The Bull Amsterdam in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

They were out of ALL draft beers (yes, this is Amsterdam). And get this "we don't have tap water" they said. Do you really want to give your hard earned money to this kind of a place ? The decision is yours.

I tried their "Bull Burger," and it was very good. The burger was generously topped and served with fries and mayonnaise and ketchup. The service was very quick, efficient, and friendly. There wasn't a particular atmosphere (at least not on the day I went). It wasn't especially noisy; in fact, it was quite quiet. I recommend it. If you get a table outside, there's a lovely view of the water, the flowers, and a few cute little boats going by.

During our stay in Amsterdam, we had lunch at The Bull and had a truly positive experience. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a club sandwich: both were generous, beautifully presented, and incredibly tasty. The burger had juicy meat, melted cheese, and fresh ingredients, while the club sandwich was rich and flavorful, accompanied by a small salad. The service was prompt, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and conveniently located, perfect for a break after exploring the city center or before visiting the Nemo Museum. Excellent value for Amsterdam. If you're looking for a good place to eat, with generous portions and a relaxed atmosphere, this place is definitely a recommended choice.

Love the atmosphere great music wonderful fries and great service from the people, they even let me charge my phone! They also show sports to entertain people sitting alone or with a group of friends really recommend coming here.

Great burgers all round. Nice service decent beer although limited larger selection. Great service from the staff. Very friendly and helpful. Only left down was seemed a little for expensive but likely location and a very limited kids menu. Needs a burger option at least on there.

We had made a reservation for a group of 15 people. However, upon arrival, the reserved table turned out to be too small, even though we were three fewer people than originally planned. This immediately created a less than ideal first impression. The spareribs were on the pricey side and some pieces appeared burnt, which did not benefit the quality. On the positive side, the service was reasonably fast and the restaurant's interior is atmospheric and well-maintained. What was less pleasant was that plates were already being cleared away before everyone at the table had finished eating. This gave the impression that we had to rush. Finally, when settling the bill, it turned out that it was not possible to pay separately, which is very inconvenient for a large group. All in all, a mixed experience: a nice restaurant with fast service, but there is certainly room for improvement regarding hospitality, organization, and the quality of the food.

Had a drink outside here before and after visiting the Entr museum. There is nothing to report about the food and drinks, but there is something to say about the service, because that lady was really top-notch! What a sweetheart and so good at her job! What a star!!

We walked in without a reservation and were immediately warmly welcomed. The food was delicious and we had a comfortable seat. Special compliments to the waitress, who also just came over for a nice chat.

I had lunch here before visiting the NEMO Museum. The club sandwich I had was very good, and the sweet potatoes were delicious!

A very nice restaurant, close to the central train station. We were hesitating between having a drink and a meal, and this place does both perfectly, all in a pleasant atmosphere and setting! I recommend it; the prices are reasonable.

Very close to NEMO. Aesthetically inspired by New York, very cute and well-maintained! A very pleasant meat-based dinner with the family, with truly delicious food (loved by everyone) and meticulously prepared (cheese burgers/nuggets/schnitzels). The waiter was very kind, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommended!

A standard bar at first sight, but hot damn the food is good. The Burger was what the standard should be for every burger chain, restaurant or bar. I'm unsure if the beef was a bit low quality or if it's just not to my taste, but they did a PHENOMENAL job with what they got. I recon from anywhere else I wouldn't dig in nearly as fast into a burger as I did here. Also as a rare sweet potato enjoyer, the sweet potato fries were the best I've ever eaten hands down. The atmosphere was also very lovely, and it's great to sit outside when the sun is shining. Would come back, and eat on a weekly basis if I lived here. Highly recommend

Excellent service and very kid friendly with lots of menu options that will help with any picky eaters. Probably the best service we had in Amsterdam (and the service was good everywhere). One drawback unfortunately - I've had much better burgers! If that wasn't an issue it would be 5 stars for me for a great casual dining spot.

Called into The Bull after seeing their advert on IG - what a great place with friendly team and fab menu - we had the chicken club sarnie and the Philly Cheese Steak - DELISH - well worth a visit - will def go back! 👏🏼👍

Excellent restaurant with a very warm welcome and delicious burgers, all at a reasonable price.

We went there two weeks in a row on Monday nights. The first time, they had the most delicious pea soup ever! And the second Monday night, they had delicious tom kha kai soup. Compliments to the chef! My husband and son's burgers were also delicious.

The worst burger I’ve ever had. The patty was rubbery and completely tasteless. It’s unbelievable that a place with such a great location serves food this bad. On top of that, you’re paying above-average prices.

Unexpectedly, yesterday evening me and my friends had diner at the Bull. The food was great, the staff very welcoming and charming. Thanks for being so flexible by giving us a table without reservation! We've had a very pleasant stay.

I have come to this place several times and the service has always been exceptional. In a country were customer service is usually non-existent, this place is the exception. The waitress have always been so helpfull and professional! The food is also great, american style, but you should just come to this place because of the great employees.

A great place to eat. Friendly staff who are also willing to help. You get your money's worth here. Despite the crowds, you don't feel rushed to leave. A relaxed atmosphere with great music in the background. We love coming here!!

Wife and I had "the bull burger " and a couple of drinks. The staff were friendly and the food was terrific. Good area and clean. They had a special going on the Burgers which brought the price down 5 euros. But when we got the bill the price wasnt discounted. Let them know and they fixed it up straight away. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of beer options. Thanks for a great meal.

The burgers were simply awful — the meat was tough and burnt, even though I ordered it medium. The fries were clearly cooked in old oil, leaving an unpleasant taste. For food of such poor quality, the price is too high.

Unless you order burgers, do not waste your money here. The Wings, nuggets and chip and fish are not made fresh and are fried out off a frozen bag. Just tasted like a bad breading fried in old oil. Pretty much inedible.

We really enjoyed it. You feel welcome and are served attentively, quickly, and friendly. Burgers were delicious, medium rare was perfectly cooked, fries were crispy, and the sauces were included. The prices are really reasonable for Amsterdam, as are the beer, water, and cappuccinos. The location with the view alone is worth a stop. The outdoor area is also attractive.

Quick stop in the afternoon for the beer in the sun. Nice nachos, nice beers and burger to eat. If you are up for some people watching, great place to do so. Beer a bit expensive though.

This was an amazing burger and dinner experience. I didn't have an as good burger for a looong time . The service was nice. Moving table from outside to indoors was no problem. It was busy but we didn't wait very long. And I really can't say often enough: the burger was really good. I had the hull burger and my bf the classic. Absolutely recommend 👍🏼

Nice vibe to chill outside in summer

Sorry, but the service is subpar. 2 girls who are more concerned with themselves...we just want drinks and are ignored. After 15 minutes of doing nothing, a waitress is in a bad mood and prefers to sit at her laptop. Ambiance is actually very cool. But we went somewhere else to eat.

Delicious food with super service. Come here more often and live in Limburg. The account was debited twice but was neatly transferred back the next day.

Looks like an ordinary establishment. But the inside has a great look and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The waitresses know their business. The food was prepared quite quickly. We ordered steaks and Caesar salad. I liked everything. The steaks were tasty and properly cooked. It is quite crowded in the evening.

Top Steak with the best pepper sauce i ever eat!

This rustic charming eatery allows diners to take in people watching as well as enjoying views of the canal and its traffic. Our dinner of fish and chips was fresh, hot and very tasty. Good value and friendly service.

A burgers and hotdogs kind of place, on the harbour near the train station. It's a sports bar, with about six or seven large screens, which were showing golf when we came in to eat. My giant hotdog was pretty tasty, as was my son's burger, but the rest of the family's salad and sandwich were disappointing. Would be good if you actually fancied watching some sport with a burger and a beer.

A burger for 18 eur and its cooked in a convection oven? Are you for real? The waiter asked if I wanted medium I said yes, what I got was a totally dry, overcooked burger with a "special sauce" which I believe is ketchup and mayo, they even did not bother to chop lettuce properly, just few big chunks and its good to go, bacon was not crispy and fries were just heated up old fries. Im sorry, but this is not just an average food at best, but its taking a piss from the chef, who is too lazy to use a f grill but instead relies on the oven. By the way it was not a busy time, just few tables, cant imagine how the quality drops once it gets busy.

Some staff members really need to learn the basics of politeness! „You welcome” , please , enjoy ! Learn to smile the guests and greet them without the face like „why u come here” .

I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was old fish that apparently had been frozen. It was brown. They loaded me up with pieces or Kibbling when it stated on the menu fish and chips I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. however, the server was extremely friendly and kind food was Most horrible

So, on our way back, we stopped at this place, and it was beautiful, Right next to canal so it had a gorgeous view while there's I ordered the chicken burger which was spot on the sauce they've put on the burger tasted so good Highly Recommend visiting this place if you get the opportunity

We were out on a work outing with a group of 8 people looking for a simple meal after a team building activity. The food was okay, but the service was terrible as our waitress was extremely rude. She refused to take a picture of our group since she was too busy, despite us asking nicely if she could come back for it later. When it was time to pay, her colleague told us we could split the bill at the till and once again the same waitress was not accommodating at all and told us it couldn’t be done. When I mentioned we were told otherwise just moments before, she replied: “well that is too bad for you” (in Dutch, thinking I wouldn’t understand it). Won’t be back.

Food came out fast and extra hot. Service was reasonable. Ordered a "chicken burger". Expected a fillet. Didn't know it would be fried. Not my favorite chicken sandwich. Just not a flavorful chicken patty and not a great combination of toppings and sauce. And the sandwich came drenched in "burger" sauce which ended up all over my hands. You can definitely do worse than this place but the 4.4 star average is a bit overrated in my opinion.

The Bull is really highly recommended! We ate a really brilliant “lady steak”. It was so buttery, absolutely amazing! The pepper sauce tasted really awesome! The side dishes are also great! So please eat a steak there :) The service was very friendly and in a great mood. The dessert was great too! We even got a shake on the house and nobody knew why and that made the evening really fun :D Thanks again for that! The atmosphere is also very nice :) This was definitely not the last time and we are looking forward to our next trip to Amsterdam ;)

This is in a great spot .... right on the harbour. I called in for dinner, opted for schnitzel. Schnitzel was OK, served over a mound of chips / fries. When this happens, I never know how you are meant to cut the schnitzel. If you cut it, you are going to squash all the chips / fries which are underneath it ... Anyway, the chips / fries were on top of a ? I thought it was a serviette .... but when I uncovered it ... I think it was a paper cone that you would serve fries in ? Bit weird ! Anyway, schnitzel was OK ... not great, just OK. But have to say (some of) the salad leaves were brown ... not good.

I ordered a burger, it wasn't great, the meat was obviously processed meat, it barely had a taste. The cheese also didn't taste cheese. The French fries were nice and the place itself is cool. I wouldn't pay 16 euros for such burger so wouldn't go back but if you're there and that's the only place open around then it's an acceptable place to eat at.

Very friendly staff. I had a cheeseburger and a brownie for dessert. Not just any brownie. Guys, I have never eaten such a perfect brownie in my life. It is heavenly and magical. Do you think I'm exaggerating? Try it and you will understand.

The food here is great! We had 25 minutes before a boat trip, they said no problem, it came in under 15 and was delicious. The burgers are massive and juicy, the staff were fun and chatty, the atmosphere was nice. Would definitely pop back if I visit Amsterdam again.
