Takumi Tonkotsu Ramen Rotterdam Markthal in Rotterdam Centrum

The food was great. Our group ordered ramen and were very satisfied. There's something for everyone. The service is very friendly and answers all questions. However, it's unfortunately not possible to split the bill; it has to be paid in one go.

Fresh food, large portions, adequate price. We were lucky to get a table immediately, but making a reservation in advance is a good idea, as it can get super busy very quickly. The service was very quick and the staff were very friendly - definitely coming back when I visit Rotterdam the next time!

There were four of us and we ordered two ramen bowls and one rice bowl—everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and not too salty. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures, but it all looked really good. Another great thing was that the staff was helpful and spontaneously brought us an extra bowl and cutlery, so we could easily share. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Definitely recommended!

One of the best Ramen 🍜 Many choices Tasty

Unfortunately, they lack respect for their customers. We were a family of 4, 3 of us sat down and ordered 3 ramens and 3 drinks. The order was in front of us when my sister arrived as well, with a piece of bread she had from the market. Their server came to tell her to leave the restaurant while she eats that bread. You may have a decent kitchen staff, but when you lack class your business should be avoided. There are better ramen places around, one at a stall in the market and one a couple of blocks outside to the west.

Please work on your service. Too slow! No excuse for being slow I see your servers are walking around but not coming to take my orders, please be more attentive. I had to walk out because your service is slow like a turtle. No thanks!

It's always busy here! We've been here two days this week, but the two of us were able to get a seat quickly without having to wait. The staff was super attentive and friendly, and the ramen was delicious! They also have vegan ramen!

We ate here yesterday afternoon and it was delicious, highly recommended. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will eat here again next time.

Nice atmospheric restaurant with delicious ramen dishes.

My go to lunch place for me and my mother! We always get the Butatama Tonkotsu Ramen and the Spicy Teriyaki Miso Ramen with a side of chicken Gyoza and Ginger/Mint tea as drinks. The menu is just as delicious as it looks! If you ever come across the Markthal definitely try it out! The staff are super sweet and they know both English and Dutch. They also have a Points/Reward system for the ones that didn't know this yet 🍜📲🫶

We were taken to this fantastic restaurant. The ramen was a real explosion of flavor, absolutely outstanding!

Usually have a good experience at other Takumi’s with my partner’s allergies, but it seemed like they didn’t want to try to accommodate and only offered two vegan options of the entire menu. Which is weird considering my partner had much bigger options at the Takumi locations, which seems like they didn’t want to try. Disappointing!

Attracted by the crowd when walk pass and decided to give it a try. The foods were overall fine and the portion was consider generous. Not a bad option if you are nearby during meals time.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Takumi, and I can only say it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is inviting and tastefully designed, immediately creating a pleasant ambiance. The menu offers a wonderful selection of traditional and modern Japanese dishes, and the presentation of the food is simply outstanding. The service was also attentive and friendly, which made the overall experience even better. One minor criticism would be that the prices are a bit high, but given the quality of the food and service, it's absolutely justified. I highly recommend Takumi to anyone seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience. I'm already looking forward to returning soon!

For a Ramen spot inside a food hall. They capture the very well I felt like I was stepping into another culture. Ramen 5/5- it has the Naruto fish cake inside with a really fluffy and heavy miso base. It tasted hearty and lots of veggies. The meat was also very tender.

Was visiting the Markhal with a friend and we decided to have lunch here. Fortunately we got a nice table and didn't have to wait even though it was lunch hour and quite full. Service was friendly and the food came quickly. The ramen was great - I had the spicy Kara Ebi Miso ramen. Will definitely be back when we are here next.

This place provides Japanese Ramen in “Chinese style”. I’m pretty sure the cook is Chinese. Some waitresses spoke Chinese. Among our group of three we ordered a teriyaki chicken ramen, a spicy shrimp miso ramen and a spicy chicken ramen. Mind the photo, there are Chinese cabbage, bok choi, rather than the dark green seaweed; big rings of Chinese spring onions whereas it’s supposed to be tiny bits of Japanese spring onions; most importantly the spicy miso soup base tastes exactly like Sichuan Dan Dan noodles. Japanese cooks will never put cilantro on Ramen but Chinese cooks love doing so. There is not even a slight hint of miso in the soup to my taste, which I eat miso every day when I’m not travelling. The soup base is just so wrong, it’s not like any traditional Japanese ramen soup base at all. Another disappointment is the misleading poster where I was expecting to be served a glass bottle just like the printing on the card. I think this is deceiving because bottled drinks are different than mixed drinks, especially freshness wise. Lychee soda tasted okay, not salty as claimed though; Yuzu soda tasted somewhat like dish soap to me though. My kid liked the yuzu soda so that was fine. The food themselves are acceptable, except for my shrimp comes with a hint of lye flavour, which cooks submerge cheap frozen shrimp in such diluted lye solution to get rid of the smell of a freezer and to improve the texture so that they are crispy, then the shrimp would be put in a pot of running water for hours to get rid of that lye taste. That is a popular secret among Chinese cooks. Taste wise food is alright, but these are Chinese noodles, and do ask about allergens if you are allergic to peanuts, because I think I tasted peanuts in my spicy miso soup.

These are honestly the most delicious ramen noodles ever. The food here is so good!! The gyoza and the homemade iced tea are also fantastic. Great atmosphere, fast service, and friendly staff. Really inexpensive for what you get!

As someone who had tried to authentic ramen in japan, I can say that their ramen is missing the umami flavor. The sapporo ramen, tho looks good, but i can only taste the saltiness and not the flavor. So i was not that happy. Other else is good i think but normal.

The flavors may have been modified to cater to foreigners; the broth is a bit salty, and the meat is a bit tough and thick. However, it's quite good to be able to eat here in Europe. There's a restroom inside.

Definitely one of the better places to get ramen in Rotterdam. The dish was so nice it felt like a warm hug:) Even though it is located in the Markthal, where food spots may seem overpriced, but the prices were quite similar to other ramen restaurants in Rotterdam.

Nice restaurant with Japanese ramen. After a short wait, you're assigned a seat. The staff were very thoughtful. Our children were supposed to eat the dishes we ordered (vegan miso ramen, vegan tofu ramen) with us, and the waitress immediately offered to bring the children two extra bowls and cutlery. The chopsticks we brought for the children were secured with rubber bands and pieces of paper for easier handling. Unfortunately, the restrooms were a bit cramped and dirty. The price was reasonable for the portion size. Plus, the food tasted very authentically Japanese. Overall, it was good.

We had a very unpleasant experience in this restaurant. Both of our orders came wrong, and they refused to change them for us. Instead, they asked us to order again. The portion and quality of the food are worse than other ramen places. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all.

Takumi Tonkotsu Ramen Rotterdam Markthal We saw a long queue outside and thought it must be a good place for lunch. After walking around, we noticed the line was shorter, so we quickly joined. The wait was about 10 minutes before we got a table. The restaurant was full of customers. The staff who took our order was friendly. Food was served quickly and came one by one to our table. It was delicious. They also have their own toilet, which is convenient. Overall, it’s a busy restaurant with a welcoming vibe, friendly staff, and tasty food. Just take note that the queue can get long.

We have been to a few Takumi restaurants in NL and unfortunately our experience today was not the norm. We informed the server 3x about a peanut allergy and confirmed with the allergen list that what we ordered would not contain peanuts. In the end, they brought a different product from what was ordered- and this item contained peanuts- a dangerous situation considering a peanut allergy in our group. This should never happen. The server said they wouldn’t charge for the ramen- in fact none of the meal (it was dumplings and iced team + 1 ramen) should have been charged. This situation should never take place - ever!

I tried this ramen place recently, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. It’s clearly not an authentic Japanese ramen shop—the flavor of the broth was far from what you’d find in Japan. It lacked depth and richness, and felt more like a diluted version trying to imitate Japanese style. The toppings, like the butter and corn, were there, but the overall balance was off. I also noticed that the staff didn’t speak any Japanese, which further suggests that it might be run by Chinese owners rather than Japanese. If you’re looking for a truly authentic Japanese ramen experience, this probably isn’t the right place.

Thank you for amazing time at your place, I had a spicy veggie ramen, was super tasty and big enough to fill but not overfill. The edamame were perfectly salty - exactly as I like it. The service can smile more, the food will be even tastier!

Buta Tama Miso Ramen had a perfectly balanced flavor.

The best ramen I have ever eaten. Quite few vegetarian options to get from. Quick service and big portions. Prices reasonable. A bit of a waiting time to get a table but served quickly once at order is placed. Loved it and would Definitely recommend it. Might goo again next time in Rotterdam.

No matter what time of day, what day of the week you good, this place is always lively with patrons. The ramen tates like authentic Japanese ramen, the broth is very hearty, and the owner and workers are all very nice. Every time I have guests, this is the place I take them to.

Nice ramen restaurant. Prices are inflated and not commensurate with the quality. The chicken had a lot of fat all around. Pak choi was simply thrown into the ramen uncut. Overall, the ramen wasn't anything special, just standard. We paid 45 euros for two dishes and two drinks. The staff were nice, but they constantly walked past the table to check if the plate was empty, so they could quickly clear the space for new guests. The restaurant is located in the Markthal. The ambiance is quite nice.

Worst ever experience: we've been waiting to be seated inside the food market for 10+min. Then, a waitress came out and told us to go to the other side of the restaurant and wait there. I wonder why not to tell this in advance without making people wait just like that.

First ramen experience. Being French-speaking, we first had to decipher the menu and understand the subtleties. We observed our neighbors' dishes and then dived in. And a pleasant surprise: our two radically different dishes were both delicious. Then we had to master chopstick technique... but we were saved, a small ladle was included. So we started with chopsticks and finished with a ladle :-). As for drinks, we weren't really in the mood for Japanese or Heineken. So we'd have white and red wine. Served in unbreakable mini bottles, like on an airplane, the Chardonnay wasn't bad and the Merlot was passable. A good evening

We had a delicious meal in a lovely setting. We entered through the market hall (there's also a street entrance), and you immediately sense the Japanese atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. The menu is clear and extensive. We ordered some appetizers beforehand and then, of course, the delicious ramen in various variations. The accompanying Japanese beer was also quite good. The setting is a bit crowded, but it has a nice, colorful atmosphere. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. Definitely recommended. There's sometimes a bit of a wait to get in.

Food is okay and the waitresses were really nice, however the head waiter is incredibly rude. As soon as me and my friend finished our meal and the head waiter figured we weren’t ordering more food, he proceeded to tell us he’s bringing the bill and that there’a a long line of people waiting for a table, implying we should leave asap. Needless to say I’m never coming back to eat there.

My all time fav ramen in Rotterdam Do try

This is not an authentic Japanese restaurant. This is Chinese owned serving Japanese food. I ordered a ramen meal that I had to search for ramen in. At first I thought I ordered without ramen. I called the staff over and we went on to search for ramen noodles. They then reply with "that is standard portion of noodles". This is not acceptable for a ramen meal. I left.

I went there for lunch yesterday. The place is very cool. The waiters were very friendly and quick. We ordered some gyosas to share and a ramen soup each. Everything was delicious, and the service was very fast. I highly recommend it.

The restaurant embodies everything that I love about Japanese cuisine: warmth, taste and soul. The Black garlic ramen had a unique meaty, smokey flavour that went flawlessly with the garlic and pickled egg. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, blending all the ingredients into a bowl of happiness. The staff was friendly and when needed, helpful with recommendations. Overall one of the best places I have visited in Europe.
