Pavilion De Posbank in Wijk 01 Rheden

After a long walk during which we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, we finished off nicely at Paviljoen de Postbank. The apple pie was well worth it! Ordering and paying via the QR code is quick and easy. However, there were still dirty plates, etc., from previous guests on many tables. Mind you, it was quite busy due to the beautiful weather, so that may have played a role. In any case, we would love to come back again!

Very beautiful and nice place. Especially with the view, it's certainly no hardship to stop by after a nice walk. Super friendly staff and the food tasted very good!

Great restaurant located in beautiful surroundings. Ordering via the QR code is quick and easy. Good coffee and the club sandwich was very tasty. More than enough parking, also for motorcycles. On weekdays, you can take a lovely ride by motorcycle (or car) from Rozendaal via the pavilion to De Steeg.

On a warm Monday outside of the summer holidays, the waitresses couldn't handle the workload. We were told to order using the QR code, but ordering two different iced coffees wasn't possible. With great difficulty, we managed to speak to a waitress who took our order. There was a nice photo of the iced coffee, but this turned out to be an indication. The plain coffee was 6 euros, whipped cream 1 euro extra, flavoring another 1 euro, and upon inquiry, the sprinkles weren't there or had never been there. The photo was just for the idea... It was so busy that people came to sit at our table. They asked if the orange juice was fresh. We had a good laugh about the answer: it is freshly squeezed and then bottled, after which they deliver it here... So, no. The waitresses did their best, but the restaurant was understaffed despite the predicted beautiful weather. There is no atmosphere to be found on the terrace.

We were ignored by the staff for 20 minutes; even after asking, we weren't served. We weren't asked if we wanted drinks or food, so we unfortunately left hungry. The national park itself is beautiful and highly recommended.

The food is fine. The coffee comes from a hotel machine. You pay for the location. It is just a shame that they opted for metal chairs on tiles, so you constantly hear the scraping of metal on stone. Not exactly the relaxed atmosphere of the Veluwe.

It was simply a nightmare! You think you can just have a nice drink and a bite to eat. We arrive there, but you're supposed to use a QR code; it doesn't work! That can happen, no problem, someone was supposed to come to the table to take the order... 45 minutes later, still no one seen. Eventually, we went to get someone; he immediately took our order, then came back with the news that the kitchen was closed! How is that even possible?! We left again, and when we got outside, orders were still being taken there. That was the first and also the last time we ever went there!

Food is good but drinks, especially coffee is not amazing.

Saying no To customers ordering food because you dont have water and kitchen is closed but serving food to others , and seeing kitchen staff making food for themselves is not my definition of hospitality having limited drink options because you dont have water (postmix) not helping Also this place needs sufficient staff and coordination

In case you are traveling with a 50/62 person bus. It is not accessible according to the rules. Something to communicate to the group or company making a reservation.

It's a shame that, due to circumstances, nothing could be used inside. But in the end, we found a great spot in the shade outside as well. Friendly staff. Delicious pastries!

Beautiful walk, terrible hospitality. On (what seemed like) the busiest day of the year, two overworked employees were braving the crowds in a sort of construction trailer. Iced coffee machine broken, regular milk unavailable, and after waiting 15 minutes I got 2 coffees anyway: €8.40! For vending machine coffee with no seating, I found this quite ambitious. The staff did their best, but the place doesn't seem to be run very well. The walk? Fantastic, though! Next time, bring a thermos of coffee! Highly recommended for everyone.

Nice place with a beautiful location and relaxing surroundings. We tried the Energy Power drink, but unfortunately I didn’t really like the taste. The chocolate cake, on the other hand, was good and enjoyable. The prices are a little on the expensive side, although that’s understandable considering the location. Overall, a nice spot to sit and enjoy the view, but the drink wasn’t for me.

It is a lovely place to spend time, the staff is friendly, and the food is neatly presented and tasty. We would gladly return.

The food was fine. The service was quick. I chose the lunch special. It was tasty, perhaps a bit standard, but perfectly fine.

It would be helpful if the staff indicated beforehand that there is no more food, instead of waiting for an hour because no one has come to your table yet… very disappointing.

We have sat on the terrace here on several occasions. Unfortunately, we experienced a slight disappointment each time. The most recent occasion was on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Even then, we were once again not noticed by the wait staff. This was the last time we visited here.

Lovely spot on the Posbank! Nice terrace! Delicious salads, sandwiches, etc., the choice is huge! We certainly enjoyed our delicious grilled vegetable salad.

We sat inside because there was no room on the terrace, which is fine. But no one came to our table to clear the previous guests' table or take our order, not even when the waitress did take our order at a nearby table. Eventually, it took a very long time before we received our food and drinks, and I had to ask if she would take away the previous guests' old plates (!). She did not clean the table. The person who brought the drinks didn't do it of her own accord either, even though the table was clearly dirty. Why do I have to ask for this? It is remarkable that this isn't explained in their training. And if you can't handle the number of guests due to the crowds, then put out fewer tables. The food and drinks were okay, but definitely overpriced.

I settled down on this terrace on a very hot day during the summer holidays. I believe a sort of takeaway food/drinks point on the premises was closed. Would they have had ice cream here otherwise? Ordered sparkling ice tea on the terrace and ice cream. Unfortunately, lemon and mango were out of stock. So I ordered strawberry instead. After some time, the ice tea arrived. A small glass by ice tea standards; without ice and no lemon wedge. That isn't mandatory, of course, but oh so delicious. Unfortunately, the drink wasn't very cold and lacked fizz. I found that very disappointing and not worth the 3.85. Having long since finished my drink, the ice cream (1 scoop?) still hadn't arrived. This despite the staff coming by frequently with drinks, food, etc. In the end, I just cancelled the ice cream and continued my walk. I thought it was impressive how the staff kept walking back and forth and serving in the heat, but otherwise I do sometimes look back with nostalgia to the days when the cheerful thatched restaurant was still here, with lots of chairs on the gravel outside, and the food and drink were still a real treat.

After the old restaurant burned down a long time ago, this restaurant has to make do. It is super modern, but consequently soulless, cold, and unwelcoming. Most people who come here have a quick drink and are gone again. The opening hours are also so weird; in short, not my favorite.

Only love for Paviljoen De Postbank! The iced coffee is highly recommended.

Absolutely worthless place. After an error in their system with the order, the wait staff refused to take back the wrong drink, even though I had ordered it correctly. After much insistence, they finally went to check, and it turned out to be their mistake indeed. Very poor and unfriendly service and staff. Not recommended. The food is also way too expensive for what you get.

As you enter the restaurant, a huge smell of deep-fried food hits you. You would expect a nice view in such a location, but actually you can't see anything at all because the building isn't situated on the highest point. The terrace is exceptionally soulless, with concrete paving stones, and overlooks a parking lot. The menu is limited and there is no beer on tap, only bottled. The service is friendly, though. If you pass by and are thirsty, you can get a drink here, but for the atmosphere, you'd be better off going somewhere else.

A perfect starting point for a beautiful walk across the Postbank. A very beautiful building, integrated into nature in a special way. Good for a cup of coffee, lunch, or something else.

After waiting a considerable time (on a normal weekday) and not being served, we left. The ambiance was very basic, with no decorations, and the table was unkempt. We can't comment on the food.

It started with the Chai Latte; it tastes like lukewarm milk with a hint of cinnamon. When I sent it back for this reason and asked for a ginger tea, they initially wanted to put both on the bill! While we waited for the food, my partner ripped his pants on a piece of sharp metal under the table. The food consisted of reheated wholesale food... super salty tomato soup (as part of the kids' menu!), a ready-made toastie made with sugar-sweetened white bread and tasteless cheese. A meal salad served without bread, so it cannot pass for a proper meal. In short, wasted money. The location is beautiful, but the food and drinks really don't match.

Beautiful location and surroundings, surrounded by nature, where you could truly relax. It's a shame they built a building that looks more like a German bunker than a crematorium.

We were here on a quite busy Saturday lunch around 2pm. The online ordering system is very clear and easy to use. The drinks were on the table in no time but the food took a little longer. The portions were also not as large as expected for the price. The croque monsieur was just a simple 2 slice toastie. The quality was good but the size was not sufficient.

The view is great but the coffee and food is mediocre, straight out of the fridge and overpriced. But you pay for the location 🌄

I was walking through the Posbank with an acquaintance, and we fancied a cup of coffee. Upon entering, there was a sign suggesting a cappuccino with apple pie and whipped cream for €5. I told the clerk, "Give me the special offer." She said, "Special offer?" I said, "Please cappuccino with a slice of apple pie." She replied, "You're reading that wrong; it's cappuccino with apple pie syrup and whipped cream." We told her we found that very unclear, to which she replied she'd heard it before. We said, "Change it then! Plenty of people must have fallen for it!" We didn't, and ordered a cappuccino. Expensive milk for €4.10, and the coffee flavor was nowhere to be found. The following week, I was cycling past, and what did I see upon entering? The sign, unchanged! This smelled a bit like a scam.

Don't go there if you want anything other than a soda or a tea. We had sweet potato fries which were just burned. The food is underwhelming; the acoustics are off: it feels cramped and loud even though it wasn't that packed.

Great location, cool building, and friendly staff! It's way too expensive for the quality you get, though. For €14.75, I got a mediocre flat white (which came straight from one of those fully automated machines), a standard wholesale cheesecake (which tasted fine, though), and a small glass of Pepsi-Cola.

A complaint at the front desk wasn't handled well, but submitting a complaint through a review provided a solution. It's a comfortable place, and the location is what you come for. I go several times a month. The food tastes great. The prices are a bit steep, though.

A location with a beautiful view of the Posbank. I ordered a chai latte, which arrived quickly. A full glass with a brown layer at the bottom and only foam/milk remaining. Less than two minutes later, all the white had completely disappeared, and the glass was only half full. The latte also turned out to be still warm after taking one sip. When I asked for a new one, I received the same glass back, microwaved. The taste was good, though. And all for a pricey €4.25! Brown bread with two spicy cheese croquettes and a small, not-so-fresh garnish was delicious. But also very expensive. Let's just say you pay for the view.

You can enjoy a delicious meal here or just a drink and a piece of cake when you return from or start a fantastic walk!

A restaurant in the middle of a nature reserve, with a beautiful location and views of the dunes and rolling hills. It was nice to sit together for a break. I had to order and pay via an app, which I found a bit awkward. I understand it's the easiest option for them, but I don't want to be on my phone. I ordered tea and pastries and paid via the app. I was later told that the pastries I wanted were out of stock. Such a shame, as there were plenty of other options, but I didn't want them. We only had tea. The woman who helped us was friendly. I also got my money back immediately.

Beautiful pavilion in a beautiful location👌. We were sitting at the regulars' table and noticed that ordering and paying was confusing. You couldn't order from some of the waitstaff. You had to ask a colleague. It sometimes took a while to reach them. So we just paid immediately upon receiving our order.

A great place to stop during a bike ride. As soon as you step inside, you're immediately greeted by the smell of frying. The kitchen is on the ground floor and is semi-open, allowing the smell of fries to permeate the entire space. Next to the kitchen and restrooms on the ground floor is a cycling inner tube dispenser—great service! We ordered a Chai Latte and a Latte Machiato, and both had a lot of milk and very little chai or coffee, but they were nice and warm with a delicious Sinterklaas speculaas biscuit.

The Posbank Pavilion is situated in the hilly forest and heathland that is part of the Veluwezoom National Park in the municipality of Rheden. At the viewing point near the pavilion, there is a monument in the form of a stone bench commemorating Mr. Pos's 25th anniversary with the ANWB (Royal Dutch Touring Club), from which the pavilion's name derives. This beautiful part of the Netherlands boasts an extensive network of hiking and cycling routes, trails, mountain bike paths, and bridle paths. There is ample free parking and clean restrooms. Friendly service and a delicious lunch at a reasonable price.

Yesterday I ate two sandwiches (brown) with croquettes, and the price-quality ratio is absolutely terrible. Two simple brown sandwiches and two simple croquettes (not even one from Dobbe or Kwekkeboom), a little salad, and far too little mustard. It's not even a quality croquette or a homemade one, and then I pay almost 13 euros for it? I really don't mind paying too much for something, which seems to be standard these days, but the quality should be reasonable. I think I bought it for barely €2.00, and even then I'm probably still overpaying.

Our second stop during the walk was at Paviljoen de Posbank, and it was wonderful here too. The pavilion is situated in one of the most beautiful spots in the Veluwezoom region, on a hilltop with stunning views over the heathland and rolling countryside. The location alone makes it worth a visit! It's a cozy and modern venue with a spacious terrace where you can enjoy a snack or drink either indoors or outdoors. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting—perfect for unwinding after a brisk walk. The menu is extensive and varied, with a choice of both savory dishes and something delicious to go with coffee. Everything is well-prepared, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Thanks to the magnificent panorama and the pleasant ambiance, this is truly a place where you'll want to linger.

We've been eating and drinking here regularly over the past few years, but the service has been terrible lately. When it's busy, you have to ask at the bar to take your order, only to be promised someone will be there, but you can still wait a long time. Today, however, took the cake. We arrived an hour before closing time, which is a bit late, but you'd think it shouldn't be a problem to get something to eat and drink. First, there were QR codes on the table that didn't work (after asking, it was apparently due to the crowd). We asked two staff members (one of whom was also serving food) if we could order, but that wasn't possible and they had to send "another colleague." When that staff member finally arrived (15 minutes later, 45 minutes before closing time), we were simply told that the kitchen was closed and that we could only order drinks or pastries. Surely the other staff could have told us the same thing. Why isn't this written anywhere on a sign, and why do they even leave QR order codes and menus (with dishes) on the tables? We left disappointed, and they won't be seeing us again anytime soon.

Beautiful surroundings and facilities, impressive scenery, and views over the rolling landscape. From the lookout point, you can truly enjoy the panoramic views, and it's very bike-friendly, with even tools and a bike pump available. See photo. Cell phone reception is very poor, so QR ordering via KPN wasn't possible in our case, nor was mobile payment. Good to know. Ordering options for gluten-free food are limited, and this was prone to errors in our case.

I've had lunch there several times now during a beautiful walk, and each time, I've had delicious, fresh sandwiches and tasty drinks, including smoothies. The waitresses are very friendly. It's a great restaurant.

We stopped in after a long walk. It was a pleasure to try the delicious honey cake and coffee. The pastries are simply wonderful! Thank you for the fast and friendly service. We'll definitely be back.

A good place to stop on your walks in valuwe. However some what understaffed and food not really good. Had dirty chai and cheese cake and both seem bit off . Took them a long time to serve . Not worth the money at all.

This is so bad it's practically slapstick. It starts with the outdoor bar, which is unmanned half the time. Then you go inside, but it turns out you're not allowed to order anything at the bar. You go outside to the terrace, and there's only service in the closest part of the place. Then, in the serviced area, you essentially have to order with a QR code, which is quite tricky because there's almost no mobile phone reception in this area. I understand the staff shortage, but I think the limited staff could be deployed much more efficiently (by simply converting it to a self-service concept, for example; I think that would make everyone happier: just order at the bar and pick it up when the pager goes off, something like that. Anything is better than this chaos and just hoping you're allowed/able to order). They're certainly sitting on a goldmine here on the weekends, but at the same time, I don't think they're particularly interested in making money.

Just had coffee in an atmospheric and beautiful location.

Just landed for lunch. It was fine. As it got busier, the stress increased a bit, but the staff remained friendly.

Today we asked for a table to be cleaned, but the response was first a simple "no" and then "I'll ask my colleague." That came across as very rude and unprofessional. As a guest, you expect a table to be cleaned without any discussion. It's a shame, as this didn't leave a good impression of the service. We reported this to another colleague, but I don't know to what extent it was reported. Nice location, but we won't be returning for another visit.

5km in this beautiful area is different from 5km which is just flat, very beautiful but more difficult to walk, a little longer than the time indicated on the signs

It's a shame that the organizers of Happen en Stap (Happen and Walking) indicated that gluten-free, dairy-free, and no tomatoes were no problem, and then basically nothing was possible. In the end, we still got a delicious grilled vegetable salad.

It was busy that day, but that wasn't a problem. We sat at a table outside. The service was excellent, and the fried snack was delicious.

It takes very long time to order and get the food. We waited 1 hour to get the food finally served.
