Food was okay, portions not very generous. We were 3 people and ordered meat combo for 3, but it it felt like they didn’t increase amount of meat there. Also, they were not bringing additional Inera (bready pancakes) as it’s done in other places. Interior was nice, same as service.

Everything was excellent. The food was wonderful and the service was great.

Simply the best place to eat Ethiopian cuisine, and I've already visited many Ethiopian restaurants here in the Netherlands. The food is incredibly fresh, made to order, the prices are average, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is quite hidden, near Vondel Park. This restaurant also deserves its well-deserved 5 stars. Try it and believe it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We came for an early dinner. It’s a pretty chilled restaurant with nice furnishing and vibrant colors. When we arrived they had music playing but it was turned off shortly after. The food is good although I didn’t like the steak. It tasted a bit underdone. The other meat dishes were pretty tasty and so was the pumpkin. They offer gluten free breads but the server mentioned that you need to order them in advance. We were lucky that they were available. Overall a good restaurant but the food takes a while to arrive so best not to arrive too hungry.

Queen of Sheba in Amsterdam is absolutely Amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—you can taste the love in every dish. Average taste . Not the great experience that i expected from the reviews

Simple restaurant, a bit off the touristic path in Amsterdam with incredible food at decent prices. We went there two evenings for dinner, had the lentil soup (recommended) for starters and then the Sheba platter, which is sort of a mixture of 3 meat and 3 vegetarian plates. More than enough for 2. And what's more: the very friendly owner of the restaurant remembered us from the night before and put different food on the platter the second day. Try the Ma Suwa beer with the food, you won't be disappointed. Also if you are allergic to gluten (like my wife is) she serves you an injeera made exclusively from teff flour and not the usual mixture of wheat and teff. This is gonna cost you a bit more but is well worth it. Great place and we really regretted that we had to go home again, otherwise we would have spent a third evening there.

Long waiting time, but the food is worth it.

It's beautifully located, so you can also sit outside. The vegan platter was delicious!

The owner is very nice and friendly, good communication even via phone. They speak both English and Dutch as well. Good food especially the Sheba mixed.

Best food I have ever had. We came to Amsterdam for 3 nights and went here for 2 of them. The service and atmosphere is incredible and we highly recommend you must come here to try their amazing food! Very good for vegetarian and gluten-free options too.

Being a fan of Ethiopian food, I was excited to find this place close to my airbnb. Tried shiro wot and misir wot and they both were delicious. But the highlight was the injeer. I’ve been to many Ethiopian restaurants in the states but never had injeer so soft, fluffy and light as this place. Don’t miss this place, especially if you’re a vegetarian!

The food is amazing. I was told by a friend to try it out but it would take a while to get the food because it’s cooked fresh. We went right as they open as we have a 2 year old. It did take a decent amount of time to get the food, but it was amazing and I would 100% go back.

I've been going here for a while now, and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh and full of flavour. It can take a bit of time to come out, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The people are super friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine, this is the place to go!

Gran sabor, grandes porciones y carne muy bien cocinada. ¡Es un menú para compartir, así que probamos de todo! Y no puedo elegir un plato favorito, ¡pero diría que la calabaza, las verduras enfriadas y la carne de res destacaron!

Very nicely lighted (not too bright) and decorated restaurant. The staff is really kind and patient and the service was quick. The food was delicious, a good variety of tastes. We had the vegetarian mix. I never had Ethiopian food, but this was such a delightful first. 2 of the six portions were a bit spicy for me (I'm dutch), but my girlfriend could handle them. I reccomend to go here!

The people are very sweet, it feels more like being at someone's home than eating out. Located in a nice residential area, which further enhances that feeling. The food is excellent, there is a lot to experience on your plate, different flavors, textures, vegetables, meat. For me one of the better quality/price ratios in restaurants in Amsterdam. You go home happy, the food is healthy, and the bill is always very reasonable and fair. Can definitely highly recommend it!

Nice and quiet Ethiopian restaurant. The service was top notch. The food was delicious as usual. We went on a weekday so it was quiet and the atmosphere was really relaxing. We ordered the Sheba mix with which you can choose three meat varieties and three vegetarian varieties and it was a good choice. Highly recommended if you want to try Ethiopian food.

Fabulous.....It seems to be our quest to find Ethiopian restaurants in as many cities as possible. Luckily they rarely disappoint. The Queen is no exception! Fabulous food, full of flavour, all in a terrific restaurant vibe. Definitely recommend highly!!

Really happy we found this place, the food is delicious. I love having a mix of dishes I can jump between to enjoy the different flavours on offer. Staff are lovely and overall it has a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. Also the fruity beer is nice! Don't be put off by some of the other comments. Can't wait to go back

Great food, good atmosphere, cool cat and dog friendly

Ik was voor de derde keer in dit restaurant. En net als de voorgaande twee keer was het eten overheerlijk. Heerlijke gerechten, mooi gekruid. De ontvangst was heel vriendelijk. Wat ik ook heel fijn aan dit restaurant vind is dat het voor vegetariërs een goede plek is om te eten. Er is volop keuze. De sfeer is gezellig en de muziek leuk. Kortom: top!

Mi marido y yo volvimos recientemente de Amsterdam, y visitamos a la reina de Saba en nuestra primera noche. Amsterdam tiene diversas opciones de cocina, y elegimos Quern of Sheba inicialmente hasta las opciones veganas. Tengo intolerancia a los lácteos y a la soja, pero esto no era un problema para el menú aquí. Al llegar al restaurante, me encantó conocer al gato de jengibre residente Frankie durmiendo alegremente en una pila de sillas justo al lado de la entrada. Frankie no vive en el restaurante, pero vive localmente y visita cuando hace frío. Él no es un callejero, pero cuidado por los residentes locales. Es saludable y amable, pero no interfiere con los huéspedes cuando están comiendo, pero le dará la bienvenida a un frotamiento de vientre ❤️ De todos modos, el dueño era tan amable cuando llegamos, y pedimos un plato vegano para compartir, que tenía una combinación de verduras, frijoles y lentejas platos colocados en deliciosos panqueques esponjosos. Creo que estos eran platos tradicionales etíopes, tan sabrosos! Un consejo, sin embargo: tome desinfectante de manos ya que este es un plato que se come con los dedos. A la vuelta a Glasgow, hemos encontrado un restaurante etíope local, y estamos buscando ver si es tan bueno como nuestra introducción a esta cocina en Amsterdam. Un excelente restaurante que sirve comida y bebida africana fresca. Compartí un plato vegano a un precio razonable con mi esposa con unas cervezas. Toda la comida era deliciosa y llena. El personal era estupendo , amable y servicial y Franky el gato residente era un saludo de bienvenida en la puerta principal. Sin duda volvería! Gran elección si eres vegano también. Muchas opciones.

It was my first time eating Ethiopian food and it was delicious! The amount of food was sufficient, and eating food with my hands was a lot of fun and a good memory for me! ah! And the store clerks were all friendly and nice! Thanks to you, I had a great evening ♡

The person who welcomed us was very kind and attentive. Here the dishes are shared and it’s a real treat. For our children who are less tolerant of spicy foods, they were able to offer us little arrangements in their dishes. They also enjoyed themselves… and were able to eat with their fingers 😉.

First of all, an announcement for Dutch people who have never eaten in a traditional African (and sometimes also Arabic) restaurant: you eat with your hands, and all the food comes in small piles on one large plate. There were three of us, so the three of us ate from the same plate. The food is on top of injera. These are a kind of large pancakes, made from teff flour. The idea is to tear off pieces of injera and eat it together with the rest. Our order was doro wot (2 chicken legs + 1 egg + Berber sauce) and ktfo (beef pieces + butter + herbs). The ktfo is called gored gored on the menu. When you order something, it comes with injeras and different types of vegetables as standard. I was positively surprised by the wide variety of ingredients, herbs, and flavors we received. The structure of the injera was good. The meat was wonderfully tender and soft. It was really very tasty. I would love to come back here again.

Our first time trying Ethiopian food. The food was AMAZING, flavorful and wasn't too spicy for my weak American taste buds. These people were so kind and we enjoyed our dinner.

We visited here one night at 10:30 pm in search of fresh cooked food, later than the typical restaurant closing time. Not only did they keep the kitchen open for us, it was probably one of the best Ethiopian meals I’ve had. The atmosphere is fun too with board games and such, which I wish we had time for. I can certainly see myself returning to this spot to try more things on the menu. We had the meat combo the first time around and it was ALL meat, and the stewed lamb was the clear winner.

Went here months ago as I really wanted some kitfo. When I arrived there was no one and they also didn't have kitfo on the menu. I asked the owner, this charming Ethiopian lady, and she said that not a lot of people actually like the original kitfo so that's why she didn't put it in the menu. I told her to try me so she cooked it just for me and..oh boy, it was amazing!! My friends also ordered a mix of veg plates, as well as the awaze tibs (extra tasty as well). I recommend!

The food is amazing and a very friendly host which cooks and serves the food herself.

We had to wait for 1,5 hours for our food!!!! Really 1,5 hours! It seems that they didn't even feel bad about it. If you want to go there just make sure you are there at 4 o'clock to be able to eat at 6. Food although was delicious.

A real gem that goes under the radar in Amsterdam, this is the first place I bring any visitors I have from out of town. The food is actually 10/10 and the place feels so homie & cosy! Also really good decor.

Cozy Ethiopian restaurant with nice staff. Food was nice and definitely something new that I haven’t tasted, furthermore you eat with your hands which was fun. Atmosphere was ok. We tried a mango flavoured Ethiopian mongozo beer which I wouldn’t recommend.

Lekker gegeten twee maanden geleden ongeveer. Maaltijd portie vond ik wat klein, maar de prijs dan ook weer prima. De smaken waren verfijnd, pittig zoals je mag verwachten van deze keuken. Glas van het bier was niet schoon, verder de bediening ok maar zonder gesprekje (misschien door taalbarriere?). Wel met regelmaat even aandacht of alles naar wens was, wel zelf voor extra brood moeten vragen toen ik de bediening een tijdje niet zag. Service en sfeer beide ok en dus 3 sterren, eten lekker en dus 4 sterren. Samen 4 sterren omdat het eten voor mij het zwaarst weegt.

Heerlijk afwisselend en vers. De vegetarische mix dish was een feest van smaken. Superlekker en zeer betaalbaar. Heel mooi tentje in de luwte van de stad gerund door zeer gastvrije mensen. Aanrader!

A small restaurant with a good Ethiopian food. They have Bedele beer (Ethiopian beer). We had the Sheba special which I liked (the 'Misr' was a bit average other than that all good..). Service was good.

The food quality was really great and everything tasted amazing. Be careful as some of the options might be spicier than you expect. The staff were also extraordinary. Very helpful and friendly. However, although the restaurant was not busy, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the food to get ready. Not sure if this type of food in general takes long to prepare or there are staffing issues, but we would have appreciated a heads up.

A family-run Ethiopian restaurant with the typical cuisine. Tasty, well-prepared food, and good prices. The problem is, you need to be extremely patient f yo come to eat here for dinner, as the kitchen is very slooooow to prepare the dishes, which come out at a snail-pace from the kitchen. Not just our table, but all tables were waiting a looooong time for their dishes. The very friendly lady who did the service even went in the kitchen in between, to help speed up the cooking, but it didn't go much faster. So, if you have ample time and don't mind waiting, and you like authentic Ethiopian cuisine, do definitely go there, you'll enjoy the food. But if you have a schedule to keep, visit another day ;-) ...

This small family-run restaurant is not in the centre of Amsterdam (it is close to Westerpark) but is well worth a visit. The Ethiopian food was delicious, eaten with friends with your fingers (bring hand sanitizer!) and vegan and gluten free friendly. Super friendly staff ~ a lovely evening.

If you have never tried Ethiopian food, it really is a must. Sharing a delicious meal, eating with your fingers is great experience. The Queen of Sheeba is a bit out of the trodden path, but it is well worth a visit.

Had dinner with some friends here.Was quite unexpected and spontaniously organized. Friend have recommendation that we followed. And I am soo glad we did.Small cosy family bussiness. Great service , excelent food and a place where you will have whole experience. I have felt so relaxed and welcomed ,like I am in a friends living room at home and not in a restaurant. Out of bussy turistic city centre ,which was even better. Literaly everything about this place is wonderful. Real gem. Can not recommend it enough.
