What a nice surprise! The restaurant is stylish and has a great atmosphere. The Caesar salad was excellent, fresh and full of flavor. The tiramisu was beautifully presented and tasted great as well — and as an Italian, I can be quite critical when it comes to tiramisu! What impressed me the most was the service. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, without ever trying to push additional orders or upsell. A refreshing dining experience from start to finish. I will definitely be back.

Surprisingly great. I had always assumed (due to the location) this would be just another over priced tourist trap, however from the first visit I was thankfully proven wrong. I first went with a “social deal” 3 course set price (didn’t include the entire menu, but with enough options for a great deal). I have returned several times now (with and without a “social deal”) as the service and quality of food for the price is top notch. The staff are very attentive, helpful and friendly. The food is of great quality- I’ve tried several starters and mains by now and been very pleased each time. Lovely heated terrace looking directly onto Rembrandtplein and back far enough from trams etc to still be nice and peaceful with plenty of people watching across the square. Inside the restaurant is modern and spacious, and the restroom facilities downstairs are spacious, modern and spotlessly clean.

The food and service was good. I loved that the soup didn’t cool off quickly. The steak was more like room temperature but taste was awesome. The brownie was a bit to hard for my liking but I ate it with the ice cream which made it went down okay Will definitely come again

Every interaction felt natural and sincere rather than forced, which made the whole dining experience more relaxed and enjoyable. The team was quick to help, happy to answer questions, and made sure everything was running smoothly without being intrusive. Especially the lady serving our table. I was super full after the meal and they were more than happy to offer me the chance to take rest home. Overall, while the food and ambiance certainly play their part, it was the amazing service and genuinely friendly staff that made this visit memorable. I would absolutely recommend Rain Amsterdam to anyone looking for a place where you feel well taken care of from start to finish. Food looked and tasted amazing <3

Delicious food, very friendly and good service for a very good price.

We booked a 3-course menu via Social Deal for €21.50 and came with a group of 14 girls. At first glance, it seemed like a good deal, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We had to wait over an hour for the starter. The taste itself was fine, but after that, things went downhill fast. After the main course, I already got a stomach ache and felt nauseous. The dessert (tiramisu) was really not good; it looked like a wet sponge and was completely soggy and inedible. After the meal, the nausea only got worse, and I eventually had to vomit. What makes it even more worrying is that several girls in our group felt nauseous and had stomach problems after the meal. All in all, a very unpleasant experience and certainly not something we would repeat. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this.

Restaurant with a prime location. I went with a voucher for a dinner with an appetizer, main course, and dessert of my choice, and I wasn't expecting much since it was a promotional offer. I was very surprised by the excellent service from the waitress, but especially by each delicious dish, made with great care. The bread appetizer was very generously served, the main course spectacularly well-presented, incredibly flavorful, and the meat was cooked perfectly to my liking. Plus, there were extra side dishes that weren't even on the menu. The brownie dessert was very generously served, with a presentation that made you want to eat it with your eyes – it was delicious. Excellent experience.

We went out for dinner at Rain on Saturday night. We had made a reservation, but there were still plenty of tables available. The welcome was pleasant, as was the service. We had a delicious meal, and there was plenty of it. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. The only downside was that the drinks were quite expensive.

I had a steak and my friend a chicken fillet They were not very bad but the spices they use are weird. I think it fits more to Arabic culture 🤷‍♀️ But the dessert (brownie with stroffwafel (not sure if I wrote it right) and ice cream) ong it was the best dessert I’ve ever ate I will for sure come to eat it again

10/10 thank you for an amazing birthday meal, food was made to perfection portion size was generous cocktails were divine. My favourite was the tomato soup which was part of my starter but was the most delicious soup I’ve had. Our waitress was fantastic serving a party of six, and made sure we wanted for nothing. Shout out to the chef and the barman who kept the drinks flowing.

Magnificent and cozy surroundings

What incredibly friendly, helpful people and delicious food! It's located on the main square, so it has a cozy atmosphere.

The food was burned, we waited a long time and the auger messed up our order twice. When we asked where our food is they said that they are very busy while most tables were empty. Overall a very bad experience and the food was horrible. The fish was obviously cooked while still frozen as it was extremely watery and the burger was so dry that nobody wanted to eat it. Overall horrible and would never recommend to anyone

Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing. (The staff were friendly, though.) The food was of such poor quality that I had to leave most of it untouched, something I normally never experience. The dish simply wasn't tasty and even made me feel nauseous. Furthermore, the service was unprofessional: my partner's plate was cleared while I was still eating, which seemed unnecessarily rushed and rude. Ultimately, we even decided to skip dessert and leave the restaurant early. Finally, the bill was also a source of frustration, as three drinks had been incorrectly added. Although this was eventually rectified, no appropriate compensation was given, citing the fact that the reservation had been made through Social Deal. We felt this was not very customer-focused. All in all, it was a very poor experience, both in terms of the cuisine and the service, and for us, this was the first and last time we visited this restaurant.

Ate a 3 course meal via social deal. It was very pleasant to eat on the terrace. The waiters were friendly and had taken into account the fact that we had to be somewhere else on time, so a big compliment and many thanks for that. If we lived closer, I would definitely come back here.

Eten was niet echt vers bereid. Beide een burger besteld, oud getoast brood en geen versgemaakt burger die helemaal droog is gebakken. super zonde. ook onproffessioneel personeel. Bei zowel het hoofd- als het nagerecht hadden wij de borden van de vorige gang nog voor ons staan. Er werd ook niet gevraagd of wij waren uitgegeten. Wij zullen hier zeker niet meer naar terug gaan.

Het eten was super lekker. Groep 6 personen. Ook grote porties. Voorgerecht Onion soep en salade, zeer ruime porties en lekker. Kips-sate en zalm. Super lekker. Desert dame-blanche, brownie, tiramisu, alles grote porties en erg lekker. Bier en wijn ook prima. Personeel was onderbezet, maar werkte dubbel hard om alles goed te regelen. En lieten niet meet gasten toe dat ze aankonden, dat is sterk. Rain/hotel Royal, een aanrader om lekker te eten.

Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest score but should’ve been zero!! Bad, rude service…..chipped plates……appalling food - maybe 1 could be forgiven but all 5 of us had an awful meal!! Mouldy burger bun, don’t even know what the steak was?? microwaved rice…….Not even cheap, much nicer places to eat, avoid at all costs!!

We gaan er eigenlijk altijd eten ,omdat het lekker is en een leuke plek om op het terras te zitten na een dagje in Amsterdam , ook het personeel is erg vriendelijk en er is een snelle fijne bediening . Helaas de laatste keer dat wij er waren viel het ons op dat het wel erg aan de prijs was geworden in vergelijking met de laatste keer nog niet heel erg lang geleden. We hadden bv een mixed gril schotel en moesten daar nog apart onze frietjes en sausjes bij bestellen, iets wat er bij de meeste restaurants al gewoon standaard bij zit. Een heel klein schaaltje saus 2x van zo,n hooguit 25 a 50gr kostte ons al 8 euro extra. Daarbij 2x friet per portie 6 euro ,dus totaal 12 euro. Dit terwijl onze vleesschotel alleen ook al flink aan de prijs was. Heel erg jammer, het eten is heel lekker, maar erg prijzig.

Perfect location, cozy atmosphere inside and delicious food. A warm welcome, we were immediately given a table for the four of us. Had nice service. Extensive menu, delicious food. Definitely worth repeating.

I don't know if it's the norm, but there was only one server. After waiting for an hour without any attention, we left the restaurant. Anyone who eats here should have a lot of patience...

We placed our order. After 30 minutes our drinks were still not there, we asked, but they still did not come 15 minutes later. Then we were told that the order was forgotten. This can happen, the appetizer came and was very tasty. However, the fries in the main course were hard and cold. After complaining, we were promised new ones and now we had the choice of waiting until the fries arrived and the rest of our food would be cold, or having our main course without fries and then eating them without the rest. All in all, I have to say that I am very disappointed with food for €90 and would never eat in this place again. We have placed our order. Visitamos aquí el domingo. ¡Le encantan las espinacas cremadas para que estar en el menú nos las vendiera! El servicio que recibimos durante nuestra visita fue amable y profesional. Como alguien más dijo, las alitas de búfalo estaban definitivamente en una salsa de barbacoa, no de búfalo, lo que fue decepcionante. Mi hamburguesa estaba bien, y los aros de cebolla estaban sabrosos. Su filete era bastante graso (estoy seguro de que pidió ron) y la crema de espinacas no era increíble. La elección de vino rosa era bastante limitada y la botella que fuimos por no era genial, dejamos aproximadamente 1 / 3 de la botella. En general bastante caro para una comida un poco decepcionante.

We had a fantastic evening dining at Rain Restaurant. Everything was delicious, friendly service and good atmosphere. It was our second visit and we would love to come back.

De restaurant heeft een goed sfeer, de bediening is erg vriendelijk en het eten was heerlijk en mooi geserveerd. Dat was onze tweede bezoek en wij komen zeker terug.

We had the T-bone steak with rice and spinach. Steak was of good quality and the vegetable and rice was tasty too. Only the service was not that attentive, but fortunately very friendly. Perhaps the staff was still quite new or it was a snapshot of that day. Who knows? In any case, I don't judge them so harshly, hence the 4 stars.

Amsterdam op zijn lelijkst. We kregen niet de tijd om rustig ons voorafje te nuttigen, een mandje brood met bijna bevroren kruidenboter, flauwe tapenade en smakeloze humus. Binnen vijf minuten stond ons eten op tafel: een uitgedroogde hamburger van een lang geleden overleden beest op een minstens twee dagen oud broodje, met een soort boemerang van komkommer en een halve tomaat. Liefdeloos, smakeloos, triest.

Very good food and good cocktails. The Caesar chicken burger was great. The bacon-wrapped chicken with honey mustard jus is a hit. The sweet potato wedges are much too soft for me personally, I know they are crunchy. The Rembrandt's Rum is a great cocktail. Very happy again!

Ordered the buffalo chicken wings that were not buffalo but bbq, when I asked the waiter he told me they were buffalo, my wife had the quesadilla which was microwaved and bland . When we complained he informed me that it’s not he’s fault and could not offer any discount , overpriced and food poor . Never again

Went once several months ago, but waited a long time to have our orders taken. Waited again for our dinner, but before it had even arrived we were asked if we'd like dessert before leaving. To be fair, they were very busy and were obviously under-staffed, but still... we left without so much as a beverage. Decided to give it another try this trip. Mid-afternoon, so it wasn't at all busy. Wait staff was pleasant but a little unorganized. Still took too long to get our meal (but at least we got it), but it was mediocre fare compared to our other dining experiences in Amsterdam.

I had a very disappointing experience here. My party and I were treated rudely and ultimately kicked out of the establishment for asking a question. Manager is super rude. What's even more disheartening is that I am currently pregnant, and the lack of empathy shown by the staff was appalling. I would caution anyone considering dining here to think twice before supporting this nasty business.

This is a nice restaurant right in the middle of Rembrandtplein. They make pretty good food and generally alright service. If you need a nice meal, Rain is a good option.

Bit expensive, tasty ,for one time...

Ich war zwei Mal dort essen. Das erste Mal war super! Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und das Essen war lecker. Das zweite Mal war nicht so toll. Die Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich und wir mussten lange auf unser Essen warten. Die Bedienung wusste selbst nicht mehr, was wir alles bestellt haben und bei welchem Gang wir gerade sind. Da in der Nähe genügend weitere Restaurants sind, würde ich lieber empfehlen ein anderes Restaurant zu suchen.

Unfortunately i must say that burgers here were dissapointing. Each additional ingredient (one slice of old amsterdam, 3 leafs of beacon) cost us 1,5 euro. Meat was ok but do not expect fireworks. I need also to add that bun was cold. Ribs were really good, same goes with steaks. Fries were really fine! But beer, in comparison with other spots, was overpriced. If you are looking for good foor, think twice, but if you are hungry, this will be a good spot, because portions were huge

Slow service, good food quality

Nach ca. 15 Minuten haben wir nachgefragt, ob unsere Getränke noch kommen. Darauf reagierte der Kellner recht frech. Die zweite Runde Getränke kam vor der ersten. Der Spinat war angebrannt, genauso wie die Rippchen. Die Süßkartoffeln waren sehr ungewöhnlich. Aber das Rindfleisch war in Ordnung. Zusammenfassend war das Restaurant eine Enttäuschung.

A bistro in a convenient location with extensive menu, large portions, fair prices and friendly staff. I definitely recommend it.
