I like the food but the prices are criminal. I know it's the markthal but come on, over €7 for 4 precies of takoyaki? On the plus side when you come after 18:00 it's really quiet and it's a cozy place to dine in. I like that you have full view of the kitchen to!

I RECOMMEND. 10/10 TASTE. For those who say too expensive: go to McDonald's, there you pay have same price and be hungry after 15 minutes :^). Never been to this ramen bar, but I saw it was busy (on a Monday btw) so decided to check it out. Many different dishes based on ramen can be found here, like karaage fried chicken, naruto fish cake, vegetarian version, squid, you name it. Went for take-away but they have a traditional ramen seat area which looked comfy. Average price of ramen dish was €10 and this is worth every penny..was literally too much for me to finish by myself but what I could eat I found delicious. Karaage chicken: Vegetables tasted fresh and udon thick, broth very rich in taste and plenty, and chicken was ridiculously good. I am talking KFC-level for taste, very good skin on the chicken and the inside exploded with flavor. 15 minute walk home and the ramen was still very hot, I advice against spicy (30 cent extra, trust me they are not cheap with the spice) if you are not experienced with Asian food. If you like a bit of pain with your ramen the spice level is almost too perfect. I am debating myself to come back later today and try some more food there. As for speed; the chef works visibly hard, therefore waiting time is not long. And the woman helping was very nice also. I will give 5 stars but I feel for the money the portion may be less, taste is so good but it's just a waste if you have to leave some ramen. Imagine your only complaint is serving too much food! 2024 edit: Portions seem smaller. If you ask me it is now the perfect size! Of course inflation has hit the owners too so prices understandably have been raised (~€2), still the quality-price balance is spot on. Best regards.

Ramen Bar Sensei in the Markthal in Rotterdam. For a quick ramen this is a good restaurant. It is small, few seats, but a nice atmosphere. The ramen itself was quite spicy. Asked for extra pepper. All in all, a pass for a ramen bowl!

Very Dutchified (probably Chinese-owned) and confused ramen. For example, karaage in ramen is something you wouldn’t find in Japan. It’s popular only because ramen has been a social media trend for a while now and locals/ younger people don’t know any better or care about quality/ authenticity. If you care about these things, or lived in Japan, don’t bother coming here- waste of money.

Not that good go to the other ramen place. Food: I had the Chicken Teriyaki Ramen they were gods but just not Amazing. Time: I got my food relatively fast, but that probably varies on how many customers are there. Ambiance: A lot of work to do the place looked a bit sad a lot of decor but just not very pretty. My conclusion is that you should rather go to the other ramen place in the Market Hall.

My son's go to place when ever we are in Rotterdam. Super friendly service. Freshly cooked. Amazing food. And huge portions. A fun variety of drinks also. And a nice little seating area so you can enjoy watching the markethal pass by. Really would recommend stopping here for some food.

An extremely cute place and very worth it for the decoration and the place it is located, the market as a whole is very beautiful, but very expensive, the visit is very worth it

the food was super tasty! i had the ebi miso ramen and the gyoza 4 pcs for about €18. the bowl was huge! the location is very cozy and ideal for introverted people like me since you have different seats such as seats facing the public, the wall and the kitchen area. the waitress was super nice and the food got served after 15 minutes. would definitely recommend this place :)

I ordered the mala beef ramen, and let me tell you, this is some of the best ramen I’ve had, and I recently travelled to Japan. Both times I went the customer service was exceptional, and I waited max 5 minutes for my meal. The serving size is more than generous, and although on the pricier side, it’s well worth it. If you find yourself in Rotterdam, this is a must visit!

這整個集市裡的店都是坑外國遊客的。我並不是説這間拉麵店不好，而是整個集市當中的店都是坑外國人的。當我走進這間集市，許多店麵竟然有中文菜單，顯然不是鹿特丹當地人會來吃飯的地方。這家拉麵店的價格不便宜，然而麵條是從超市買來的，湯底也是料理包做的，沒有一個是店家自己現做的。我並不認爲這是個例，相反，我認爲整個集市內所有的拉麵店都是這樣。而且夏天到了，這個拱頂集市就像一個暖棚，下午非常悶熱，不適合吃飯。大家的錢都不是大風刮來的，我建議大家來參觀一下就可以，去別的地方吃飯。

Esperienza sublime, Il locale all interno del markthal si presenta accogliente richiamando il Giappone; Ho avuto modo di provare il ramen Naruto, squisito ed impreziosito da un piatto decorato con le pietanze stesse. Servizio veloce nonostante l'afflusso di persone. Possibilità di mangiare all interno o prendere da asporto Voto massimo!

Das beste Ramen was ich je gegessen habe . Es ist im Vergleich zu den anderen ständen sehr klein mit wenigen Sitzplätzen aber das warten lohnt sich wirklich. Es gibt sehr viele Menü optionen, einige auch vegetarisch. Ein Cozy Erlebnis in einer so großen und lauten Umgebung

Excellent restaurant japonais ! Nous avons dégusté des ramens de très bonnes qualités et nous avons eu un coup de coeur sur des boulettes au boeuf "... Beef Mai". Les prix sont raisonnables et la qualité excellente ! Parmi tous les restaurants de ramens où j'ai mangé, c'est le meilleur ! Je recommande.

The soup of char-siu miso ramen is too salty.

Zojuist een kom pittige ramen besteld en ik heb genoten. Erg smeuïg, vol van smaak en qua prijs kwaliteit/kwantiteit is uitmuntend! Als ik weer naar Rotterdam ga, zal ik zeker weer terug komen.

I have visited for the second time now. If you like spicy Ramen try the Mala Beef. Owners are super friendly, portions are big and price is reasonable for R'Dam. Super duper delicious. Literally could eat it everyday.

I had the ebi shoyu ramen and it was the best ramen I had in a while. For context I eat ramen around three times a month and have had ramen in Japan before.

Mala beef miso ramen. Hot, full of flavor and super addictive!

Average in taste. Ramen are instant noodles. Would not really recommend this place.

As a fan of ramen, it was an ok bowl, considering the cold weather. Always good to have a hot pipping bowl of noodles. In terms of authenticity, maybe not there yet. Soup was too salty. It’s not like the usual tonkutsu broth type of soup. The soup is not as thick and not as tasty as well. If you have tried Ichiran and Ippudo, you probably know this is not even close. Also saw that the Gyoza wasn’t made fresh. It was from a packet that you can get from the supermarket, and they just fry it for you. Hence, I find the authenticity is not there. Not sure about other ramen bars here in Netherlands, but definitely far from the standard in Japan or even Singapore.
