A cozy restaurant with a spacious courtyard where you can relax. Special requests regarding meals are perfectly accommodated. The staff is friendly and professional. We were served with a smile and a sense of humor. The food was excellent and delicious.

Beautiful location and nice decor. However, the food was a disappointment. A salad with crispy chicken was nothing more than three pieces of marinated chicken with a bag of lettuce, lots of silverskin onions, and three small pieces of tasteless tomato. The sirloin steak was fine, but at 120 grams, it was a lot, and that for €36.50, and you also have to pay extra for fries. A shame.

Had a drink here on the terrace after a walk. Nice place, you are served nicely at the table. I don't know if you are always welcome for just a drink. It is a restaurant, you can tell from everything. Ate here a few times before, it was always fine.

Is a lovely place with good food, it’s a shame that they employ people that just don’t care. Don’t waste your time … go somewhere else for service. I believe that this is at least 50% of the eating experience

Mediocre service, mediocre food. My girlfriend asked if she could get a starter as a main course portion. In the end she got a starter, in a starter portion. My rib-eye was tough and a lot of tendon/muscle. I could leave half of it. The dame blanche was just as mediocre, half melted ice cream and lukewarm chocolate sauce.

Had dinner with my in-laws tonight after my boyfriend passed his exam We thought there was little choice on the menu. I asked if it was possible to get the rib fingers (starter) as a main course and that was possible. In the end I got them as a starter... A bit strange because you would assume that the service would understand what you mean. The rib fingers were also very salty and it was not a BBQ sauce as stated on the menu, but tomato sauce. My boyfriend had the €38 rib eye, half of which was muscle, fat or tendon. In terms of service, they did not ask if we wanted another drink or anything like that For this price we all expected something different

Super bad experience. I took my Irish friend to this restaurant because I had heard good things about it. We arrived around 3:30 pm very hungry because we had not had lunch. First of all, we had to wait a very long time. When we ordered, my friend was not allowed to have schnitzel 'because that is for children' and we got strange looks. There were only other strange things on the menu, such as venison, which we did not feel like eating at that moment. We ordered from the lunch menu, because it was indicated that the lunch kitchen was still open for half an hour. When we got our food, everything was cold. My friend had ordered the club sandwich. This had been ready all afternoon anyway. The bread was soggy, the sauce had already dripped off and the chips that came with it were completely soggy. Super bad experience. We did not even finish our plate. When paying, they did not even talk to us, or even ask how the food tasted. They immediately pushed the ATM under our noses. I then indicated that I was disappointed with the food, to which I only got an 'O' in return. In short: treated very strangely, the food was extremely bad and the staff was not at all customer friendly. I will never come back here. This is not the quality I expect from a restaurant like this.

A big 10 for everything! 😃 Both the service, the entourage and the food! 🥰 I had pork belly, Hans had liver! Really delicious! We just came from Paris and are on our way home but in Paris you have to search really hard for such fantastic food! (for a decent price!) Chapeau!! 🎉👏🏼🥳

Most dishes were tasty. Boar cheek, venison pate and venison brisket are delicious, but if you have stewed pear dishes on the menu, use real stewed pears and not artificially red-colored regular pears. Too bad that 5 out of 7 desserts contain ice cream. The combination of salmon and sauerkraut is not recommended. (strange combination) Too bad that so few vegetables are served with it.

Sat and ate wonderfully on the outdoor terrace. Tables are far enough apart so you don't get bothered by your neighbours.

Tasting of starters contained 4 dishes, of which 1 was the main course. Coincidentally, that is also the one you choose. Poor communication in my opinion. Starter and main course were fine. Dessert "to share" for 2 people was disappointing in terms of taste. Total price/quality not in balance (too high). Furthermore, good service and a great atmosphere.

It was supposed to be a special evening because of our 52nd wedding anniversary. We went for coffee in advance in this restaurant and picked a nice table. Table 117 was to be it. Until we entered the restaurant last night and on our way to the table in question we were confronted with a group of 4 people with no less than three (I repeat 3) large dogs, 2 of which were blocking the passage. Were we in a restaurant or a kennel / animal shelter? It is worth mentioning that I have a fear phobia (trauma) with dogs. Evan sat down, but it became so very uncomfortable. One of the employees apparently noticed that too and offered another table (table 115). Okay, "problem" solved. Well, no. A few minutes later another group came near table 115. And yes, they also had an (even larger) dog with them, who immediately turned his gaze on the other group of dogs and accompanied that with the necessary (frightening) growling. So a kennel/animal shelter instead of a restaurant after all? We tried to approach this last dog owner, but he laughed right in our faces. The same waiter again recognized the problem. So another table (122). We were finally able to eat there. The duck breast was okay but the lamb stew with ras el hanout was disappointing. The spices overpowered the tender meat. Too bad. I made this known to the waiter, who responded with the cliché: "I'll pass it on to the chef." I still have to say that the price of a small bowl of chips is really extreme at Planken Wambuis. No less than 5 euros and that for just one real potato chip. When leaving the restaurant we were asked the (standard) question whether everything had been to our liking. No (had we been to a restaurant or to a dog kennel?) and the cashier on duty stated that there are many customers who first go for a walk in the forest and then come to eat. In other words. it should be possible. Now, because they didn't think so. Put customers with dogs outside on the adjacent terrace when the weather is good. In short: this visit is not for us to repeat. Incomprehensible that such a restaurant allows dogs. Or does the proverb apply here: the cost comes before the profit?

Despite the fact that we had a very nice meal, we were really not happy with the service this time. (Young) ladies who really only came to take orders and put food on the table. Please or enjoy your meal we did not hear the whole evening. We were addressed with you and you and cutlery was placed on the table in front of the other. There also appeared to be a (delicious) asparagus menu. By chance we saw the menu on the table, we were not made aware of it. There was also no extra explanation about e.g. the soup of the day. This really disappointed all three of us. Fortunately the kitchen brigade made up for a lot.

Business meetings had to be held. So off to the Planken Wambuis in Ede, or near Ede. It looks nice, right by the forest. Plenty of parking spaces and inside. It's the end of lunch and busy. We have a table in the salon with a view of the garden. Coffee and spa and the Vitello and the Carpacio. The difference in quantity is striking: the Carpacio is a large plate and the Vitello on the lean side. The Vitello is Teriyaki style. Mwoah, don't do it. Veal is naturally sweet and so is the Teriyaki. Apparently the kitchen got it wrong because the sauce has no taste or body. Sweet on sweet. Ville Tonato would have been much better. The service is nice and quick, but chaotic; we had ordered wine and blond beer and not two wines and our plates came by twice before they were on our table. And the fact that it is boiling hot in the salon went unnoticed for a long time. Toilets a mess, while lunch was long over at that point. We'll gladly come back because a pearl in the forest, just a bit more effort, people.

The 2 stars are earned by the waiting staff and the coffee. Had lunch. Salmon salad was way too sweet, salmon barely tasted. And the hot meat bread also had a bland taste. Even the satay sauce was bad and tasteless.

Went today during a bike ride. What a grumpy staff. First you have to wait 10 minutes on the terrace while the waiter just walks by countless times and doesn't even ask if you want to order something. No thank you is said at checkout, no, the receipt is simply placed on the counter without a word. And then they think it's strange that we don't tip. To us they were just a bunch of disinterested people.

Ended up here by chance. Not reserved and I was alone. No problem, they found a place. Due to stomach reduction I couldn't eat everything. I was neatly given the other half. So enjoyed it again the next day.

Due to the incessant crowds, we were allowed to sit at the very top this time, as they forgot to decorate it. If you want boring and low-stimulus dining, this is a good place. They also visit there less often. Eating is in large quantities, not frugality, but also not refinement. Relatively expensive, but that is possible, they have a monopoly in terms of space and enough customers. The location is most brilliant.

Today we had dinner at restaurant Planken Wambuis. Although I won't go for a pork tomahawk again next time, I still enjoyed the food. The Oreo cheesecake in particular was very tasty. Unfortunately, we had a waiter at the table twice with the wrong food or someone else's food. What turns out afterwards? Did they also add an extra dish to the bill? Unfortunately, that is not what you expect from such a beautiful restaurant. They also did not answer the phone all evening (from 4:45 PM to 8:30 PM). Eventually got the money back.

Well located restaurant, beautiful in the woods near the Planken Wambuis nature reserve. Don't expect culinary delights, but the food is just good and the service is fine. When you make a reservation, ask for a spot at the front of the restaurant. In the rear part the atmosphere is less pleasant.

The four of us had dinner tonight. We had the game stock soup as a starter and unfortunately it was not appreciated due to its bitter taste. Kindly indicated and was then neatly exchanged, the rest of the food was fine. We were not satisfied with the service and hospitality is hard to find. Unfortunately, my wife received sea bream on the raw side, even though it was already known in advance that she was pregnant. We kindly handed it over again and asked for it to be well done. The girl who helped us immediately made a grumpy face and took the plate without saying anything. I also paid for the main course at the cash register, so that we could treat the group. The same girl came while clearing the table and said to us. I don't think you need any more dessert, because you have already paid. My wife was also still eating and had already come to clear everything away. Also not asked if everything was to your liking, no excuses and goodbye. All in all, the service mainly made an impact this evening. We won't be back.

In a beautiful location in the forest and at the same time close to the busy A12. Menu filled with game and also some “normal” meat. Must be to your taste. In any case, it is well prepared. Beautiful large garden + terrace

Delicious dishes and beautifully served. Good staff 👍 Parking is a problem, even in the 2nd parking lot. There is a shortage of toilets for the capacity of the restaurant. Unfortunately, the toilets are not properly maintained. It is also true that walkers (not restaurant guests) use the toilets (well, of course there is little you can do about that) but this increases the problem…. The challenge would be to also make the toilets tip top.

Beautiful location, in the middle of nature, easily accessible and warmly decorated. Reasonably friendly service. Food fine and nothing wrong with it, but certainly not special, especially in relation to the price. The glasses of wine that were poured far too sparingly (well below the engraved logo) gave us a sparse and not really hospitable feeling. All in all a beautiful place and in principle nothing really wrong with it. But all in all just not. We left with mixed feelings.

A very nice place to dine and my partner got a small portion of soup because I had soup beforehand.

Last Saturday evening we had dinner in this warm, cozy, but certainly not small restaurant. Private parking is nice. Nice menu with good game dishes and everything was well seasoned. The restaurant was quite full, but the staff served everyone properly. Nice place to eat for game lovers. Can be easily combined with a heath walk during the day.

Have been coming here for years with good food and a cozy atmosphere. Located right along a mountain bike route, so very nice as a final stop or stopover or simply if you are near Arnhem. Recommended

Delicious food. Service, on the other hand, was downright bad. Serve double drinks. And say something kindly about it, then don't serve the dessert to that person, but add it to the bill. No point made. We are not going to ruin the evening of the birthday boy among us. So we simply paid for what was not served. Not expected from this restaurant. I wonder if there will be any response... Neatly called by the owner and apologies accepted. You also recognize a good restaurant in how they deal with complaints. Well handled.

Delicious food in a cozy environment

Had lunch here on Christmas Day. Despite the crowds, friendly staff and delicious food. Waiting times between dishes were just right.

Dumbfounded that our dog was not allowed inside during Christmas. It is not indicated anywhere (website, door), not communicated on the telephone with reservations and there is a "dogs welcome" sticker on the door. Too ridiculous for words that your dog can always come along, especially if you are not from the area and you can still enjoy a nice walk around the restaurant. Except at Christmas. Not to mention how this is handled when you have this discussion. A reason for us not to come here anymore.

Made a reservation for lunch with the family for Christmas with 18 people, partly because dogs are always welcome here. These days it is difficult to leave your four-legged friend at home alone all day, especially when the family lives a little further away (we came from Den Bosch.) Upon arrival we were informed that dogs were not welcome during the holidays. Not reported when booking, nothing on the website, and the large "dogs welcome sticker" on the front door. No exceptions, no excuses for the lack of communication, no solutions possible. We couldn't get in with the dog. Together with several other dog owners, we stood completely stunned in the hall, where the dogs were waiting quietly without bothering anyone. They should just wait in the car... Maybe not yet! Too bad, last time.

The food was really delicious. The taste of wild meat in combination with fresh and slowly cooked vegetables was really fantastic. The wild tortelini soup with mushrooms make you feel like you are in nature. I love it. I really recomand it to try it.
