We had an absolutely delicious meal! From oysters, carpaccio, and dim sum to tournedos, rack of lamb, and delicious duck pancakes. We tried everything from the menu and everything was truly top quality! 😍 We were served by Jay, who made our evening complete. Super friendly and hospitable! It is genuinely a very fun and cozy concept! You order one dish per round by placing the menu upright on the table. This allows you to try different dishes and take your time deciding what you're in the mood for. We really enjoyed dining this way, as you can order and share a variety of things. The food was of really high quality, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The oysters, tournedos, and lamb chops were our absolute favorites. The flavors were good, and the portions are ideal for trying different dishes. Additionally, there is a cozy atmosphere in the restaurant, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The service felt personal and relaxed, which meant we had a really nice evening. All in all, we highly recommend Ponzu if you want to enjoy a delicious and cozy meal and like trying out different dishes. We will definitely be back here again!

We had a truly fantastic evening at Ponzu! The food was incredibly tasty and looked beautiful on the plate as well. Everything was very well presented, and you could tell that real attention had been paid to the dishes. The staff was also truly fantastic. We were served in a super friendly manner and felt welcome immediately. While ordering, he mentioned that one of the sushi rolls we had chosen was also his favorite. Later, he came over for a friendly chat and asked if the sushi roll had tasted good. He also asked which of the two wines we liked best. It was really nice to have such personal contact; it made the evening extra enjoyable. The atmosphere was also very pleasant and relaxed. All in all, we had a truly great evening at Ponzu. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back here again!

What a wonderful evening I had at Ponzu in Utrecht. The atmosphere was just right from the moment we walked in. Everything was spot on, from the lighting with the warm candles on the table to the presentation of the dishes. I was particularly impressed by the fresh oysters. They were truly fantastic and were served with a beautiful vinaigrette containing onions. The rest of the dishes were also beautifully presented. We will definitely be back here soon.

I ate here with girlfriends last week. We enjoyed ourselves so much, from the delicious food and drinks to the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. This is an all-you-can-eat concept, but you order one dish per person, per round. However, that goes quickly enough and you don't have to wait too long for the next course. Everything was delicious; the mussels were fresh, and the sushi and hot dishes were delicious too. Highly recommended; we will definitely be back.

I would say just go eat a 3-4 course dinner at a regular restaurant!!! Check what that costs and if every dish would be 100% perfect and if you wouldn't end up spending more than € 70 PP. I see some comments that want to see this concept in a greasy spoon !! 😂😂 Every dish is a standard A'La Carte dish in starter form and that for €40 unlimited !! The location is great; it is right in the center of Utrecht. They have various types of sushi and other dishes. We enjoyed the meal. However, the service and friendliness of a specific employee left much to be desired. This employee spoke English immediately, showed no willingness to adapt, and forgot the Kikkoman sauce. Moreover, he caused considerable noise while clearing the table, and his attitude was perceived as unsympathetic, particularly when my dining companion ordered a dish while I was absent. When I subsequently wanted to place my order, he indicated in English that this was not possible and that I had to wait for the next round of orders. I found this completely unacceptable and unfriendly. Fortunately, we were also served by another, very hospitable employee who knew exactly how to deal with guests. It is uncertain whether I will visit this location again.

Had a lovely date night with my partner here last night! The atmosphere and interior were super cozy, and we left very happy and satisfied with the food and service! The food, unlike most ACYE, was most certainly worth the price - everything was incredibly fresh, delicious, beautifully presented and also perfectly portioned like a true fine-dining experience. Our servers, Nino and Wen-Qi made our experience here even more enjoyable with their charm and their genuine sincerity in the service to make sure we were taken care of throughout the experience. Excited to say that we may have just found our new favourite place to go for a nice treat. Highly recommend this place! 🫶🏻

Truly on a different level than the other all-you-can-eat places in town. We thought the whole concept of one dish at a time and not ordering via a tablet or QR code was really nice!! The service was quick at our table and the dishes arrived fast and were incredibly flavorful! Portions were larger than expected too. The sushi was super tasty as well! Really nice if you want something different from the standard all-you-can-eat sushi or something along those lines.

We had a really successful girls' night out here! The atmosphere is very nice and the decor is cozy, truly perfect for a night out with girlfriends. The food was also really top-notch. The carpaccio sushi and the beef tataki were especially delicious; everything tasted very fresh. What really made the evening fun, by the way, was our host Nino! He was really super funny and fun; we had a good laugh with him! A very nice vibe!! As a small point of criticism: we really had to wait a bit for our drinks at the beginning, which took a little while. And the curry was tasty, but we would have liked it to be a bit spicier; it was a bit mild (the same goes for the wasabi...). But otherwise, highly recommended, and we will definitely be back again!

Yesterday, my husband and I visited this restaurant for the first and immediately last time. The general impression is that you get cheap "bites" on a plate here, but for the price of full-fledged dishes. * + 1 star for the beautiful presentation of the dishes * + 1 star for the pleasant interior — 1 star for the FOOD: Unfortunately, not a single one of the 5 dishes was truly tasty (the portions are also microscopically small). There are at most 5 to 6 tablespoons in a bowl of soup. In my soup, "lobster" was just a word on the menu. The truffle soup – tasted like instant soup from a packet. Spring rolls – 3 small rolls with dry, unpleasant rice noodles and a vague taste on the inside as well – a major disappointment. Gyoza – looked nice on the outside, but was half raw on the inside. Dim sum – 4 pieces – with a downright disgusting pork filling. Wasabi – not spicy at all (probably a problem with the powder). — 1 star for the SERVICE: Our order was mixed up and we were even blamed for it. For a party of 4 people, we received only 1 “portion” of wasabi. We asked for extra wasabi – it didn't come. We asked for ginger – that wasn't brought at all. — 1 star off for the “vibe” – it felt tense and the people around us didn't seem happy to be there. We were tired and didn't have the energy to discuss this with the manager. I don't understand why my husband paid 100 euros for all of this! We left the restaurant just as hungry as we entered, but also frustrated, and went to another restaurant afterwards.

Good afternoon! We visited your restaurant yesterday and, honestly, I haven't experienced anything so terrible in the Netherlands in a long time. It started with the portions and ended with a long wait. We ordered a shrimp salad, but in the end, we only received four shrimp on our plate and three inedible leaves as a side dish. The second dish, gyoza, was half raw. We also ordered two portions of sushi, but for some reason, they were served on the same plate. And that is not even mentioning the horror we felt when we had to eat from the same plate. Our friends ordered two types of soup: one with lobster (we ended up getting soup with three small shrimp; we still don't understand why it is called lobster soup) and one with mushrooms and truffles. In the end, we received two lobster soups. When we complained that we had ordered the wrong thing, they reacted unfriendly, and the waiter, who looked European, claimed that we had ordered the wrong thing. We also ordered a dim sum platter, but the pork was completely raw. The last dish was advertised with four spring rolls, but there were only three on the plate. Furthermore, I do not understand why they told us we were not allowed to drink regular tap water, but only water from glass bottles (I have never experienced this in the four years I have lived in the Netherlands). We were not just hungry; it felt like we hadn't eaten anything at all, despite the 100 euro bill. There are plenty of other places where you can eat for 100 euros and still feel full. It would be better if you mentioned that you offer molecular gastronomy, otherwise I cannot explain such meager portions. I am giving only one star for the very nice Asian waiter; he was very friendly and tried to resolve the situation with respect, kindness, and patience.

This is definitely worth a visit, a real winner. All the dishes we had were top-notch. The mocktails and the dessert were also super tasty. The staff was friendly. Kudos to the young man who served us. It is also a nice system with the rounds and well organized, served quickly.

Their concept is an all you can eat, Asian “fine dining”. There are sushi options, and multiple other, mostly Eastern Asian cuisine options. All the food we had was very delicious, except for the Crispy Duck, it tasted kind of dry for us. Other than that, everything was near perfection! Servers were quick enough to get our orders, and I really loved the painting they drew over the wall of the entire interior room - it gives off a serene ambiance.

Service was perfect, the waiter was nice ans friendly and would come to us very fast in every round. Place is cozy and good food! Only thing I would say is charging 7,50€ for a bottle of sparkling water feels like a scam.

Ponzu is a fine restaurant in itself, but absolutely not recommended for people who eat halal. There are no halal options, resulting in far fewer choices on the menu. For me personally, that makes it not worth coming back. Additionally, the service left something to be desired; it was not particularly friendly, which made the overall experience even worse.

I went to eat here today for my son's birthday. I wasn't familiar with Ponzu myself, so I didn't really know what to expect, but it turned out to be a very welcome surprise. Especially for an all-you-can-eat concept, this is truly different from what most people are used to. Here, you order a dish with a side dish of your choice, and then you can simply order again. What I personally consider a huge plus is that you are allowed to stay seated here, without the rushed feeling you sometimes get at some other concepts. That makes the whole experience much more relaxed and pleasant. The dishes are of high quality and truly prepared with care. In this segment, that is absolutely a breath of fresh air. The drinks were also good, and the service was fast, skilled, and exceptionally polite. Furthermore, the interior is beautiful, the restaurant feels spacious and absolutely not cramped, and the ambiance is simply very nice. All in all, a very positive experience and certainly a place I would love to return to.

I visited this restaurant recently and unfortunately left disappointed. The ordering system was not very clear or convenient. There is no tablet, so everything has to be ordered through the staff, which makes the process slower and a bit confusing. The food took quite a long time to arrive, and some of the dishes were already cold. The service also didn’t leave a great impression - the interaction with the staff felt somewhat inattentive and not very welcoming. Overall, I expected a much better experience from a restaurant with this concept.

This was the highlight of our recent weekend escapade to Utrecht. A surprising fine Asian dining experience with a fixed-price that allows you to enjoy all the dishes you want without worrying. The food quality was as good as it gets with some unique dishes to remember. The service, impecable. The atmosphere, warm and friendly. Great way to spend an evening in Utrecht’s city centre.

All you can eat, but it takes atleast 45m-1h before you can get your food. The food that you get is bite size, so after 30 seconds you’re waiting again for a long time. The service and the esthetic is good, but you’re coming to eat food. Would not recommend, especially for the price you pay.

The food is of good quality. Our glasses of water were refilled by the staff from the bottle on our table. Each round, you order one dish and any side dishes you like. You place the menu on the edge of the table so they know you want to order, and that's generally very quick. Definitely worth repeating! Price per person includes tip.

We had a delicious meal at Ponzu. It's an all-you-can-eat concept, but with no time limit. You can order one dish at a time. Delicious appetizers, especially sashimi, oysters, scallops, and lamb chops! The service was also excellent; very friendly and quick. The only downside is the close proximity. The table next to us was very noisy, and you could easily hear their conversation.

A great place to try a different all-you-can-eat concept. Drinks, as with most AYCE restaurants, aren't included. There was only one server taking orders; the rest only came to collect plates or bring dishes. It wasn't busy the evening we were there, so this wasn't a problem. The cocktails are delicious. It's especially nice to be able to order sushi as well as nice cuts of meat and pasta. The menu is extensive and definitely worth a try.

Last Wednesday, the two of us dined here. The restaurant looks very cozy, and the seating arrangement is well-thought-out. There are individual tables, but some are elevated. There are also several alcoves where you can sit with up to four people in some privacy. The sound quality makes it easy to have a conversation. The service is extremely friendly and competent, although a lot of English is spoken. The "all you can eat" concept is on a whole new level here. There's no time pressure. You can sit here after 5 p.m. and turn off the lights in the evening, completely refreshed and satisfied. You can only order one appetizer at a time, but that dish is large enough to last you a while and allow you to order more later. It's also served quickly and cleared away quickly. There's a choice of over 80 dishes (meat, fish, and vegetarian), and each one is more delicious than the last. I will definitely be back.

Everything was good except we went to the restaurant for a 2 hour all you can eat experience however the kitchen closes at 21:30. So if you come at 20:00, you have 1/4 of your time wasted but they charge the same price! That is absolutely crazy that you can even reserve this time if the kitchen closes and you don’t get a full experience. The food and the staff were very nice and friendly so if you go, book earlier otherwise you pay full price for 1 and a half hours.

There's no time limit, so you can start at your leisure and choose a new main course from the menu each time. The wine list is quite extensive for those who enjoy it. There's no time limit, so you can make your evening complete without feeling like you have to constantly check the clock to see how long you have left before leaving. You can stay as long as you like, right up until closing time, of course. The restrooms are clean, so you can definitely visit. The restaurant and atmosphere are incredibly relaxed and inviting. The ambient music isn't too loud, the service is friendly, and the food is extensive and excellent! 😊

Small portions allow you to try different things, but large enough to savor the flavors. I've read in some reviews that people were waiting very long between dishes. That certainly wasn't the case for us. Recommendations: the flambe unagi roll, the salmon & tuna tartare, and the Korean BBQ spareribs.

We were here on a Friday night and couldn't get in until 8, which is very late when the last dish has to be served at 10. We sat downstairs, which definitely had a better atmosphere than the ground floor. We were seated at a table between two other tables, and it was so crowded that we could almost eat with the others. Then, several waitresses looked at us several times (we were without food or drinks) and nothing was done about it. The table next to us also went without a drink for a long time. Then, only two or three waitresses could order, and they were busy for about 15 minutes. So, we made no progress at all. We finally ordered food, but it took at least 20 minutes for the sashimi pieces to arrive, which is a long time when you only order one dish per round, which is also very small. The food is presented beautifully, but it's honestly not worth the wait and the money. You pay for all-you-can-eat (€46!), but are severely limited by the long wait times, short eating times, and small dishes. We ended up ordering side dishes to fill up, as waiting until 8 pm had left us quite hungry. In short, it looks great, but the execution was far less impressive.

The menu is extensive and there's something for everyone. The service is friendly and fast. We'd like to give a special thanks to Toni. She's super hospitable and sociable. Reservations are recommended. They were completely full from the start. The atmosphere and interior are beautiful. We spent €137 for 2 people (2 menus) and 8 drinks + 1 dessert. The bill is included with the photo. Definitely recommended, fixed price and good value for money.

The dinner was lovely, the staff was very accommodating to our 11 month old baby. They offered her a high chair, coloring book, and unseasoned salmon without us even having to ask. The salmon tuna tartar was one of the best dishes my friends and I ever had. The ambiance is perfect for a nice dinner. We hope to be back soon!

On July 24th, we ate here with some colleagues. The concept is all-you-can-eat, but in rounds with a maximum number of dishes per round. The dishes are just the right size, good quality, and nicely presented. And varied. There's plenty of choice! The staff were super friendly, came by often enough to ask if we wanted drinks, and were quick with our orders. We had a great time!

"Fine dining" all-you-can-eat concept. Dishes take a minimum of 30 minutes, and you can only order one dish at a time. So, you have to wait 30 minutes for two oysters before you can order another. The taste was okay, but nothing special. I wouldn't rate it much higher than the standard all-you-can-eat, especially considering the price. Compared to other "fine dining" all-you-can-eat locations, this one ranks low. With such a concept, in my opinion, two dishes per round would make it better. Or a maximum of 10-15 minutes per dish.

Unfortunately, it was a real disappointment for us. We'd seen a lot of reviews (eventually from over a year ago, maybe that explains it) and lots of videos on Instagram. We were really excited to go. But we had to wait 30 minutes per round... and that's just one scallop or two tartare bites. After an hour and a half, we decided to just fill up on the side dishes, but yeah, three times nothing to have to eat fries because your sushi didn't arrive... Most tables were empty, and I noticed some growing frustration at other tables as well. You can order the next course when your plate is empty, which resulted in people going to the store so you can order ahead and not let it go for more than those 30 minutes... We also found the quality to be lower than other all-you-can-eat restaurants in Utrecht. It's a real shame. The decor was nice and the service was friendly, though sometimes you get a strange look if you keep eating to be able to order, haha. Definitely not worth the price, unfortunately :(

The concept is brilliant and quite exciting. You can order one order per person per tour, and you can order as many as you like until the restaurant closes. All-you-can-eat restaurants usually offer standardized food, but the food at this restaurant was truly exceptional. Every menu we tried was delicious. I highly recommend it. If you enjoy Asian cuisine in Utrecht, this is a must-try!
