We ate here (for the first time) to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and there was plenty for the children to play with. We will definitely be back :)

Booked via Social Deal; first coffee with apple pie, then a beautiful walk in the woods, and upon returning, tomato soup, a pancake of choice, and the kids had an ice cream afterwards. It tasted delicious, the staff were friendly. The only point of attention is clearing the tables once they are finished.

Thursday afternoon, an almost empty terrace and no room for 3 people and a toddler, because there was no reservation. The young waitress was not customer-friendly at all, stupid, and refused to show us to a table. Not a welcoming establishment at all. Not recommended.

We had lunch here with 5 adults and 3 children. What unwelcoming, uninterested service. Absolutely no initiative and nowhere to be seen. We had to ask for everything: drinks, food, ice cream that was part of the children's menu, pencils, and whether they would clear the table, well over half an hour after we had finished eating. The food was tasty and the playground was fun. Due to the poor service, we will never go to Boskabouter Vaassen again.

The pancakes were tasty and not greasy, well-topped, and of a normal size. The service, however, was truly amazing. In terms of decoration, there were murals and coloring pages for the children.

Gister wezen avond eten met het gezin, het terras zat helemaal vol maar toch was het personeel snel bij ons aan tafel voor de bestelling! De pannenkoeken waren snel op tafel en we hebben heerlijk gegeten. Erg positief over de avond!

We regularly come here on Sundays with the girls for a bite to eat and a drink. A lovely, relaxed, and cozy atmosphere. The children have a great time playing here. The hostess on Sundays is also incredibly pleasant.

We had a delicious meal at De Boskabouter in Vaassen. The dishes were freshly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and there was plenty of choice on the menu for both lunch and dinner. The homey atmosphere and friendly service, in particular, made the experience extra pleasant. The food was served quickly, and everything was served at the right temperature. A lovely place for a cozy dinner in a relaxed setting. We will definitely be back!

We had a delicious meal with our family. It's great that you can also get gluten-free and lactose-free pancakes here! The children had a great time in the play basement and on the game console. The coloring page on the placemat was also a hit. The colored pencils just need to be sharpened a bit more often. ;)

It's been a week now and I've had zero response. I also wrote an email and received a reply saying "we will contact you," but that hasn't happened either. This is just as bad as the pancakes!! We ate here tonight with 5 people; what incredibly bad service. People really don't know what they're doing. Ordering pancakes also went wrong, and it cost a lot of money too. You won't see me here again.

What a lovely place. Even the weather was good. Super service with a good sense of humor and enormous patience. And the food was delicious.

Seated at the table at 6:30, order taken at 10 to 8 (kitchen closes at 8). Had to ask multiple times to order. The asparagus soup was lumpy wallpaper paste and lukewarm. The pancake was lukewarm too. Even with the place almost empty, no staff in sight. Tables were not cleared. The bar isn't set high for a pancake restaurant, but they managed to fall far short. Never had such a bad experience.

Beautiful location by the forest where we ate pancakes yesterday together with Grandpa and Grandma and their grandchildren. Highly recommended, we must say.

The pancakes were undercooked, and the cheese on the pancake wasn't even melted. There were 10 of us, and the pancakes were not served one after the other. As a result, half of us ended up with a half-cooked, cold pancake. The very young waitstaff were particularly nice, though, and did their utmost.

Nice and cozy pancake restaurant. Plenty of fun things for all children, big and small, and friendly and fast service. Time flies by, as we sat there for an hour and a half and everyone enjoyed it.

We come here often with our daughter, and frequently bring friends along. Everyone is very positive about this beautiful location, and the playground has just been completely renovated. The people in the kitchen, led by Gert, are lovely. The wait staff is quite young, but hey, that doesn't matter at all; they do a great job! 😀 Everything is super neat and new.

We had a delicious meal with the three of us. The pancakes were good, and there was a nice and cozy atmosphere.

Upon arrival, the terrace looked terrible. Dirty tables with a lot of dirty dishes. When we still hadn't seen any service after fifteen minutes, I decided to walk inside. There was no one to be found in the building, and in the meantime, more people had come to sit on the terrace. It turned out that all the staff were sitting outside at the back of the building. The staff is friendly, but clearly does not know what hospitality work entails. The organization within the staff is sloppy and certainly needs to be improved.

We ended up here via Social Deal, a 3-course meal for €17.95. I had a tasty asparagus soup as a starter, followed by a bacon and onion pancake and a Sundae ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. The food was of good quality and tasted good. Inside, it is nicely and playfully decorated with an eye for children. In good weather, you can take a seat on the terrace. The young staff were friendly and kept a close eye on everything. For beer lovers: there is plenty of choice, and they also have specialty beers. Wine lovers are a bit less well catered for.

I have truly never eaten such bad pancakes. My cheese/bacon pancake was served with cold grated cheese on top. The cheese was not cooked in, not even melted. The apple/raisin pancake was far too thick, spongy, and only half-cooked. We returned this one. The new pancake was admittedly thinner, but spongy and half-cooked again. So we didn't eat this one either. However, the way they handled our complaints deserves praise. We can only say that this was resolved properly. Nevertheless, we will not be returning here.

Much too quiet on Saturday evening. There were at most 30 guests. The food was okay, but unfortunately, the barbecue sauce was out of stock. The children's pancakes were only plain, meaning that if you order a variation, they are much too big for children. Desserts consist only of soft serve ice cream and are much too large for children, resulting in a lot of mess and wasted food. The play area was locked well before closing time, leaving the children dissatisfied. Not a place we would return to.

We reserved a table for 7 people weeks ago. Upon arrival, we were given a spot inside by the outside door. We immediately complained that it was far too cold there. The door was open. We were told we could close it. This didn't help. We filed another complaint. We were given a rude response by the person in charge. After asking for another table again (there were plenty of empty tables), we were allowed to move to the other side of the door. Better, but certainly not ideal. Another party arrived after us and were allowed to move immediately. They forgot to bring one pancake with the order first, and the same thing happened with the dessert. Furthermore, they wanted to clear the table while our grandson was still eating. We left early to help other people who were also seated in the spot by the door. On the positive side, our grandson received a reading book as a gift afterwards. But next time, no more Boskauter Vaassen.

Coming in for dinner at 5:00 PM and walking out again at 5:32 PM. That's really not fun! We won't be doing that again. Also, one pancake that really could have been cooked better.

We had pancakes with friends and ice cream for dessert. That evening, two of the four got sick, one of whom was still sick the next day with severe stomach and intestinal problems! We called the restaurant and reported it, but unfortunately, they dismissed it as not the restaurant's fault, so there must be something else going on! So, the blame was shifted onto us! I think that's really awful, two people getting sick after eating at the restaurant! So completely dissatisfied with how this was handled! No more pancakes and ice cream for us at De Boskabouter in Vaassen! And then the restaurant's response, as shown below, what a disgraceful reaction! And no, sir! None of us were sick before we dined with you! Look for the cause elsewhere... that's called cleaning up your own street! Bad business, bad reaction! By the way, after my comment, the owner deleted his bad comment and posted an edited version!

Delicious pancakes, friendly and efficient service

I used to be a pancake baker myself, and I must say… the pancake baker in this kitchen knows his trade… the service is also very hospitable ☺️

Phew, anyone can make a delicious pancake. Delicious with apple, raisins, and cinnamon. At the forest gnome, the pancake with wafer-thin apple slices is thick, floury, and undercooked. If you want raisins and cinnamon, the pancake is €2 more expensive. Too bad even the Albert Heijn coupon wasn't appreciated.

We had some really delicious special pancake dishes. They included venison stew, pulled pork, and NPG 1 salmon. The company enjoyed it, and the atmosphere was great.

Excellent pancakes and generous toppings. The service was friendly. It's good that you came to ask if everything was to our liking and if we'd like anything else to drink, but it's better to wait a bit longer and not two minutes after we received our food with full glasses of drinks. 😉 Otherwise, it was perfectly fine.

Very friendly and fast service. The pancakes were good, but not fantastic, to be honest. It was nice and relaxing on the terrace. We told them we were playing a game and didn't have much time, and they handled that perfectly. We had our food and drinks in no time :) Good staff, great pancakes, and a nice place.

Quickly grabbing a Social Deal. Arranged by my lovely wife. We had lunch with a classic pancake with apple and bacon. My wife opted for a pancake with apple and cinnamon sugar. They were so delicious I forgot to take a picture! And then we had soft serve ice cream with a topping. That was also delicious. It's clear that children are the target audience, but because it was pouring rain, it was quiet. I have to say, they really catered to their target audience. It looked professional and clean. The service was good, and the pancakes were well-made and neatly made. And as mentioned before, they were delicious. This is clearly one of the better pancake houses, definitely recommended with or without children.

A few years ago, we stayed at the park and dined at Nico's several times. We're currently staying in Kootwijk, so it's worth driving to Vaassen to eat at De Bosrand.

It's pancakes so what can you say? I was full, new culinary experience. A fun gimmick. We arrived at a time when the mascot looked out, greeted everyone he did. It was a good atmosphere for someone who didn't expect a 2m tall gnome to come into the pancake house. Nice place, nice location, nice playground outside. Children get doubloons when they order food that can be exchanged for toys depending on how many you have. We got 3 when we ordered. We chose a nice JoJo.
