Uncooked pancakes rolled up, embarrassing for Dutch people. Don’t even have Dutch Stroop. If you want a pancake go somewhere else. If you don’t care you are at right spot Updated: Sorry but reviews are put in place to give a true reflection of food and service offered. This review is unsponsored, so a true reflection, would be good if you try to take feedback on and improve the service. You charge 1.75 Euro for a squirt of cheap maple syrup. Easy to offer some more local syrup as well. Pancakes should not be doughy, need a little bit more time and care. This a photo of a nearby competitor, who made my visit to the Netherlands feel more like home.

Very kind hosts, upbeat music, warm and not too crowded. The mini pancakes are perfect if you want a quick bite to keep you up and walking through amsterdam

Love that they do a wheat free pancake here that actually tastes as satisfying as a traditional pancake and that it can also be done vegan. It's small inside and outside but they work so fast that you never have to wait too long. You can see your pancakes being made by a no nonsense Amsterdam cook.

I was on the hunt for a great pancake spot in Amsterdam and stumbled upon The Happy Pig. After reading all the glowing reviews, I knew I had to give it a try — and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The service was friendly and welcoming, and the pancakes were simply delicious. Highly recommend this place to anyone craving a memorable pancake experience.

Quality sweat and savoury pancakes

Went a while back and walked by today and was reminded of my horrid experience with henny….and gagged walking by thinking of the terrible pancakes

It's quite a tiny place with a few stools and one small table with not a lot of room to maneuver. We came in to have a coffee and maybe buy some pancakes/have brunch. We were just waiting for our 3 other friends to come after spa treatments and they would have come in 15 min. Anyway, the owner must have decided that there is a time limit on the coffee and tea we ordered as he asked us to leave our table. There was another group of 3 young women who came in, and I had already moved to accomodate them. They were equally confused by the owners request. It's fine if he had asked us to switch spots but how he asked was not so friendly and it felt rude. Anyway it's on the breakfast place lists but it's more of a grab and go spot so just be aware of you were coming to sit and eat with friends.

Found this place while on travel, and it was definitely worth it!! Delicious food and wonderful employees! Bonus, they have Vegan options!

The pancakes with apple filling were delicious. Really casual, warm a cozy tucked away right by the canals. A much nicer option than the big franchises in de Wallen. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.

Really yummy pancakes and rolled up nicely for easy eating. We were in a hurry to make it to a canal cruise, so we got there right when it opened. The staff was quick and because of the way the pancakes were rolled up, it was quick to eat. We’re vegan and they had a vegan pancake option which you can substitute in. You can choose from some signature pancake or add your own toppings. We had Everybody’s Sweetheart and Dutch Delight. Both very delicious and filling. We don’t eat onion or garlic, so the Dutch Delight was one of the savory ones that we could eat. I’m sure there are others, but didn’t inquire more since we were in a hurry. The shop is small so you may not get a place to sit. It got crowded very fast.

If you want to eat inside, you pay double for the pastries. They say it's for service, but moving a cinnamon roll 50cm should be free. I do NOT recommend this cafe. GaLiGrü

pancakes are delicious and came back on our next trip to amsterdam after enjoying them so much previously. minus a star as the matcha really was not great, it had lumps of powder in it which was a shame

Would not recommend for food allergies. Wait staff was not knowledgeable (they didnt even know what vegan meant) and cook said everything was cross contaminated and risky

I wish I could be writing a review about the food, but I never got the chance. I arrived to the shop around 30 minutes before closing time, and was turned away by the staff, who initially ignored me and then flat out refused to serve me despite having a half hour before closure. I would understand reluctance if this was 10 minutes before closure, but it was thrice that yet I was not even allowed to order something to take away. I was very disappointed and appalled with the service and would not recommend to the richest human alive, as basic manners and courtesy cost nothing but the staff were still completely lacking.
