Very good pastry. Very friendly staff.

I had an espresso macchiato this afternoon. It was lukewarm, and we received a wrapped cookie, which was also dry. At a so-called patisserie, we'd expect a fresh cookie or something similar. The service was also subpar, unfriendly, and the wrapped cookies were practically thrown down. No way, they won't be seeing us again.

Delicious pies. We can't leave without taking some home. They also sell bread, etc. The lunchroom is around the corner.

Dear Patisserie Royale, When we tried to pay with our Visa card today, as usual, you gave us the choice: pay €1 extra or pay cash. We looked into this, and what you're doing appears to be illegal. You're probably aware of this. You are, however, permitted to refuse payment with a Visa card. May we suggest you do the same? By the way, your cakes are delicious, and so is the coffee.

The older blonde woman was very rude and impatient with a customer who had several questions before making a choice. This clearly made the customer uncomfortable. She let the other customers know she found him "annoying."

Worst service ever! If you want average pastries, more expensive to what you can get cheaper at local supermarkets (with the same taste and texture) then go for it. But the worst is the service, there is definitely a thing there with people that are not Dutch. After the purchase, the lady that was working there yelled that we have no permission to stay at the tables inside, even though it was cold outside and we had all the rights as customers to stay inside. Her excuse was that if we want to stay we have to pay more. Nonsense. Just disgusting!

Oh, how delicious! Don't pass by, go inside and have a slice of pie, or take a pie home.

Wow, what can I say, it was very good.

The apple pie has a strong cinnamon flavor, the apricots are slightly sour, the pie crust is on the soft side, the pistachio cake is sweet with a slight almond aroma, and the cappuccino has very thick milk foam!

You can't visit Maastricht without having a pie. A lovely spot for coffee and pie. Generous slices per person (pie for one person). I ordered a plum pie and a rice pie. Both were excellent. Friendly service. Top-notch quality.

We'd researched where to find the best pie, and Patisserie Royale was the place to be. We had high hopes, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. The pie couldn't be cut, so my husband got a mini pie, but it didn't taste like real Limburg pie. I had a small seasonal pastry, which was good, but at €6.65, it's fair to say it's worth it. We spent €21, which was quite expensive. We've had cappuccinos with Limburg pies before, and they were much better and not nearly as expensive. Too bad.

Generally delicious pies and cakes, but if something isn't baked right, it's our taste that's to blame, not their acknowledgment of their mistake. What a shame.

Today I bought a small rice pie and a gooseberry with foam to take home after a weekend in Maastricht. They were truly Sublime of real class. Super fresh. Highly recommended. I have often bought from bakeries in Limburg, but these are number 1. And super friendly help.

Not only does governing involve foresight, but also a day out to Maastricht. It is 'Magical Maastricht', but not everything falls under that. We decided in advance to start with a cup of coffee and some tasty treats at Patisserie Royale, which is open all year round. Well: we certainly don't regret that. There is an extensive choice of tasty cakes and of course pies available. The sight of the gooseberry pie immediately makes our mouths water. So we order it, not in the shape of the 'usual' pie slice, but as a round mini pie. Delicious! In the meantime, we are also enjoying the rest of the shoppers who find a moment of rest here. Because: before that, a choice must first be made. It is so big here that it is not easy for many. But: when the shop assistant brings the goodies, we only see satisfied faces. We have that too, partly thanks to the friendly and very attentive staff. Patisserie Royale is definitely recommended for those visiting the city on the Maas.

Delicious pies! Just not recommended to sit. The door was not allowed to close, and they sat uncomfortably eating in the cold. Would definitely change that...shame!

Small and not particularly welcoming environment (for example, there was no background music). Nice and friendly staff, but the food experience was disappointing. The rice vlaai was quite good, but the worstenbroodje was really poor quality: despite having been reheated twice, the inside meat was still cold, as if it had been defrosted in the morning. The prices are also not in line with the experience (and a €1 increase on the total price of a vlaai in the space of 12 months sounds a lot like speculation on customers).

A place in Wyck in Maastricht where I regularly go for a nice cup of coffee with cake or a savory cake. The staff is always friendly but also helpful in making choices. I can warmly recommend this cozy patisserie to anyone who visits or lives in our city.

We like the white chocolate-pistachio pastries. The pistachio pastry I bought this week tasted different and the outside was like plastic, in taste and consistency. I couldn't cut it off with a fork. The recipe for the delicious lemon pie that was available until a few years ago has also been changed and I no longer buy it. Shame!

Picked up two too good to go packages last Friday. One for myself and the other for my mother. How sad what I got for the actual amount: one small almond stick that was very dry and one small bag of chocolate wreaths. Also unfriendly staff. Very sorry!

Customer unfriendly staff. Whining about half a pie, and then fussing again about a plastic bag. The staff did not ask, so I paid for the pie and then asked for a bag myself. Couldn't pay by card, had to pay in cash. Simply ridiculous and customer unfriendly how they acted and responded.

If you are in Limburg you have to try a pie! I am only familiar with multi vlaai (I come from the Randstad) and according to Limburgers that should not be called vlaai. I thought it was much tastier than what I was used to. I had hoped for a slice, but you get a small one-person pie, so I thought that's fine, I'll take two. I shouldn't have done that, I thought they were really powerful and heavy, but above all it was wonderful to just do some extra cycling at the gym.

The woman working there on Saturday 14 December was very rude. When I said I wanted to wait for a place to sit she said in a very arrogant way that they "Only served until 16:00 hrs" it was only 15:00 hrs. 😕 We wanted to buy something, but her replies were so out of touch like she was annoyed or something so the group decided that it was not worth it to wait for a table to stay in such unfriendly environment.

The place looks nice, but that’s about it. The pistachio sweet didn’t taste like pistachio at all, and the salted caramel one was just okay—on the lower side, to be honest. The staff also didn’t seem interested or particularly friendly. Additionally, there’s no description or price displayed for any of the sweets, so you have no idea what you’re actually getting. Unfortunately, I’ll likely never be back.

Their rice vlaai is amazing! Definitely something to come back for. They offer big pies (can be sliced in half), medium pies and small single portion pies. The flavours are consistent through and through, so you won’t be disappointed!

I stopped by to try the famous Vlaai. There are many types of Vlaai, and he explained them carefully. It was very delicious and it was nice to have a break.

Volgens Google vind je hier de lekkerste vlaai van Maastricht en ik kan dat alleen maar bevestigen. Bij Patisserie Royale zijn de vlaaien echt verrukkelijk! Deze kleine, nette banketbakkerij is een fijne plek om even te gaan zitten en te genieten van je gekozen vlaai of een ander heerlijk gebakje. De appel room vlaai kan ik echt aanraden! Naast de heerlijke vlaai serveert Patisserie Royale ook lekkere koffie, wat de ervaring compleet maakt. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam, maar ook duidelijk en direct en daar is ook niets mis mee. Kortom, voor de beste vlaai in Maastricht en een ontspannen sfeer is Patisserie Royale een echte aanrader. Ik kom hier zeker nog eens terug voor een zoete traktatie!

Last Thursday we walked into this tent at 4:50 PM. The old employee was just busy serving two people in the store and lunchroom. We immediately received the message that the lunchroom was closed. When we asked if we could get a piece of pie with a drink, we were told again that the lunchroom is closed at 5 p.m. The employee was anything but customer-friendly and hospitable. What a nice business card for a pastry shop/lunchroom if you have such employees. Ultimately we ended up at Paulissen and that was everything that this store (otherwise I can't name it after the antisocial behavior of the employee) is not!! Definitely go there and ignore this shop when you come off the Servaas bridge.

Bought a cherry pie here this morning to take away. It was packed extra well, including holes in the box because it was still warm. Just tasted, excellent. Never had such a delicious pie before! A big 10+

The only downside I think is that the service behind the counter does not take any hygiene measures. They sit with their hands in their hair, face and cash and then they grab the pastry again with their bare hands.

Nice tasty vlaai, we had 2 minis (personal size): rice vlaai and apricot vlaai. I love the rice one, soft crust, very classic, not overly seeet.. the apricot is a bit too sour for my taste but for sure it depends on your liking. The ladies helped us efficiently and let us sit there despite of it was 15mins before their closing time.

Leckerer Kuchen, viele Törtchen im Angebot. Leider etwas teuer (Kirschtorte mit ca. 20 cm Durchmesser (4 Portionen) für 26,25 Euro ist etwas happig. Ausserdem wurde 1 Euro für den Einsatz der Kreditkarte eingezogen, ohne vorher darauf hinzuweisen.

Fantastic pastry shop between the center and station. Friendly service, tasty pie and the savory quiche was also worth it. The only downside is that making choices is essential, based on the smell and the appearance you want to empty the entire store.

After a day in Maastricht we always take pie with us to take home.

Once of the best apple pies I’ve ever had. Was the last slice and smelled the aroma which got us in the door.

Purposefully drove here for Vlaai pies with cherries and gooseberries and Rijstevlaai. Pies are delicious! Interesting tea serving - you choose your own tea from 6 types. Friendly multilingual service, everything was explained and advised. They took it with them and on the spot. The packaging is elegant as a gift. The prices are not small, but acceptable. I recommend it to all connoisseurs of local specialties and sweets.

Took 2 pies home today. An apple crumb and a rice pie. Really so tasty. Service from the ladies is also top notch. We would like to come back to Maastricht, especially to Patisserie Royale

Kocht vandaag gebak (Miserable taart) welke onevenredig veel alcohol (Cointreau) bleek te bevatten. De eerste indruk was zelfs dat de taart bedorven was, maar wss was er teveel cointreau gedoseerd. Dit was daarnaast niet aangeduid nog vermeld bij de koop. . Bij navraag werd dit gebagatelliseerd als een vleugje en afgewimpeld als de verantwoordelijkheid van de klant om dit te checken.Houding van de medewerkester was op zijn zachtst gezegd onfatsoenlijk en kortaf

Bij aankomst in Maastricht hier koffie met Limburgse vlaai genuttigd. Je moet de dag immers goed beginnen. Dat is hier zeker gelukt. Goede thee en koffie met overheerlijke vlaai. Ondanks de drukte netjes en snel geholpen. Helaas is er slechts zit plek voor enkele gasten, maar er is niet meer ruimte.

Found this bakery years ago pre Covid & loved it. Waited 4 years to get back and it was the first place I thought of and went to when I arrived back in town. The staff are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. Cakes and Quiches are absolutely top quality. Especially the Quiche Lorraine and their Cherry Pie! I can't wait to get back again. Perfection on a plate - literally!
