The bad: Jug of beer (~23 euros) only has 6 ‘canãs’ so it’s better to just get the small ‘canãs’ which were (~3.25 euros). Only 1 type of beer. Did not have muscles or tequila when we went. Waiter was eating and chef was scrolling on phone. Service was slow. The good: Beer is still relatively affordable (to other restaurants). The food was actually good. Steak and bread with tomato was good. Service and menu variety is mid. Music was nice. Theres potential here.

Lovely spot - great steak sandwich. The only miss during our night were the patatas brava - the sauce was not quite right. Everything else was delish!

Bar Pepito is highly recommended if you're looking for great tapas in Amsterdam. The food was delicious, with authentic flavors and generous portions perfect for sharing. The atmosphere is also pleasant and welcoming. Special mention goes to Alejandra and Jean, who were very attentive and friendly throughout the meal, making the experience even better. Definitely a place I would return to.

We made a reservation for 6 people for a special occasion (a birthday), and when we arrived, they only had a table for 4. On top of that, it was REALLY loud inside, almost impossible to talk. Never going back.

Very authentic and delicious Spanish tapas. The restaurant is small and when it gets crowded can become a bit uncomfortable. However the taste of the food compensates for it.

Just ate here. The food was tasty. Nothing to complain about. However, it is quite expensive for the dishes you get. For example, 5 prawns for 14 euros. And 4 meatballs for €13.50. Nice for a one-time visit, but not worth repeating.

We make a reservation 10 days in advance for table for 2. Big surprise when the hostess says only has a min bar space for sitting us. So I don’t see the point of making a reservation. The space at the minibar was ridiculous to have a proper dinner and was two tables free, but we couldn’t have it even having a reserve for more than 10 days.Disappointing and ridiculous.

We had a fantastic meal. We suggested a surprise menu with a bit of everything. The waitress was very accommodating and served delicious tapas. You feel good as soon as you come in! Warming welcome and easy peasy service! Good experience for the price. About the cuisine, everything was ok and typically spanish, as expected! The chef could add a bit of love to dishes though : not much ham in the jamon croquettas, not-that-fresh tortilla de patatas… It’s not enough to put a lot of salt everywhere…

I'm really sad to write this because I absolutely loved Pepito from the start—it was my go-to spot for great food, wine, and bringing friends. But after not visiting for six months, I came back and the food just wasn’t the same - bland, wrong seasoning, poor taste, produce tastes old. I truly hope you bring the quality back (as with the previous chef). I miss it, but without a change I won't be back.

Food tastes good but the portions are not for sharing, they pretend. Wouldn't be a problem right away, only the price is for sharing. Are also mostly simple dishes served in bowls in the size where the extras normally go. Beers also small and all together it seems like you are eating in a miniature restaurant.

We were served by Joep who was very attentive, came to us before we had to ask, and was checking in if food was okay, topping up water, the food was good, the atmosphere great in the evening, but most of all the service from Joep made the night for us!

Not good food at all and on top of it micro portions for not small prices. 12 eur for this old tortilla de patatas that was just one small piece. Super rude to charge that much for half egg and half potato and on top of it was not fresh! Save your money and go somewhere else.

I’m Spanish therefore I tend to avoid Spanish restaurants as it’s difficult to compare fair. Today the food was solid, every dish was in point! I’m happy I took the risk and I’ll be back to try the rest of the menu.

Very nice atmosphere but quite mediocre food. Padron peppers and Manchego cheese was good, but all the other tapas we had- patatas bravas, pulpo, pan con tomate- lacked flavor.

Apart from the fact that I think 100 euros for 5 tapas and 6 gnome beers is a lot of money. And not one of those dishes is spectacularly tasty. If you order bread with aioli (6 euros I believe), you will receive 1 baked baguette, which gives you 3 mini pieces of bread per person with a full container of sauce. What really bothers me is that this is the second time I came here. Like two at half past six and you are not allowed to sit at a table for two people, but have to sit at the bar or next to each other, along the wall. Really unpleasant, even though they have no reservations, they want to keep those tables free so that they can possibly make a three of them, or turn two twos into a four. When we left, the two of us were still free, by the way.... afterword: I read in another review: ridiculous, the beers cost 7.50. I thought that must be special beer, but no. I check my own bill and the small gnome beers, I think 150 ml, are 3.25. But the slightly larger size. just a little more than a vase, but certainly not half a liter or 400 ml, costing 7.50 each. Ridiculously expensive. Even for Amsterdam. And then you can't even get them filled to the brim. (I don't mean in terms of foam, but just the top centimeter no beer)

If there are two of you, it is super fun to sit at the bar and if you think the beers are too expensive: order a jug of sangria!! 😜 Finally, order the sirloin steak, which is not normally tasty 🤤

Dont know what the hype is about. The vibe is nice. But the food is mediocre. Churros were uneatable, sardines were old. Only good thing was the artichokes.

What a great find! Corner restaurant on a fairly quiet street close to the canal ring. Great vegetarian options, good wine collection. The cheesecake (made with manchego) is incredible. Would highly recommend!

One of the busiest tapas restaurants in Amsterdam! With a walk-in only concept, it's great that they manage to get full tables every evening, often with a line out the door! Because of the good stories I decided to take a look and had a great dinner. Would definitely recommend this over the average tapas places, although it is not a 'wow' effect that I somewhat expected given the crowds and hype

The food is great but the portions are minimal despite the price! The place is well furnished but very small. They made us sit stuck in a corner as if we were grounded! Prices are too high!!!

We ordered several tapas and I recommend the croquetas de queso/espinacas and the jamón ones, pepito de ternera and alcachofas. Do not recommend the tortilla de patatas or the calamari. Service was really good for Amsterdam and the environment is really beautiful. The place is little and do not accept reservations.

A little bit of Spain in Amsterdam and the best is Chef Nico and his grandmother's recipe for stewed meat with potatoes. We will return for sure! :)

Nice cozy restaurant with a homely atmosphere. Simple menu with different tapas, something for everyone. The baguette with tomato, croquettes, padron peppers and octopus were my favorite. Friendly service too.

Way too busy, barely room to sit/eat. But still had a nice evening. Very friendly staff and every dish was delicious. Didn't expect it to be this good. But they really need to start working with reservations and time blocks. Had to walk around for an hour waiting for a spot. And then you see people just take 45 minutes to have a glass of wine. The system really needs to change.
