Friendly service and everyone is nice

Went for dinner at Papa Zatarra with a group of 5 friends. First thing we noticed was the friendly and professional waiting staff and bartender, which is becoming rare in Amsterdam restaurants and nightlife. The menu was diverse and original, the food tasted great and the cocktails were amazing as well. All in all a great experience, we will definitely come back again!

What a great place! I would recommend this to anybody. I was here a couple times, I watched the football games here, and what a fast service unheard of in Amsterdam. The chef chucking out delicious dish after delicious dish. Great place for larger groups, your friends , or just a date.

I really enjoy this cafe, but should warn, I ordered 1 mint tea and they charged me €7.90. I asked if they could refill the hot water, not for a whole new tea.

That's not dried sauce on the menu. That's mold. I noticed several menus were filthy. If the menus are that bad, how dirty is the kitchen? Edit in response: This menu was setup inside, on a high top table intended for service 10-15' from the bar and maybe 20' from the kitchen. Not outside. The other menus I noticed were all inside, as well. I cannot attest to the condition of outside menus.

Very nice, attentive service. Cheese board was well priced for the quantity and very tasty cheeses. The burger was exceptionally tasty, certainly not your average burger that you usually get. My girlfriend's veggie burger was just as delicious! We checked whether it was a vegetarian burger, because it was indistinguishable from my 'normal' burger. The atmosphere is also very good, but on this Tuesday evening it was very quiet.

Extremely delicious fresh products, chefs are successful, waiters are attentive, they help you create your order according to your wishes. I recommend it 👍🏻

Very nice service, relaxing music, very tasty food! I love a cheese board everywhere, but this one had really tasty cheese! The veggie burger tasted so good that I seriously doubted whether it was really veggie. Just checked and that turned out to be the case.

Expensive food, not filling either

It was time for another lunch out! And I like to come here for a tasty sandwich and a good coffee, this time with a good friend. He went for the porchetta sandwich and it was clear from the first bite that he had made the best choice! He especially appreciated the fact that the pork belly was thinly sliced. To avoid the delicious mackerel rillettes, I took the ciabatta with fried eggs and grilled cherry tomatoes this time. No regrets! By the way: the choice of music was also great. Let spring and summer come, then we can sit outside on the terrace. I'm already looking forward to that 🌞

Had a nice evening at this attractive restaurant in Amsterdam Oostenburgereiland. A bit hidden in this new part of Amsterdam, but definitely worth a detour. Had very tasty croquetas and delicious fried smelt beforehand. As a main course, veal cheek and cote de boeuf, both very tasty. In short, good food for a reasonable price

They have a great ambience, and the service was good. The menu was not very varied. The mussel sauce was delicious as a warm starter, but the burger was quite ordinary.

We had a really delicious meal with a large group. We gave the chef free rein and our table was filled with the most fantastic dishes to share. Highly recommended!

outcome 2 stars. Why? Because of the prices. I had a sandwich with mackerel, I must say the taste was very good, but you get 1 sourdough sandwich with some mackerel and red onion and some traces of Sriracha mayo around it. I can pay no less than 12.95 for that. Add a cup of coffee and a mini tip for the overly friendly service and you spend almost € 20 for a hot drink without alcohol and 1 "luxury" sandwich. I repeat: 1 slice of bread with some mackerel paste. The 2nd example; 1 croissant with some jam, 4.50. I repeat....1 croissant with a cheap product like jam people. The owners are really crazy there, so I won't go there anymore on principle. I think people will automatically price themselves out of the market and will be forced to close down in the long term with this nonsense. Next time just go to Anne & Max, a little further away. Croissant 3.75. You may not feel like it makes much of a difference, but it is still 20% cheaper. Apple pie at Papa Zatarra 6.95......at Anne & Max only...4.75. With the same kindness. and I can continue with the price differences, the catering industry is heavily overrun, so think before you enter somewhere, you can only spend your money once. So do this consciously and well.

We were looking for a place to eat, the waiter was very welcoming and gave an amazing service. The food was delicious, really worth the price, the French fries were amazing and the coffee was good too. Very very recommended. Also they got good music in Spanish.

Wow! What a place. I was a bit skeptical at first, because I had never actually heard of it. But the staff here are great! The staff helped us and always managed to grab us with good one-liners. By the way, they are really a star with cocktails! Definitely recommended for anyone in the area or especially if you want to discover other neighborhoods (I'm from the north myself). I will definitely come back here, in terms of food I would choose the delicious burgers 🍔. Be sure to opt for the funky za'atar fries as a side, they are certainly not to be missed.

Nice spot to have drink with a group of people. The owner did a fantastic job making it into a vibey spot. I only tried the burger and i was dissapointed, because it was a solid thick hockeypuck burger. There are so many examples of great burgers in the world so dont bring out this.

This place is a scam - do not make a reservation here. We booked a table online for breakfast, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to leave Amsterdam earlier and couldn't have breakfast as planned. There was no way to cancel the reservation online as it was 5 hours before the reservation, and they do not provide a phone number to contact them. As a result, they charged us €65 for nothing. Edit: The booking was done via your Google maps / my business listing and the charge is related to your business (see screenshot). I will reach out and keep this post updated.

Yesterday I was at Papa Zatarra with three friends. The coffee and apple pie tasted delicious. When we wanted to have lunch, the waitress was attentive enough to ask if we would like a higher table. Please. Lunch was also tasty. In short, worth a visit!

5 stars because I chose this restaurant for a burger and this burger was really tasty!! The service is friendly and attentive. The selection of beers is excellent, the menu is rather small, but has something for different tastes. The ambience is characterized by an old industrial district that is undergoing change. It will be exciting to visit the area again in a few years.

We recently had a delicious meal again, the service was as always very cheerful and helpful. We sat in the sun on the terrace. Good selection of beers on tap!

Nice place but the waiter was just super odd. He kept asking which language to speak to us and kept forgetting things. The food was good and came quite fast. The Bellini wasn’t great tbh for the price. The peach one only tasted like lemon. Also other little things like you can’t order specific things when it gets busy but they’re available as part of a more expensive menu seemed just weird. Overall I would probably give this place a chance again but this time i was not convinced.

I love this place! You can go there to enjoy a coffee, or have a nice and cozy dinner. Love the ambience. The service is really good. I feel really welcome always there. The entrecôte is delicious!

Upon entering, the restaurant was empty and the tables were not set. We then had doubts, but in the end the meal was great!

We stayed in the area and ended up loving this place so much we made it our daily starting and ending point. The food is incredible (warning the portions are huge), the drinks are delicious and the staff is where this place shines. We felt like family by the end of the week. An absolute must!

Tasty coffee & always great service!

My first visit at Papa Zatarra was an absolute dream. Experiencing the most delicious decaf coffee whilst soaking in the warm atmosphere made me feel very much at home. Even though the place is new, the thoughtfully designed space and the soft sound of the music gave me the sense that I had stumbled upon a local hidden gem. The welcoming team and their hospitable service were just the cherry on top for my perfect morning ritual. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Legitimately the best pancakes we have ever had! I’d recommend those pancakes to anyone and everyone. The fries were also top tier. The seasoned mayo that went with it was amazing. Music was great. Atmosphere was chill. If you’re in the area at all would, I highly encourage coming here.

When moving to a new city, the best you'd expect to be able to say about the restaurant that just so happens to be the closest to your new apartment is that it's decent enough to visit if there's nothing better to do. Well, let's just say our expectations were greatly surpassed this time around. The cocktails and food here at Papa Zatarra were absolutely outstanding, both my burger and my girlfriend's chicken were delicious and the fries are the best I'veever had! And they have about 10 beers on tap! We will definitely be back and now fully understand the raving reviews this place got!

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Papa Zatarra yesterday. The Croque quattro formaggi and the chicken burger are highly recommended! Nowadays, most places give you so little ginger in your ginger tea that you just drink water. That was absolutely not the case here either.

Had dinner on Wednesday evening. Good committed service. The roasted cauliflower is highly recommended - I would have liked a large portion of that! Too bad it's not very well known yet. It is a large place and with many empty tables it is a little less cozy. Well worth a visit!
