The food is of good quality. Our glasses of water were refilled by the staff from the bottle on our table. Each round, you order one dish and any side dishes you like. You place the menu on the edge of the table so they know you want to order, and that's generally very quick. Definitely worth repeating! Price per person includes tip.

We had a delicious meal at Ponzu. It's an all-you-can-eat concept, but with no time limit. You can order one dish at a time. Delicious appetizers, especially sashimi, oysters, scallops, and lamb chops! The service was also excellent; very friendly and quick. The only downside is the close proximity. The table next to us was very noisy, and you could easily hear their conversation.

A great place to try a different all-you-can-eat concept. Drinks, as with most AYCE restaurants, aren't included. There was only one server taking orders; the rest only came to collect plates or bring dishes. It wasn't busy the evening we were there, so this wasn't a problem. The cocktails are delicious. It's especially nice to be able to order sushi as well as nice cuts of meat and pasta. The menu is extensive and definitely worth a try.

Nothing special at all. It's not all-you-can-eat if you're only allowed to order after the previous round is gone, but each round takes ages to get.

Last Wednesday, the two of us dined here. The restaurant looks very cozy, and the seating arrangement is well-thought-out. There are individual tables, but some are elevated. There are also several alcoves where you can sit with up to four people in some privacy. The sound quality makes it easy to have a conversation. The service is extremely friendly and competent, although a lot of English is spoken. The "all you can eat" concept is on a whole new level here. There's no time pressure. You can sit here after 5 p.m. and turn off the lights in the evening, completely refreshed and satisfied. You can only order one appetizer at a time, but that dish is large enough to last you a while and allow you to order more later. It's also served quickly and cleared away quickly. There's a choice of over 80 dishes (meat, fish, and vegetarian), and each one is more delicious than the last. I will definitely be back.

Everything was good except we went to the restaurant for a 2 hour all you can eat experience however the kitchen closes at 21:30. So if you come at 20:00, you have 1/4 of your time wasted but they charge the same price! That is absolutely crazy that you can even reserve this time if the kitchen closes and you don’t get a full experience. The food and the staff were very nice and friendly so if you go, book earlier otherwise you pay full price for 1 and a half hours.

I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely restaurant. The food is delicious, carefully prepared. It's truly culinary, the dishes are delicious, and there's plenty of choice. There's no time limit, so you can start at your leisure and choose a new main course from the menu each time. The wine list is quite extensive for those who enjoy it. There's no time limit, so you can make your evening complete without feeling like you have to constantly check the clock to see how long you have left before leaving. You can stay as long as you like, right up until closing time, of course. The restrooms are clean, so you can definitely visit. The restaurant and atmosphere are incredibly relaxed and inviting. The ambient music isn't too loud, the service is friendly, and the food is extensive and excellent! 😊

Delicious food! Great atmosphere, lovely relaxing music, and friendly staff. The dishes are high quality and very flavorful. Small portions allow you to try different things, but large enough to savor the flavors. I've read in some reviews that people were waiting very long between dishes. That certainly wasn't the case for us. Recommendations: the flambe unagi roll, the salmon & tuna tartare, and the Korean BBQ spareribs.

We were here on a Friday night and couldn't get in until 8, which is very late when the last dish has to be served at 10. We sat downstairs, which definitely had a better atmosphere than the ground floor. We were seated at a table between two other tables, and it was so crowded that we could almost eat with the others. Then, several waitresses looked at us several times (we were without food or drinks) and nothing was done about it. The table next to us also went without a drink for a long time. Then, only two or three waitresses could order, and they were busy for about 15 minutes. So, we made no progress at all. We finally ordered food, but it took at least 20 minutes for the sashimi pieces to arrive, which is a long time when you only order one dish per round, which is also very small. The food is presented beautifully, but it's honestly not worth the wait and the money. You pay for all-you-can-eat (€46!), but are severely limited by the long wait times, short eating times, and small dishes. We ended up ordering side dishes to fill up, as waiting until 8 pm had left us quite hungry. In short, it looks great, but the execution was far less impressive.

The menu is extensive and there's something for everyone. The service is friendly and fast. We'd like to give a special thanks to Toni. She's super hospitable and sociable. Reservations are recommended. They were completely full from the start. The atmosphere and interior are beautiful. We spent €137 for 2 people (2 menus) and 8 drinks + 1 dessert. The bill is included with the photo. Definitely recommended, fixed price and good value for money.

The dinner was lovely, the staff was very accommodating to our 11 month old baby. They offered her a high chair, coloring book, and unseasoned salmon without us even having to ask. The salmon tuna tartar was one of the best dishes my friends and I ever had. The ambiance is perfect for a nice dinner. We hope to be back soon!

On July 24th, we ate here with some colleagues. The concept is all-you-can-eat, but in rounds with a maximum number of dishes per round. The dishes are just the right size, good quality, and nicely presented. And varied. There's plenty of choice! The staff were super friendly, came by often enough to ask if we wanted drinks, and were quick with our orders. We had a great time!

Pleasantly surprised! The food was much better quality than your average all-you-can-eat restaurant. The price-quality ratio is quite reasonable considering you're easily eating 7 to 10 courses. We spent €140 for two people. The hostesses were extremely friendly and helpful, making our evening even more special. We'd love to come back again!

"Fine dining" all-you-can-eat concept. Dishes take a minimum of 30 minutes, and you can only order one dish at a time. So, you have to wait 30 minutes for two oysters before you can order another. The taste was okay, but nothing special. I wouldn't rate it much higher than the standard all-you-can-eat, especially considering the price. Compared to other "fine dining" all-you-can-eat locations, this one ranks low. With such a concept, in my opinion, two dishes per round would make it better. Or a maximum of 10-15 minutes per dish.

Unfortunately, it was a real disappointment for us. We'd seen a lot of reviews (eventually from over a year ago, maybe that explains it) and lots of videos on Instagram. We were really excited to go. But we had to wait 30 minutes per round... and that's just one scallop or two tartare bites. After an hour and a half, we decided to just fill up on the side dishes, but yeah, three times nothing to have to eat fries because your sushi didn't arrive... Most tables were empty, and I noticed some growing frustration at other tables as well. You can order the next course when your plate is empty, which resulted in people going to the store so you can order ahead and not let it go for more than those 30 minutes... We also found the quality to be lower than other all-you-can-eat restaurants in Utrecht. It's a real shame. The decor was nice and the service was friendly, though sometimes you get a strange look if you keep eating to be able to order, haha. Definitely not worth the price, unfortunately :(

The restaurant was lovely. It felt cozy although it had plenty of space. The concept is a prix fixe menu, no matter however many dishes you order. Everything was top quality. Even the mocktail I had was amazing! And the people working there were all super nice and attentive. I absolutely recommend stopping by. Also, there is a terrace boarding the canal (wasn’t able to eat there because it was raining) and that looked lovely.

The concept is brilliant and quite exciting. You can order one order per person per tour, and you can order as many as you like until the restaurant closes. All-you-can-eat restaurants usually offer standardized food, but the food at this restaurant was truly exceptional. Every menu we tried was delicious. I highly recommend it. If you enjoy Asian cuisine in Utrecht, this is a must-try!

A more luxurious, elegant take on the all-you-can-eat concept compared to others, we found it to have a pleasant, cozy atmosphere. There was a wide selection of food, the dishes were beautifully and elegantly presented, and above all, the dishes were surprisingly delicious. In short, definitely worth a return visit. A solid 10! The food was fine. Not wow. The duck (crispy duck with plum sauce) was very dry and greasy. It wasn't crispy enough as advertised on the menu either. It's a shame it was served like that. There wasn't a piece of watermelon in the watermelon mocktail, but there were raspberries. The affogato was good 👌🏼. I'll give it another try.

Heaven! I've never sat at a table for more than four hours, and the time just flew by. Well, that was partly due to the company, but still. The one-dish-at-a-time concept allows for plenty of time to enjoy your meal, but don't forget the presentation. That level of service, for that price? Heavenly. And the service, a big plus. We had a great evening together. We had a wonderful evening, and so did they!

We went for the all-you-can-eat option, which offers a fun fine dining experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were also very friendly. The concept is that each person can order one dish at a time, which makes it feel more relaxed and refined. However, sometimes it took quite a while before the next dish arrived — it was a bit busy, so I understand the delay. We ended up staying for quite a long time and still didn’t get to try everything. I definitely recommend this place, but I’d suggest going during a quieter time to enjoy the full experience.

Was a really refreshing concept but we didnt expect to be there for that long. You can basically sit there for however long you want but we didnt expect to wait 20+ min between each dish, and you can only order 1 per round. So my advice: plan your trip according to that! Besides that the food was good would love to come here again and try more off the menu

Each waiter and waitress were friendly and took a bit of time to chat with you about the food and other things in the city. I found the value and the quality of food to be excellent. One time one meal should not be tooo strict to avoid customer to visit next time

Went there for dinner for the first time today. I've seen a lot of sushi restaurants, but if you're a gourmet this is one of the better ones. Where the sushi rice is often too sticky/dry/cold, here it's almost perfect. With the other dishes you could see that the chefs had thought about the flavors. The flavors fit well together with each dish. Some people complain that you can only have 1 dish per round, but the fact that you can eat unlimitedly negates that complaint. Better 1 dish per round, that is well proportioned and of high quality than 3 or 4 dishes that are hastily made. The waitresses, who served with a smile and came to have a chat if you wanted. I made my allergens clear from the start and the waitress was very attentive to this, class! I felt welcome here from the start! The costs are a bit higher than a standard sushi restaurant, but in my opinion this is not a standard sushi restaurant so it is worth it.

I recently visited Ponzu to celebrate a birthday, and overall, it was a great experience with a few areas for improvement. The food was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. Everything we tried was made with high-quality ingredients and was well-seasoned. The menu offers a wide variety of choices. The presentation was also very appealing, adding to the overall dining experience. However, the biggest downside was the waiting time between dishes. At Ponzu, you have to finish your current dish before ordering the next, and while this can help pace the meal, it also resulted in long delays. It sometimes took quite a while for a waiter to come back to take our next order, and with a full restaurant, this added to the overall wait time. It would be great if the staff could either check in more frequently or allow guests to pre-select a few dishes in advance. I’d still recommend it for a special night out or celebration, especially if you’re not in a rush and want to enjoy a relaxed, flavorful meal.

Recommended for a long sit down meal and conversation with friends and family. The buffet concept is for multiple smaller course through out dinner. Great for special ocassion. This is definitely not suited in case one is hungry or looking for a quick bite. We were back multiple time and thoroughly enjoy it. The service and waitress were very nice.

The food itself was very good! Only that the menu and the website says “one dish per customer per round, it is therefore recommended not to wait for others to finish before ordering your next round” since the prep times and eating can vary. So we went two weeks ago, no problem. Delicious food and nice service. However, we went again last night, and then they told me I had to wait for everyone to finish before ordering. This is especially annoying if you order something small (like an order of 2 oysters, or 3 bites of sashimi) everyone else else orders something which takes much longer to eat. When I pointed this out to the staff because no one took my next order, I did get an attitude and “Yeah the website and menu is wrong. You need to wait.”

Ponzu Asian Style in Utrecht is the perfect place for lovers of refined Asian flavors. The soft creamy lobster soup and tasty prawns, followed by a colorful sashimi plank. The flambé salmon sushi rolls were a real feast, buttery soft on the inside and subtly coated with a layer of sauce. The Genmaicha Japan tea provided the ideal, soothing taste sensation. The modern and cozy atmosphere, combined with friendly and attentive service, makes your visit complete. A tip: place the menu vertically as soon as you want to order another round, so everything runs effortlessly. A very nice Asian restaurant to take your loved one, it will definitely impress. Definitely worth repeating!

We expected a lot from it, but unfortunately it was a big disappointment... Went out for dinner as a couple on a Friday evening. On average it took about 30 minutes per round, so after more than 3 hours we had only tasted 6 dishes. If you want to go home with a full stomach, it's better to skip the starters — 2 oysters already count as one dish. Too bad, because most dishes tasted good. Only the portions were small and the intervals were far too long. Moreover, there were some major mistakes, such as fries that tasted old and reheated. We lost €110 for this disappointing dinner. If you still want to try it: avoid the weekend when it is busy.

Attitude problem at restaurant manager. Other than that, ok food. Overpriced and slow service. We went there to celebrate friend reunion of 3 people. We tried many all you ca eat restaurants in NL and Ponzu tried to outsell us with good quality of food. That you can order a dish per round. Need to wait until finish before other another. The wait is killing us. 20 mins to serve 1 dish which portion is small. We have to wait until we finish. Waiter come to get next order. Wait another 20 mins like a loop. We end up 3 dishes within 1 hr. With this process range - I can call it scam. 2 out of 3 dishes I order, it’s salad which contain vegetables and boiled schrimp top with chilli sause where you can buy it from supermarkets. 🥲 scam. I almost order the soup but waiter said another table just ordered and they confirmed it’s disappointing. I was saved but waiters. Thank you. The side dish you can always order which only bean and rice. 50 euro with many dishes that look like all you can eat (30-40eur and unlimited dishes). Expensive. Long wait. And my stomach only filled with rice. Sushi is super basic. You can have the same quality as takeway restaurants. I am serious. Last part, the manager gave us attitude on stop. We booked the table for 2 weeks and they almost give us table on last minute. Not listen or even look at us where we want to complaint. At least to improve. Just use the hand to stop and talk to other customer. How rude. Waiter are well trained and try to improve situation but Manager is …. Rude. Sorry with this price. Basic food and (very little portion). SCAM

We had dinner there to celebrate special moment because of the good review. We even booked the place 2 months in advanced with a note that we have something to celebrate. Then we went there with excitement and we got super random table. The manager couldn't help with anything according to the employee. The start was already 👎 . Then we ordered food that takes long. We were there for about 3 hours and only able to ordered 6 menu per person. It took about 25 mins per menu. It's just crazy long. I can imagine that the presentation probably what they focused on cause it's beautiful but please also count on the time. The food was okay (normal all you can eat seems better). So nothing special. I mean they sell it as a fine dining and I don't taste it. So it seems the fine dining is really focusing on the presentation. Overall, this restaurant is just overrated, expensive, and please don't have a note on your website if you don't even consider it. I don't really recommend this place and definitely not going back.

We arrived a little earlier than the reservation. Neatly indicated that we wanted to wait a while at the bar or at the table with just a drink, for example. This was absolutely not possible due to staff shortages. In half an hour you will suddenly no longer have a shortage of staff? We were not taken into account at all and nothing was possible. The only 'solution' was to wait outside. Extremely unfriendly and ridiculous. We drove to Utrecht specifically to eat here, otherwise we would have left immediately. The place was half empty. We then had a delicious meal for an unlimited number of rounds and the food comes every 10 minutes instead of at once, which in our opinion is much better than getting it right away, you really "enjoy" it much more😃! Furthermore, the cocktails were a bit on the pricey side, but good! I will definitely come back here and many thanks to the staff!
