Pizzeria Ristorante La Fontanella in Wijk 11 Binnenstad

The atmosphere and the food are good. However, we had a reservation for 5:30 (and ordered quite quickly afterward) and didn't get our food until 7:30! Since I didn't have an appetizer, the wait was incredibly long and totally not worth it! 😡

Ordered 62 euros. It was supposed to be delivered within half an hour. Well, it took two and a half hours. We called twice! They apologized twice, but that was useless. We didn't receive any compensation either. This is terrible!

My husband and I went yesterday for dinner around 19:15. The place was not busy. When we asked about a table the waitress told us that they do not have any just one in front of the door, when we looked around she offered a table close to the window which was also free, We decided to stay because we like pasta from this restaurant, we were there many times. The waitress did not have the will to work yesterday, the food arrived at 8 when almost no clients left and only because the waitress came to ask us if everything was ok when we only had our drinks but no food. We won't come back there. We went for dessert to Hanno, just around the corner, a wonderful known place for us. Every employee was smiling, eager for making us have a good time there, as usual. I will keep making pasta at home, it is a pity that in this country it is so difficult to find people who understand the importance of treating clients decently.

Chewy starter brrod with spreads. It had been there for a while. The pizzas eventually arrived, but all in all everything took way too long and it wasn't really tasty. Paying was also a challenge, so after a long wait she asked if she still wanted money for it? A pity and a shame actually. This won't make you happy. So not worth repeating.

La Fontanella is an attractive and cozy restaurant! A small, warm place with good and tasty food. In the summer you can also enjoy the terrace boat right in front of the door. There is a wide choice of different wines, which is a nice extra. Is it the best Italian I've ever eaten? No, but that doesn't make it any less of a place I'd love to come back to. The quality is always more than sufficient and consistent. The staff is friendly and the delivery service is excellent. You've come to the right place for fresh pizza delivered to your home. If you eat in the restaurant, I can definitely recommend the Bistecca Parmigiano!

Used to be a great restaurant. Worthless now. Reservation on site not known, fortunately we had a confirmation by email. Then just a table in a remote corner. Soft drinks by the glass, simply from 1½ liter bottles. Food way too salty. So never again....

Good atmosphere. When you walk in, it feels like a little taverna in Italy. However, when it comes to the food, I was a bit disappointed. I understand that the recipes and menu are adjusted for Dutch customers, but when you're 'the oldest Italian restaurant in Delft,' there should be a bit more Italian authenticity in the menu. This is especially true for the pizzas. They looked like a better version of the Albert Heijn ones (but that's just my personal Italian opinion). Including some more traditional options would be great. Also, adding a couple of Italian beers would be a nice touch. Other than that, there’s nothing to complain about. Good service, tasty starters (bruschetta), and a pleasant atmosphere. Just not the kind of Italian restaurant where Italians would typically go.

Food could be a bit more authentic with some dishes. And less Dutch. Super friendly staff. Food is simply very tasty.

It took a long time before we could order and that was repeated with dessert. Was offered an apology with a drink. Fine. The starters were simple, but very, very tasty! Main courses too heavy and too much. You can't get it away. Suggestion to give the customer a choice for ordering all entrees.

Dined at this restaurant yesterday for a special occasion. And i usually like this place, but not this time. I had a starter, main and desert, but the starter which had shrimp in it tastes really fishy like it was spoiled, so was not nice. The main dish was a broccoli and gorgonzola pasta but it tasted like literally nothing which is weird with a gorgonzola pasta. The quality of the ingredients they use is very low and seem to be the cheapest available and you can taste that. Above this the young blond waitress who was serving us had a really nasty hostile attitude towards us from the start which made me very uncomfortable. Almost like we weren't welcome there. I would definitely would not recommend anyone eating here when coming to Delft. There are much better italian places.

It is the best of the best, not only in Italian food, but really the best in everything, atmosphere, service and really very exquisite. I highly recommend it.

We ordered two pizza and half of them was remained Asked for box and they put them together in the foil. When I opened the foil at home I saw they put them on top of each other. Taste was not okey. Meat was spoiled smell. I called them and asked why they did this, instead of apologies they said this is our system. They said you said put them together, but I never told to mix them together in the foil. 😂😂😂 Service was super slow. Not polite on the phone. I had a bad exprience. Never come back. When I asked them on the phone why you did not put them in the pizza box, they said because you did not paid for the box. Only you paid for pizzas!!!😳😳😳 She said why you did not check them how we put them for you. It is the shame. How it is possible that much impolite and non-respectful attitude to the costumer. Shame shame shame.

We come here often, our favorite Italian in Delft. Delicious pizzas, good value for money and friendly staff. Highly recommended! ❤️🇮🇹

Service was busy but not efficient. Pizza cooked dry. No oil served. Not once asked if it was to our liking if we wanted a drink. We won't be back.

Takes quite a long time, the starter was good (tomato soup) and the staff nice. The pizza, on the other hand, was really tasteless, not bad, just not much taste. The pizza dough was very filling. I wouldn't go again because of the pizzas.

Delicious pizzas! Not a lot of choice in pizza types, but what they have is very good. Ate outside on the boat, which is also recommended when the weather is nice. Tip: immediately ask for salt and pepper to add a little more flavor.

Onion Soup, Ravioli and Pizza. The onion soup has many (too) large pieces of onions, you have to like that, but normally I always eat my soup at other places, so not here. Bread with the soup tough. Pizza and Ravioli not very special. I felt like I had to wait a long time even though there were only 3 tables occupied. Actually not worth repeating.

The food was delicious, especially the starter, but we had to wait 1.15 hours for our pizza, so I canceled it. We sat at a table for 2 hours to eat 1 starter, which we thought was really too long with 3 people. The food was tasty, but the kitchen is an unorganized mess. Service was pleasant and friendly

The pizza was very tasty - but we waited 1 hour for a starter (4 small breads) and then almost another hour for our pizza. I ordered it without olives, but there was still an olive on the pizza - that's ok since I just don't like it, but if I had an allergy it would have been really bad. Although an apology was made, it still ended up taking far too long.

We’ve had some fabulous meals in Delft but unluckily this one wasn’t one of them. This is not a bad resto but they are just not up there. They are mostly riding on the overall popularity of this nice town. But have some crucial things wrong. Mostly the experience of the staff (not comparable with the 4 establishments we visited before in Delft), probably not helped by rules they have to follow by management (that just are detrimental to the overall experience). It started when we were seated and asked if we wanted to drink something. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and some ice water for my family (my wife and 2 kids). After a while the waiter came back saying he could not serve ice water since he could only serve this with wine. I said I would order wine later and have ordered an (more expensive) apero first and asked if I should change that to a glass of wine to get some water for my family. He then said if I want water for my family I should order a bottle or a carafe of wine!?! I asked him if he could check this since this sounded strange. He left and never came back… After 10 mins we asked another waiter what was going on and she asked again what we wanted to drink. So we ordered the same… She also said we couldn’t get ice water but gave another “rule”. I could only get 1 glass of water per paid consumption. Just to be clear, we’re talking about tap water. I was going to spend a nice amount but they would not want to serve my family some tap water… when explaining this to her she eventually agreed to give us some water… pheeuw…but she added (in Dutch) “als het moet” (if I really have to) obviously from a customer experience standpoint this was not a great start of our dinner but since we were there with young kids we decided to stay. The food was very average (we had their “special” pasta and some pizzas) and it lacked in taste. And when asked about some Tabasco (for the pizzas that where lacking in taste) I was told they would check and (same as before) never got any response… so we left early, without dessert and coffee. This was not a great experience and the worst meal we had in Delft. Sorry, don’t like to do bad reviews but I hope the management will empower their staff to provide a better service (and better food - but that’s maybe a bit more complex).

It had been years since I had eaten at Fontanella. Used to come there regularly. Food still very tasty for a great price. Had a nice conversation with the owner. Fontanella has been in the same place in Delft on the Verwersdijk for 50 years! That says enough! 😀

Excelente place! Fully recommended. It is almost like going to italy. We ordered pasta that was in the suggestions and was amazing. The portions were also good, the service really good; they were really quick and really nice. I will definitely go back

Ideally located on a barge in Delft, simple, efficient and good meal. Very pleasant meal with friends, we let ourselves be soothed by the ducks, the setting…

When you are in Delft you absolutely must dine here. As a previous reviewer already said: close your eyes and you feel you are in Italy. The food is truly authentic and the service unmatched, and it's really affordable. The location is perfect, right in the heart of historic Delft. In fact, everything is perfect!!

Ordered 2 pizzas for a total of €46, well then you should also get a large and good pizza, I think (but not really). A real Italian would be ashamed. In addition, the pizza would be delivered within 45 minutes, well guess what, 2 hours later 👌👍 top service😏, the excuse was that they were busy in the restaurant, uhm, a good pizza baker will have his pizza ready in no time or not. The only positive thing was the delivery person 😂👌. people, take advantage of it, this can't be a real Italian, it doesn't exist and if it is, shame on you. Finally: Too expensive / too small / poor quality.

Sorry, but if you've been waiting an hour and 45 minutes for your food on a Thursday, then you should really be ashamed! The delivery person was a fantastic guy. Will not order pizza from here again, never again! It was also a pretty mediocre pizza for more than 40 euros, not good.

Bad service, not friendly staff. Had to wait a very long time for main courses. By asking why we had to wait so long for our main course, we discovered that there were not enough staff. We could have shown understanding for this if they had reported this in advance. In terms of staff, there was initially 1 new employee and another. I asked for a manager a few times because it took a long time, but he could not come. Towards the end, she finally came. We asked if we could get a few drinks for free as compensation. That was not possible at first, but in the end it was possible. The food itself was okay.

Restaurant La Fontanel is really old-fashioned cozy... you should go there if you fancy pizza or traditional Italian food.

The four of us had a delicious and enjoyable meal here. Lots of choice of pizza and pasta. Nice cozy place near the Grote Markt.

The food was tasty, but not special. Soft drinks more expensive than average, but not shockingly so. Without mentioning it to me or a friend, we paid the energy surcharge afterwards. It's not about the money, but strange that it was charged without mentioning it. Great tent for the rest.

Gisteren via social deals gegeten en het was super! We mochten een voor, hoofd en nagerecht nemen maar het nagerecht paste er niet meer in. Er werd ons ipv het nagerecht koffie of thee aangeboden. Super vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten.

Tolles Restaurant incl einem Kahn in der Gracht, wo auch wir gesessen haben. Sehr nette Bedienung, toller Abend gewesen.

Op warme dagen kun je buiten lekker op de boot eten. Pizza en pasta zijn prima en personeel heel vriendelijk.

Die älteste Pizzeria von Delft hat uns gut gefallen. Wir haben draußen auf dem Kahn in der Gracht gegessen und es hat uns gut geschmeckt. Pizza und Pasta, beides lecker und frisch zubereitet. Dazu ein Heinecken in der untergehenden Abendsonne...super! Der Preis war dem Essen angemessen. Klare Empfehlung!

Een super goede italiaan. Een pizza zoals een pizza bedoeld is. En de pasta is mega vers! Wat was t genieten op de boot in de zon! De bediening is ook echt geweldig vriendelijk. Kortom een aanrader!

Hele lekkere bruschetta, we moesten echt onwijs lang (een uur) wachten tot we na ons voorgerecht het hoofdgerecht kregen. De pizza was niet lekker met een dunne en krokante bodem, we komen hier niet zo snel meer, jammer!
