We had a great night with good food. The next night we came back and it was terrible service from a restaurant manager who was unable to cope with a busy night and was rude when we tried to order more drinks. Avoid.

Worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food was tasteless, the steaks were overcooked and tough. They forgot our drinks, didn’t even bring us cutlery, and we had to take it from other tables ourselves. Instead of serving tables, the waiters were busy kissing each other in the bathroom. Prices are outrageously high for such poor quality and service. Absolutely not recommended.

We visited Rancho in February of this year during our stay in Amsterdam. The food was generally good – the meat was well-prepared and tasted fine. However, the overall experience didn't completely win us over. It lacked that certain something to make it truly memorable. The service was friendly, though somewhat inattentive, and the ambiance was pleasant, but nothing special. All in all, a solid restaurant where you can eat well, but not a standout. Good, but with room for improvement.

Clearly a factory-like restaurant, the quality is very average, bordering on mediocre. The self-proclaimed head waiter creates unnecessary tension; we weren't really comfortable, and our taste buds weren't exactly delighted. They have cocktails on the menu, but they don't seem to know how to make them; the Irish coffee was quite unpleasant to drink. But at least the waiters were responsive... I wouldn't really recommend this place.

The steakhouse is nice. The ribeye is great. The Wagyu fillet is also excellent. They're a bit slow.

We went to this restaurant with high hopes given its Google rating. However, it seems that their staff cannot accommodate with the crowd at all. We ordered their ribeye and it wasn’t cooked evenly, it was RAW! Not to mention the long waiting time… One of the waiters did offer us another smaller portion of steak but at that point we just don’t want to eat anymore. Very disappointed with this last dinner we had in Amsterdam… guess that makes this trip memorable too… Please improve. And for others, take this review into consideration.

On a busy Saturday evening, we popped in on a whim to see if there was room for three people, as we love a good piece of meat. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by (we assume) the owner, who immediately went to see if there was a table available. A little later, he returned with the good news that there was still room. We received excellent service (even in Dutch) and had a delicious meal. My wife's steak was even shaped like the United States—not an added bonus, but a nice touch worth mentioning. We will definitely be back. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, and comfortable seating. Highly recommended!

Fraudulent: Our family went there for a light lunch the kids ordered burgers and my wife and I ordered the €12.5 Nachos with pulled chicken from the specials board outside. The burger patties were raw despite ordering medium. When the bill arrived my wife paid it and was asked to provide a tip for the service. I looked at the bill after payment and saw we were charged €21 for the nachos plus additional €4 for the chicken each. €50 for Nachos??? In what world is this acceptable especially when we showed her a picture of the special board when ordering as to rule out any confusion. Upon questioning the waiter on the charges we were told that’s not what we ordered and we must have been confused. €100 ripoff for 2 burgers and 2 nachos. They are scam artists I have read other reviews on them where they lead you in with the specials and then just up charge you. I really don’t mind paying €30 for something to eat as long as it’s a decent meal and something I actually ordered. Thieves Stay away!

If you're Argentinian and want to come and eat a good piece of meat, chat with the owner (a true Argentinian), and have a good laugh, this is the place for you. It's a place to forget for a while that you're a tourist in a country where you don't understand a word. Outside, you can smell marijuana, but inside, you breathe Argentinian spirit. It's the only 100% Argentinian grill, with good food, reasonable prices, and excellent service. I was just passing through, so I didn't splurge, but ordering a good set menu is an excellent choice. And if you're not Argentinian, you're welcome too.

A fairly large restaurant with plenty of tables, excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere… the meat was delicious, a juicy rib eye cooked to perfection, and all the side dishes were delicious.

This is our favorite place in Amsterdam.

A lovely Argentinian restaurant with the tastiest steak in Amsterdam. If two people order a sharing platter for two, they get a nice selection. Make sure it's pork-free.

Fajita without guacamole souce and dry waited greens is not a nice thing to serve. Service is not satisfactory this time. Wines are regular.

Empty hall and we were told for 4 people that we can't just drink coffee. I don't recommend the place!

The food is excellent, the wine is great. Damaris is excellent at her job. She is the reason we sat down.... when before 2 of her colleagues did everything to tell us that there was availability at a small table for 2 people. Obviously because we are Greeks... we eat like Greeks.... that is, we do not share a plate....... so we ordered accordingly...... in the end everything fit well on a table for four.... and all the choices were excellent.

We ordered a burger for our child. It came with a raw patty. When the waiter pointed out that the patty was raw, he took the dish away. Instead of bringing a new burger, they served us ours with a half-eaten piece of meat, but with burnt cheese! BUT the patty was still undercooked!!!!!!! Not to mention my steak, which was ordered medium rare, but was overcooked, not to the point of well-done, but to the consistency of boiled meat.

Good food to be honest. It's been years since I've been here and it has not dropped in quality. Loved it! Definitely a good visit once you are in the center and looking for a better burger or a stake. Enjoy !!

Not sure why the good reviews, for a place that advertises as a steakhouse, the steaks are low quality, and quite expensive for that they offer.

The comfort was very tasty, the best empanadas in the city, and also the service is very friendly!

Did not like there food.. it was not a wow thing as compared to other places around the place. Service was bad they were not busy but still food was delayed.. starters came with the mains.. that was the biggest setback.. food quality was a 3.7 they were lost and didn’t knew what was going around… Staff was a bit loud.. may be new dont know about hospitality! 👎🏻

What a great experience at Rancho, we were served by Augustine and had the most impeccable service. Fast, friendly and fabulous. We had the grand parrallida platter, all meat was cooked to our liking full of flavour and more than enough for two for 75 Euro. We needed to take some home it was so much. Great value for money. And to top it off, the BEST Margarita I’ve had in years, I would comeback just for that. Thanks Rancho.

Found this steak house when looking for a meal with my family. Very easy to book a table and we were seated very quickly. It was a busy Sunday evening but the staff were very nice and the food was lovely! We had steak, fajitas, chicken salad and burgers - all of which were 5/5. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended. We went there two days in a row because the steak was simply divine. We had the steak of the day both days for €14.50, along with a small salad and fries.

Just happened to walk by today and decided to give it a try. I am on a simple diet now. I ordered the strip steak 300g. Medium rare temperature. It came out perfect. I would recommend this place if you want steak!

I always go to Rancho Spui when I'm in Amsterdam. The food is delicious. The sangria is delicious, and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended.

Very good meal, slightly expensive (€20 per person/dish or more), but it's excellent. The waitresses and waiters are very friendly. From the men's restroom upstairs, there's a great view of the street because some genius removed the opaque film (thanks to him). Don't hesitate to try it and show your "argument" to passersby on the street... (After exchanging glances with people downstairs, I think they appreciated the scene.)

Steak of the day was perfect, also nice people working here. I will come back again.

The food at El Rancho was just okay — nothing special but edible. The real disappointment was the service. When I went to pay by card, the waitress (a woman) asked me for a tip twice. In Amsterdam, tipping is not mandatory, and I usually leave one if the service is good or if it’s required. The service here was poor, so I intended to pay only my bill. Instead, she made the situation so uncomfortable that I ended up leaving a €10 tip just to get out of there. It was awkward, embarrassing, and completely unnecessary. I won’t be returning, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

I truly felt like I was in Argentina. The bread basket with two dips and the grilled meats were spectacular. The service was excellent, as was the owner and his great staff.

i picked this restaurant for my dad’s birthday and it was amazing. the food was very good and had SUPERB customer service. everyone was very friendly and would always check up on us throughout dinner. they also gave us a very nice surprise which we really appreciated. i will definitely recommend this place to everyone. thank you for making our night. ❤️

We went to this restaurant hoping to enjoy a good steak and have a pleasant, relaxed time. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. I ordered an entrecôte cooked medium rare, along with a large Coke Zero and fries with mayo. The steak turned out to be more like a rump steak and was rare instead of medium rare. The fries were undercooked, unsalted, and for such a small portion, the price was quite outrageous. The “large” Coke Zero was actually more of a medium size. I can’t say much about the interior atmosphere as we were sitting outside, but it looked fairly standard. My friends ordered a menu that, according to the description, included rump steak, ribs, fries, and coleslaw. The ribs were dry and not tender, and their steaks were supposed to be medium rare but came out well done. The fries were just as disappointing as mine. When it came time to pay, we wanted to split the bill and pay by card, but the server seemed clearly overwhelmed by that request. All in all, considering the prices, this restaurant is simply not worth a visit.

Pretty quiet when we first entered but picked up. Seating inside or outside. Food was exceptional. Service was excellent. Worth a visit if you ever go to amasterdam. We had the sharing grill. Amazing meat. Brilliant is all I can say.

Entrecote was really delicious tender. Sauces with the bread also tasty, only too little bread for the sauces. Only the fries were less. Recommended if you want to eat quickly when you are in the city.

We are Argentines, we wanted meat and we found this place. From the beginning a lady attended us with very little enthusiasm, the place was not very full and they sat us at an uncomfortable table. We asked to change to a larger table but she did not let us because there were tables for 4 but then she sat couples at those tables, we noticed a very big difference in the treatment compared to people from other places, the food was very delicious but we did not feel welcome with those attitudes and much less with their ironic comments. A young girl did serve us very well for dessert, because the lady never served us again. ----- We are an Argentinian couple and found this place we thought we would feel like home. From the beginning we didn't feel welcomed. The lady who served our table refused to move us from an uncomfortable table because the others were 4 person tables then she assigned those tables to couples... we noticed discrimination in comparison with other people also in the distribution of people on the tables. The food was great but those attitudes and ironic comments ruined our dinner. There was only a very nice young girl who served our dessert because the lady never came back to attend our table.

Die Nachos waren super lecker. Danach hatten wir Spareribs mit Pommes und Salat. Den Salat und die Pommes waren zu viel aber auch sehr gut.

Food was okay, although the staff was the issue. The moment we received the bill, the staff did not put the total amount we needed to pay on the paying machine. Instead, he pointed to the bill and was expecting that we would give him some tips. If the service was good then some tips would be deserved for him. But, the staff was seemingly not in the mood for working and we were one of the two tables filled, thus it was not busy at all.

Ribeye medium becomes well-done to table. Hard to chew and swallow only. Tips is requested at checkout. I don’t think it worth 5% at all

We took advantage of their entrecote menu with delicious meat, side dishes and a bottle of wine. The service was 11am and the staff were super helpful. I highly recommend it.

Spare ribs are highly recommended! Atmospheric. The toilet is upstairs so you must be able-bodied. The only downside is the wooden benches with straight backs, which are less comfortable.

Burgers were great. Coffee and espresso vlspot on. Quaint place for drinks and food. Highly recommend. Service is on par with European standards.

The ribeye had nice marbling and a good amount of fat, but most importantly, it was cooked exceptionally well—medium-rare, as requested. However, the flavor wasn’t very intense. They could use a higher-quality beef or simply season it more and add a good sauce to enhance the final result. Overall, a good steak, better than average.

Sorry, but that’s not what I call a nice restaurant. It was a little bit cold inside for sitting but we were hungry so it was okay. We choosed the Ectrecôte and the Chicken Salad. The price of the Salad was 18,90€. It was just a little bit salad with some dressing, 1 tomato and grilled chicken. I think the dressing wasn‘t selfmade and the chicken wasn‘t a good one. The Entrecôte was ok but not good in taste. After my friend asked for some sauce, he got a ready-made sauce. On the baked potato that was served with the entrecote there was an unidentifiable fatty cream. Next time, I would prefer going through the streets hungry and make myself some food at home. Sorry, but the kitchen was not good to me.

Vine aquí para una cena temprano, el menú es extenso con varios cortes junto con opciones sin bistec. Tenía el solomillo surf & turf. El filete era muy jugoso y nada graso aunque se cocinaba raro en lugar de medio raro como se había pedido. Las gambas vinieron de frente y estaban bien, pero un poco insípido. La salsa de setas era fantástica, así como el arroz. Desafortunadamente nos sentamos justo al lado de la puerta en una mesa extremadamente estrecha que era bastante incómodo (y frío).

Day in Amsterdam, We were still cold and upon arrival we were immediately served two large glasses of coke without having ordered it. Couldn't hear exactly what it was for, but I could assume we got it as a welcome gift. We also had a delicious meal. Ordered another beer and coffee. I knew roughly in my head what the final amount would be and what I would pay with the tip added. When I asked for the receipt I saw that the two colas I received were also marked with €12. We paid the receipt and this time no tip. Furthermore, the food was very good but left with a blemish. To be honest, I think it's sad how it turned out.

Esperienza tremenda. Tavoli sudici, personale scortese e cibo che definire di pessima qualità è un eufemismo. La carne, che dovrebbe essere il loro punto forte, era dura, stoppacciosa ed annegata in una brodaglia di cui è meglio non chiedere le origini. Un tris di salsine per accompagnarla? 6€!! il conto finale ci ha lasciato senza parole:110€ per due bistecche, un’acqua e le famose salsine. Se non volete star male nello stomaco e nel portafoglio, evitatelo come la peste!

I experienced a homophobic incident in this restaurant with one of the waitstaff. Yesterday, I went there with my partner and we were scolded because we shared a kiss. We chose to void the order and depart the restaurant. The manager of the restaurant expressed his regret by apologizing to us multiple times. However, this conduct from the waiter is unacceptable and deserves to be addressed in order to combat homophobia. I have never encountered a situation like this in Amsterdam, and I have lived here for 20 years.

A very atmospheric place. Excellent rack with proper check and excellent sauce. The service is excellent. The music is conducive. The prices are affordable. I recommend it.

Warm and frozen dishes, we had to pay for sauces that we didn't even order (2.5€ for a small vinaigrette and 0.7€ for a very small ketchup), the waitress was unpleasant and bitter, it was impossible to split the bill , I never leave reviews but I had to. I don't recommend.

Had a delicious sirloin steak with baked potato and butter. Choice is 200, 300 or 400 grams. Opted for rare/rosé and it was very enjoyable. Just good meat and no seasonings or sauces are necessary. Chose the cheapest white wine as a drink and it is absolutely fine. At €27.50 per bottle, things aren't going to get better anytime soon
