A word of advice: People who look foreign should not enter that store. So many have been treated terribly because of their appearance. Racist remarks have also been made.

One of the staff members apparently doesn’t like “black faces.” Pancakes may be good, but there are plenty of better places where people are treated with basic respect. Racism is unacceptable.

He really should work on his customer service.

Really good, although overpriced.

A very disappointing experience. We felt discriminatory and anything but welcome. The fact that management neither took the situation seriously nor offered an apology only reinforced this impression. This is reason enough for us not to return.

Warning ‼️ Foreigners are verbally attacked and insulted by employees and the manager. They say things like, "I don't like your black face," etc. People who were also in line were insulted as well. Anyone who looks foreign should definitely avoid this store.

The Dutch Delight with ham was delicious and I left feeling satiated but not over stuffed. Visited on a Thursday around 10:30 am. and was able to snag a table in their small shop. Very reasonably priced and in a cute neighborhood. Service and food were excellent.

Fantastically friendly people with a passion for their craft. Traditional pancakes (sweet and savory) and poffertjes are available, but there are also many options for vegans or those who are gluten and/or lactose intolerant. If there is no room, you can also easily take it away in eco-friendly packaging. Good for the planet and your tummy!

Didn't get to eat here so not sure how the food is. On their site they list having gluten free options, but the menu at the restaurant lists gluten lite. Not sure what that means, something is either gluten free or not. I'm celiac so I didn't want to take a chance.

Really good, gourmet pancakes. You can even make your own for under €12. I highly recommend it if you're in Amsterdam and want something traditional.

This was absolutely amazing. I could have eaten different varieties of this all day. First time I’ve ever had this type of pancake. I ordered the traditional with Gouda cheese and bacon fillings. I added honey and caramel sauce as the toppings. It was absolutely delicious.

The mini pancakes here are so fresh and delicious! Definitely a place to visit if you wanna try Dutch mini pancakes for the first time or so.

Tasty vegan crèpes! It does seem a bit wasteful though, that everything is served with disposable dishes and cutlery.

We love the happy pig. It is one of our favorite stops to frequent in Amsterdam. Everybody in there is incredibly friendly and super welcoming, and the pancakes are great.

If you find yourself in Amsterdam and want a wonderful breakfast (or brunch), make your way to The Happy Pig Pancake Shop. It's a small shop with limited seating but the food is fantastic and the staff are wonderful. My family and I ate there twice and tried different dishes on every visit. Our biggest regret: we didn't eat there every morning we were in Amsterdam. If you're gluten-free and vegan, The Happy Pig has food that will leave a smile on your face.

Unfriendly staff, especially towards Germans!!! I was standing on the street! Not in the store! Since our wives placed the order…the store manager yelled at me about being polite three times! They also kept the money from the order! Instead of giving it back!

Lovely Dutch pancakes!! I had vegan with strawberries, veg Nutella and whipped cream. Amazing! My husbands has a savory one and he loved it. Kind staff ✨🌱

They were different and tasty. We had the rolled traditional pancakes with banana, choco hazelnut and whipped cream on top.

Had a vegan pancake topped with chocolate hazelnut sauce. Tasted good. You can also choose a filling of baked apple with cinnamon or banana and vegan whipped cream, for example. They also have plant-based milk for coffee (+€0.50).

We wanted to eat here and ordered from the man who was making the pancakes, which was a big mistake. He looked at us like he was about to kill us and told us we had to order from the woman. We decided to leave. Extremely unfriendly.

We were looking for a less touristy breakfast spot with vegan options and stumbled upon this restaurant. I ordered the poffertjes with strawberries, and they were the best I've ever had—simply perfect: super fluffy, slightly fudgy, and incredibly moist, all freshly prepared. My boyfriend had a classic pancake, which was vegan with maple syrup, vegan whipped cream, and strawberries. It was absolutely delicious! 🤩

Cheese and bacon pancake had the bacon crisped just right. Fast and piping hot. As an added bonus, they have a classic Marazzco coffee machine that makes quality espresso reliably! (I had a cappuccino)

On our last day in Amsterdam we tried the “Everybody’s Sweetheart” (right one) and “vegan pancakes with strawberry filling and vegan whipped cream” (left one). We also ordered a coco iced matcha latte (on the left) and a caffe latte. 100% recommendable; portions are filling and fresh made, also price is reasonable for everything we paid ~ 31€

As a vegan, it's not always easy to find something to eat out that doesn't contain animal products. Here I had vegan pancakes with banana and chocolate sauce. Extremely delicious. The place is cozy. You can also sit outside and watch the people go by. There's an extra €0.50 for the cappuccino with oat milk, which isn't exactly fair, but okay, unfortunately you just have to accept it.

We tried little pancakes (poffertjes) with caramel syrup and a savory Dutch pancake filled with tomatoes, beans, and a special spicy sauce made by the shop's chef. Be it for a savory pancake or a sweet treat, this place is a great option in Amsterdam!

A very cute little place, highly recommended if you're in the area! The dishes are unique, but the wall stickers are also very distinctive.

i dont like to complain but i came across a racist attitude from one of the workers the ruined my whole experience, other than that the pancakes were awesome.

Unfortunately, they got our order wrong, and there weren't even that many people there. The pancake wasn't even that good considering how expensive it was—we paid €14 for a single pancake, a crazy price.

If you want to try the best pancakes ever, come on by. Vegan options available, too!

The serving guy ?Viggo was very abrupt and quite rude but otherwise the pancakes themselves were very good although personally I felt the portion was quite small. The atmosphere and amount of room in the venue was quite cramped and awkward. Probably would not visit again as we found better pancakes with more pleasant service and ambience elsewhere.

We got two delicious vegan Dutch pancakes - the chili from da house, and the strawberry with maple syrup and vegan whipped cream.

We shared a savory and sweet favorite called "Dutch Delight", and a hazelnut banana Dutch mini pancake, plus their fresh squeezed OJ. Lovely setting with fast service. Highly recommend if you're in central Amsterdam!

Absolutely delicious! The poffertjes simply melt in your mouth and the Dutch pancakes are fantastic. I highly recommend the Dutch delight and the cheese + chutney combo. It’s a causal environment, so you pick your seat and order at the counter, which is good if you’re not looking for a drawn-out affair.

My favorite food in Amsterdam. Many gluten free, vegan options. Friendly atmosphere. I will cross the ocean again just for Happy Pig. Highly recommend pancakes with strawberries, chocolate hazelnut sauce (can’t believe it’s vegan!) and vegan whipped cream. Perfection!!

Delicious food, fast and friendly staff.

Their online menu says gluten free but their buckwheat is actually "gluten light" because they don't guarantee no cross contamination nor does their provider of buckwheat, so don't go if you're actually allergic

Nothing happy about this place! They close at 18:00 and at 17:10 they don't allow you to order anymore... In the street we heard other people talking about the grumpy old man that cooks and it's mentioned in many of these comments!!I 🤣 We will never come back!

Yummy food but charged me for a very expensive earth water when I had a zero coke . Shame I didn’t notice it when I got the receipt. I hope they don’t normally over charge ….

Got the everybody's sweetheart (chocolate banana pancake) and the custom maple syrup banana pancake. Both were ok, nothing out of this world. VERY small place with just a few seating places. Good quick bite, but I wouldn't go out of my way for them next time.
