Pizza Project - Neapolitan Pizza Bar in Overtoomse Sluis

I’ve been to Pizza Project many times, and the quality and hospitality have never disappointed me. The staff are always welcoming and super nice, the food is consistently great, and the vibe is just the best. I always have a great time here, one of my favorite spots!

After a stroll through the neighborhood, we ended up at the patio of Pizza Project. A friendly woman came over to ask what we'd like to drink and eat. We ordered a five-cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza with chili honey. Very tasty and with a very thin crust.

The pizza was great, and the first woman who served us was amazing — she was friendly and reassured us that we’d be able to pay by cash. Unfortunately, when it came time to pay, the male staff member told us that only card payments were accepted. As tourists, we didn’t have a card on us and were forced to use a UK bank card, which led to extra charges. It was a very disappointing end to what started as a lovely meal. Sadly, we won’t be coming back, which is a real shame.

We run into this place because we were looking for pizza, and we saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. And indeed it was a very good choice. The pizzas were amazing. Taste wise it was excellent. The staff was also very polite :). Plus we had to cut the pizzas with scissors which was fun. İ would definitely recommend this place.

I went to Pizza Project and absolutely loved it! The pizza was delicious and the staff was fantastic. I definitely recommend booking a table in advance because it gets super busy. We also tried the sgroppino, which was really good! It was quite crowded and a bit noisy, but honestly, it’s totally worth it, highly recommend!

We’ve been to a lot of pizza places but this was by far the best one we’ve been too. Amazing staff and amazing food and a really cool looking restaurant. Next time we visit Amsterdam we definitely will be back

Top spot for Neapolitan pizza! While searching for a good pizzeria near our accommodation, we found "Pizza Project." Despite the restaurant being quite busy, we got a table at the counter by the window. We ordered two Italian brand drinks and two Margherita pizzas. They were delicious. We were also served a pair of olives as an appetizer. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended!!!

The pizza is very good! The service is excellent! And they even have an Oedipus beer called País Tropical (yes, inspired by Jorge Ben) which is the best IPA I've ever had. Definitely worth a visit!

The pizzas are delicious but the service is terrible!!!! we need to wait 1.30 hour, its too long.

We went for a dinner to celebrate my birthday. Alex was our waitress, she was very very very polite and professional. We toke a beer outside waiting our table because was a little bit out of time (was not a problem for us) and she asked many times if everything was good. She offered an appetizer or dessert for the wait (was just 20 minutes later than our reservation) and she toke a lot attention of us. It is very nice to found that kind of waitress around the city because Amsterdam is not popular with good hospitality. Congratulations to Alex for her work. The pizza was one of the best pizza I had in the city. The place is small and have bar table at the window, I’m not a big fan of that but for pizza is enough. Definitely I will go back.

Very good pizza! I really recommend the rucola and prosciutto one. The waiters were really sweet and attentive too!

Excellent! Light and fluffy crust and fresh ingredients. Really enjoyed sitting outside for dinner. An enjoyable experience.

Used to buy this pizza every week, in my opinion, one of the best in town. The staff is very frinedly and small piece of Italy near Vondelpark.

Wow, I can see why this pizza place is considered one of top 50s in the world. On the first day we showed up without reservations and they had no place for us to sit. We were offered a table outside however it was rainy and cold and the little heaters they have just wouldn’t do it for us. So we made reservations for the next day to sit inside and I’m so glad because it was 100% worth it. I have to admit the crust on this pizza pie is probably one of the best I’ve had ever. Super airy and fluffy just perfect texture and chewy. The pies here are not extravagant, they keep it simple You don’t get too many ingredients, however the different combinations of pies are definitely worth it. Another reason to go here is that it’s not social media driven it’s actually award-winning pizzas.

The pizza was the best in Amsterdam. Also the starters were very good. The service was excelent. Special thanks to dear Daria who kept me warmer and drier on a rainy afternoon, and more welcome. Will return as soon as I return to Amsterdam.

Amazing! One of the best pizzas we have ever had!

The pizza dough was excellent, and the cheese bread came in a generous portion, which was a nice touch. That said, some details kept it from being a standout experience: the sauce could have used a bit more flavor, the cheese bread leaned on the heavier side, and drinks were quite small for the price. Service was friendly but a little disorganized — other people's orders got confused often and they kept asking if it was for our table. The pizza arrived unsliced, and we were given scissors to handle it ourselves, which was quirky if a bit unusual. Total cost was around 20 per person, which I find expensive for pizza. Overall, not a bad place, just not as memorable as other restaurants we tried.

We didn't have a reservation but were able to stay anyway. Great pizza and friendly staff.

One of the best places in Amsterdam to serve pizza in Napolitan style, this place is a quiet gem in Oud West and perfect for pizza lovers. We’ve all ordered the special of the month, which was an intriguing combination of zucchini, mozzarella, prosciutto and parmesan, and we were all delighted with the flavor. The tiramisu was also great. The service was fast and attentive and I’m definitely planning to return.

We stumbled upon it by chance after a stroll through Vondelpark, and were pleasantly surprised by this small but very welcoming and clean place, where they served very good pizzas at a fair price! They also do Nutella pizza for dessert to share, still water is included, and the staff was super friendly and helpful! Highly recommended!

Best pizza I’ve had in Amsterdam! The quality and quantity of the ingredients were a solid 10/10. I had the prosciutto with arugula, and the prosciutto slices were no joke — generous and full of flavor. My friend ordered a vegan pizza with eggplant and pine nuts, and the combination of ingredients was surprisingly delicious. Can’t wait to come back!

Cozy place with a very friendly stuff….we ordered very tasty meatballs and Caprese. We also ordered mushroom pizza with truffle sauce with adding up a Parma ham on a top. It was a little bit too soaky and maybe just not my taste. but in general it was a nice experience.

Pizza would have been nice I guess if it wasn't lukewarm when it arrived to at our table. Professional take: adjust the service and/or prices, because this was a New York Pizza experience. If you're into that sure, otherwise just go to nNea and have proper pizza

We had such a great dinner at Pizza Project! Sitting outside was cozy and relaxed, the staff were super friendly and everything came out quickly. The whole vibe felt welcoming, and the food was the highlight: the pizza dough was perfectly chewy and crisp, and the garlic bread was so good I could’ve eaten ten of them. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re craving great pizza in a warm atmosphere.

A great place with authentic pizza, just like in Naples. It's always hard to find a pizzeria that makes them like they do there. Otherwise, the atmosphere is great and the service is friendly. Definitely recommended.

Low-key restaurant with great pizza!

One of the best pizzerias in Amsterdam. The dough is light, and the pizza is made with high quality ingredients. Cozy interior, cool and young staff with positive energy and a smile always on their faces! It can get a bit noisy inside, and it might be worth booking a table in advance but it’s definitely staying on my list from now on

I honestly don't understand why this place is such a hype. The pizzas are delicious but not really special. You need to wait about 30 min for food as the place is super busy, and it is quite cramped inside.

The best pizza I've had in a long time. The crust is thin, the crust thick and crispy. Many interesting variations, some a bit more unusual, and even some vegan options. The two desserts we tried (pistachio cheesecake and tiramisu) were delicious.

We had ordered takeout for a big group and it came through uber eats fairly quickly but 3 pizzas never arrived and the ingredients on the pizzas were scarce…

The Pizza was good but a little bit too oily. We visited the restaurant at 7PM and it was very busy, so the ambiance wasn‘t the best. But overall it was alright.

One of the best pizzas I've ever had outside of Italy! The dough is light, the ingredients are top quality, and you can really taste the love in every bite. We had such a great time at Pizza Project! The space is cozy and beautifully designed, but what truly makes it special is the staff. They’re young, friendly, and full of positive energy – they make you feel completely at home from the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of place you can’t wait to come back to… and when we'll be back in Amsterdam we definitely will!

Genuinely, the best pizza in town. If you like your pizza spicy, Nduja is a must! The service was also absolutely lovely, so the whole experience was nothing short of amazing! The attentiveness, wonderful food and drinks, this place got it all. Definitely recommend!

I don't care how good your pizza might be if your staff treats customers like an inconvenience, it's a no from me. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were bothering them just by existing. No greeting, no smile - just blank stares and an attitude like we owed them something. When we asked a simple question about the menu, the guy at the counter rolled his eyes like we were wasting his time. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our food (the place wasn't even busy), and when we politely asked about the delay, the response was short and snappy – no apology, no explanation, just pure attitude. Look, I get it - eve when your entire fro. as bad days. But -house staff acts like they hate their job and the people they're serving, maybe it's time for a team meeting... or a reality check. Won't be back. Plenty of other pizza places where they know how to treat paying customers.

Best pizza and world class service! Thanks for helping us out finding a table with our baby in the rain! Tiramisu is one of a kind. We found out about the pizza when we were in the closeby park a day earlier and if the weather allows it bringing take away there did look amazing!

I tried the focaccia and pizza, and both were good. However, the hot, severe weather inside the store made it hard to enjoy them.

We've been coming here for years but the last two times we noticed a dramatic drop in quality. A few days ago we had the mushroom/truffle pizza, which initially blew our minds a couple years ago, and we could not even finish it. Shame about the lack of consistency. Still good service though.

I'm a fan of pistachios, and I have to confess that their cheesecake is one of the best I've ever had. 😍! I usually can't finish a whole pizza, so I ordered the kid's size, and it was the perfect choice. Water is free, which is greatly appreciated in Amsterdam.

Super nice pizza, authentic Neo Neapolitan style. The staff is super friendly, atmosphere is cozy and the food is amazing. The dough is super nice, and the toppings are fresh and tasty. I particularly liked the mortadella and pistacchio pizza.

I had amazing pizza here, among some of the nicest Neapolitan pizza I’ve ever had. There are a good number of choices on the menu, even though some classics like ham & mushrooms were missing. The portions size is good and the price is fair. The dough was really soft and tasty, and there was a good amount of toppings. I’d say the pepperoni pizza was slightly too oily and too sweet, but I’d rather have that than too sour! The only downside is the space: it’s very cramped and other guests always brush against you. It’s also not very well decorated, with the walls looking like they haven’t been cleaned or painted for a long time. The stuff also seemed clumsy, almost dropping pizzas on customers.

Great Neapolitan pizza at Pizza Project! The location is very nice, in the charming side of Amsterdam. On a sunny day, it is so nice to sit outside. Inside the seating is less comfortable, but the quality of the pizza and the good service make up for that.

When checking out, please make sure that the bill includes the water we didn't order.

Excellent place to eat typical Neapolitan pizza. The service is really friendly, and the price is good—you pay less than 20 euros per person for an excellent pizza. What's more, if you want dessert, the tiramisu is also very good. Water is free.
