We wanted to have dinner to round off a pleasant weekend at the holiday park, but initially they accepted our reservations. When we left, the reservation was cancelled verbally; they said they weren't accepting reservations due to a lack of staff. We couldn't just walk in either; the bistro was also closed due to a staff shortage. Everything in the sports area was already reserved. Very poor service for such a large park.

Very good food and very friendly staff

I was here a few years ago and had a delicious meal; it was quiet and cozy. Now, in late May 2026, I went again and it was disappointing. It was restless, noisy, and the food was mediocre, very standard. Such a shame. It might already help to install some sound-dampening materials.

In the past, this was a good place to go for an XXL salad. It is still fresh lettuce and flavorful with crispy bread, but the portions are becoming increasingly minimalist for that price. The goat cheese variant has been removed from the menu.

I ate at De Waterspiegel again today. I ordered a plain pancake, as I have done quite often before. Previously always delicious and freshly baked. Today, I got the impression it was a ready-made pancake. The quality was really a bit lousy. Too little staff... What a shame!!!

We had dinner to wrap up the May holidays. Two years ago, our son had a poffertjes tasting, but got a terrible stomach ache after just one bite (not from the food 🤣). Now we went back again and he was disappointed that the poffertjes tasting had disappeared from the menu. Pauline, the manager who happened to be filling in there, heard the story and made him absolutely delighted by turning the pancakes into a tasting. He was so happy! We couldn't believe how much effort and love she put into this for him! She is a real star, and his face was beaming from ear to ear when he received it. Thanks again so much, Pauline! He is still talking about you. You really left a lasting impression.

I had some delicious ice cream and a lovely fresh ginger tea in the evening. The service was incredibly friendly.

I don't agree with the bad reviews either; nice girls who work hard there. Delicious lunch and tasty burgers with fries. We always come here a few times a year that we stay at the holiday park, again in October.

Bought Vis Social Deal vouchers and was able to order a delicious 3-course menu with them: starter, delicious pancake, and a fantastic dessert. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but sometimes you don't have room for dessert after the starter and the pancake; in that case, you can also have coffee, no problem. Had another delicious meal.

All I can say is, what a shame... It's a nice location in itself, but the furniture is dated, and the chairs really need replacing. The food was quite good, but unfortunately, our order was forgotten, and we received only one dish. My two children and I had to wait half an hour before anything happened. After inquiring, there was no response at all, and after another 15 minutes, we were told that one of the dishes was an appetizer and that's why they had waited... Everyone, and I mean everyone, who arrived after us had already finished their food. All well and good, mistakes happen, but an admission of error would have been enough for us... a simple apology... maybe even a free drink or something... Instead, we were served rudely, and they even expected a tip... We won't be eating here again.

We had a wonderful meal with our kids. What's written below about the staff is nonsense, as far as we're concerned. This young staff (which is very hard to find these days) was excellent and very friendly! Well-filled pancakes with a fantastic view!

It looks inviting, but the staff is not friendly. A debit card machine was slammed on the table after someone commented that the bill was incorrect because there was one ice cream too many. They then told us to use our debit card. We tried to discuss this with her, but it wasn't possible. So we asked for the manager. She indicated there was a buildup of frustration. When we asked further, she told us not to complain. In short, not recommended.

Don't do it! Unprofessional treatment by the staff. Substandard quality. Substandard service. When you confront them about an incorrect receipt, they throw a payment terminal at you. When you bring it up, they claim there were built-up frustrations... mutual. No idea what they were referring to. The team leader is rude and has a terrible attitude. She uses terms like whining and complaining and then denies how she treated you! We booked through Social Deal, and they provided us with excellent service. Based on their advice, we're still posting a review.

Beautiful restaurant, received very good service, and the food was fine. The only real shame is that it costs €7 for parking. €3.50 per hour; we stayed for 75 minutes, so we ended up paying €7. Nice and pleasant location, but next time I will look for somewhere where you don't have to pay so much for parking.

We visited three times during our two-week stay at Marina Park Bad Nederrijn, and we all enjoyed the food every time. The staff are very friendly. Free parking is available in the gated parking lot across the street; just ask for an exit ticket when paying. Advance reservations can be helpful!

Beautiful location, nicely decorated restaurant. Good selection of, mainly, (delicious) pancakes. The price-quality ratio is also excellent in my opinion.

Disappointing experience at Pancake House De Waterspiegel I recently had dinner with a large group at Pancake House De Waterspiegel in Maurik. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The tables could not be put together, which really got in the way of the group feeling. In addition, the food was served per table, which meant that some of the group had almost finished eating before others even got anything. The service was unfriendly and not very hospitable at several times. An example of this was the situation with the bitterballen: two portions were served while only one had been ordered. When this was noticed, the staff wanted to take the dish from the table again and count whether everything was still in it so that they could possibly give it to another table. When it turned out that some had already been eaten, they eventually left it there — an uncomfortable situation for everyone at the table. In addition, the attitude of the staff was disappointing. When you try to point something out, like the fact that there was no soap in the ladies' toilet (something that has been going on for a while according to previous reviews), you get eye-rolling instead of action. The food itself was also unfortunately not up to par. The pancake was way too thick and heavy, the hamburger extremely greasy (which led to stomach complaints for some) and the chicken nuggets on the children's menu tasted more like fried food than chicken. All in all, this was a disappointing experience. The combination of poor service, clumsy organization and mediocre food means that I would not recommend this restaurant for groups, or actually not at all.

The pancakes were delicious, the service did their best and some were also good. Unfortunately there were also a few who actually did not even know what they brought to the table or how to put it down. For the rest it is a beautiful location and definitely worth it and you will definitely see me again.

Last night we had dinner here with the 4 of us, and we got the soup very quickly. Then we had to wait a bit longer for the pancakes. They were a bit too thick, but otherwise very tasty. Once we had finished the pancakes, not only were the plates taken away, but also all our glasses. We were also not asked if we wanted something to drink or perhaps a dessert, we had to ask for that ourselves. We had not even finished our coffee and suddenly, without asking, we got the bill, because "the kitchen was already closed." (By the way, it was not even 8 p.m. and there was no mention of what time the kitchen closed, that could not be found on the website either.) 2 of the 3 waitresses made it quite clear that we had to leave, they were not very friendly and looked quite arrogant. Then I wonder if they even want to work; adjust your behavior towards your guests or stay home.

Great social deal, good food, great pancakes

The pancakes are fine, the service is friendly, but it all takes a ridiculously long time. You order drinks when the pancakes arrive, and you receive the drinks afterwards. In addition, the staff is absolutely not proactive. In short: good training for the kitchen and service would be highly recommended, it will double your turnover 😉

We were 7 adults and 1 child (4 years old). The pancakes were served on time and were all very tasty. Then we went for an ice cream at the ice cream parlor in the park. This was also delicious. In short, definitely recommended if you want to eat delicious pancakes.

Had dinner yesterday with the 6 of us. Our pancakes were undercooked and tasted like onions instead of raisins... we reported it and then we received an arrogant reaction and looks from our waitress. We also received the wrong pancake, which we then had to wait a long time for. All in all, I definitely don't recommend eating here!!

Very bad service here, I left my coat hanging stupid, living 150 km away. Called immediately, jacket will be sent the next day. It was agreed that I would pay the costs. Called 3 times that week, many promises but no jacket. Called again, manager Coen was very busy, no, I had to pick up the coat myself or send a box, it was nice abroad. Went there on Sunday September 8. After more than 20 minutes of asking, someone came to take the order. Then waited another 25 minutes for the first drink. Received the food an hour after arrival. Anyway, it was busy and food needs preparation. Staff does their best but was understaffed. The worst part for me was that I had to pay €4.50 parking fee to be allowed to park on a lawn. This was a one-off for me.

Bad food!! We had to wait half an hour for drinks and 50 minutes from ordering for food. Food arrived cold. Chicken was bad, pancake very thick fries salty. Service runs fast and tries to keep everyone happy. Applause for that, but with too little effort it is difficult to keep up! A big 10 for the view, but for the rest, continue to the next restaurant.

I have never eaten so bad, poffertjes downright rancid, chicken satay ready-made from wholesale and fries and 2 frikandellen for 12.50 is of course completely ridiculous and more importantly not to eat so terribly salty. The waitress asked if everything was satisfactory and we indicated that this was not the case. But nothing has been done with it. At cafe Mauk it tastes 10 x better and is cheaper!!!

Smooth and friendly service in a beautiful environment. Lots of types of pancakes to choose from. The 'Spicey Italian' tasted good. We had a problem leaving the car park with the exit ticket. The problem was resolved quickly and easily by a friendly waiter. We will definitely come back!

The quality of the pancakes is unfortunately very poor, served lukewarm and not cooked at all. There is a manager missing who manages the process and the young employees. There are only young people at work who do their best in their own way, but lack total management and experience. When you complain about the quality of the food, the staff becomes unfriendly. Not to be repeated.

It's a shame as a tourist from Germany. If you are not female or partly local, you simply will not be served or no one will explain anything to you, not even in English. Waited 35 minutes for nothing and then left. No recommendation.

I have been here before for business lunch appointments or for a glass of wine in the past. But for about 5 months now there has been little good service, in the kitchen they just do whatever they want and just mess around, only young children aged 15 to 18 are serving, who probably don't know how to play at home yet. once able to do the laundry, they hang around all the time and the managers have only just been born, it is very unfortunate to see that such a disqualified restaurant is connected to the island of Maurik. Bunch of bastards.

Quality of the food is ok, what you would expect from a pancake restaurant. But the operation and service are far from satisfactory. Not listening to the customer's wishes. Don't ask if someone wants a drink or possibly a new drink. If you don't care about service it's fine, but this is the other extreme. Not recommended, there is work to be done here!

Eating delicious pancakes (and other dishes) in a casual atmosphere. Plenty of space also for the children. Nice staff and excellent service. Wonderful when you're at the campsite, but also great for a day of sailing or a bike ride. Open every day, also for coffee or lunch.

Today we had lunch with 14 people in this hiply decorated pancake restaurant. Atmospheric restaurant in a beautiful location! Nice welcome, friendly staff and attentive service. Surprising how quickly you are served, even with 13 people all getting a hot pancake at the same time. The card is versatile and very good in terms of price-quality. Highly recommended and a tent you will want to visit again!
