommend that you try it out if you are visiting in Amsterdam.

Heerlijke pannenkoeken en super lieve mensen. Stap om 17.45 de zaak binnen met Italiaanse vrienden en krijg te horen dat de zaak sluit om 18.00. Maar direct krijg ik te horen, kom binnen ga lekker zitten, Paul maakt nog extra beslag. De pannenkoeken waren overheerlijk en mijn gasten genoten. Dank jullie wel lieve mensen wat een SUPER service. Ook de eigen huis gemaakte pralines smaakten heerlijk. Voor ieder een aanrader in Amsterdam om pannenkoeken te gaan eten bij Pannenkoekhuis Candela. Mochten er Michelin sterren bestaan voor pannenkoeken dan zijn er zeker drie voor jullie. Nogmaals hartelijk dank voor de service en heerlijke pannenkoeken

Sehr leckere Pfannkuchen. Die Besitzerin ist super freundlich. Es kann zu etwas längeren Wartezeiten kommen, allerdings nimmt man das hier sehr gerne in Kauf

Excellent chocolate and pancake shop in Oud-West Amsterdam. At first, it may look like a small chocolate shop from the entrance but once you enter you see the tables and restaurant behind it. It’s been around for many decades. Wonderful chocolate, ice cream and pancakes. Great service too!

Vegane Pfannkuchen sehr zu empfehlen. Richtig lecker und preislich in Ordnung. Die Atmosphäre ist nicht so ganz unseres. Die Tische waren nicht geputzt. Dafür war es schön ruhig und man konnte sich gut unterhalten.
