We had ordered something to drink and wanted to take a quick look at what we were going to eat. After waiting for about 45 minutes and indicating several times that we wanted to order something, we went to pay and left without eating, because they just wouldn't come to take our order.

To start with, we were given the wrong drinks, had to wait 45 minutes for our food only to receive part of the order incorrectly, and then received the food 20 minutes later, cold (portion of gyoza), something that really only takes 5 minutes to make. Absolutely terrible, a shame that the owner runs almost the entire harbor, so you basically run into this everywhere..

Iconic location, shameful business management. Waited more than an hour for food that never arrived. Totally uninterested staff who seem to avoid eye contact and interaction with guests above all else. There is a complete lack of leadership, responsibility, and hospitality expertise. We have been coming here for years, but eventually left angry and will not be returning. A terrible shame for such a beautiful establishment.

I am not satisfied with the service of this restaurant, the waiter and the bartender are not polite at all. My friend and I ordered food, which did not arrive after more than 1 hour. After waiting for 1 hour+, we asked the waiter to check what was happening and he said that he would, that he had to check with the kitchen. We did not receive any feedback on what was happening with our food, but after about 15 minutes we saw the waiter going home after his shift. The restaurant was not full of people. So we decided to go to the bar to pay for the drinks and cancel our food. The bartender said that we only waited 20 minutes, which is not true, so it is possible that the waiter forgot about our order. Why do I have to leave a comment here for everyone to see is: the point is not that our food did not arrive, but the way they treat customers. The bartender and the waiter did not apologize to us, sorry, it does not exist in their dictionary, we did not receive any feedback from the waiter about where our food is, but rather ignoring it. After our inquiry, the waiter went out several times and didn't say anything to us. Please work on your communication with customers and learn to apologize and be normal. Until then, thank you, no thank you.

Had to wait 75 minutes for some rolls and soup - certainly doesn't seem to be an isolated case, looking at the other reviews “Lavender Berry Breeze” was more like blackcurrant with some frozen fruit Avoid until the owner fixes it or finds a new owner. What a terrible experience we had today (Saturday, August 15, 2026). We sat down on the terrace at 12:00. But at 1:00 PM, we still hadn't received our lunch. Even though the very unfriendly and, above all, rude bartender said it was on its way (yeah right, after half an hour it still hadn't arrived). Eventually, we asked a waiter, who said he would go ask, but we never heard the outcome. One guest after another left. Not surprising. But lunch did occasionally appear for people who were sitting on the terrace later than us. We eventually paid for our drinks and left, and just bought a sandwich somewhere else. The toilets weren't clean either. Toilet paper and hand wash were out of stock. Somewhere near the stairs stood a plant... well, not really a plant, a piece of wood with dead leaves. The furniture was also old and broken. A shame, a real shame, because in the past we really enjoyed eating here and it was a pleasant atmosphere. Downright bad!

We wanted to grab a quick lunch, but then had to wait more than an hour for a salmon sandwich… Or rather, we didn't even get it in the end.. it took too long so we left, really a shame. We saw several people on the terrace waiting a long time for their food. Then food was brought to people who arrived much later, while we still got nothing, and other people who had been waiting just as long got nothing either.. this is really bad!

Terrible service. I think we sat there for 20 minutes, asked five times if we could be helped, and were brushed off every time with: "I'll be right there, I'm sending someone." After 20 minutes, we got up and left. Then the waitress did look over and wanted to come our way, but by then it was way too late.

We had to wait 1.5 hours for our sandwiches for lunch, and then received sandwiches without everything that was supposed to be on them according to the menu.

I had to wait a long time before someone came to take my order; the mess left by the previous people hadn't been cleared away yet. Then, after half an hour, I just walked inside to see where our drinks were. I was immediately told it was busy. My answer was: then you need to have more staff working. It's unacceptable that I have to wait half an hour for drinks. I was told I could sit down and they would bring them right away. I said: forget it, and told them I would go somewhere else.

Waited an incredibly long time for lunch. The staff does their best but is young, inexperienced, and understaffed. The food is not average. The spot on the quay stinks of stale beer and is littered with nightlife trash.

Very poor service, cold coffee, half the order because cold and hot drinks are served separately and you have to wait longer for cold drinks than hot ones and on a Saturday with only 3 staff members, then choose to close your place because this is not service

What a farce. First you have to wait 20 minutes for someone to come. Cappuccino and a Coke Zero. After 10 minutes the coffee arrives. Then 10 minutes later the Coke Zero. Apparently, it is all very difficult.

Worthless service and repeated mistakes – not recommended! I’ve been leaving here disappointed far too often by now. It started a few weeks ago: the service was downright bad when the waitstaff claimed they didn't have half-liter beers, only to admit that they were indeed on the menu after I showed them the menu myself. Next, I couldn't order a plate of bar snacks without shrimp, unless I explicitly mentioned that I have an allergy to them. As if that is necessary to make a simple adjustment. Unfortunately, I gave it another chance today, but it only got worse. First, I had to wait an incredibly long time before anyone even came to take my order. Naturally, I ordered a plate of bar snacks without shrimp again, but imagine my surprise? This time, they were just casually mixed in with the rest! When I refused this, I fortunately received a new portion, but this time all the spring rolls were completely burnt. When I complained about that, I was fobbed off with a meager compensation on my beer. This isn't hospitality; this is just amateurism. For me, it was the last time here!

We made a reservation for dinner tonight via the website and received a confirmation by email. Once there, we were told that dinner was not being served due to a staff shortage. This is odd, considering you have to indicate what you are coming for when making a reservation (dinner, in this case). No email, no phone call. They said they had forgotten. This was supposed to be the first time we ate here, but instead of being the first, it turned out to be the last. Judging by the reviews, it is not the first time there has been such terrible service. Afterward, we walked over to Beer en Beefs, where we knew for sure that both the food and the service would be top-notch.

Food? Yes, she said there was no food to order. Only snacks… service was slow and bad. And the atmosphere was terrible too, because all the customers on the terrace were really unhappy with this place. (The toilet was broken too)

Authentic Helmond with plenty of choices for good food and drinks. With a very cozy atmosphere....

14.20 for a small sandwich with a bit of carpaccio and lots of greens on an oversized plate without any garnish is a bit excessive. Otherwise, I had a pleasant afternoon.

Service uninterested, the same ordered dishes were not brought to everyone at the same time, 4 people ate, after 30 minutes the next portion was brought for the other 3 people. Sangria is watery, ratio is wrong. No, unfortunately a big disappointment, a shame.

Placed an order and after 15 minutes still hadn't received anything. I spoke to the waiter about this, but he said it was on its way. Then he came back to ask what we had ordered, a cola and a cappuccino. I don't think waiting that long for that is okay, so I said I didn't need it anymore and left. Such rude staff. Such a bad establishment.

It is going downhill fast. Sitting inside (or outside) for 10 minutes and not even a "Good afternoon" from the staff. You are becoming invisible here more and more often lately. Very poor service, and on sunny days many tables on the terrace are reserved only to remain empty for a long time; naturally, as a business, this is the stupidest thing you can do. It is Friday evening (just before 9:30), the weather is lovely, so my husband and I decide to sit on the terrace at De Bank for a bit. Just to wrap up the week nicely. We pick an empty table, and after 5 minutes, a member of staff comes to tell us that due to a staff shortage, they cannot serve all tables, and that only the tables with a menu are open this evening. We have to search and wait for a bit, but we have a table. The wait staff walks past several times without clearing the dirty glasses from our table and without taking our order. When we finally manage to get through to a young lady, we are told that we cannot order from her, that we have to go to her colleague!? She is making a long detour, but we do manage to get through. We want to order a platter of snacks and are told that nothing more can be prepared. So, we were sent from pillar to post for over 20 minutes only to be told that we can no longer order anything from the bar menu. In that case, we don't want to drink either. The food here used to be delicious, but these young girls haven't understood/learned how to work efficiently and keep many customers satisfied. It's a real shame; they could have so easily earned €50 from us.

We had lunch here last Wednesday. Taking the order took a long time, and serving the food also took a very long time. Worn-out chairs and dirty furniture if you sit at a high table on the first section of the (indoor) terrace. The staff pays no attention to guests who are not sitting in their path. They certainly didn't invent cheerfulness here. It doesn't matter who you are with; don't sit here if you like quick and attentive service. They don't have that here! Or they are so well hidden that we didn't see them. The toilets aren't really clean either, and one was broken. A sort of large branch in the doorway of the ladies' toilet served as a towel holder for the paper roll; a bit weird. Atmospheric restaurant inside, but that pales in comparison when viewed this way. I paid quickly when we were finished eating. Next time, I won't spend my money here.

After 45 minutes, lunch was finally served… One of the two fried eggs was completely burnt black on the bottom. The waitress wanted to resolve it properly, but the manager offered to take a drink off the bill. Explanation: new people in the kitchen, they said they couldn't do anything about it. In a word, ridiculous.

My wife and I had a truly delicious meal tonight; lovely ambiance and very friendly and pleasant service! We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

An extraordinary atmosphere, a beautiful location by the canal, excellent service, and delicious food. If you happen to be in the area, you should definitely try the chips and fries, or consider having potatoes and a beer. I strongly advise against missing out if you're ever in this area.

People had to wait a long time, but it was mostly pleasantly busy (not too crowded). Note: A family arrived who were dissatisfied and asked for a different seat. Tip: make sure they have a pleasant visit too. It was my first time here.

BAD AND BAD AGAIN DON'T GO HERE

Delicious food at a reasonable price. They have excellent pasta with prawns, but you can also order meat or fish dishes.

We had to wait 15 minutes to order, and after waiting over 45 minutes without our drinks (a beer and a cocktail), we canceled our food and drinks. It's worth mentioning that it was very busy; there were four people at the bar and five waiters. Frankly, the problem is management pessimism. Don't waste your time here!

Warning! Check the bill before paying. €14.80 for two hot chocolates without whipped cream. When I commented on that, I was reprimanded. €7.40 turned out to be the correct amount. The staff has absolutely no experience in the restaurant industry! See also Mark's comment from two weeks ago about the prices. We will never be back either.

Never book breakfast here. We did, unfortunately, and when we arrived at 10:00 AM, we were told the kitchen wasn't open yet. But we were allowed to sit down and eventually got something to drink. When I asked 45 minutes later if they were already preparing breakfast, they said they had to wait until the cook came in. We ended up eating somewhere else. So save yourself the trouble.

What a mistake to have lunch here. The chicken sandwich was lukewarm, but that's okay. The prices on the menu differ from the price you have to pay. Agreed, but no more.

In the summer of June 2025, there was a wait due to staffing. But we had a nice lunch.

Had a very nice high tea and the service was great

Too bad, we've been there before and it was great, but this time it wasn't so great. We sat by the water, and after 13 minutes still no waiter. When we went inside, a waiter arrived after a few minutes.

There's nothing wrong with having a drink there, but it takes a really long time to be served. The food is truly disappointing. I ordered the spareribs, but they had more fat than meat, yuck. The accompanying sauces were already discolored, so who knows how long they've been sitting out. The plates and cutlery weren't completely clean, nor was the entire interior. Definitely not going back!

Not very satisfied with this restaurant. My meat wasn't cooked properly. I sent it back. The second time, it wasn't much better.

Today I ordered a salad that was delicious, until I found a hair in my mouth. Reported this to the waitress, but heard nothing back. I asked for the bill from someone else, who asked if everything was to my satisfaction. It wasn't. I reported the hair again, and she said, "My colleague must have passed it on, but I can't do anything about it now." I really don't expect a full refund, but an "apology" or something similar would have been appropriate. It's a real shame; I won't be coming back for a while.

Ik kom hier al jaren ongeveer één keer per maand samen met mijn broer. Meestal prima gegeten, maar afgelopen zondag ging het flink mis. Bij binnenkomst werden we totaal niet begroet, terwijl er vier personeelsleden bij de bar stonden. Uiteindelijk zelf maar een plek gezocht. Pas na vijf minuten kwam iemand de bestelling opnemen. We bestelden twee pilsjes, twee keer carpaccio, één kipsaté en voor de afwisseling deze keer truffelpasta. Na enige tijd kwam het eten. Aan de twee stokjes van de kipsaté zat weinig vlees, en het beetje dat er wél op zat, was droog en bijna zwartgeblakerd. De truffelpasta was een groot bord pasta met paddenstoelen, een witte saus en daar bovenop een dot salade. De smaak was flauw, het gerecht was niet echt warm en had een zurige bijsmaak – waarschijnlijk door de dressing over de salade. We gaven aan dat de saté niet goed was. De bediening zei “sorry” en nam het bord mee, er zou een nieuwe komen. Ondertussen heb ik de truffelpasta geprobeerd, maar na een paar happen was ik er klaar mee. Toen we ook daarover iets zeiden, bood de bediening aan om een nieuwe te halen, maar ze gaf erbij aan dat ze niet kon garanderen dat die anders zou smaken. Als tegemoetkoming konden we twee biertjes van het huis krijgen… Toen de nieuwe saté werd gebracht (die wél van de gebruikelijke kwaliteit was), heb ik mijn bord pasta meegegeven – ik vond het gewoon niet te eten. De bediening zei opnieuw “sorry” en zou het doorgeven aan de keuken. Als ik kok was en mijn gerechten kwamen terug, zou ik me toch even laten zien. Dingen kunnen misgaan, dat snap ik. Maar het gaat erom hoe je het oplost. En dat gebeurde hier dus niet. Geen betrokkenheid, geen uitleg, geen excuses vanuit de keuken – helemaal niks. Uiteindelijk werd ons nog gevraagd of we gebruik wilden maken van het aanbod van de gratis biertjes. We hebben toen gewoon de rekening gevraagd en gezegd dat ze het bier maar van de rekening moesten halen. Dat stond er eerst nog gewoon op, maar werd er uiteindelijk wel afgehaald. Bij het weggaan kregen we een vriendelijk “tot ziens”, maar ik denk eerlijk gezegd niet dat het er nog van komt.

I've been coming here about once a month with my brother for years. The food is usually excellent, but last Sunday it went terribly wrong. Upon arrival, we weren't greeted at all, even though four staff members were standing at the bar. We ended up finding a seat ourselves. It took five minutes for someone to come and take our order. We ordered two beers, two carpaccios, one chicken satay, and, for a change, truffle pasta this time. After a while, the food arrived. The two chicken satay skewers had very little meat on them, and the little that was there was dry and almost charred. The truffle pasta was a large plate of pasta with mushrooms, a white sauce, and a dollop of salad on top. The flavor was bland, the dish wasn't very warm, and had a sour aftertaste—probably from the salad dressing. We told the staff that the satay wasn't good. The staff apologized and took the plate away, saying they would bring a new one. Meanwhile, I tried the truffle pasta, but after a few bites, I was done with it. When we mentioned that, the server offered to get a new one, but added that she couldn't guarantee it would taste any different. As a compensation, we were offered two beers on the house… When the new satay was brought (which was of the usual quality), I left my plate of pasta behind – I simply couldn't eat it. The server apologized again and said they would pass it on to the kitchen. If I were the chef and my dishes came back, I would show up. Things can go wrong, I get that. But it's all about how you resolve them. And that didn't happen here. No involvement, no explanation, no apologies from the kitchen – nothing. Finally, we were asked if we wanted to take advantage of the free beer offer. We simply asked for the bill and told them to take the beer off the bill. It was still on the bill at first, but it was eventually removed. We received a friendly “goodbye” when leaving, but I honestly don't think it will happen again.

Avoid - my kids got sick from the food!! From tomato soup!! How hard can it be? So salty and disgusting - 🤢 - the spare ribs were more fat than meat, the chicken pieces were dry and tasted like refried from an old batch - incredibly disgusting food. I'm afraid I'll have to file a complaint with a food inspector because it was a mess inside too - the toilets were filthy, the chairs, tables, and floor were dirty. This place should be closed, at least the kitchen. I came here on my way through, but thankfully I'll never come back. I wish I'd googled it!! Haha, what a disgrace and a waste of my time and money.

Delicious lunch, cozy atmosphere

After 15 years as a customer at De Bank, yesterday was definitely the last time. The staff hadn't been great in recent years, partly due to staff shortages, but yesterday was a real surprise. I was sitting on the terrace with a friend, explaining something to the waitress about the man sitting next to us who kept trying to give everyone drinks. This girl apparently got so emotional that a young man, Bob, the so-called manager, approached us and, already irritated, started to argue with my friend. My friend was taken aback and defended herself, and Bob immediately took our food and drinks away right in front of me! When I followed him, he was clearly even more irritated, raised his voice, and shouted after me across the restaurant that his name was Bob. The people on the terrace were as surprised as we were by this behavior. Well done, manager Bob, you're truly a good example for your colleagues and the customers!

The waiter hasn't come for 20 minutes, even after asking several times.

Wat een teleurstelling en aanfluiting. Plaatsgenomen op terras van dit restaurant op een echte A-lokatie voor een lunch. Bestelling opnemen ging soepel en redelijk snel. 20 minuten later kwam men echter vertellen dat de kip/ truffel salade op was. ??. Of we het bestelde lunchplankje nog wilden of een ander gerecht wilden, de kok zou wel iets anders verzinnen voor de ontbrekende kip/truffel salade. 35 minuten later hebben we toch de ober vriendelijk verzocht dat we echt trek hadden en al heeeeel lang aan het wachten waren. De ober ging direct navraag doen en kwam ons 10 minuten later vertellen dat het nog 5 minuutjes zou duren. We hebben netjes aangegeven dat dit ook onze uiterste wachttijd zou zijn en anders zouden we vertrekken. Echt op de laate minuut werd uitgeserveerd. Werkelijk een bord vol met teleurstellingen. Broodje ham/kaas was overduidelijk al vroeg in de ochtend bereid en de kaas zag er niet meer fris uit. De vervanging van de kip/truffelsalade was een culinair wonder: grote stronken verlepte sla met een eitje en gedroogde tomaat met pijnboompitjes en dressing. Bestek wat werd vertrekt was ronduit smerig en werd op verzoek vervangen. Nee, hier hebben ze geen indruk op ons gemaakt. Een slechte ervaring.

In principle a nice terrace to sit. But the service could be friendlier. The dark young man (with eyebrow line) who came to take the order asked nothing and said nothing in the form of can it be or something like that. A simple "yes" he seemed to find sufficient. I can imagine that you are having a bad day or do not feel like working. But then go behind the bar and leave the service to people who do have sufficient standards of decency. Also you do not see what you order because the drink is served in small vases. So you gamble that the cola zero is really zero.

Beautiful weather, terrace filled for max 1/4. Arrival at 14:33 and left at 14:57.....still no one at my table. This seems to be standard here.....

Had a high tea yesterday with my wife. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Definitely recommended.

Nice place with good food if you want to sit outside and people watch, but have plenty of time, because it takes a long time to order and get food/drinks. Nice waitress, but the overall experience is let down a bit by poor attention to customers, unfortunately.

Nice service, they have a good overview of their guests and do their best to please the guests. The food was delicious, the new sateburger is highly recommended.

Heerlijk gegeten op het terras van Proeverij de Bank. Genoten van een eerste zomerse dag van La Trappe Blond en een schnitzel met Stroganof saus. Niet een bijzonder gerecht maar bovengemiddeld lekker eten!

I think they already have enough money here because we were not asked to drink anything. We had to ask for drinks ourselves, it took an hour. We had to ask for everything ourselves! What a service. Our table was not cleared and was completely full.

Good service, problem solved well and nicely. We've been here before and plan to come back again! Thank you for the good care.

Was een waardeloze lunch! Twee lauwe kroketten op een boterham, het"ambachtelijke" brood is gewoon casino van de jumbo en dat lag er ook al een paar dagen uit. Zo droog als de kont van sinterklaas. Nee, ook al wonen we om de hoek. Hier gaan we nooit meer heen . Ik vraag me ook af of ze iets met reviews dien. Ik zag dat ze wel reageren op goede recensies, maar voor een goed restaurant hebben ze nog veel te leren. Bediening was ok door de vrouwelijke bedienden, wat we hadden aan mannelijke, die flikkeren het op tafel en zijn weer weg. We vroeger om een glaasje water, krijg je meteen een halve liter speciaal water. Nou, dat wilden we niet... kan het niet een gewoon glaasje water zijn?? Kortom: dit is een restaurant om NIET heen te gaan, eten lala, bediening lala. Er zijn daar vlakbij ook goede lunch restaurants!!!! En ook die een beter diner serveren!

Had dinner once years ago and it was ok then. Today we went for lunch but it was very disappointing. Two lukewarm croquettes on so-called artisan bread, but that was jumbo casino and super dry too. From now on, look elsewhere.

The restaurant looks cozy and has a nice terrace on the water outside. Food is also perfectly fine. Unfortunately the service is not that good. Forgot to bring drinks, food didn't all arrive at the same time, no interest, inexperienced.

The idea was to have dinner after the cinema (Pathé), so we made a reservation on Friday. We went to eat elsewhere with 4 people. It wasn't busy at all, several staff members walked past me while waiting and the 2 people behind the bar that I asked to eat literally said nothing... but shouted after another member. This one "had to look at it" And wait again. In the meantime, people could answer the phone and make reservations. After +-8 minutes in an empty shop with enough empty spaces; I made a good choice.

Despite the crowds on Saturday afternoon, we were helped quickly and very friendly with taking our order. The food was delicious. We will definitely come back!

We recently had dinner with you, but unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations. Even though it was not busy, we had to wait more than an hour for our food. When it was finally served it was cold and some of the ordered items were missing. In addition, we found the service to be substandard. The staff was not hospitable and no appropriate solution was offered for the mistakes made. The general appearance of the restaurant also looked messy. Given this experience we will not return. We hope that you will consider this valuable feedback and make improvements in the areas of service, organization and customer friendliness.

Het was erg druk en we werden gelijk heel vriendelijk gewaarschuwd dat het wel even ging duren. Heel netjes. En achteraf viel het best mee. De plank met ons 12 uurtje was uitstekend. Maar hoe het management het tap bier op kaart zet is belachelijk en grenst aan oplichterij : er staan drie Bavaria pilsjes op de kaart. Een gewone (kleine), een medium en een grote. Er staan geen inhouds maten bij. De medium die ik kreeg was 20cl. De kleine wordt waarschijnlijk in een borrelglas getapt...

After walk it's good place to relax, we have some food , quality was really good , waitress was amazing , all together was nice experience.

Come there more often, nice terrace on the water. Nice tent inside, good staff. Recommended!!!

Been here in the past with a positive experience. Looks like it doesn't have the same owner anymore. After more than 5 to 10 minutes we asked if we could order something. There is a lot of dust on the edge of the mug (green in color, very dirty, looked like mold). Report this to the boy walking around there, he barely reacts and walks away after which he comes back with 2 napkins and throws them on the table, so apparently I can use this to clean my mug. After a long wait we finally get our sandwich, completely burnt (just black). We immediately say it has been burned, there is no response, we are asked if we need a knife and fork. Seriously, you have to ask this... I think the standard knife and fork should be placed on the table. But no, we don't need that and neither does that sandwich. Immediately decided to pay, the waitress handled this nicely. The service gets 2 stars because of the waitresses who were there today. The boys who worked there today, sadly, do not belong in the catering industry. Ohh and the thick cobwebs in front of the windows don't look very fresh either with the flies and junk in them.

We had to wait a long time for the food even though there were few guests, and when the food arrived it was the worst fish I have ever eaten. , I had stomach problems after dinner, the second course was no better, the cutlet was dry, the only thing that was tasty were the fries
