Pizza Project - Neapolitan Pizza Bar in Overtoomse Sluis

We ordered 2 takeaway pizzas on Sunday, the app said delivery time was 8:05 but the pizzas were ready well in advance, around 7:40. Unfortunately, however, the dough turned out to be raw in several places, while the base was burnt (see photo). It's a shame because the ingredients are of good quality and the staff is also friendly and helpful.

Tasty pizza! Friendly staff and a nice little restaurant, what more could you want? Pizza is also well filled. Better than I expected. The pepperoni pizza with spicy honey is delicious! Hey, the only point for improvement is to possibly do something about the draft. When people come in or leave, you can feel the draft/cold from outside. But for the rest...no criticism and I would love to come back!

Amazing spot for Italian!! You must try it, whether you’re a local or visitor, please come! The staff is very friendly. The pizza is a good size for personal pizza & the (owner?) has great suggestions for wine pairings. Loved my meal and got a limoncello shot on the house! Support the business.

Strong contender for best pizza in the neighbourhood and possibly the city – which I admit isn't saying that much in Amsterdam. Especially if you can't (or can't be bothered to) get a table at nNea, though nearby LAB111 sometimes knock it out the park with their sourdough pizzas. Still, these are pretty reliable, classic Neapolitans – and you should reserve if planning to eat in on a weekend.

Super tasty pizzas! Staff was very friendly and offered us a drink when we had to wait a while because it was busy. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant!

The actual pizza was very nice. My only negative comment is that we ordered the focaccia starter and it wasn't a focaccia, it was just some pizza dough off-cuts. It was nice but feels overpriced and misleading. Edit after comment: Yes I mean the crust dippers. It was just pizza crusts, not a focaccia. Disappointing :/

Pizza was decent but service was terrible. I booked on a Tuesday night to avoid being sat at the bar and was then offered the bar as it suited the waiter. This is despite paying €10 to avoid the bar seat. I was then told I would need to move from my new table during my meal, as there was a large booking coming in. I haven't dined out to play musical chairs. The waiter apologised only after I had paid full price. Disappointed.

The best Napoletan pizza I tried in Amsterdam!

I would say that for sure it’s a very good Italian place for a good pizza. Maybe not the 4.8 but a high 4 in my opinion. The staff are super nice and friendly. The options are a bit limited to what I know in Italian but still you will get a delicious pizza. Their sweets are super.

Their pizza: just amazing!! Can’t recommend them enough, perfect napoletana dough, a variety of (also vega(n)) toppings, and for finish they have nutella pizza, tiramisu & the best limoncello I ever tasted🤩

one of the best pizzas ive ever eaten. Service was great I made a mistake with my order but they had zero issues fixing it. The tiramisu to finish it was the cherry on top.

If you get Limoncello on your table without ordering, it's not a mistake, it's a gift from friendly waiters, just drink it. Good pizzas.

Very good Neapolitano style pizza (soft crust instead of hard crust) for a decent price with warm atmosphere. Service is pretty fast and polite. I'd recommend this place to try at least once! They got some non traditional pizzas but the 5 cheese pizza is the best in my opinion..

Best experience food wise I have had during this Amsterdam trip! The place gives you this cosy vibe with seating inside and outside. The inside can get very packed but the vibes are top! Outside of Italy , pizza project is the first place I genuinely liked a Napolitan style pizza and that too a truffle one. We also tried the bruschetta and ended with the house Tiramisu ( empty jar in the pic, tells you how good it was) which was the best option as it tasted just like my last Rome trip. The staff was super and genuinely nice! Definitely my go to place next time I'm here!!

Favorite pizza place in the neighborhood - love cutting our slices with scissors! Usually busy, but takeout is very quick.

The service is super friendly, but the space inside is very small so reservation is recommended! I removed one star because I was disappointed by the vegan pizza with roasted peppers, I thought it lacked flavour, and considering the price the toppings were not very generous... I would love to see more creative vegan options, or even just with more vegetables! However in general the pizzas are tasty with very good dough and quality products.

Great place with super friendly and helpful staff! The terrace is one of the best in Oud-West. My recommendation: start with the meatballs and Crust Dippers, enjoy an Aperol Spritz, and try the Pepperoni & Chili honey pizza. End with the Tiramisu and Limoncello – it doesn’t get better than this! Everything was nearly perfect.

Awesome pizza here! Me and my girlfriend order 2 pizzas "Roasted bell pepper with Burrata" and "Mortadella and Pistacchio", both of them were amazing and I can feel the taste of Napolitan Gourmet Pizza. The Pistachio Pizza was light and delicious also the Pepper with Burrata Pizza was light and with a very nice and tasty. As Italina guy I would you like to suggest this Pizza Project because that is the right way to eat a PIZZA!

Great pizza, friendly staff and good prices

The dough is incredibly tender and soft. Served with scissors. It can be problematic to eat with your hands unless you roll the pizza. Delicious!

It becomes the top on my list of best pizza in Amsterdam. The crust is delicious, soft, tasty, not hard and tasteless like any other pizza place. Contents are rich, cheese is with very amazing taste. Recommended: 5 cheese and pisctachio pizzas. Will definitely visit again.

Enjoyed eating here. The spicy sausage pizza was very tasty, but I had higher hopes for the truffle pizza given that it’s their bestseller. I was expecting more diverse flavors and something to balance out the mushroom taste. Loved the salad presentation, so colorful and appetizing. We were serviced by such a cheerful waitress, it was lovely. Will come back to try different pizzas!

The Pizza project serves proper Neapolitan pizzas. They are one of only a handful of places that do in Amsterdam. Their 2 day fermented dough is delicious and the toppings are great too! Love this place!

Truly Neapolitan, extremely delicious!

We had our last dinner during our vacation here and absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The pizza was fantastic with a generous amount of toppings in great quality. Also the meatballs which we had as a starter were great. The tomato sauce was literally to die for! The only thing we didn’t like as much was the service. The server was pretty much by herself and seemed super stressed, forgetting things and just being rushed. Nevertheless, all food came out hot and tasty. We will definitely return 🫶🏻

Super good napoletana Pizza, I tried one with green base sauce and nuts. However the best one is the classic Margaritte I had on another day.

Normally having pizza delivered is always a disappointment, but even delivered the pizza was super good! Pizza of the month and quattro formaggi are recommended!

This pizza restaurant has a brilliant atmosphere, it is a small pizzeria out of the way of the often busy main streets of Amsterdam. The staff are very kind, with good experience, it is evident that these staff members are well trained. The food is incredible (very tasty) amazing quality particularly for the price. Would recommend 100% it is a must visit location. No wonder it’s received an award as one of the top 50 pizza spots within Europe!

Pizza's success over the years relies on its simplicity: get good quality products, dough, tomato and cheese, a very hot oven, basic cooking skills, and start building from there (You can even shout some italian words for dramatic purposes if you want). Done. Simple. Tasty. Maybe that's why Pizza is everyone's favourite all around the globe. Or at least this part of the globe. Pizza Project success also relies on its simplicity: get a lovely corner in Amsterdam, set it up nicely, with the friendliest, warmest staff - able to communicate clearly while being very busy and accommodating you promptly - and of course top quality pizza with some creative alternatives. Aand you're done* Maybe that's why Pizza Project is everyone's favourite. At least in this part of Amsterdam. * Now that I read it, it's actually not that simple to achieve all that in a restaurant. But they did, and you get the point: this place is great, beebada boopy-dee.

Service and atmosphere were excellent, so was the Mortadella Pistachio pizza - the taste was out of this world. Only my partner’s salami was slightly underwhelming as the mozzarella was not melted and he felt like it’s undercooked. We will return though and try other flavors. The dough itself is perfection.

Fantastic Neighborhood Pizzeria We live next door and order from this pizzeria about 2 to 3 times a month. The quality of the pizza is consistently perfect. The dough is excellent, and the toppings are just right—not too much, not too little. Their "Pizza of the Month" specials are always amazing. It's wonderful to have a place like this in our street. It's always busy, but the atmosphere is nice and not loud. The restaurant is small and cozy, making it a great spot for a relaxing meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful Neapolitan pizza experience.

The BEST pizza in Amsterdam. Located outside of the city center, it takes you around 30 minutes if you go by train or 45 minutes by foot. The pizza is amazing, true napoletana, unlike many other Dutch restaurants which misleadingly put the famous pizza style in their restaurants’ name. The staff is really friendly, the service is fast, it’s not too expensive. Really worth it. I recommend walking to the restaurant, as you’re going to feel the city a lot better when going to the suburbs. Amazing pizza!

Overall really good pizza experience and great service. Only thing is that our pizza took 30 minutes to arrive but it was delicious.

We were so grateful to get a last minute table for dinner. The wonderful staff were friendly and quick and accommodated 4 adults, 1 toddler and baby. The pizza was superb, great crust with the right balance of toppings. We shared the roast capsicum cherry tomato and buffalo mozzarellla and the pepperoni with hot honey. Both were balanced beautifully. We got the kids margherita for our toddler which he really enjoyed. The scissors to cut the pizza was genius! A hidden gem.

I booked for 3pax on a Saturday from 6pm-8pm.The place was packed right from the start and it was obvious they couldn't handle it because whatever we ordered it all took ages, whether a few wines (''yes they're pouring the drinks right now'' ..yea right..),starter or main course.Alright,a waitress said it was her 2nd night so I cut her some slack.The pizza's finally came(took more than an hour)and they had many burned spots so we had to cut these off. Nevertheless I decided to give a tip as an encouragement for the waitress who was just starting after all (and working in the same branch I know how difficult it can be) but someone else handled the bill and,although having accepted the tip,this person took the liberty to tell us,obviously irritated ,we had actually overstayed our alloted time and warned us to arrange for an extra hour next time.Of course right away we pointed out and emphasized they themselves let us wait for hours on end,what do they expect? No apologies whatsoever were offered by this waiter. So no 'next time' for us after such treatment thx very much.

Had pizzas delivered last week that did not arrive properly. That was completely the fault of delivery service Uber Eats. After contacting pizza project, they offered us to eat free pizza as compensation. While there was little they could do about the fact that Uber had delivered the pizzas in such a lousy manner. Today we have come to fulfill the promise. Delicious pizzas, and excellent customer service that you rarely encounter in the Netherlands. Very friendly staff, and handled very well. Big kudos to you!

The quality of food is at least as good as overrated Nnea. The atmosphere is way better though plus the staff is not arrogant ar pizza project. So Pizza Project is way more fun than Nnea. No1 pizzeria of Amsterdam

Probably it happened to us as an exception,but still. The food service delayed more than an hour due to electricity problem. However the staff never informed us about the obvious delay, but instead they kept promising us that after 5 minutes we would be served. The place is small inside and there is small space outside on the pavement.

The Neapolitan pizzas are really great and I’ve been back a few times always happily. I wasn’t as convinced by the tiramisu though and wouldn’t order it again.

5 stars for that magnificent pizza that we ate with the best ingredients, the close and friendly treatment of the waiters and the youthful and casual atmosphere in the restaurant. Great guys!

Has quickly become my go to place in this neighbourhood. Better than many pizzeria I have been to in Italy even. The team is very friendly and helpful which is a big plus. Love it!

Booked for a large party of 10 on the same day. Sadly there was an electricity outage earlier that day so by the time we arrived at the restaurant they were a bit behind so we had to wait 30ish minutes for our party’s table. This was completely out of their control, and despite the waittime, they attended to us, providing us with drinks during the wait time. Overall the service was a bit slow, but considering how incredibly busy this place was, it was amazing. It is understandably busy, as the food is DELICIOUS, the pizza crust was impeccable, super fresh ingredients and a really nice cosy atmosphere. Overall would definitely eat here again, it’s so incredibly worth it. Hats off to the staff that worked yesterday night (14/06/24)!
