Delicious food, friendly staff and very pleasant atmosphere

Ate here on Boxing Day. The service was absolutely terrible. Drinks were thrust into your hands from the head of the table, and even if you said something about it, the penny wouldn't drop. The food was poorly prepared and barely warm. The kibbeling (fried fish) was sprinkled with herbs concentrated in one spot, making it impossible to eat. I made a comment about this, but that's the chef's fault; I have no control over that. Dessert, the ice cream, seemed more like soft serve or milk. In other words, when it's busy, they completely lose control.

Good food for a good price, nice location

It's what you would expect for these prices, but you have to wait a long time.

We ate here with 12 people, drawn by the low price and the (walking) distance from our holiday destination. The atmosphere was pleasant; the lights were dimmed a few times, which definitely added to the ambiance. Plenty of choices, and the price/quality ratio is excellent. Not 5 stars, because the food wasn't hot, but just a little more than lukewarm. The service was excellent; they were very fast and friendly. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

Food was mediocre. It felt like it came from heat-resistant containers. The food temperature wasn't quite right.

The reception was somewhat unprofessional. The lady who welcomed us didn't even look at us. Afterward, the service improved considerably, as did the young man at the checkout. The starters were excellent, as was my steak duo with separate vegetables. Dessert was fine. My guest's main course wasn't as good. You had to look for the chicken in his dish with a magnifying glass. The service was otherwise a bit irresponsible. But that's fine. The three-course menu for €19.95/€22.95 is excellent food. All in all, quite okay.

Excellent value for money! During the week, you pay €19.95 for a three-course meal. We were with a large group, and many of the food wasn't warm, but I had a great meal and was pleasantly surprised! We received a roll with herb butter as a starter, which was still warm, which I always consider a plus. Drinks were included, and we were regularly asked if we wanted anything else. All in all, we had a pleasant evening. The service was also excellent; there were a few issues, but they were corrected immediately.

We had dinner with 30 people yesterday, and it was fantastic! Thanks for that.

Everything was fine except dessert. We had to wait over half an hour for our dessert after our main course.

The food was excellent. Chicken burger on a tray with paper on it, nothing else. My husband's was on a tray with paper and three pieces of spare rib. Nothing else, and we shared a bowl of fries. What I missed were some vegetables. It was bare-bones.

A three-course meal for less than €20 is very affordable, and while the food was excellent, that has to be recouped somewhere, and that's partly due to the quality of the meat, for example. Nevertheless, the food was good, with a nice setting and excellent service. Highly recommended.

We received very friendly service tonight!

We had a great meal here. The carpaccio is delicious, and so is the dessert. The burger has been deteriorating, I don't know why; it was still absolutely delicious a year ago. We also had incredibly fast service with our appetizer. The food was taken, and two minutes later, the appetizer was on the table. The rest of the food arrived quickly, but we waited longer for the bill than for all the other meals combined, which could be a bit more careful. Beautiful location.

The meat was tough, but we could only order one drink, no matter what we did, and we were ignored. They didn't clear the table and wanted to put the desserts on the dirty plates of the main courses. We received one drink per person as compensation, except for me because my drink (Amstel Radler) was too expensive, so a colleague got two cheap drinks off and I got nothing. Terrible service, I will never come back here.

Poor service. Sat for over half an hour. No one came to take my order. This experience has taught me there's an excellent brasserie just a three-minute drive from this awful place.

The food was mediocre, and several meat dishes were served cold. This was mainly due to the timing of the service and their lack of experience. The staff's stress was also very noticeable to the guests. Clearing and serving were uncertain. Better guidance is the solution.

We recently dined here, but it was truly TERRIBLE. After waiting a long time to finally be helped, our meals were served cold twice. All around us, other tables were covered in dirty dishes that weren't cleared. We had to repeatedly ask the waiter if we could order anything else. When we paid, we explained our honest experience. They weren't surprised and didn't do anything about it. I don't write reviews often, but this was definitely not a positive experience.

For a change, I went to Bregje Oosterhout instead of Dordrecht. It was a great success! Friendly, efficient service and a charming location in the woods. Highly recommend the street food, gyozo, and satay. Definitely worth going back!

Two wilted asparagus spears as a starter. Had them returned to the kitchen. Received two slightly less wilted asparagus spears from the kitchen. Would the total have been 40 grams? Outrageous.

The food was delicious, the menu with six small lunch snacks is definitely recommended, but the service was AWFUL. The first time we were asked if everything was to our satisfaction was when we were paying. When we let them know we'd missed service, we received apologies: it was too busy, far corner of the terrace, and the waitress had lost her overview. The terrace wasn't even 80% full. Several attempts to call the staff went unheeded. We had to get cutlery and napkins ourselves. To order another drink, we even had to get up ourselves. There was no way we could come back for another round. It's a shame, definitely lost revenue, and I won't be back. It's a real shame, because it's a nice place and the food was definitely good.

We had a super fun and delicious lunch! Six in the mix, a great concept, and all for only €12.50.

Ik ben met een groep van 8 personen komen eten voor de verjaardag van mijn dochter. Ik had eerder gereserveerd en 2 vragen gesteld. Ik heb op beide geen antwoord gekregen. Toen ik vrijdagavond belde, werd ik niet al te netjes te woord gestaan. Ik vroeg of als een eter rond half 9/9 uur nog zou aanschuiven of er dan nog gegeten of besteld mocht worden. Er werd me verteld dat de keuken om half 9 sluit en dat er dan geen bestelling meer gedaan mag worden. Ik gaf als tip mee om dat dan op de site te vermelden. Dan kan je dit soort vragen voorkomen. Ze gaf aan dat ze dat niet doen/kunnen want jullie zijn een franchisenemer. De volgende vraag heb ik maar niet meer gesteld, want de toon was al niet te vriendelijk. Het was een vraag over het grand dessert en ik wilde weten of men iets kon doen voor de verjaardag van mijn dochter.. Ik heb nog even getwijfeld of ik wel wilde komen, maar degene die later zou komen, kon gelukkig op het werk regelen dat hij eerder wegkon. Zaterdag belde ik voor zekerheid opnieuw want ik had nog geen bevestiging gekregen dat de reservering was doorgekomen. Dat was gelukkig wel zo. Rond 20.00 uur was ik met een gedeelte van het gezelschap al aanwezig. Er stonden 3 mensen achter de bar en blijkbaar zat er ook een personeelslid aan de bar. Die vroeg of iemand mij kon helpen…toen ik aangaf dat ik een reservering had, wist degene achter de bar niet wat ze moest doen en werd er een andere college geroepen.. Toen we aan tafel gingen heb ik nog bestek van mijn stoel afgehaald, want dat was daar opgekomen of achtergebleven. Aan tafel hebben wij ook gevraagd om een schoon mes, want bij 1 van ons was dat gewoon nog vies. Eenmaal allemaal aan tafel moesten we alle keuzes doorgeven, logisch want keuken sluit om half 9. Vervolgens kregen wij ons drinken en de serveerster vond het praktisch om aan de ene kant van de tafel te blijven staan en verzocht ons om de glazen aan de andere kant door te geven. Dit is zelfs een paar keer gebeurd. Er waren er ook die netjes omliepen. De laatste keer zeiden we er wat van en toen werd de koffie op de tafel geknald. Ik had samen met een andere gast, Liqor 43 besteld. Ik weet niet of jullie een B-merk gebruiken, maar het smaakte niet naar Liqor 43. Ik besloot na de koffie af te rekenen op het moment dat een medewerker ook al tegemoet kwam. Ze vroeg hoe het was en ik gaf dit aan. Ik kreeg geen sorry. Kreeg alleen te horen dat het jonge mensen zijn. Tja, dat is geen excuus. Ik begrijp het, maar dan zal je je personeel hierop moeten aanspreken. De koffie die op tafel werd geknald was zo niet bedoeld zei ze. Daarnaast werd er ook niet ingegaan op het vieze bestek. Ik gaf nog aan dat ik hem een tweede kans gaf, maar dat het vertrouwen wel een deuk opliep. Het eten was goed en zeker genoeg, daar heb ik een compliment over gegeven. Ook de nota was in orde. Al met al heb ik er wel een beetje een bijzonder gevoel over. Zeker omdat er het een en ander niet goed liep en ik niet het idee had dat er iets mee gedaan wordt, nadat ik opmerkingen maakte. Ik ben ook niet gecompenseerd of iets dergelijk. Jammer.

Heb hier vanwege mijn verjaardag met familie en vrienden gegeten. Ik had vouchers aangekocht via social deal. Verrukkelijk gegeten, ruime keuze. Heel lief personeel. Voor herhaling vatbaar

Duurde lang voordat de drankbestelling werd opgenomen, ondanks geringe drukte. Na half uur maar eens informeren wanneer deze doorkwam, maar toen was de koffie en thee reeds lauw! Lunchplateau was niet mogelijk, ook niet voor 6 personen, alleen lunchgerechten werd ons in niet misverstane woorden en daden duidelijk gemaakt. Aspergesoep had vreemd smaakje, hoogstwaarschijnlijk zuur, retour keuken. Bregje’s burger half rauw, niet goed doorbakken. Smooty ijskoud en zuur, Tafels van vertrokken gasten werden niet afgeruimd. Geen aanbeveling voor Bregje Oosterhout.

Very nice place. They have a fixed price for a 3 or 4 course menu. There is enough choice and it tasted very good, but not great. Something you can't expect for this price. Price quality is great in my opinion. Definitely recommended for that price and I will definitely go back.

My wife and I dined here for the third time today. We come here for the delicious food, the reasonable prices, and the cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the service was quick.

Prijs kwaliteit klopt. Geen culinaire kaart maar dat kun je ook niet verwachten voor de prijzen van het eten. De lunch met de keuze uit 6 mini broodjes is prima fijn dat je zelf kunt aangeven wat voor beleg je op de broodjes lust. Er is veel keuze zowel warm of koud beleg. Weer eens wat anders dan een 12 uurtje.

Good for a quick bite. Everything is brought out too quickly, as if they want the table cleared by a certain time so they can close.

Large restaurant with a large terrace. The chicken satay was disappointing. There wasn't much satay sauce, and the meat was dry. The chocolate dessert was delicious, though. Very reasonable prices.

You get what you pay for. The table we were shown to was quite dirty, with fries all over the floor. The staff cleaned it immediately, but that set the tone. My partner recognized several dishes from which wholesaler/supermarket Bregje had bought them ready-made or ready-to-heat. It's fun to try, but we prefer to keep our money in our pockets, spend an extra 15 to 20 euros, and get something that was completely designed and prepared by the restaurant. I can easily take something out of a package and/or microwave it myself.

Prima gegeten hierzo! Er hangt een gezellige sfeer in het restaurant maar ook op het terras. Bediening was enorm vriendelijk en we werden snel geholpen. Op het eten hebben we niet lang moeten wachten. Geweldige avond gehad en dat voor die prijs! Wij komen zeker een keer terug.

Fast service. Friendly staff. But as for the food, they went through it very quickly. One time, never again. It was disgusting. Old, dry meat. Not tasty. Easy money. Great people. Don't even bother!

The main course was good enough. The ice cream was full of lumps, so we returned it. We asked to exchange it for a cup of coffee, but no action was taken. Compensation was added to the receipt. However, when we got home, it turned out this wasn't what we expected. Compensation turned out to be only 50 cents. We wouldn't recommend it.

This time it was a really bad experience. mussels were overcooked or too old. they were talking apart and had a strange color. talking to waiter about this and they would inform the kitchen staff. Don't know what and if they do something with this. We got the offer for a new main meal or a drink from the house. That was nice but we were there for the food. It will not be the last time visiting because it really has all you need, but this time it just was bad. Plastic wrapping still around the cheese was also bad. This can happen but with some inspection of the food, this wouldn't be necessary.

On a stopover at Bregje's with my elderly parents. The staff were unfriendly. The terrace was almost empty, but after our drinks, we didn't see any staff. They even asked if they could help us. The wheelchair ramp is on the wrong door (which someone with limited mobility can't open). It took too long to pay, and the customers next to us couldn't find anyone inside either. Finally, someone came out of a door, very rudely saying, "Well, I'm here anyway." Totally uninterested. Still not coming out to pay!!! And then they said, "I've been here since 10:30." Oh dear, the terrace was empty and it was only 4:00 PM. Having lunch here tomorrow with family 🫤

A very cozy and hospitable restaurant. We felt welcome right away. The atmosphere is good, the staff friendly and the price-quality ratio is well balanced. Definitely recommended!

Playground for the kids, super nice near the forest

Once you are here and have a seat it takes an unnecessarily long time before someone comes. After ordering it takes an unnecessarily long time again before you have your drinks and food. We had ordered a simple apple pie and it took about 15 minutes before it was brought to the table. I don't think it should take that long. I have been here several times and every time it takes an incredibly long time before you have your drinks and food. Been there 3 times and will never go there again. The toilet area could also be a bit cleaner, there were all kinds of vermin here. Too bad because Oud Oosterhout used to be very good. Since this place has been here it has really gone downhill.

Delicious food and very attentive service

With an outside temperature of 37 degrees it is nice to eat inside where there is air conditioning. Now there is air conditioning at Bregje, but in my opinion it was not on in the part of the restaurant where we were sitting or at least not cool enough. In the other part of the restaurant, where a lady from the staff was working behind her laptop, it was considerably cooler. When we asked if we could sit in that part we got a 'no, because that room remained closed'... Whether the air conditioning in our part could be a bit cooler, this was responded to positively, but nothing really was done about it. I find this quite unfriendly to customers. The fact that the outside door was open did not really help to make it cooler inside, but this was explained because it would otherwise be too hot for the staff... In short, the climate control does work, only in selected places of the restaurant. Too bad.

Super tasty food, very friendly service and the food was super fast. Inside the atmosphere was good outside too but outside the cushions were quite dirty and too many people who smoke your food doesn't even smell like food anymore more like a cigarette. Price was good. One downside: I wanted an apple pie for dessert but that was not possible because it was evening and that it is only available in the afternoon. A tip take those dessert cards off the table in the evening! Plus point: chairs and tables were very clean inside.

I can't be too harsh about the food, because the prices are amazing and the taste was fine! The portions are what you would expect for this price and the fries are complementary. My main course was just a bit too dry and sad, unfortunately. But I knew I could've picked a lot of other things! There are a lot of options! I would go another time and take my family, because there are great options if you go with at least two people. Service was very good! People are friendly, helpful and fast if you want them too. I would recommend it. Maybe not the pork tenderloin though ;)

Low-threshold and budget-friendly restaurant. Starters were fine. We had 2x an Eastern trio, a pulled pork taco and a tasting for 2 people. For main courses, 3 people had spareribs and these were quite disappointing. It seemed to be boiled and the meat was also way too cooked! Normally you can "gnaw" on spareribs but here - so to speak - someone without teeth could suck the meat off. There was a very thick layer of marinade on it, which made it too spicy and too salty for us. All three of us only took a few bites. The food was also served too lukewarm, it was almost cold. We were very hungry so we started eating right away. The ordered pork tenderloin was tasty. The desserts were good and sufficient. We had a creamy cheesecake, a Dame Blanche, a chocolate dream and a Grand Dessert. The apple pie with the Grand Dessert unfortunately had raw dough and was therefore not really edible. We had a nice evening and it was enough food for a budget-friendly price, but it was just not right.... - My table was very sticky from the previous guest. Asked twice if they wanted to clean it and the waiter promised to come back with a cleaning cloth, but the table was not cleaned. - Cutlery is ready in a plastic pot. The pot looked dirty and unappetizing on the inside. This is something that is apparently not taken into account when cleaning. Not fresh for the cutlery, especially not if the knife and fork sides are facing down in the pot. - two young waiters (girls) who were bitching at each other, clearly audible to the guests. - When the main course was served, we discovered that there was no cutlery left (that had been removed when clearing the starters). Because we did not see a waiter, we had to look for cutlery ourselves. - We were a bit late with eating. At some point, the kitchen team and part of the waiters were finished and also came to sit outside on the terrace. Perfectly fine to rest and have a drink, but when several staff members light up a cigarette while we are eating 2 meters away, that is not very tasty. (Although we are aware that it was not a smoke-free terrace.) We were one of the last guests and almost the entire terrace was empty. Why then smoke near people eating? - We were charged for a side salad that we did not receive

Last Saturday we went for a bite and a kick in Oosterhout, everything was great 👍except for our main course at Bregje Oosterhout. The fillet steak was inedible, it was boiled instead of fried and not seasoned, but you don't give something like that to customers, this is really substandard 🤨 Wyns Sandra

Very nice after renovation / restyling. Lunch very nice. 6 dishes for 12.50 unbelievable. Staff very friendly. Evening meal also very tasty here.

Been to Bregje. The concept is friendly priced. The quality of the food leaves much to be desired. I found the starter Eastern Trio very little. The main course Spareribs was below average. It seemed as if they were boiled or steamed, in any case not nicely fried in a nice rub. It looked bland. Dessert was fine.

Cozy and good food for a nice price

Atmospheric setting right by the forest. Nice terrace and plenty of seats inside. Three-course concept, less is not the intention. Buratta salad was tasty. Regret my choice for the tenderloin skewers because they were just really not tasty while I normally love tenderloin but tough, old, overcooked, a waste! Dessert with passion fruit was also not a great success, only the ice cream ball in the middle I liked. You don't have to leave it for the money; we spent €35 pp.

A top team. They work so hard there. They are all well attuned to each other. Food was really top, we had a delicious meal.

I have been here before and it was OK. Today was very disappointing. We got our drinks and they said they would come back to take our food order. I waved several times, "I'll be right there sir", but he never came. After 40 minutes (?) people who came in after us had already finished their food. That's when we decided to leave.

Main course skewered tenderloin was tough, for all 3 at our table, reheated it seemed. Another table also complained about this, no solution, discount or even a drink. Too bad.

Have eaten at various Bregjes before and all other times were very positive. Unfortunately, our visit to Bregje in Oosterhout was really disappointing in terms of service. All courses followed each other much too quickly, you had barely finished your mouth when the next course was in front of you. And if you are late now, I understand, but we were there at 18:30. After the main course we asked to wait a bit with the dessert, this was not possible because it had already been requested. Even when it arrived we indicated that it was really too soon, this was not responded to at all. Furthermore, the staff was mainly busy with each other and the guest came second. It was very special that an employee dropped a knife which was clearly seen by a colleague, who looks at it and then just steps over the knife which then lies on the floor for more than half an hour. It was eventually cleaned up by guests. Not okay. When paying the bill, 5 colleagues were busy talking to each other about the schedule while I was waiting to pay, no one who indicated that a guest was waiting. When I was helped, not even the question if everything was to my liking, only the amount of the bill. The food was good, the service was below average, not worthy of Bregje.

It is pleasant to stay on the terrace when the weather is nice, the girl who served us was very friendly and the food is tasty and well cared for! In short, a pleasant visit to have lunch there!! If we are in the area we will definitely come back! 👍👍

Not recommended. Carpaccio tasted of nothing. Main course was partly cold. Twice a dish was forgotten. It's better to eat at the neighbors 😉

Of course, we did not expect culinary excellence for these prices, but this was substandard. The starters were very small. I had the burger as a main course and it was very disappointing. The meat itself was well cooked, but there was less than half a lettuce leaf on the sandwich and the menu said it would contain pickles, but they were hard to find. My friend had the schnitzel and it was fried too long and therefore a bit burnt. The desserts were fine. Of course you can't expect anything for the price, but we thought it was a waste of money and we won't come back here.

The food is mediocre to reasonable, no asparagus can be tasted in the asparagus soup but garlic!! ️As an appetizer for the oriental trio, the skewer was cold. Half rack spareribs are a bit frugal. Many large groups and families come to eat here, which makes it very noisy and little atmosphere, a bit of a food bar, but it was not expensive.

This afternoon we sat on the terrace for half an hour and someone came to ask what they could serve us with. Just left again.

Een grote teleurstelling. Paasbrunch eens maar nooit meer. Stoelen alleen al te vies om aan te raken vol met vlekken. Onvriendelijk personeel. Bij zowel vis als vlees dezelfde soep die tegelijk geserveerd wordt met een bord vol broodjes. Vooral wit brood (geen keuze voor bruin) en weinig beleg een zielig plakje carpaccio, een grote smaakloze chocolademuffin om het bord vol te krijgen, ook overal hetzelfde croissantje met een zakje jam dat onder de broodjes ligt... zelden zo slecht gegeten zonde want dit is toch de kans om je restaurant te laten shinen

Sat on the terrace with more than 20 people, tables were not cleaned, even when they saw you sitting there, very unfortunate. Make sure this is done as soon as the sun shines. Seats are very bad.

Everything was very well taken care of and the price for one menu. You really don't see that anywhere anymore. Staff super nice and everything was well organised. The quality of the food can sometimes vary in the various Bregje restaurants. Well here everything was fine. We were 7 people and ordered different things. Actually everything was just fine.

Today April 21, 2025 I would give 5 stars. The eight of us had a lovely meal here at a round table. Choice of tasty vegetarian starters and now 3 good vegetarian main courses, which I saw on the menu and opted for the goat cheese salad. Super friendly, fast service and plenty of tasty fries. Thank you and hope it stays that way. The review below is from a year ago when I gave 2 stars. Regularly eaten at Bregje, but after today it will be the last time. First goat's cheese salad from the menu and today half-baked fries for two people, which immediately makes you say that it could be more and in no time you will have a full bowl of fries, for which you later have to pay 3 euros, which feels like a sneaky euro crumbling, not okay. Concept should be and remain tasty for a good price ratio. Too bad I liked going there.

Full of good expectations from previous good experiences, unfortunately yesterday was not a good experience. After more than an hour of waiting for the main course and asking questions, food finally arrived that looked like the last leftovers of the day, sparsely filled dishes that were dry and tasteless. Ultimately, a free drink was offered as an apology for the long wait, while we got the impression that dessert also took another half hour. We canceled our farewell dinner and ended up getting dessert somewhere else. Too bad this will be our last experience at this restaurant.
