Great place, ate delicious poffertjes for a super price. €6 and you get a full plate. Service is also very fast and the location is, of course, fantastic. Definitely recommended.

We ate delicious waffles and poffertjes here on May 23rd. We went cycling in the region, and upon arrival, we had waffles with a good cappuccino and a glass of tea with plenty of mint. The waffles are very thin on the inside and nice and crispy. The taste was deliciously sweet. Although it was tasty, I found the price a bit on the high side. You do get two, but you are eating a lot of air. Nevertheless, for something tasty with coffee, it was good. After cycling 40km, we ate another portion of poffertjes there, and these were delicious too! Just the right amount of butter and powdered sugar on them. And the service outside is friendly, also funny with that shouting through the place. We didn't reserve, and luckily there was space both times: once inside and once outside. So if you are in the area, definitely stop by to feast on it.

Nostalgic place. Grew up with it. The staff is the kind you don't find anymore. Hard workers and good at mental arithmetic. It's nice that you can also pay by card in recent years. The poffertjes have declined a bit in terms of taste and presentation, though. You do pay a hefty price for them.

The cozy interior, with alcoves where you can sit 'privately' with 6 to 8 people, is a real treat, especially for children! A large, inviting outdoor terrace decorated with bamboo plants gives the authentic stall a welcoming appearance. You can enjoy the stall from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

We go here for poffertjes out of tradition. But it was disappointing this time. The poffertjes taste somewhat burnt, while the inside doesn't seem to be fully cooked. The staff are eating in the restaurant and do not have the best table manners. Ordering something is sometimes difficult; we have to wait a long time for a waiter to see us (it wasn't very busy). The waiter was, however, very cheerful and attentive when we did manage to get hold of him.

They are still the tastiest poffertjes and waffles, and it is a joy to return. Time seems to have stood still in everything when, after ordering, "FOUR TIMES, TWO HOLLANDS" echoes through the stall😋

What a nostalgic place this is! I've been coming here since I was a kid; seriously, the best poffertjes I've ever eaten🫠. You can also order waffles there, which are very tasty too. You can order your food from a waiter who then calls out your order—so funny—and somehow it always works out. I wonder how they remember that. They could get 6 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. But yeah, unfortunately, that's not possible. Highly recommended👍

What can you say about this place? Good old-fashioned poffertjes (small pancakes) and waffles. A household name in Laren (and the surrounding area). Located on the village green...under the trees...overlooking St. John's Basilica and all its former outbuildings. And you can look straight into the beautiful village, where there's plenty to see too 😉. All in all, highly recommended for a delicious treat.

World-class! Anyone visiting the area absolutely must try it. You can watch your dessert being prepared right in front of you.

The taste was good, but we got one portion without sugar, and the presentation is awful. When it's busy, it's like, "My colleague will be there soon and look the other way as they pass by." Unfortunately, we had to wait a full 30 minutes for our poffertjes. Several people came in after us and had theirs first. The server kept repeating our order as he passed us but didn't bring anything. Then another server loudly questioned whether our table's order had gone through correctly. Shortly after, our order arrived.

Very authentic poffertjesplace, beautifully situated in the center of Laren. Always lively and busy. The quality of the poffertjes is pretty mediocre however. Burned edges while still uncooked inside is not uncommon, unfortunately.

Normally it is nice to be here. Good food and the younger waiters give excellent service. Until I came with my grandson alone, and not with the whole family. Then yesterday I got an older waiter, who simply ignored us. I was still able to order, but then we had to wait a very long time for our order. And the man was delivering all the orders to people who came in much later than us and had ordered. And there you are with a small child of 4 years old, who is looking forward to pancakes. When I walked up to him and told him this, I got the answer: yes, your pancakes will be here in 10 minutes. And we had been waiting for at least half an hour, while everyone was helped within 15 minutes. So watch out where the waiters are walking and choose a spot with a young waiter. THE NEXT: After I posted the above, I got a reply from the owner, who apologized and offered a voucher for a new try with my grandson. I thought that was very nice, and today we went there again. It was very warm and it was not busy. I did not have the receipt with me, and did not mention it. But what a difference! We were helped again, as usual, very friendly and attentive. During dinner my grandson had to go to the toilet, we had not finished our mini pancakes. Because I did not want to leave my handbag, I left my grandson's cap on the table when we went to the toilet. Now that takes a while with such a little one, and who can imagine our surprise when we came back: our entire table was empty! We reported this to the waiter and new mini pancakes were immediately brought for us. The lady who was cleaning told us that the cap was in the kitchen, a diligent employee had thought we had already left and had cleared the place. When we were already sitting at the table with cap and new mini pancakes, the person who had cleared the table came to apologize. So this was the great service I was used to. Thank you very much!

Mine wife and I visited for the first time Laren at the same day the st Jan's church celebrated there 100 anniversary wich made it an excellent moment to eat poffertjes by de Haan which only a couple of steps away. The poffertjes aswell waffles were of top quality, aswell the service and atmosphere. The waiter after us asking for the bill did the accounting in a speedy by head over at least 12 items faster than many people on a calculator. The place is highly recommended on all aspects.

Bonus tip: if you don’t drink alcohol, stick with the original—some of the toppings come with a boozy twist. This place proves you don’t need rum flambé to feel the love. I went on 4/26 Kings Day. It was crowded as it was in a corner of the park, but I was able to find a seat at the right time. The rectangular pieces served with Belgian whipped cream had a crunchy texture and I devoured them in no time. Anyway, it was light and delicious. The round ones are called pancakes in the Netherlands, with plenty of powdered sugar and extra fresh cream. There's quite a lot on one plate. I think the sugar is too sweet, but I can still eat it. It was great with coffee. *It is better to check the business days before going.

Usually quite busy but with super good poffertjes.

We have been coming here for years as a family tradition. We arrived just before opening time and saw almost all staff members (!) smoking inside. We sat down, but were moved because they were also smoking heavily in the cage behind us. Not nice if you are pregnant and/or have children with you. Inside there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, incomprehensible in this day and age. I wouldn't come back here anytime soon for this reason.

Been a few times. Nice tent, pretty good service even if it is done in a way that would make Indians scratch their heads with smoke signals. Anyway, now for the poffertjes. Poffertjes VERY salty and way too expensive. It was already expensive, but now you pay more than 5 euros for a portion!! next year 6 euros? Understand capitalism, but I can already see that that barn has become emptier compared to last year.

What a strange situation at this poffertjes stall that has gotten out of hand. Apparently everything has to be memorized and then they are called to the bar in a tone that gave me the creeps. Poffertjes were okay, but nothing special for 5 euros per portion of 10. We left quickly.

Delicious poffertjes with an almost savory taste. Large portions and well cooked. No soggy bite. Definitely worth the money! The Dutch waffles are also very tasty and crunchy variety. You don't see that very often. Too bad they only had the tent there for a relatively short time. We will definitely go there again next season.
