Few staff, service was friendly but very poor. Not once was a second round of drinks offered and contacting the staff was very difficult. Clearly a lesser experience than in recent years.

Had a delicious meal with the four of us. Birthday today, there were streamers hanging above the table and confetti on the table. Awesome. Sandwich beforehand.... Delicious pancake with bacon and nice and warm. For dessert I had the cookie jar. How funny. All 4 had a nice meal. Neat and good service.

Pancakes are nowhere near the quality of the past (previous owner) but now look like dry pizza bases. Dry tasteless snack, ordered a pancake with bacon, cheese, mushrooms, peppers and onions. These ingredients were very scarce, gratin cheese formed a hard layer over the pancake, you couldn't taste the bacon. Not to be repeated.

The host/chef Jelmer is a very good cook and talks about it with passion. Regularly takes the time (where possible) to provide personal explanations at the table. Any wines are well matched to the a la carte dish you choose. In short… a next level pancake ship with affordable prices.

A great place to eat with friends, there is a lot of choice in pancakes and they are very filling!! Friday evening: reserved. Wasn't necessary afterwards; we were the only table. Pancakes were raw on the inside. Unfortunately, I've never had such bad pancakes before. Hopefully we don't get sick. Never again for us.

Nice pancake restaurant in the center of Meppel. They have special pancake variations that all seemed very tasty to me. Still, I went for the traditional pancake (the liberte) with bacon, cheese, mushrooms and peppers. Definitely recommended and you will be full afterward. They have a normal lager on tap and also specialty beer in bottles. They also have various (non-pancake related) desserts. Such as a lady blanche, white chocolate ice cream and a dessert with blue Curaçao (without alcohol). We had made a reservation for 7:30 PM with a group, this was not necessary because we were the only ones. They are busiest between 5 and 7 p.m.

Recently had dinner with my grandmother. Because she has difficulty walking, we were helped with the lift. We had nice telephone contact in advance and the service and food were very good! Highly recommended!

I had a delicious meal here with my children and the soft drinks are not the standard orange and Seven-up, but much tastier. Even though we had not made a reservation, we were still able to get a spot. The service is good, the pancakes were delicious and the atmosphere on such an old ship is very cozy. Good morning, a great ship, a maritime atmosphere, so all in all a successful idea. Unfortunately, the food doesn't work. The pancakes were swimming in fat, the cheap cheese covered the scarce other ingredients in rough masses. Shame about the money! 16.50 euros per pancake is also quite steep for what ends up on the plate. I only recommend it to enjoy a drink there.

We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle in Giethoorn and ended up here. What a nice place. Super nice staff. Immediately received a water bowl for the dog. I had a pancake with salmon and delicious nuts. Recommended. Ordered ice cream with a fresh mango foam layer for dessert. Delicious.

A first sunny weekend, Meppel explored and came across this ship. What a nice place, what a wonderfully enthusiastic service and chef, what delicious pancakes, especially the Japanese with pulled chicken recommended. We sat outside and enjoyed the place and surroundings. Enjoy a delicious meal here, also very suitable for a party. And don't forget clean toilets. A really great location.

Pancakes are good, service too, drinks a bit too trendy for the ambiance for my personal taste. Desert for children is on the (too) large side, but that can be shared, tip from the waiter.

Ate here seven months ago. The service was mediocre at the time. We had a delicious meal which made up for a lot. In honor of my birthday, I had no doubts that I wanted to enjoy it one more time. What a huge disappointment!!!!! The quality of the pancakes is substandard, the service is still just as slow. The ladies were chatting with their backs to us. A cold breeze made the temperature unpleasant. When we made a comment about it, we were asked about it, but nothing was heard again. The pancakes are prepared in a carousel. Way too thick and not tasty. No progress and I have no desire to eat here again. The price has also been increased. We could have baked better at home, it would have been tastier and cheaper. The company was fun!!!

Delicious pancakes in an attractive and special location: in a real ship

Pancakes were tasty, but a bit thick for our personal taste. Dessert was super delicious! Still only 3 stars, because the service was really mediocre. Nothing to do, just fill up on drinks and meanwhile talk about how they have a cold. That was not very professional, and no one spoke to them or visibly provided guidance. There is a nice play kitchen for children. All in all, worth a try with some improvements.

Ate here on the recommendation of a trainee chef, even though I don't like pancakes. All 4 enjoyed the other items on the menu: fish & alternative chips, pork and veggie burgers. All good and prepared with love, full attention from waiting staff and the chef. Also delicious starters and desserts. Thank you!!

I can say that you can eat well here. It is a pancake ship, but you can also get something else here. The pancakes are not overly thick, but are well filled with the toppings you choose.

Went out for dinner with family. O.a. ordered a pancake with salami and other toppings. Salami was not as expected, thick slices and very greasy. After 1 bite I neatly indicated that I could not eat it and that the menu does not indicate that the salami is not standard. The staff also did not provide any explanation while ordering. Was offered to order something else. That turned out to be 2 children's pancakes because they "read faster". Then the pancake salami + children's pancakes were added to the bill. Staff did not come by to ask if we wanted something to drink, we had to call someone twice. Not had a similar experience before...hopefully it will be better next time, otherwise it will be the last time!

Service friendly and helpful. Definitely passionate about the cause. But I just miss what makes the pancake ship a pancake ship. Perhaps also because of the crowds at that time. Many people came to have a drink on the terrace. I now read the owner's response to another review that they want to do something about food waste. Very good! But you can also give that something extra by making your ship attractive to children. A balloon, a cheerful coloring page. Little things that make a big difference.

This was the last time I was there with my children. Very friendly staff, wide choice of what you want to order. And whatever you want on the pancakes. My children loved that they could take a look in the kitchen to see how the pancakes were baked and then they could make their own pancakes of their choice. That was great. The pancakes tasted delicious

A nice location and good food, but it took exactly an hour before we received our order, while only one other table was occupied. My wife could choose from a twelve-hour meal of meat, fish or vegetarian. She chose vegetarian and got a sandwich with ham. We just left it like that. No point in waiting another hour

Had lunch on the terrace, simple burger with fries 16 euros and fries with rendang, 15 euros. Both taste about the same because of the predominant mayonnaise and piccalilli. For a small menu with so few dishes, you would expect more variety. And I don't think a glass of wine for 5.25 is a pancake boat price.

Been eating there regularly for the past few years. Always enjoy going there. Price is good and staff is very friendly. Everything is as a pancake ship should be in my opinion. Now with the corona measures, they have everything well organized and you can even eat on the terrace. Very nice. Super nice view of the ship, water, bridge and old mill. See you soon

You can find delicious authentic pancakes in all kinds and flavors here. The beautifully renovated sailing ship is a unique location for a nice snack and drink. Highly recommended.

The ship looks neat and tidy, the reception was correct! We were there with 6 people and there was still 1 table occupied by 4 people. These got there before us. Drinks were quickly offered and pancakes ordered. Given the peace and quiet that prevailed with few customers, you would expect that you would receive your pancake after about 20 minutes. But we had to wait 50 minutes for it... with 4 children at the table, that is not pleasant. How long do you have to wait when it's busy...?! The pancakes didn't taste very good. One was colored slightly black and they were quite thick. We missed a nice bite and a vanilla flavor. When paying, it turns out that the drinks are super expensive... We were offered a bread basket after we had received the drinks, which also turned out to be on the receipt (€ 6.50). Despite the pleasant welcome and the well-maintained ship, this was a one-off visit for us.

I was here on Friday (Yesterday October 4th) at 4:30 p.m. and it was closed. On the door it said: Vacant from October 7th. We with 10 people today on October 5th. 4:20 p.m. back - "Closed" ?? Very disappointed ! ! Not recommendable.

Had a delicious pancake, it was worth it.

Always loved going to the pancake boat. Been there again today for a while. Compliments on the new entrance! Only less that the map has changed so drastically. Not much choice, except the standard pancakes. The choice of other meals (for those who prefer not to eat a pancake) is also quite limited. In the shakers on the table, not powdered sugar as expected, but regular sugar. The bottle with syrup is impossible to keep clean, when pouring the cap falls back, causing you to pour over the cap. Unfortunately we also had to wait quite a long time for the food, which is not so nice with 2 hungry children. All in all, a great restaurant, friendly service, but I don't think we will go back anytime soon. Shame!

Friendly staff, I got my 2nd pancake on the house which I thought was very sweet. I really enjoyed the homemade caramel sauce. Highly recommended!
