Friendly staff who made sure there was a good atmosphere! The food itself was delicious, I definitely plan to come back again :)

We did a spontaneous walk-in one rainy evening for a small supper. The vibe was excellent, the staff was welcoming and spoke perfect English and the food was exquisite. We tried the pizza Margherita, Burrata salad and tried some of their white wine selection. It was such a chill and lovely experience. It was the perfect supper we were hoping to have. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely visit again on a sunny day very soon and try the terrace seating!

One of the best pizzas I've eaten in Nijmegen so far. I think the owners are Italian? So you can count on high-quality and authentic ingredients.

Pricey, very long wait for food (with a toddler), and a tough Margherita pizza. No more Renato’s for us.

The three of us went out for dinner in the evening on King's Day. From start to finish, the service was peculiar. The pizza was delicious, but after arriving at 7:00 PM, it took a very long time before we received our menu. There was only one person serving, a young girl of no more than 13 who was 'helping' her. Very sweet, of course, but not effective. We ordered the drinks from the young girl, but she came back because she had forgotten them. By then it was 7:50 PM, we still hadn't received our drinks, and we really wanted to order a pizza. We asked the older lady about this. However, she walked away stressed and said, 'No, the drinks first.' Fortunately, the pizza eventually went very quickly, and just after eight, we were finally sitting down to eat with a drink. However, before we had finished eating, she came to ask if everything had tasted good. Two of the three still had full mouths and couldn't answer. The three drinks were missing from the bill. However, it was not communicated whether these had been deducted for the wait? We were thanked profusely, but the communication was quite lacking. We come here often and it seemed like a one-off mistake, but a very peculiar one nonetheless. We laughed a lot at the absurdity. ;-)

Very good pizza in a cozy atmosphere. A lovely terrace when the weather is nice.

Ordered Quattro Formaggi... The pizza was inedible; everything slid off, including the cheese. The dough was wet, limp, and incredibly thin. It turned into a big soup, and everything fell apart. Paid 34 euros including shipping; a terrible waste and the worst home delivery I have ever had!

We had a delicious meal here. We came via Social Deal, so it was €25 per person, and afterwards we were both completely full. So it is definitely worth the money. The pizza was wonderfully fresh, the bruschetta was delicious too, and that tiramisu with all the bad reviews was just super tasty. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended!!! We had a delicious meal here with a group of 14 people. Because we were going to the theater afterwards and were a bit short on time, the staff took that into perfect account. The pizzas were incredibly tasty and the service was very friendly and pleasant. An ideal place for larger groups!

Really friendly staff. Drinks were good, we had cocktails. Pizza was okay but nothing special. Bruschettas were a disaster, soaking with oil, bitter.

Tasty pizza bases! Flavorfully topped. Many vegetarian options. Staff is super friendly, also to children. Tasty cocktails, also serious soft drink options, dessert menu is not very extensive. Acoustics could be better. Value for money is perfectly fine.

Unfortunately, the pizza didn't impress me in terms of taste. In my opinion, the dough left much to be desired in terms of texture, elasticity, and flavor. These shortcomings weren't compensated for by the generous size of the pizzas, as for me, taste is more important than portion size. Given the subpar culinary experience, I don't find the prices justified.

The food here is really, really good! The only minor drawback was that I really wanted to take home the last few pieces, but I didn't get them and even forgot about them (pregnancy dementia😅). I literally cried in the car because I didn't have it, so that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. It was so delicious that I was literally sad I didn't have more! 😂

No welcome for the first 10 minutes at all. A long wait and a wrong pizza at first (which we got extra for free). But delicious pizza!

Great place, the pizzas are well-topped and taste just as you'd expect :). For a reasonable price, you get a three-course menu with a generous starter and dessert. Good and fast service and good wine!

The service was friendly and polite, and the space was spacious enough. The atmosphere was good. The food was reasonable, considering the price. The starter (a platter with various appetizers such as sausage, salami, cheeses, and olives) was okay. We didn't enjoy the main course (pizza) very much: the pizza crust was very thin, soft, and seemed undercooked. The pizzas were decent, but not lavishly topped. We found the tiramisu rather bland, and the different layers were indistinguishable in terms of taste and mouthfeel. It was a shame that the chocolate sauce with the dame blanche wasn't served separately and warm.

Service was super nice, very friendly. Was here with a Social Deal (3 course). Starters were tasty, as well as the pizza. Although I must say there are far better pizza’s out there but with the price of the deal I’m not complaining about that. What was really disappointing though was the tiramisu as desert. Never had such a bad tiramisu in my life. Just a mouthful of mascarpone without taste.

Online delivery unfortunately is not good. It took more than 2.5 hours that I get my order while it is only 10 minutes walking distance from my house. Delivery time has been changed 10 times. In the past also I got cold pizza often. If they really care about customer, should not use Uber as a delivery. It is expensive, delivery basket makes food cold, and taking long time.

I didn't really like their pizza margarita. It was below average, had a very little amount of cheese or perhaps the wrong type of cheese.

The first place I ever had a massive stomach ache after eating pizza. I even took half the pizza home and tried another slice the next day, but the stomach ache was back again... I have no idea? Maybe it was the ham? It's a shame because the restaurant is in a nice location, but I won't be going back again.

Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, and the food is good. You just have to call the waiter to your table. Unfortunately, not 5 stars because the starter we ordered to share for 4 people (Tagliere at 13.95 per person) was disappointing. A minimal platter was brought to the table, which was disproportionate to the 55.80 you paid for it. Such a shame.

So disappointing! The pizzas used to be actually very good pizzas there but not anymore. First they got my order wrong and then once you taste the pizza it does not have any flavor. The “Parma ham” it’s not even Parma, it’s tasteless and the base of the pizza it’s just hard… unfortunately the price (ridiculously high) does not match the quality. I am going to find another a proper Italian place.

Delicious pizza, good service, and a cozy spot. The evening ended on a bit of a downer, though. We still had a dinner gift certificate we wanted to use here. This restaurant is also listed on the diner-cadeau website as one of the participants. However, when we went to check out, it turned out this wasn't possible. That left a bad taste in our mouths...

We were out for a special evening before a concert with my 8 and 10-year-old daughters and their friend. We'd heard Renato's was great, made a reservation well in advance, and arrived 10 minutes early. After being shown to our table at 19:00, we ordered drinks and food within minutes of sitting. The drinks came immediately but the food didn't. We sat there for 45 minutes until 19:50, watching stacks of pizzas go out the door for delivery and takeout., No one came to our table to explain the delay and see if we wanted another drink, much less to apologize or even perhaps offer a free drink, something a good restaurant would have done under the circumstances. Instead, we were completely ignored. The girls were getting increasingly hungry, upset, and worried about being late for the concert. I should have gotten up sooner but, not wanting to be obnoxious, didn't. At 19:50, I finally got up and walked to the kitchen and explained that we had a concert starting at 20:15. The food finally arrived at 19:55, lukewarm, with the outer crusts of the pizzas so hard and dried out that we, not only couldn't eat them, it took every ounce of strength I had to cut the pizza into pieces, having to stand up and saw through them in front of everybody. I suspect that the pizzas had been sitting under a heat lamp for 20-30 minutes, at least that's what they looked and tasted like. We gobbled as as much as we could down in 5 minutes, leaving over half of the food ordered, including two side salads that we'd only had time to taste. What had been a bad experience had become awful. After arriving at the concert a few minutes before it started, we had to settle for seats at the far back. Although the concert was amasing, what should have been a wonderful evening was tainted by the terrible experience we'd had at Renato's. Unless you're just out for a few drinks and don't care when your pizzas comes or what they taste like on arrival, I can't recommend Renato's if you expect anything more.

Super tasty pizzas, highly recommended

Recently, the two of us dined here. We started with the antipasti platter for two. It was a delicious mix of cold cuts, cheese, and olives. For our main course, we had pizza Nduja and Cicciolina. Both were well-topped and very flavorful. The pizzas had a nice thin crust and were perfectly baked! For dessert, we had the tiramisu. It was a bit disappointing; it lacked a coffee flavor, and the mascarpone (?) mixture was very firm. We will definitely eat here again. Oh yes, and last but not least, the service was excellent! I ended up here through a social deal. A warm welcome awaited me at a lovely restaurant. They mainly serve pizzas, but you can also order pasta. The menu is simple but good. The dishes were also excellent and very tasty. Pizza Nduja was especially delicious. The crusts were also good—not burnt, but perfectly baked. The pizzas have a Roman crust, thin and crispy. The dessert was delicious, the tiramisu could have used a bit more flavor (and alcohol), but otherwise, it was fine. The restrooms were also worth mentioning; they were neat and clean. In short, definitely recommended.

Gluten free pizza option. Very fresh, calm place. Good choice.

I'd been there once before, and my pizza was delicious. The second time, my gluten-free friend and I ordered pizza through Uber Eats; the pizzas arrived cold, but that's Uber Eats' fault. My problem is that the gluten-free pizza is more than ten steps lower in quality than the gluten-containing pizza. Besides the fact that the crust and base were much thicker and drier (which is to be expected from gluten-free pizzas), the cheese didn't even melt, as if the pizza had been baked without cheese and then sprinkled with cheese, after which the cheese softened a little bit because the pizza was still warm. A gluten-free frozen pizza from Oetker would have been even better and a 2/3 of the price. There was also no basil on the gluten-free pizza. I don't know why gluten-intolerant people don't deserve basil, but apparently it's a thing. See my photos; the second photo, with the pizza that's furthest gone, is the gluten-free one.

Service was inconsistent. Very nice, friendly, and efficient girls. They get five stars. But that blond, English-speaking boy doesn't fit the atmosphere and the quality of the pizzas. Very nicely decorated inside. The terrace was mostly in the shade late afternoon/early evening. Wonderful at 30 degrees Celsius. But bring an extra cardigan in cooler weather.

The food was tasty but nothing special. But almost 20 euros for a pizza is too expensive for me. I'd rather go to Kleve where you get much more for your money and better quality.

We had a delicious Pizza Calzone, and my wife had a Pizza Diabolo. The waitresses were really nice. I personally complimented the chef and shook his hand. We'll definitely be back.

What a fantastic experience we had at Renato's Pizzeria in Nijmegen! From the moment we made our reservation to the moment we walked out the door feeling satisfied, everything was perfect. User-friendly reservation: The online reservation was incredibly easy. Enter the date, time, and number of people, and you'll receive a timely email confirmation. When we were a little late due to unforeseen circumstances, a friendly phone call and they were able to accommodate us 15 minutes later. That immediately put us at ease. Warm and attentive staff: The team was incredibly friendly and radiated a passion for their work. Our children weren't overlooked, but rather celebrated. They were truly pampered—a real treat when dining out with the family. Cleanliness and child-friendliness: The restaurant looked well-maintained and clean, including the restrooms. And importantly, the restrooms were spacious and child-friendly, with a comfortable height. Pizza fun for kids: An absolute highlight was the surprise for our children. One of them was named "chef of the evening," given a tea towel to wrap around his head and, along with his brother and sister, formed the pizza dough. And as if that wasn't fun enough, their homemade pizzas weren't served, but were given to them as a surprise to take home in a special children's pizza box. So they could enjoy them all the next day. What an original and incredibly fun idea! Delicious food & honest service: The drinks platter was honestly recommended for two people, even though they could easily have recommended more—which is to their credit. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced, from the appetizers to the main course and drinks. The menu was also surprisingly extensive. In short: Renato's in Nijmegen has stolen our hearts. Perfect for families, but also for an evening with friends or a date night. We will definitely be back!

Got ice cold pizza for 18 euros.

I.v.m. de Nijmeegse 4-dgse was het heel druk in de stad. Hier was het een oase van rust. Leuke en goede bediening. Afwisselende kaart, ook voor biertjes. Heerlijk gegeten, een aanrader.

Renato's is just outside the city center, on the other side of Emperor Charles Square. It feels like a real Italian restaurant. The pizzas are also marked in Italian and Dutch on the menu. The pizzas are delicious; I shared a calzone and a pesto pizza with my sister. I liked the calzone best, with a lovely soft dough. The staff is friendly and comes by often. The terrace is cozy, but it's on a busy road. Because the four-day festivities were going on, you were bothered by shouting people walking by. The traffic itself was also quite noisy. The chairs on the terrace aren't very comfortable. Fortunately, you don't usually sit for very long at a pizzeria. We didn't have time for dessert, so I didn't try it. In short, it's a great Italian restaurant, and you can always sit inside. Legend 1) Terrible! I advise against it; I'll never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations; I won't be back. 3) Okay, nothing wrong with it, but nothing special, nice for a one-time visit. 4) Excellent, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! I recommend it, I'll definitely be back!

We had delicious pizzas, too bad the peppers on the pizza are not smoked as stated on the menu. Service was also fine, fast and adequate. Point to work on the amount of flies/flies in the shop.

Good pizzeria. Fresh decor. Enthusiastic and motivated staff. Nice terrace on the street side. The kitchen can be busy even though the number of tables is manageable. This is because many pick-up orders are being processed. Been here for a second time now. The quality of the pizzas is still excellent. Service again friendly and attentive. Two pasta dishes on the menu as an alternative to a pizza may be a bit minimal. All in all highly recommended!

The four of us had a delicious meal here today! From starter to dessert, everything was great, with the Roman style pizzas, or thin crispy base, as the highlight. Coincidentally, we were in Rome a month ago and these pizzas are absolutely fantastic!

Absolutely my favourite pizzeria in Nijmegen. Incredibly pizza Romana with thin crust, and top-quality ingredients. Good selection of wines and Italian cocktails. Very friendly staff who will go above and beyond to guarantee a lovely night.

We had not reserved a table, but were able to take a seat straight away. The service was perfect and the atmosphere very cozy. We ordered a small bottle of sparkling water and a vase of Moretti on tap. We also opted for a Pizza del Mese (burrata, 'nduja, salame piccante) and a Parma e Burrata. The pizzas were well-made and most of the ingredients were of high quality. Still, I found the dough not risen enough (even if pizza Romana is made here), the tomato sauce not cooked long enough and the Parma e Burrata very salty. In addition, I thought the price was too high: €45.45.

Upon entering you are greeted by friendly staff. Not too big on the inside with a nice buzz around you. Fast and helpful service. Delicious pizzas and the tiramisu is highly recommended!

Update: I ate here for the 3rd time last Saturday. The antipasti starter was tasty, very varied. The pizza of the month was delicious and the tiramisu was also great this time! Had a perfect evening, thanks Renato's! Ate here for the second time tonight. The pasta and pizza were delicious. The tiramisu was very disappointing: the cookies were dry and the taste was therefore not good. We mentioned this to the waitress, she thanked us for the tip and would pass it on to the kitchen. Later she came to tell us that she had done this and she thanked us again for the tip, but nothing further was done with it. Of course, this didn't help us because our tiramisu was still not tasty. After indicating this again to the otherwise friendly waitress, we received a limoncello on the house as compensation. That partly made up for it.

Had delicious pizza and dessert. Only apparently because of the Social deal we had to clear the table for new guests, while we still wanted to order a closing coffee. This hit us hard because we were suddenly confronted with this. (I couldn't find it in the Social Deal terms and conditions). Unfortunately, that made the whole experience a lot less pleasant. Nevertheless, a nice meal.

The best pizza in Nijmegen and perhaps the Netherlands! The staff is very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is always amazing. I will say that the wait is a little too long though, so be prepared!

As a german I have to say that the food is just pure gold. The pizza and tiramisu tasted so damn authentic that im short of words for it. If i could i would give this place 6/5 stars for the food easily! Service was really nice and kind too! Only annoying thing is that the place is kinda small and it gets loud very quickly when there is full house. In germany for comparison, when you order pizza you get either a dough that is so thicc, that you cant taste any ingredients on it at all, or its so soggy that you only taste tomato sauce like this cheap 3€ ones from the super market. Renatos pizza place proved my girlfriend and me, that a authentic italian pizza with a thin but crispy dough, good tomato sauce and a few but high quality ingredients are worth more in TASTE then a packed, soggy and oily pizza from german! Thank you for that <3 (I have no pictures, because i couldbt resist eating instead of making pictures :'D)

Really nice atmosphere, pizzas were delicious (best in the city!) ice creams also very good but tiramisu was quite heavy. Unfortunately we had a not nice surprise with rancid olive oil that we used on the pizza. Of course we got a new pizza. At the end we received a receipt with more things than we ordered and we had to back to fix it. We left but disappointed.

We booked through Social Deal, and the value was excellent. The starters were the highlight of the meal. Although we waited an hour for the pizza, it was decent, with an almost perfect dough. However, the dessert was overly sweet for our taste. The tiramisu had a sticky layer with concentrated milk on top—an interesting touch, but the texture was somewhat off.

I order every week and this time I got the most soggy water filled pizza … I am so disappointed will not come again. 20 euros for this as a student this is outrageous

Prachtige zaak met de lekkerste pizza van Nijmegen. Wel reserveren is altijd druk en moeilijk om een plekje te krijgen.

We ate a 3-course menu at Renato's via social deal, so the price-quality ratio was very good. We liked the starters and desserts, the pizza was okay. As far as we are concerned, the base could have been crispier, but the base seemed undercooked and the toppings fell off as a result. The pizza taste was good! There is a nice atmosphere and the service was excellent, all in all we had a nice evening.

Paid 18.50 for a pizza that is not even half of the size of the pizza box, almost the size of my hand. For the price I feel absolutely scammed.

Nothing special. Quiet some wait for the menu and afterwards for the order to be TAKEN (15 minutes or so), with the time for making food - more or less appropriate Pizza is homemade, so with a crust - as for me 4/5

The delivery person took at least 20 minutes for a 5-minute ride. He couldn't find the address. We then contacted the restaurant. We were told that we were too negative (because we were afraid our pizzas would be cold). The answer was that the problem was with Uber. Then the connection was disconnected. Uber delivery person just as helpful. His answer was: not my problem. Good service!!
