Pizza Project - Neapolitan Pizza Bar in Overtoomse Sluis

We found this restaurant by accident, but I think it was one of the best accidents that ever happened to me. The personal was so friendly and the pizza was incredibly delicious!! If I visit Amsterdam again I’ll definitely come back!

Best pizza and world class service! Thanks for helping us out finding a table with our baby in the rain! Tiramisu is one of a kind. We found out about the pizza when we were in the closeby park a day earlier and if the weather allows it bringing take away there did look amazing!

I tried the focaccia and pizza, and both were good. However, the hot, severe weather inside the store made it hard to enjoy them.

We've been coming here for years but the last two times we noticed a dramatic drop in quality. A few days ago we had the mushroom/truffle pizza, which initially blew our minds a couple years ago, and we could not even finish it. Shame about the lack of consistency. Still good service though.

I'm a fan of pistachios, and I have to confess that their cheesecake is one of the best I've ever had. 😍! I usually can't finish a whole pizza, so I ordered the kid's size, and it was the perfect choice. Water is free, which is greatly appreciated in Amsterdam.

Super nice pizza, authentic Neo Neapolitan style. The staff is super friendly, atmosphere is cozy and the food is amazing. The dough is super nice, and the toppings are fresh and tasty. I particularly liked the mortadella and pistacchio pizza.

The only problem with pizza (from pizza project) is that you eventually run out of pizza (from pizza project) - Margaret Thatcher probably

I had amazing pizza here, among some of the nicest Neapolitan pizza I’ve ever had. There are a good number of choices on the menu, even though some classics like ham & mushrooms were missing. The portions size is good and the price is fair. The dough was really soft and tasty, and there was a good amount of toppings. I’d say the pepperoni pizza was slightly too oily and too sweet, but I’d rather have that than too sour! The only downside is the space: it’s very cramped and other guests always brush against you. It’s also not very well decorated, with the walls looking like they haven’t been cleaned or painted for a long time. The stuff also seemed clumsy, almost dropping pizzas on customers.

Great Neapolitan pizza at Pizza Project! The location is very nice, in the charming side of Amsterdam. On a sunny day, it is so nice to sit outside. Inside the seating is less comfortable, but the quality of the pizza and the good service make up for that.

When checking out, please make sure that the bill includes the water we didn't order.

Excellent place to eat typical Neapolitan pizza. The service is really friendly, and the price is good—you pay less than 20 euros per person for an excellent pizza. What's more, if you want dessert, the tiramisu is also very good. Water is free.

Yeah just 5 stars all around. Definitely a top tier pizza in Amsterdam. I liked how the dough was thicker than other Neapolitan pizzas that I’ve had in Amsterdam.

My favorite restaurant in the city. Period The best dough I have tried. Dont miss their pistachio and mortadella pizza, the best combo with an amazing staff and atmosphere. What an adress !

I usually get pizza to go from this place because I live nearby, but too often it’s burnt — especially at the bottom, making it very difficult to eat. It feels like they wouldn’t serve it like that in the restaurant, but with takeaway, they just close the box and you only find out once you’re home. This shouldn’t happen. Next time, I’ll ask to check the pizza before leaving — and I won’t accept it if it’s burnt again.

Don't forget to taste Sanpellegrino Chinotto!

Pizza is incredible and they have a large, creative menu with vegan options . I tried the pizza of the month (pea, prosciutto and taralli) and the Norma (with extra spicy oil) and it was delicious. Our server Romy was so knowledgeable and attentive. She recommended the tiramisu for dessert which is also a must try.

Best pizza in Amsterdam, I’m from Italy and when in Italy I’m nostalgic of Pizza Project. Not even kidding. Great service, Romy is so kind and professional, cute place in quiet residential neighborhood. Highly recommend!!

We visited on a busy Friday evening with a reservation, but our dining experience was disappointing due to significant delays. It took approximately 45 minutes for our starters to arrive, followed by an additional 15-20 minutes for our pizzas. While I understand the challenges of a busy evening, having a reservation should ensure more efficient service. We hope for improved timing and organization in the future.

Great food, but I was taken aback from the rudeness of the waitress. It’s 31 C outside; I cycled here and I got scolded for having a a sip of my vitamin water whilst waiting for the drink order. Not a nice customer experience, it honestly ruined it for me.

We're a regular visitor to different pizza project restaurants however, it looked like the deserts of this place have lost its charm. Tiramisu and Panna cotta didn't taste the same as before. Pizzas were good as always

Some of the best pizzas in Amsterdam. Both take out and dine-in is great, quick and friendly service. The place has a cosy atmosphere.

I find it overrated, ordered a few times and tried with my friend one time to get a place there, and the service was bad, very uninterested. There were empty tables but they said they will not serve us for another 2 hours. By contrast we then went to the one place nearby with the best pizza (hint: nN) and even though there is always full for very good reasons as they do have the best pizza, they still accommodated us in 20 mins and superb service there, very helpful. Therefore, by comparison , I would not recommend Pizza Project to anyone, nothing special.

Fabulous. I work at a fellow Pizza restaurant and had a great lunch here with my daughter. The terrace is super cute, amazing service from Romy too. The pizzas are tasty and creative, tried the mortadella and a classic margy. Extensive drinks selection, want to try more next time!

Good pizza and lovely servers. The draft can be a little unpleasant when you sit at the corner seat in front of the door. The servers have to keep the door open when the terrace is busy.

Pizza Project was an excellent choice for dinner. We stumbled upon this place by chance — it was packed, and although we didn’t have a reservation, the waitress kindly found us a spot at the bar. The staff was incredibly polite, friendly, and attentive at all times. The pizzas were outstanding, with amazing dough. The atmosphere is great, and the prices are more than reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place!

I think this could have been the best pizza i had in Netherlands. Had the peperoni and hot honey pizza, definitely a favourite for my flavour pallet. Amazing dough, very nice attentitve service! Definitely would go again!

This place was delicious! Awesome wood fired pizza in a cozy neighborhood setting.

Our favorite place to eat with small children! We always go early (5:30 PM) and if the weather is good we sit on the terrace. Super sweet service too. The only minor downside is that all meat pizzas contain pork. It would be nice to also have a non-vegetarian option. The tiramisu is without alcohol so that's great!

We had a mixed feeling about this place. The service is amazing and very very friendly. The pizza is, compared to other Neapolitan pizzas in the city not as good. The ingredients are top but all our pizzas were in the middle so soaking wet that it was not really nice to eat, it was just a mash of wet dough.

It’s a nice little local restaurant which was recommend to us by a friend who has been living in Amsterdam. Possibly the best pizzas we have ever had. The truffle pizza was my favourite. We didn’t know we had to book in advance but the staff was very accommodating and managed to find us a table with limited time (which was plenty for us to finish our meal) We really wanted to return during our time in Amsterdam but haven’t had the chance. If you are around book in advance and don’t miss the chance to dine here!

Wow I'm surprised this place was so highly rated. I was excited to finally go but was so disappointed by both pizzas we ordered. The pizza sauce was watery so the pizza was really soggy. Dough was rubbery. The pepperoni wasn't very tasty. Won't return for sure.

First of all, it should be said that reservation is required. Even if you make a reservation, they want you to be greeted at the door of the restaurant and enter with the waiter. The place is very small, maybe to avoid chaos. They also have 2 tables outside. The dough is very delicious, I normally skip the pizza crust but I ate it here. There are many different pizzas, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks on their menu. You can ask for tap water as is the case in the Netherlands. The garlic bread does not come as a baguette like we are used to but as a mini pizza, which was the only thing that upset me, I did not like it very much. The artichoke salad with burrata was also good. We were generally pleased with what we ate. This is a project brought to life by people living in the neighborhood. I recommend it.

Neapolitan pizza as it should be! We were lucky - we got a seat at the bar without a reservation, certainly unusual for a Saturday evening. Despite the restaurant being full, all the employees were super friendly and accommodating. We were able to look into the kitchen and watch the great pizzas being prepared. Excellent taste, airy dough (maybe a little salt?), fresh tomato sauce, delicious ingredients. Definitely a recommendation!

We ordered the Pepperoni and Spicy Honey Pizza to share (2 people). It tasted fresh and had a homely feel to it. Incredibly delicious! It was served so quickly too! Our waitron was friendly and loved how easy the place was to find. We also arrived on a warm sunny day and so that added to the ambience. If we lived closer we would make it a weekly or bi-weekly date.

Absolutely one of the best pizzas we ever had! The dough was so fluffy and the pizza is just bursting with flavour. We came around 4 pm (walk in) and they are able to serve us right away. However as more people came, the service became quite slow and I had to wait for about half an hour for my dessert :/ we sat outside as there is a bit of pet smell inside the shop. Overall experience was good.

Very warm welcome, the service is there and attentive. The pizzas were good but not exceptional. I had a pizza with a buratta but unfortunately, there was not the ball but pieces... It's a shame not to specify that. The room is small and quite noisy.

Amazing pizza with great crust. They also have a few great appetizers and a pizza of the month which is fun to try new flavors. The service is also quick and friendly. The place is quite small so not super cozy to eat there but very nice in the summer when you can sit outside. I would recommend making a reservation before hand to make sure you have a spot. Like many pizza places they have enough vegetarian and also vegan options.

Best pizza we had in Amsterdam (and we ate a lot). Perfect fluffy crusts, ample tasty toppings, supplied us with hot honey on request for no extra charge. Friendly helpful waitress. Cute place, drops 1 star on atmosphere as it was quite empty but we had an early dinner and it was starting to fill up when we left.

The best pizza restaurant in Amsterdam Honey spicy? There's pizza. It's sweet, salty, and spicy...it's really delicious, and the pizza dough is so chewy that you end up eating the whole thing! Highly recommended. The store is a bit small, so there is a high chance of waiting.

I order here regularly, but I am really dissatisfied with my last order. Both pizzas were cold, but my pizza nduja was just not tasty. There was hardly any sauce on it but there were large watery chunks of tomato and one stray pepper. The pizza was very soft and except for the nduja there was no taste to it. Maybe we ran out of sauce? In any case, a shame considering the price!

Wanted to try this neighborhood pizzeria. If you like Neapolitan style pizza, this is your place! For myself, it got again confirmed that I like Roman style pizza better. The dough is too chewy and soft for me. Besides that, the cheese they use becomes rubber like when melted and I prefer a more crunchy pizza. But I guess that’s a matter of taste.

Best pizza in Amsterdam (and surroundings)! Insanely good dough, tasty toppings that are not too standard but not too much fuss either. Nice, intimate setting that feels nice and informal, really kind of like a living room. Romy also served us excellently.

Unfortunately our experience was not good. we ordered two pizzas. The pizza was delivered cold, but maybe it wasn't because of Pizza Project, but because of Uber Eats. As for the dough, it was so thin and there was so much tomato sauce that the pizza was wet and when I took it from the box, the inside remained wet in the box. I ordered 5 cheeses - I didn't taste any cheese nor did I see there were 5 types. The flavor of tomato sauce predominated. I had the impression that I was eating Margherita with triple tomato sauce. Disappointing experience...

I had a leisurely meal here, I ordered the pizza Mortadella pistacchio, it was very tasty and highly recommended🍕 Nice cozy atmosphere with nice staff.

Love Pizza Project West! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the mortadella & pistachio pizza is absolutely to die for. Even better, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Great food and great service—what more could you ask for?

Had an amazing experience from start to end. Great and friendly staff. Table was ready on time for our reservation, food was delicious and was very lively and fun. Miss only complain was that some appetizers and pizzas were indeed not warm enough as if they had been waiting on a counter for too long. Hopefully they can find a way to bring them sooner or reheat them in the oven temporarily before bringing them to the table. Top recommended from us: garlic bread appetizer and pistachio/mortadela pizza ❤️ Thank you for everything.
