Came in for a drink and food but the waiter was very unwelcoming and stashed us away in a deserted corner of the restaurant. He did not speak a word to us and it felt very awkward, we decided to leave. Food seemed reasonably priced though, too bad we could not try it out.

It's a small restaurant, which was fine for two people. We ordered typical dishes and they were good. We asked for water and the waitress brought us two open bottles; she didn't offer us a pitcher, which is common practice in other Amsterdam restaurants.

We tried the original Dutch experience food 😁 and it was really good 🤤 I had the mashed potato w/ meatballs and so. AND the Ginger Ale taste awesome too 😍 better reserve a table up front 😉

We went for mulled wine. Everything is nice, the taste is delicious.

Beautiful traditional restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam where you can try typical Dutch dishes... in my case, I wanted to try this typical Dutch mashed potatoes... the Stamppot... simply wonderful in the company of a typical Dutch beer! Pea soup was clearly canned, and a small slice of fried bacon on rye bread? I wonder who came up with that; it's hardly Dutch. Sauerkraut mash contained very little sauerkraut and therefore little flavor. I went home feeling disappointed. It's a nice restaurant, though.

We received a very warm welcome here. There's a homely and peaceful atmosphere, accompanied by authentic Dutch food. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The stairs to the bathroom are incredibly steep, so be aware of this if you have limited mobility.

A tiny restaurant in the center of Amsterdam, serving traditional Dutch food. I had a kind of mashed potato with black cabbage, topped with a warm brown sauce, and accompanied by sausage and smoked bacon. Everything was very good, the service was a bit slow, and the size of the place felt a bit stuffy, but it's very quaint.

We had some lovely food and were served by lovely people. A really great space and a must-visit spot!

I don't understand how this restaurant can have a rating higher than 4/5. We had read very good reviews before going, but we should have heeded the negative ones. The starter arrived very quickly, which raises doubts about the quality of the food. We were barely finished with the starter (the plate wasn't even cleared) when our main courses were served (the escalope was not at all crispy, tasteless, and waterlogged). The owner came to give us the bill, and we could tell from his manner that he wanted everything done quickly; we felt rushed. In short, a restaurant to avoid, really…

Not fancy, but quaint with good, traditional food at a good price.

I went here for dinner and, unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The service was truly terrible—the staff seemed completely disinterested in the customers. Instead of paying attention to the tables, they stood around chatting amongst themselves. It took forever for someone to finally come over. It's a real shame, because the food could have been quite good, but the poor service ruined the whole experience. I definitely won't be back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant either.

I went to this small, traditional restaurant for dinner and ordered a stamppot with vegetables and sauerkraut. Everything was very good, and the fries were really good (which I stole from my friends). I would have liked a cheese omelet, but it was only on the menu if you're having brunch until 6 p.m. This bothered me a bit because if you don't want a stamppot or salmon, the options aren't very varied. I didn't try the dessert, so I can't tell you more. Overall, it was good, and we paid a fair price.

I admit I'm a very picky person when it comes to food. I went for lunch today with my sister—I'm a pastry chef and she's a cook—and I can say the food is truly excellent. The traditional dishes are cheaper and tastier. Considering we're right in the center, two traditional dishes, a beer, and a water cost us €44; we've gone to other places two kilometers from the center where we spent much more and had poor food. I recommend it to everyone and will be back in the next few days.

It looks like a nice restaurant, but it leaves a disappointing experience. Since we were two adults with two children and wanted to try local cuisine without being hungry, we ordered two portions of different local food and beers. The waitress was indignant why only two and demonstratively took away two of our four cutlery. The food offered is not tasty and of poor quality. We did not stay more than 30 minutes.

We wanted to have a traditional Dutch meal so decided to visit. My fiancé has made me Stampot before (he is Dutch but lives in England so we had to modify it) so it was nice to have a true Dutch experience. Me and my mum had Stampot (me with sausage and her with meatball). My 2 children had the Chicken Schnitzel which they loved (I tried some and it was amazing). We also had the Appel Tart for desert which was lovely. The building is very quirky, which we loved. There was just something missing from the atmosphere which I can’t quite put my finger on. The waitress wasn’t quite as welcoming and happy as the waiter but it didn’t lessen our experience. One thing to note, if you have mobility issues you may struggle here, especially with getting to the toilet which is up some very narrow winding stairs.

Nicely decorated restaurant with friendly staff. It would be nice if the staff could be identified by their clothing. What's completely unacceptable, however, is that they write "Wiener Schnitzel" (=veal) on the menu but then serve "Wiener Schnitzel" (=pork). Unfortunately, it's a huge disappointment.

We stopped here because the inside of the Restaurants Looks very nice and They offer traditional dutch Food. The owner (waiter) was Not very friendly and the Food was Quite expensive compared to the quantity we Go Served. It was Not very Special! We ordered the Sauerkraut stampoot and the Vegetarian Burger with dutch Fries. The Burger came without Sauce and for Mayonnaise we had to Pay extra. The Young waiter was very friendly but we would Not come here again because it is Located in a tiny busy road if you sit outside and the Menu Looks Great on a First Look but the Quality and quantity is Not okay. It seems like a Tourist trap.

A wonderful small restaurant, that specializes in Dutch cuisine, filled with extremely kind, considerate and friendly staff. They serve traditional Dutch cuisine, truly wonderfully done. They treat you with such kindness and respect, always willing to accommodate. I come here very often, every month or few months and Akram has gone out of his way to remember my order and always makes sure I’m taken care of. It’s just in the alley behind the busiest shopping street of Amsterdam, which means a nice meal is right there for the taking. I highly recommend if you’re in the mood for a genuine Dutch experience!!

Before the trip, I found this restaurant with good reviews online and decided to choose this as the first restaurant to eat in the Netherlands. I was worried that there would be no seats on Saturday night, so I made a reservation in advance. As a result, no one confirmed the reservation information on the spot, so I got a seat directly 😂 There are not too many seats and it is not very spacious, but it is comfortable overall. The distance between the tables is not wide, and you can clearly hear the conversations of other tables. After being taken to the seat, I waited for a long time before someone came to order the food, and the food also took a long time to wait. The waiter was friendly and could communicate in English but didn't talk much. The food is said to be authentic Dutch food, and it is indeed a taste that I have never eaten anywhere else. I chose mashed potatoes with kale, which tasted very refreshing. The waiter also reminded me to eat the sausage with yellow mustard. The price is very friendly and you can eat very full.
