Coming in for dinner at 5:00 PM and walking out again at 5:32 PM. That's really not fun! We won't be doing that again. Also, one pancake that really could have been cooked better.

We had pancakes with friends and ice cream for dessert. That evening, two of the four got sick, one of whom was still sick the next day with severe stomach and intestinal problems! We called the restaurant and reported it, but unfortunately, they dismissed it as not the restaurant's fault, so there must be something else going on! So, the blame was shifted onto us! I think that's really awful, two people getting sick after eating at the restaurant! So completely dissatisfied with how this was handled! No more pancakes and ice cream for us at De Boskabouter in Vaassen! And then the restaurant's response, as shown below, what a disgraceful reaction! And no, sir! None of us were sick before we dined with you! Look for the cause elsewhere... that's called cleaning up your own street! Bad business, bad reaction! By the way, after my comment, the owner deleted his bad comment and posted an edited version!

Delicious pancakes, friendly and efficient service

I used to be a pancake baker myself, and I must say… the pancake baker in this kitchen knows his trade… the service is also very hospitable ☺️

Phew, anyone can make a delicious pancake. Delicious with apple, raisins, and cinnamon. At the forest gnome, the pancake with wafer-thin apple slices is thick, floury, and undercooked. If you want raisins and cinnamon, the pancake is €2 more expensive. Too bad even the Albert Heijn coupon wasn't appreciated.

We had some really delicious special pancake dishes. They included venison stew, pulled pork, and NPG 1 salmon. The company enjoyed it, and the atmosphere was great.

Excellent pancakes and generous toppings. The service was friendly. It's good that you came to ask if everything was to our liking and if we'd like anything else to drink, but it's better to wait a bit longer and not two minutes after we received our food with full glasses of drinks. 😉 Otherwise, it was perfectly fine.

Great pancake house to eat with (grand)children

We had a delicious meal. Besides the fantastic playground for our son, the staff was also very child-friendly, which made it a truly wonderful evening for all of us. We'll definitely be back!

Very friendly and fast service. The pancakes were good, but not fantastic, to be honest. It was nice and relaxing on the terrace. We told them we were playing a game and didn't have much time, and they handled that perfectly. We had our food and drinks in no time :) Good staff, great pancakes, and a nice place.

Quickly grabbing a Social Deal. Arranged by my lovely wife. We had lunch with a classic pancake with apple and bacon. My wife opted for a pancake with apple and cinnamon sugar. They were so delicious I forgot to take a picture! And then we had soft serve ice cream with a topping. That was also delicious. It's clear that children are the target audience, but because it was pouring rain, it was quiet. I have to say, they really catered to their target audience. It looked professional and clean. The service was good, and the pancakes were well-made and neatly made. And as mentioned before, they were delicious. This is clearly one of the better pancake houses, definitely recommended with or without children.

A few years ago, we stayed at the park and dined at Nico's several times. We're currently staying in Kootwijk, so it's worth driving to Vaassen to eat at De Bosrand.

Delicious pancakes, pizzas and schnitzels are also on the menu, fast service, and the interior is geared towards children.

It's pancakes so what can you say? I was full, new culinary experience. A fun gimmick. We arrived at a time when the mascot looked out, greeted everyone he did. It was a good atmosphere for someone who didn't expect a 2m tall gnome to come into the pancake house. Nice place, nice location, nice playground outside. Children get doubloons when they order food that can be exchanged for toys depending on how many you have. We got 3 when we ordered. We chose a nice JoJo.

My daughter's pancake could have been left in the pan longer, but this time they were not cooked properly. My fish and chips, on the other hand, were downright gross!! The fish tastes dry, not fresh, crispy crust was way too dark and the added salad really makes no sense. Couple of lettuce leaves with tomato and cucumber. And remulade sauce is not McDonald's sauce, it did not come close to remulade sauce. In short, the last time we visited the forest gnome.

The perfect place to eat with your children. Staff are friendly. Delicious pancakes and plenty of choice. Many different play areas for the children. Outside there is a beautiful playground and the basement where they can go about their business undisturbed. But the active table is also a hit.

The pancakes were tasty and not greasy, well-filled and of normal size. Service was something, it took a long time before our order was taken, even though it really wasn't busy. The atmosphere in terms of decoration, there were murals and coloring pages for the children, but the heating was either not on or very low. Several of us kept our coats.

The plain pancakes were a bit on the thick side, but otherwise very tasty.

Tonight, September 22, 2024, we had dinner with 4 people.. Reserved at 5:30 PM... We received our pancakes half an hour later...this can't be possible! If it is busy, you can still report this when taking your order, so we can decide for ourselves whether we want to stay seated, but no... they don't tell us anything. When you get your food, my pancake is black on the edges and undercooked on the inside... A real disappointment, and the bill wasn't bad... This is very unfortunate

I don't think the cook was having his day. Pancakes were thick and undercooked. 2nd attempt same story. Also saw several fairly black pancakes passing by. And fresh orange juice on the menu, but it tasted and looked like Appelsientje with simmer.... Not worth repeating.

Pancake was tasty. It's just a shame that children get large cutlery. And 2 coins, we live further away so you immediately take something for the coins. Well you can't choose just bouncy ball. That's not really a good gift for little ones, they put everything in their mouths. So that's a shame.

A cozy covered terrace. Friendly staff. Delicious pancakes. Nice little playground in front of the terrace (you cannot supervise it from the terrace). There is a play corner for children under and at the back of the restaurant. Overall a nice experience.

Delicious food, good quality-price ratio. Children had a great time in the soft garden! However, from 7.45 pm we were the only ones on the terrace and we got the feeling that we 'had' to leave. Definitely worth repeating.

Nice place to eat with your children, very nice atmosphere and nice playground. Pancakes were mediocre, one very thick, the other almost too dark, pancake specialties were very disappointing, few toppings and 'fresh salad' were 3 leaves of lettuce and not in proportion to the prices. It was very busy and everyone did their best, but the food was very mediocre. Ice cream sundae disproportionate in price. children's cup had double the amount of ice. Unfortunately, for the 2nd time in a row for us, the soft ice cream machine broke down and not all options were available (had the same experience in Wezep).

Unfriendly and not clear. We sat on the terrace to have a drink after our bike ride, At first we were told that they are a non-smoking terrace that is allowed... but I don't smoke but vape. It was also not indicated anywhere that it was a non-smoking terrace. Shortly afterwards we had to leave the table because it had been reserved?!?! There was no sign on the table so it was not neat... so we left. So I definitely won't come here again.

The food is fantastic...the kids had a great time! There were 17 of us. We had made a reservation well in advance while we were waiting for everyone to arrive, the waiter came and told us that we had to eat in a period of 2 hours. This is not mentioned anywhere on the site, it was a real disappointment!

Didn't choose a pancake but chicken satay. Partly blackened, high price 22.50 for 1 chicken satay stick, about 50 fries and 20 lettuce leaves. Very cold in terms of ambient temperature.

Nice place to go as a family or with children. Nice seating areas, plenty of types of pancakes, also a children's menu and vegetarian choice. Leuk pannenkoeken restaurant met speeltuin voor de kinderen. Binnen hebben ze ook nog een speelhoek. Daar door konden wij nog lekker natafelen. Goed bevallen en niet te duur.

Heerlijk ijsje in een mooie omgeving

Heerlijk gegeten, zeer vriendelijk personeel. Erg leuk voor kinderen.

Vorige week even een iets mindere ervaring gehad door drukte en omstandigheden maar vanavond meer dan goed gemaakt. Prima ontvangst en bediening. Gastvrouw was zeer aardig, betrokken en service gericht. Het eten ( houthakkerssnitzel) was heerlijk. We komen hier al een aantal jaren als we in de buurt op vakantie zijn en het is altijd een leuke avond. We komen hier zeker een volgende keer weer. De pannenkoeken zijn ook altijd heerlijk. Zeker een aanrader.

Lekker gegeten met HECO GVB! Na de Grand Fundo Veluwe ride van 90, 130 of 160 km op de racefiets mochten we op het park met de hele groep van 16 mensen douchen, hartelijk dank daarvoor! In ruil daarvoor hebben we met de hele groep overheerlijke pannekoeken gegeten in het restaurant van het park. Super goed geregeld hier, nogmaals dank voor de goede service!
