Pllek in Noordelijke IJ-oevers West

Had a great time in this alternative venue, plenty of space, good music, a beautiful view and good food.

The day before yesterday, we went out to Swiss with two friends. Three Angus burgers were served within six minutes. Bone dry and overcooked, I think they must have been cooked by a trainee back in the afternoon. A tiny teaspoon of onion compote; what a disappointment. Normally I would send this back, but we were on our way to Schiphol. We paid €100.00, along with three soft drinks and two desserts, and were on our way again within 35 minutes. Worthless, and it doesn't have to be like that.

I didn't find any of the dishes that I tried good, but the place is great, and the staff, even with so many people, was super amazing. That said, I would go back if my colleagues want to go and I'd order a basic dish or fries.

Great spot..but took too long to get a drink, id still go back and hopefully it would be better next time.

Hamburger was cooked on the outside, raw on the inside. Server was friendly but had to chase down 3 different staff members, waiting almost 10 minutes, before trying to pay and leave.

Stopped by Pllek for a beer and really enjoyed how easy the whole experience was. Taking the ferry over to Amsterdam Noord was simple, and getting out by the water made it feel like a nice escape from the busier parts of central Amsterdam. I grabbed a beer and relaxed outside with a great view across the IJ. The laid-back waterfront setup gives Pllek a completely different atmosphere from the traditional brown cafés and bars in the center. Definitely worth taking the ferry over if you want a casual beer by the water and a different side of Amsterdam.

Great food! The haddock was really very good. At first, I thought the price was very high, but the quality was so high that I definitely think it's worth it. The service was nice; the staff kept moving but were sometimes a bit chaotic. But this was just a comment about the restaurant. Outside, there is a super cozy beach that overlooks the water beautifully. You can sit on beanbags, pallets, or lounge chairs. I would definitely come back here again.

Amazing place in The Noord area. Great terrace , funky inside. Great beers on tap. Very cool and friendly staff. Food was imaginative and reasonable but 4/5 for me.

We went to Pllek to celebrate a friend’s birthday on the same day as the Netherlands soccer match, so the place was packed. The atmosphere was amazing! They have a great outdoor area with a big screen, which made it a perfect spot to watch the game. Considering how busy it was, we expected long waits for food and drinks, but the service was surprisingly efficient. Everything we ordered arrived without any issues. The beer was ice cold (which is honestly a rare and very welcome surprise in Europe!), and the burgers were absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, and excellent service, even on one of their busiest days. We’ll definitely be back!

There were six of us celebrating my birthday on a busy summer Saturday evening. We had reserved in advance, but that is only possible indoors. So, earlier that evening, just the two of us went to check out the terrace. There wasn't a single chair, bench, or cushion available. But after peering around at the bar with our ordered drinks, we managed to find a spot on two sunbeds. Eventually, exactly at the time reserved for inside, a spacious picnic table became available. Plenty of room for six people. We were allowed to swap this for the reserved table inside. That was arranged super quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After two dishes from a table next to us were accidentally served to us shortly after we were all six and had ordered food, we still had to wait a very long time for our own dishes. After about an hour, we finally received some bread with oil to eat because we were getting quite hungry. Right after that, the dishes arrived at the table and we had a good meal. A vegan request was taken into account. Fortunately, the desserts arrived sooner and were delicious. Despite the crowds, the staff (and the chefs too) did their absolute best to make it a fantastic evening. You need to be patient, because it is very large and busy in good weather. But besides the pleasant atmosphere and good service, it is still a top location.

What a great surprise experience at Pllek - fab atmosphere, friendly fun team and delish food! We were not planning to eat here but it was a good decision to do - will be back again soon - outside terrace is huge !

Pllek is a cozy and friendly place to eat or drink. You can sit inside or outside. The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. Still a nice and cozy place.

Super delicious place. The food was extremely good. We tried both the vegan dish, the angus burger, the steak and the haddock (Haddock). Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was very much like Refshaleøen in Copenhagen with a street art vibe. The area is also covered in graffiti in several places in an artistic way, with the street art and graffiti museum right nearby. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Amsterdam, perhaps as friends, a couple or with adults/big children. Very cozy.

A spacious bohemian place to hang out, but my food experience left me cold. Six small winglets (not even drumettes) cost €9, a dollop of hummus with pita pieces costs you €10, and the €21 burger was gristly, overcooked and took 40 mins to arrive. Skip the food, just have drinks.

I have eaten a lot of bad food before. The food here is probably in top 5 of the worst. Overpriced and blant food. Probably would never go back again.

The place is nice but pricey, drinks too, but okay, this is inflation-ridden land. But when I look at the menu, most of it looks like overpriced vegetarian rabbit food.

Dont come here . Waitereses harrasses you every 5 minutes to ask if you want to eat anything else . I said no, her face just turns to a bad mood eventhough you are drinking beers at that time . That means eat or go away .

Incredibly bad experience. Long wait times for drinks were the least of the problems; safety was nowhere to be found here. We asked security for help multiple times regarding the situation with fans on the upper floor, but absolutely nothing was done about it. Items from the bar itself were thrown down from the upper floor. As a result, a friend got glass in her face, and another friend and I had a plastic container and multiple pitchers thrown at our heads. Naturally, emotions run high in such situations, but instead of intervening against the perpetrators, my friend, who was fully emotional after getting a pitcher in the face at 'Mach 3', was roughly thrown out of the venue. That was when things really escalated. The location is amazing, but this lack of enforcement and blaming the victim truly crosses all boundaries. A scandalous turn of events for the evening.

If you want to experience a different vibe in Amsterdam, be sure to visit. During the day, you'll enjoy delicious food, including traditional dishes, and in the evening, you'll relax and enjoy the beautiful views. I think this post-industrial use of space is fantastic! There's also a free F4 ferry nearby to the center of Amsterdam, which takes about 10 minutes, and it's also worth taking the ferry to see the sunset, even if only for a short ride. It was a fantastic experience for me.

A unique spot with excellent service. We ordered a burger and it was delicious. Highly recommended on the canal bank.

Great atmosphere. Noted in this heat wave that the interior is extremely well cooled and a literal breath of fresh air! Plentiful shaded seating on the waterfront. Lovely staff.

The food is top quality, considering the crowds they have to serve. It is incredibly busy and very noisy. Not my favorite place. I was invited, but I wouldn't choose to eat here myself. The food is very good, though. How they manage that is a mystery to me. Very impressive.

They don't accept cash payments, waste of time

Totally disappointed, we came on the recommendation of friends, but bar didn't accept cash. The waiter said it was okay to pay at the bar, but the bartenders refused to sell.

Waiting in line for 30 minutes for a beer should be done differently. Very cozy though.

This place was always serious about sustainability and responsible food, but now they admit themselves that this is less of a priority and that this vision "no longer aligns with their new menu." Truly disappointing, and incomprehensible to make the conscious choice to throw this overboard in these times. I used to enjoy coming here, but fortunately there are many other places in Amsterdam that don't just pretend to care about ethics and sustainability.

The place is super cool, it has a huge terrace, and it's ideal to go when the weather is nice. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can also have cocktails/beer. We went for breakfast and we don't think the food is their strongest point, but it's still good and the place is very cool.

Cool local joint, considering no local people or joints anywhere in Amsterdam, good to come to a local cafe. There is a beach.

Catered for the food allergies of a member of our party in a very friendly and helpful manner. The food was delicious, especially the bavette (highly recommended) and lovely drinks too! Very very polite and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again!

The atmosphere was nice and the view from the window was beautiful. However, the burgers were very disappointing. The meat was undercooked and almost raw inside, making it impossible to eat. After the meal, two people felt sick. Unfortunately, despite the nice atmosphere, we cannot recommend this place because of the food quality.

The food was overall good, the service was great, the staff were attentive and friendly and the view from outdoor was amazing. Great spot for some drinks and a quick bite.

One of my favorite restaurants, it has great style, a good vibe, delicious food, and lots of events to enjoy, from outdoor movies to yoga. The beach is beautiful for relaxing and taking photos.

Had been there 2 times over 3 years and its one of the best places to go for the dinner in Amsterdam. Food is nothing to dies for but the atmosphere makes up for it. Especially if you are a tourist and want to the northern part

Nice spot with a small pebble beach; you can't go into the water here, but it's a pleasant place to spend time, with plenty of shade. Friendly staff and good food.

When you leave the city center, the food gets much better. Nice terrace area. And the sun was shining...

We waited HALF AN HOUR for a CHEESCAKE then we didn’t want to wait any longer so we paid and left. Everything was really expensive but the view and the staff was nice

We had a quick lunch at Pllek in Amsterdam Noord. The food was okay overall, nothing particularly memorable but decent enough for a casual bite. Service was a bit slow and felt somewhat impersonal, especially considering it wasn’t extremely busy when we visited. That said, the atmosphere is definitely the strong point here. The place has a vibrant, laid-back vibe, and the views over the river are fantastic, especially on a nice day. It’s a pleasant spot to sit, relax, and enjoy the NDSM surroundings. Overall, a decent option for a quick snack or drink if you’re in the area, mainly thanks to the atmosphere and location rather than the food itself.

Very nice place at the waterfront, but don’t order food. The bean burger as well as the fries were cold. Cold fries ugggh I told the waiter, 30 seconds later he brought back the fries now semi-cold. Brrr And who likes an almost frozen ‘broodje’ with a cold burgerlike patty … Me not. Have a drink and enjoy the view! Update: Pllek management did reply very well. I’ll taste soon the updated bean burger.

Absolutely loved our visit to Pllek in North Amsterdam. The atmosphere here is something special, relaxed, stylish and full of character with incredible waterfront views that make you want to stay for hours. The service was genuinely out of this world; friendly, attentive and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Every member of staff made us feel looked after without it ever feeling forced. The food was superb as well, beautifully presented, full of flavour and clearly made with care. From the drinks to the desserts, everything exceeded expectations. One of those rare places where the vibe, service and food all come together perfectly. Easily one of the highlights of Amsterdam and somewhere I’d return to without hesitation.

The staff is full of themselves and do not serve you well. We waited for a long time but nobody comes to serve you. Happened not once but more often , so finally compelled to leave this review for their management to take note.

This was honestly one of the worst café experiences I’ve ever had. The prices are completely absurd: €5 for a cappuccino that arrived cold, and €8 for ONE (1) single slice of bread with two slices of cheese on it! Pure insanity for what was served. But the service was even worse. The waitress came to our table carrying multiple coffees, noticed that one cappuccino on the tray was overflowing, and literally drank from the cup in front of us before serving the rest of the drinks. I genuinely could not believe what I was watching. Orders were also painfully slow and completely disorganized. We were brought an extra portion of fries that nobody had ordered. We pointed it out immediately, yet it was still added to the bill and charged anyway. To make things even more disappointing, we specifically went there because activities for children were advertised to start at 1 PM. We stayed until 2 PM, and not only had the activities not started yet, but it honestly seemed like they were never going to happen at all. Overpriced, unprofessional, chaotic, and frankly embarrassing. Absolutely not recommended.

Every server was very friendly but completely overwhelmed. Our food took a long time and came out cold. Also not being able to just order large beers made more work for the servers who already didn’t have enough time to come by the table for new drink orders.

Another visit. This time on a Saturday afternoon in May. The service was friendly and efficient. The vegetarian burger was good. However, my companions reported that the Angus burgers were rather tasteless... and the drinks selection was quite limited. For this reason, fewer stars this time. ________ Nice beach bar in the north! Outside, you can either have table service or quickly order at the bar yourself. Inside, it's best to reserve in advance via the website.

We went out for dinner here (6 people) for my sister's birthday. The place itself is, of course, very unique. Unfortunately, there is little good to say. There was too little staff, and the service that was there was extremely poor. They kept forgetting our drinks or only brought half of them. As a result, we had to keep asking where the drinks were, and everyone got their order at a different time. They only reacted if you managed to stop them and ignored our stares. On two occasions, we had to wait longer than 20 minutes only to find out that they hadn't rung up the drinks again. It wasn't really busy either, and by the end, we were the only dinner table left, yet we were forgotten even then. It is clear that the staff only looks at the computer and makes a lot of mistakes/is slow. The most annoying thing was that when we asked for water, we heard "oh yes, you can get that yourself over there," and he pointed somewhere far away to a bar. And that when we received our food, it didn't arrive at the same time, and half the table had to wait to start. When we asked about it again and managed to stop someone, we heard, “Yes, you have to ask that one with the scanner.” Also, we didn't receive the accompanying drinks with the dishes (or they had forgotten half of them again). The food was nicely presented but was completely cold (really every single dish). Good tender meat but little flavor. The desserts were not very tasty, and even then we had to wait another 15 minutes before we received our matching dessert wine. They had forgotten that someone was gluten-free (although mentioned beforehand), and the person serving had a very old sweaty smell that wasn't exactly conducive to the appetite. One star for the location and one star for the quality of the meat (although the food was cold).

why the trashy service? It's time for the managers of this place to start training their employees on giving polite and kind service.

An incredibly beautiful place with a fantastic view! The food was amazing. With a DJ and everything. A real recommendation! You need to allow some time, but that wasn't a problem for us.

The location by the water is great, but unfortunately, we didn't find the service today to be great. We also received an apple pie with mold, although we did eventually get a cheesecake on the house. These are minor points that could easily be improved.

Amazing location and great food !

The place is certainly worth 5 stars and the staff is friendly and does their best. But for the dishes we ordered, I find the price-quality ratio really out of balance. A simple sandwich for the children with chocolate and strawberries costs €8. And on the nachos (€15) there were a few drops of salsa, crème fraîche, and a tablespoon of guacamole. This really could have been a bit more elaborate for that price. It's a shame, because for me, that detracts from the overall experience. Hopefully, better luck next time.

Very good atmosphere, service could improve

Only nipped in for a quick bite and drink. Excellent service and food.

Paying 4 euros for a small beer on King's Day? Okay, fine. Having to pay 1 euro for a cup? Also fine. Familiar with the deposit system; better for the environment. But then what? You don't get that euro back. They say it's the cleaning costs. The nerve! As if you normally have to pay extra for cleaning your glass? That's already included in that ridiculous beer price. So, 5 euros for a minuscule beer. And even though you've already spent 50 euros on an overpriced hamburger, 6 bitterballen, and 15 portions of fries, you still have to shell out another euro for a pee. Calculate your profit.

Tasty food and nice atmosphere, but the service could be better. It took a very long time before someone came to take our order and to connect with the staff, who walked right past us several times without making any eye contact. And when we finally got someone, this staff member couldn't take our order and said they would get a colleague, but they never came... we ended up having to approach someone ourselves again to place our order. The food was very good though, and we had a nice evening.

Unfortunately I was so excited to try this spot in Noord. The ambience was great but unfortunately was super disappointed. After 1.5 hours and asking for water 3 times we were only served 1 round of drinks and our appetizer of olives. Once our food came, my steak was super fatty and chewy leaving me still hungry.

An incredible spot at the end of the day in the sun, with a view of Amsterdam on the other side of the IJ. A great place to go for a beer or something else!

Lovely place. My little daughter loved it. The menu is very small, that was a real disappointment. I wouldn't go here for a nice lunch or dinner, but only for the location. Having a drink is fine.

If you don’t speak Dutch the waiter are so rude. I just asked where I could get the wine from ( from a waiter who was standing inside in front of the cashier ) and he responded but so aggressively and ironically. I wouldn’t take the time to write this review if the experience wasn’t as horrible.

Amazing "beach vibe" bar in North Amsterdam. Get the free ferry from behind Central Station and its a very quick walk. Really great indoor and outdoor seating. Amazing in the sunny weather. Worth the slight extra effort for a visit

Really solid spot to vibe out at. The outdoor seating area facing the river is absolutely gorgeous. The food was also great. Options are a little bit limited but would recommend the Angus burger and the beef butterballs. The balls could have a little more beef to them and the serving size left a bit to be desired. Loved the atmosphere, wait times can be a bit long when it gets busy.

Great location in Amsterdam North, easily accessible via the free ferry to the NDSM shipyard. Relaxed atmosphere, fair prices, fantastic waterfront location, deck chairs available, and very nice interior design. Highly recommended, situated amidst shipping containers and artists' studios.

We really liked the place and the location, it has a great atmosphere and a lot of potential. However, the service could be improved. It took about 15 minutes to receive two beers, and the staff seemed unsure about the menu, as they couldn’t answer some basic questions about the beer selection. After that, we decided not to order food and asked for the bill, but after waiting another 15 minutes, we ended up going to the cashier to pay ourselves. Overall, it’s a very nice spot, but improving service speed and staff familiarity with the menu would make a big difference to the experience.
