La Place in Wijk 05 Oosterheide

Had breakfast at La Place. It was fine. Friendly staff, ample parking. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and is quite large. Part of La Place and Hotel GR8 are used to house asylum seekers. Nothing against asylum seekers and certainly no nuisance from them, but it doesn't exactly enhance the atmosphere, as asylum seekers walk by barefoot and in shorts with phones in front of them while we were eating.

I had oder the coffee " Latte Caramelo" everytime the same problem. The personal didn't know how to do it right. They made it without slagroom and caramel on top. And everytime when I ask about slagroom, they ask me to pay for that (for slagroom)🤷🏼‍♀️ but in all La Place the same product,no ? So why only in Oosterhout I had such problem.

We went here using Social Deal. The 3-course menu for €14.95 sounds appealing. We chose soup as a starter, but it was a shame we only managed to get two small cups out of it because the soup was gone. It's handy to make a new pot of soup well in advance, not when there's still some left in the current pot. For the main course, we chose satay, which was an extra €2 per person, no problem. It tasted great, and the satay was nice and tender. And ice cream for dessert, but that was packaged, not fresh or soft serve. Paying was also a bit of a struggle. The staff was friendly. The experience was okay, but there's definitely room for improvement.

The place looked neat. Lunch: pumpkin soup and a roll with brie for 7.50. The soup was good, the roll was a bit soggy, not crispy. Brie with some raw rind leaves and raspberries. The combination was good.

I won't forget this experience. Upon entering, I had to go to the restroom first, which negatively impacted the entire experience. Sitting down for my match, I could smell it for the first five minutes. Urine on the floor, next door, a completely clogged toilet, toilet paper out of the holder, paper on the floor—and above all, the stench is indescribable. Simply nauseating, and I'm not very critical. It's fine to outsource something, I understand that, but in my opinion, you still remain responsible for it.

Definitely not recommended. The KFC or McDonald's next door are 100% better choices. We ordered a steak and chicken satay here. The steak turned out to be a cold, disgusting minced meat dish. The chicken satay was made with greasy, tough chicken with satay sauce that had probably been sitting in the pan for a few days. They couldn't provide clean glasses for the two beers we ordered. I'll definitely never come back here. Yuck,,,

Absolutely terrible!!! A steak that was essentially just ground beef, with a strange flavor and lukewarm. No beer glasses for your beer, so you have to drink from the bottle. Very dirty tables, unfriendly, and very incompetent staff. You're better off going to the McDonald's next door.

Hospitable staff, I felt welcome, and I preferred gluten-free food. Homemade tomato basil soup and salad. They were very helpful. There was also plenty of space, including in the parking lot.

The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The food was basically adequate, but we found it a bit lacking. We ordered a few hot plates, but it was very sparse (no sauce, no spices), and you could only get mayo and ketchup for an extra charge. The fries you get with it are an unhealthily large portion. The salad bar wasn't very well stocked; it would have been my first choice, but I decided against it for that reason.

We had to wait a long time for our food, but we were given a drink and ice cream as compensation. The pasta was cold, the steak was dry, the salmon was okay, and the pizza was good. The price-quality ratio was poor!

I ordered a strawberry drink. It tasted bitter, but when I tried to complain to the waiter they refused to hear anything. Saying everything was fresh…. I have never seen poor service as such !

Had a delicious lunch in a very nice atmosphere with excellent service.

I'm not crazy about it. The prices are quite high and especially the breakfast is really poor. Not much choice, but good quality. I was quite disappointed.

The service is self-service and you pay at the cash register, you also have to return your tray yourself. Furthermore, always delicious sandwiches and drinks. I find it quite expensive for a self-service. The atmosphere is good

The food was okay, certainly warm and good portions but nothing too exciting when it comes to taste. It was very quiet in the restaurant and there seemed to be only two staffers which caused small delays but nothing too substantial.

Of course everything has become more expensive and that is understandable, but almost €8.50 for a latte and a regular cup of coffee? Well, that may be the case, but a stop at Laplace is easily skipped!

Had breakfast here regularly. The cheese has actually only gotten better over the years. Fine and sufficient for a normal breakfast.

I used to go to la place often, good food good service friendly staff, I don't go there anymore because I always see a lot of people I know from Oosterhout and then they start asking curious questions again, I will be going to Breda/Bavel for lunch from now on, I don't meet any acquaintances there and no questions either :)

Rarely have I eaten so badly. Chicken satay from the grill that tasted like a hunk of fatty meat. The staff made this known, but they did not really see this as a reason to do something about it or to solve it.

Long wait (about 20 minutes) Not busy, about 5 tables occupied. chicken satay was dry and hard and not very warm. The salmon was very bland and not very warm either.

I see a sturdy lady (cook) put her finger in the soup and then taste it. This really isn't possible.

UPDATE apparently now open according to recent reviews. --- Oh dear... what was is no more: La Place Hazeldonk has disappeared! For years, our dinner there had been a regular fixture at the end of our holidays from the south. So coming home with a full stomach was perfectly arranged. Never thought that the Hazeldonk location could close. Now we drove on to Oosterhout and still had a delicious meal there thanks to the friendly staff. PS Made possible thanks to my digital skills and the La Place app 😊

An attractive location for a stopover. The food is good, but the prices are the same as a star restaurant, but without the service you would expect. The lady and gentlemen were hanging around a bit bored while a 30+ man (the manager) was busy working (December 3 around 5:30 PM)

Where are we going for lunch? I was just looking around and saw a lady with a braid scratching her pimples on her face while preparing sandwiches. Of course everything au naturel without gloves. Well you know...Thanks! I'll go to KFC because at least it's still fried... Hygiene is hard to find!

Understaffed. Warm drinks. Cold grilled cheeses, no soap in toilets. Just a bad experience.

The cooperation with the hotel next door regarding breakfast is very poor and not really "fresh". Tried it once in the evening for dinner. Steak was way too well done and luckily the windows were closed because it was a very small piece. By the way, my wife got a new one when I showed it. The chicken satay was also not really tasty: 1 skewer with 3 small pieces of chicken. The atjar seemed out of date...not fresh and so it was left alone. About hygiene is completely sad. The tables from the day before are just as dirty when you sit down again. Since the trusted V&D is no longer there, things have gone downhill quickly for La Place.

For a stop close to highway, as well as Fast Tesla charging, it’s a good place to take a break and eat something. Food quality is so so, maybe better than KFC and McDonalds next door.

Yesterday I ate tomato soup with my mother. We both had diarrhea. There were flies on the sandwiches. Couldn't make fresh sandwiches, they were gone.

Hair in the hamburger, fruit flies in the smoothie, no cutlery, washing up counter full. Unfortunately... faded glory

Very bad, had to wait a long time, ordered 2 x satay with fries and 1 x chicken burger. When asked, it turned out that the satay was already on the plate with the fries, but they were waiting for the burger. When the burger was ready 10 minutes later, some of the fries from the plates that were with the satay were added to the burger. Satay and fries cold. 17 euros for 1 skewer of cold satay and half a portion of fries. Unfriendly staff, never again La Place for us. Not a fan of Mac Donalds but now regretted it.

Had lunch here today. A bouncer and a loaded fries. It was neatly freshly prepared and taken to a table with a detector. Wait ten minutes and the detector went off and you could pick it up yourself. Was very tasty. Friendly staff. Only the salt and pepper shakers (see photos) on the table could use some soapy water. It was nice and quiet and we had a good meal.

It's a shame that if you eat with two people for €85, you also have to pay for your toilet visit!!

Most importantly it is right next to the highway. It is neat, you can eat quickly, but it really has the atmosphere of a roadside restaurant. The staff doesn't seem super motivated, but they aren't unfriendly either.

A La Place like all the others. On the expensive side. The choice of sandwiches was not wide. There was a lot of noise in the restaurant, a kind of extraction/humming noise. Standing next to a highway would be quieter. The music in the toilets (?) was really loud. All this together makes it a mediocre experience.

It's a lot of fun to sit here inside, it's a pity that you sit right outside in the parking space and it's not really nice to sit there. By the way, the food was really tasty and the steak tasted good.

You have to pay to go to the bathroom after consuming at KFC

The toilet here is really bizarrely bad and you can pay 70 cents for it. 1 was clogged, 1 had no toilet paper and number 3 was downright filthy. The overall look was also raunchy. Bah!

Delicious pastries, but bad coffee. Prices on the high side and staff unfriendly and curt, so you don't really feel welcome.

you pay €17.00 for your steak of less than 100 grams and the ravioli was cold and not worth the price. Reported this to the employee and received the answer: it is true, we hear this complaint all the time, but that is LaPlace's formula. In addition, there are staff who do not know what they are doing and it took an awfully long time before the food was ready. luckily we weren't the only customers who complained about it.

Just walked into La Place and found the following. It is very nice and nice if employees cannot find a babysitter for their own children, but it should not be the case that the children are poking food with their fingers. What a terrible experience. Lentil soup, completely thickened in the pan with dirty edges. I ask if anything can be made of it. Does that boy think he can solve that with a little water? So hopeless. But it was not possible to order a new pan of soup. Cleaning up the incoming order is more important than satisfying guests and generating sales. Ever again.

ASHAMED ! Ridiculous service! Not even possible to pay by card! I received my pizza after an hour and a half of waiting for a mediocre result!

Nice cup of coffee. For the rest, not much new and what they already had in your range, such as the focaccia tuna salad, has not improved. The old recipe was much tastier.

Bus stop on the way to winter sports. Half an hour to eat something. When asked about how long it would take: a few minutes. Paid, but in the end it took a lot longer and the ham was lukewarm. My family wanted KFC, but they had nothing I could eat on their menu. So I popped next door to La Place and found that the staff couldn't do more to help me find something to eat with my dietary requirements. So helpful and friendly. Thank you!

Are you ordering a super satay €17.50, yes people, super satay..... Price-quality ratio has completely missed the mark!

I'm giving you a one star review because you have a fireplace that you don't turn on for safety reasons. Do you know how weird that sounds? It's just an electric one (your staff says), so nothing dangerous about it. Now we drive to Meerkerk, because they don't think it's dangerous 🙂. So extra petrol is also not good for the environment.

Had coffee here. Wasn't really nice and warm and the glasses weren't clean. After reporting this, I received new glasses, but also had a deposit.

This morning (Sunday, November 26) I had a sandwich at La Place Oosterhout. Ordered a delicious coffee with sablé yesterday. It was not in stock and was made fresh in our presence. Behind us this morning were two older people (it was not yet 12 o'clock...) who asked for a sablé from the offer, there was still 1 chocolate sablé but the lady pointed to the delicious sablé on the offer photo...... .no unfortunately it wasn't there, they had to go to something else...but sablé.... no...... and an offer to give apple pie or apple bun for the offer price...... nothing heard of it.... and then to know that there were hardly any guests in the restaurant and the hostesses were well represented, at least 4... very unwelcoming and in addition the restaurant does not have a pleasant appearance due to foreign young people hanging around and walking around with cups of coffee in their hands and especially inextricably linked to telephones and bare feet in slippers. (mostly young men) All this is a bad calling card for this La Place. We often visit the La Place in Nederweert and there is attention for the guest! And if the coffee and pastry offer is not in stock, we will be offered a good alternative.

Great place, always a place to eat.

No apple dumplings, no apple pie, sausage roll, burnt and cold. Last time here.

Seating area is very dated. Food is undeniably good. Only there are hardly any guests. I can't say much about service. The staff could well be service oriented. But I just grabbed some produce and paid for it. There was no real need for service.

3:00 PM There were a few cupcakes (5) and there was no more choice of pastries... everything was gone and nothing more was added when asked. Forks, knives, pastry forks, coffee spoons not present.... Young staff who did little or nothing.... Other customers were also very surprised. Very unfortunate and the first time this happened in Oosterhout. I don't think all of this is necessary with the right staff.

Staff was super friendly but pumpkin spice just tasted like latte and the apple nut pie came from the freezer; swampy.

Food took a long time, food was lukewarm and not complete, very unfortunate.

I think the worst thing is that you have to pay 70 cents for the toilet, which is already a lot, and when you get there you can first clean the seat of the toilet yourself because it has been peed on and 1 of the 3 toilets even had poop splatter on it, which is scandalous.

Despite the language barrier, friendly help was provided at the counter. The man being knocked out in the toilet was also an unexpected twist, but that didn't spoil the fun. After getting some dry sandwiches, we picked a beautiful spot by the window with this great view as you can see in the photo. A positive experience all around!

A steak (JE), a small handful of fries and only iceberg lettuce without added dressing or other vegetables as garnish and this for €17.50, this amount was absolutely not worth it for what was served on the plate. What was very disturbing is the in-out walk from the adjacent hotel GR8 to La place restaurant. Young adults/youth continuously walked in and out of the restaurant (noisily) and walked to an adjacent room of the restaurant. Some ran after each other through the restaurant as if they were playing tag, while people were eating in the restaurant. Perhaps La Place Oosterhout should sit down with the neighboring hotel and make certain arrangements for these certain (azc) hotel guests to enter the restaurant or provide another entrance and exit for their hotel guests. I regularly come here to La place Oosterhout, but unfortunately this will be the last time. The reason for this is that the food has deteriorated far from what I am normally used to from La Place Oosterhout and the atmosphere and experience are now lacking due to disruptive hotel guests and this is not the first time I have experienced this. That's why I'm posting a review.

Great for stopping along the way and charging the car. Staff were helpful and made a fresh sandwich. Coffee tasted good too. But otherwise little atmosphere in the restaurant. But again as a stop it is fine.

I do NOT understand why no one here makes a comment about the enormous nuisance caused by the status holders who constantly walk through the restaurant... it's like an AZC here. Or will Google label these reports as "hate speech" and delete them? It is too bizarre for words, this LaPlace apparently shares the building with the hotel and all day long these people walk through the restaurant talking loudly and sometimes shouting/yelling. You can beat around the bush all you want, but this doesn't work and is very disturbing.

The three of us had a nice meal, didn't feel like going to Burger King next door, what a shame we regretted that, fries were limp and fukkking expensive medium fries 4.85 ridiculous hamburger was also a limp sandwich, fries for my daughter, they were forgotten and in short mediocre yet bad. Better do McDonalds across the street. Fresh fruit juice is very expensive, and in general the food is too expensive. The only plus point, the toilets were clean.

Nice, a toilet with all kinds of slogans about less energy-wasting 'sustainable' taps and hand dryers... but then you can't even fill a bottle of water because hot water comes out of these taps.. The alternative is to buy a bottle of drink in de la place.. Economically a wonderful move, but it is at odds with that 'sustainable' approach... ??

Breakfast buffet (until 11:00 am) with lots of choice for only €12.50. Unlimited sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, etc. Play area for little ones, terrace and free WiFi. Friendly staff.

Had dinner here on Saturday (3 fries and a toasted sandwich) and it took an hour. The cheese on the sandwich was not melted. I should also mention that 3 out of 5 chefs did not wear gloves while preparing the food.

Sad... When we arrived at half past seven, I had the impression that they were already setting up. Furthermore, the vegetable buffet, so sad that I had something with chicken, it didn't taste like it. Son had a pizza, burnt. My wife a hamburger where the inside was burnt. I would have preferred McDonalds and I think that is very bad.

The floor was sticky everywhere, the choice was very limited, we wanted to go for lunch but quickly walked into the neighbors (KFC) which all looked and tasted much better. In short, I won't go to la place anymore.
