After some confusion over our booking it transpired to be an excellent meal with great service in a lively atmosphere. It is a small place and they have maximised the number of covers so if you are alarmed by tight spaces be aware. The food choices are very good with something for everyone. Recommended.

It was delicious! 😋 Hutspot and beer 🍺 A large meatball sat like a snowman ⛄️ on top of a large pile of mashed potatoes. The salad and dessert were simple and light, and although the portions were large, they weren't too heavy. 😋 I ate it all in one go. I wish this restaurant was available in Japan.

Unfortunately, not the best taste experience, probably from a supermarket package. The cheese soufflé was excellent. The best taste experience of the evening. The kale was probably the frozen variety, or it was served with endive. It lacked the firm bite that kale should have. The toilet was clean, and the service was excellent.

One of the few Dutch restaurants worthy of the name, my family and I went there at the recommendation of a local tour guide. And we had a great time! The food was delicious (especially the stamppot with both meatballs and sausage) and the service was fast. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next evening with a family of friends, confirming our excellent impression. I highly recommend it.

We booked a table for 7pm with no troubles. We got right in. The service was excellent and felt very welcoming. The stamppot was incredible. I got the vegetarian and it was amazing. My partner got one with a meatball. The portions were generous. The veggie croquettes were also very good with an nice spicy mustard. My only regret is that we had no room for dessert. That homemade chocolate cake sounded so good.

Excellent restaurant. Dutch atmosphere. We wanted to eat typical Dutch dishes, so we ordered stamppot sausages and beef. And for dessert, the apple pie. It was really very good. We were very well received, served quickly, and the dishes were hot. A word of advice: book in advance because they are in high demand. You can do so on the website.

The cuisine is delicious, but the service is quite uncomfortable, the waitress is very impatience and waiter is clean the empty plate immediately when we finish, although we not yet leave. 🤷‍♂️

Tried to get into The Pantry across the street but it was fully booked. This place looked decent and the reviews were good in an area where most of the restaurants are mediocre appealing to the tourist trade. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The tomato soup was nothing special but the Stamp pot with carrots, onions and the Dutch version of pot roast on a big pile of mashed potatoes was quite satisfying. And the service was great. Worth a visit but not a special trip.

We were very satisfied with our meal. We had some wonderful discoveries, with impeccable service (special mention to the barman). We will happily return, but remember to make a reservation.

The food was delicious, the service was unbeatable (the Uruguayan waiter, who spoke to us in Spanish, was very helpful and friendly), the atmosphere was relaxed, and the place was beautiful. We made a reservation the day before. I've attached photos of some of the dishes. The chocolate cake was delicious, with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

It was okay overall. For being in the city center, in such a touristy area, the food they had was actually pretty good. The interior is nice, but quite dark. The service is standard — the waiters aren’t the most skilled at what they do, and they could definitely put in a bit more effort.

There really aren't many positive things to say about this establishment. The waiter who tells you they don't make spritzers even though there are bottles of Aperol on display, the waiter who clears the table while some of us haven't finished eating, one of the cold dishes, three dishes where the vegetables aren't crunchy but rather raw, and finally, being a table of nine, we wanted to divide the bill by "family," i.e., by three, but apparently that was impossible... As a head waiter in Paris, I can assure you that this establishment is not worth a visit.

After reading several positive reviews, We booked. Now I don't know if we're used to eating very well or the others are used to eating badly. So, a starter of soggy, flavorless herring covered in pickled onions. A pea soup that could have been anything since it had no flavor whatsoever. Then the main course, the famous Stamppot. That is, a base of mashed potatoes topped with braised beef and its own sauce. Barely edible, much better than the first two, but still completely devoid of flavor and aroma. What can I say? I must be wrong. The only positive note is that the service staff are always kind and smiling.

This was my first time trying stamppot, accompanied by bitterballs, of course. Everything was delicious. I chose the stamppot with meatballs and tried the one with sausage (which was actually a type of frankfurter), and I liked both. I came from Edinburgh. I had the homemade tart that Levon recommended. It was wonderful. Great price and quality.

At the risk of setting myself apart from the other reviews, we found nothing exceptional, delicious, or pleasant in this restaurant. It's a factory restaurant that sells at high speed. Overcrowded even outside of meal times. Did we choose the wrong dishes? Possibly, but our croquettes were bland and too mushy in the mouth. A plus: the low prices.

The best place in Amsterdam if you want to try the tasty Dutch specialities with fresh ingredients and a touch of elegance and lightness in the preparation. They offer a wide variety of Stamppot (potatoes and vegetables served with meat, meatballs or sausage) and amazing starters like the bitterballen (fried meatballs with mustard) and soups. Delicious desserts (poffertjes) and a fine selection of beers and wines will complete your meal. This place is not expensive: for a starter, a main courses and a beer you will pay about 32 euros.

Decent food but the wait staff was less than interested in taking care of us. Long time before initial drink order. Even longer to get our food. I ordered a soup and, after everyone else’s food was delivered, I had to remind them about my soup. Three people had a desert course included with their meal but they came super late and not at the same time.

We were after traditional Dutch food and we were quite pleased with the offerings here. We had three different stampot and enjoyed all of them. The appeltaart was fine but not stellar. I was a bit surprised that my server didn’t speak Dutch, but we all got on fine in English.

Is this Rotterdammer going to write something positive about 020? Yes indeed! In this place you can just walk to the toilet. Gerse guests too. Great snack satay and hutspot, good cup of coffee. If you have to be in 020, then you can sit here.

Before leaving the Netherlands, I stopped by a Dutch restaurant because I thought I had to try Dutch food at least once. There weren't many Dutch restaurants in Amsterdam, so I found it without much difficulty. I'm not sure if many locals visit, but judging from the atmosphere, it didn't feel like a tourist restaurant. There were a steady stream of walk-ins and it seemed like a restaurant that was doing pretty well. The menu was divided into appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, and each section had about five or six items. The price range seemed reasonable, so I ordered one appetizer and one main dish, and drank beer. First, I ordered bitterballen as an appetizer, which is a Dutch croquette made with potatoes and meat. It was smaller than arancini, and there were six of them on a plate, and they were served with mustard sauce. When I cut it in half and checked the inside, I could feel the texture of mashed potatoes because the ratio of potatoes to meat was higher. The outside was rough because the breadcrumbs were sharp, so it was rough and hard rather than crispy. The taste was okay, but since it was fried, I got sick of it little by little as I ate it. Since the ingredients inside were heavy, it would have been better if the batter was thin and crispy, and the mustard sauce cut through the greasiness, so I kept adding it. I ordered the main dish, and since it looked exactly like a British cottage pie, I could taste it. As expected, my hunch was right, and to be honest, I don't know what the difference is between this and a cottage pie. It was a dish with soft beef like stew piled on top of mashed potatoes and generously poured with gravy sauce, but it tasted really simple. I couldn't taste any savory flavor, and it was just salty, savory, and heavy. Unlike ragu, which has a deep flavor even if it's heavy, the cottage pie and the stamp pot were just very filling. The service was great, but I was disappointed with the Dutch food.

We were in this restaurant - very disappointed. The food was tasteless, the pork had a pronounced unpleasant smell. The place was too noisy. The owner was drunk and quarreled with customers. We will not return and do not recommend it to others.

Very tasty home-style food. Mashed potatoes are one of the mainstays of this establishment. They have three types of them - I recommend trying them. Also in the assortment, Solomon fillet with a tender crust and juicy inside, sausages, beef tenderloin and fresh beer on tap, much, much more.. And the most important thing is the cozy atmosphere. Prices: Main dishes from €20 to €30.

Excellent food and hospitality! We had the shrimp croquettes, beef stamppot and apple pie. All dishes were very well presented and delicious. All employees provided the best service we have encountered during our Amsterdam sit down dining experiences.

This could have been 5 stars, but I have a reason for "only" 4. We wanted Dutch food and we found it (see the pic with the "Hutspot met een Sukadel"), we had a very nice, friendly & dedicated waiter (a guy from Madrid) looking after our table, a real gentleman, so thank you. However, the place was incredibly busy, full actually, and that's OK, but we wonder if the space is big enough for all those customers? There is not much space, and privacy, between tables, so that's the reason for the missing star. Still a good experience though.

We decided to try this historic place given the high number of reviews. Honestly we were pleasantly surprised even though we expected a different flavor from the meatball, as we imagined it fried. We still recommend it especially for trying the braised meat.

Avoid at all costs – absolutely shocking experience Came here with a few mates expecting a decent meal – massive mistake. First off, the food was honestly dreadful. What we got wasn’t even what we ordered, and when we pointed it out, the staff just shrugged it off. Then it got properly dodgy. While we were trying to eat, there was some kind of fight going on upstairs – loads of banging and shouting. Felt really unsafe. And to top it all off, a bloke at another table got hit by something that fell off the bathroom wall. He was bleeding – no joke. When people tried to get help, the staff and even the owner were outright rude and refused to take any responsibility. No apology, no concern – just a terrible attitude. Genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Filthy, chaotic, and the staff were a disgrace. Seriously, avoid this place.

Dutch food is nothing to write home about, but this place is about as good as it gets.
