We had a reservation through Heerlijk, but upon arrival the restaurant was closed

We were able to make a reservation for lunch in the reservation system, but when we arrived at the door the restaurant turned out to be closed.

Had a booking for 18:00 for the 27th of April Not only were they closed, but also the only man inside just looked disgusted by us and kept on doing something in the back. And yeah, thanks for ruining the mood and the evening, appreciate that ;)

We have booked a dinner for the family during the restaurant week in Amsterdam for 27 April. When we arrived the door was closed and no lights inside. We saw a member if staff inside, but no one came to explain what is going in. No one answered the telephone... The evening was spoilt.

The food was impeccable, especially the gnocchi (which was the best I’ve ever had!)

We booked a combo (dinner+show) somehow my booking got missing. Got to the restaurant with 3 of my friends and the manager couldn't be bothered to accommodate us. They literally gave us leftovers after waiting almost an hour to get things sorted with the organisers. He couldn't even offer us a drink to compensate our time. If we left, he wouldn't have been bothered. Shame

We made reservation months ahead for a four course dinner as a group. On arrival, we were informed that the restaurant didn't have our reservation, we showed email confirmation, and we were eventually served in "left-over" portions of meals. The manager could have done better handling the situation. It was a disaster, though the meal was tasty.

Got food poisoning while the others didn’t get it. Wrote a message to the restaurant and received no response. Missing some decency there.

We booked the package deal with a show at Coqtales and had a fantastic evening with our group. The service was very friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious! Highly recommended!

Do not go here - the waiters are rude and unaccommodating. Food portions are small and bog standard. Do not waste your time or money.

Don’t eat here. Rude service. Booked a table of 8 months in advance for a bachelorette party and they gave us two tables of 4, even though there were 4+ tables of 2 free. Couldn’t even try to accommodate us.

We had a lunch booking amd was not made clear it was to be the set menu. Was 3 courses but we didn't want the desert. The server was very nice and as helpful as he could possibly be. But we were pretty disappointed with the food, only x 2 choices for starter amd main, all of which I wouldn't really order and the cut of meat was very poor. The steak was more sinew than meat. We can't coment on the vibe as we had a 12pm lunch booking and were the only ones there! Which I also thought strange being a busy international city... All I all maybe we would have preferred the dinner and had we had the a la carte menu, our experience may have been very different. Just wish they would have been transparent about the set lunch menu when booking.

A great combination of elegance and coziness, the food and wine are high-quality and the service is good. The atmosphere is good although there were multiple tables of different group bachelorette parties, which diminishes the atmosphere. I don’t know if they commonly attract crowds like that. Overall great, although the price a bit high for value.

MK and Junda were very hospitable, otherwise the ulcer is very elegant.

Dinner at ACE was phenomenal. The bread (appetizer) was good, the main courses (Simmentaler Ribeye, Lobster Thermidor, and Black Angus Entrecôte) were delicious with generous portion sizes, and the wine was high quality. In addition to the stellar food, the waitstaff were kind and attentive. It was the best price to quality ratio of all the restaurants we visited across Paris and Amsterdam. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Zeer goed 5 gangen diner. Prachtig smakende voorgerechten met makreel, inktvis op twee manieren bereid. Zeer mooi gegaarde en geglazuurde varkenswang. Met als hoofdgerecht prachtig mals stukjes rundervlees met groentes en mooi ingekookte jus. De borden zijn heel mooi opgemaakt. Leuk dessert met aardbeien en yoghurt ijs. Prima wijnkaart. Enthousiaste bediening mede ook door de jonge chef. Prima espresso. Werkelijk value for money! Het is een nogal donker restaurant. Ondanks het uitstekende diner weinig gasten. Lopende door de Utrechtse straat en ziende dat de andere restaurants goed gevuld zijn denken wij dat de zeer donkere inrichting van ACE niet uitnodigend werkt.

We received comments because we made "too much noise" at a bachelor party. While this restaurant is part of the coqtales experience. the food was also really too little and substandard. Cake with food coloring instead of Red Velvet cake. 1 slice of steak, barely 1 CM wide. Really disappointing. Do not book if you want to see the coqtales show. It's better to choose a restaurant yourself.

Lekkere kleine kaart. Ik hou ervan niet een hele bijbel aan gerechten te hoeven doorspitten. ACE werkt uitsluitend met dagverse producten. Dan kun je nog wel eens teleurgesteld worden als nou net de kreeft waar je je zo op verheugd had uitverkocht is. Dit werd overigens meer dan voldoende gecompenseerd door de beste steak Rossini ever! Geen lullige porties en één bord overdaad! Geweldig! Hetzelfde mag gezegd worden over het voorgerecht van Noordzeecrab. Bediening uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam en man wat een mooie zaak. Ik hou ervan!

Mediocre experience regarding the food. The price-quality ratio here is incredibly skewed. Food was really boring and simple. For this money you expect a wow experience, but that was absolutely not the case.

WE WILL NEVER LOOK FURTHER ARE ENOUGH NICE RESTAURANT NEARBY AND GOOD BUYER HENNY Were in Spain, wanted to come over especially for our daughter, sent an email twice, called and explained, heard nothing, but arranged through Dutch friends. When we arrived at the restaurant, we wanted to hang up our coats, which was not possible, as there were 14 of them. You can imagine what a mountain of coats there were on a chair in the corner. There is no way to order Chardonnay other than another bottle on the menu, I thought €50 was gone Were the first customers at 7 pm only had bottles of €120.- my daughter did not agree to this then €90.- per bottle, so as not to ruin the evening for 14 people, do this. Food came to the table was tasty but so little meat was as small as half a slice of cheese and that for €42.50 pp😳 Bill was €1350, which I unceremoniously paid to pay for the vote We were still hungry after this and went to the bar and ate bitterballen. In short, a nice tent, but quickly forget about the rest and move on with your life. For this price in institution there are nicer and cheaper tents. Henny

Eergisteren mijn verjaardag gevierd bij jullie en ik moet helaas zeggen dat (niet alleen) ik extreem teleurgesteld was. Ik ben nu meermaals bij jullie geweest maar gisteren was een totale schande. Ik wilde eerlijk gezegd opstaan en weggaan, maar doe dat maar eens tegenover je gasten… achteraf had ik het wellicht beter wel kunnen doen want iedereen vond het niets. Allereerst: De jongen die ons hielp was aardig, dus dat terzijde. Maar wat een drama: - Meerdere wijnen waren er niet waardoor ik gedwongen werd om een €120 wijn te moeten bestellen, kreeg zowaar korting nou poeh poeh maar alsnog €30 per fles meer dan ik wilde - Er waren maar twee flessen champagne, was er ook allemaal al niet meer - Het eten was zo schandalig weinig, dat we na het eten bij jullie serieus naar een ander restaurant moesten gaan om meer eten te bestellen - Er werd aangegeven dat het een vast menu zal zijn en die nog besproken zal worden, niet gebeurd Of de rekening klopt, weet ik niet. Deze heb ik uiteindelijk als verrassing gekregen. Maar het feit dat de gehele groep zich afvroeg waarom ik jullie als restaurant heb uitgekozen want het was zo slecht, is niet oke. Een antwoord zal ik niet gaan krijgen denk ik want op mijn eerdere twee mails in de afgelopen weken is ook nooit gereageerd. Ik ben oprecht teleurgesteld. Ik ben absoluut niet iemand die normaal zal gaan klagen, maar het was zo teleurstellend dat ik me gedwongen voel om dit te doen.

Starter a bit too simple, main course and dessert well executed. We were not asked if we wanted bread or fries. The top floor at the front is less beautiful than the rest in terms of interior.

What a great thing! Nice reception, explanation of the dish at the table, explanation about the top wines they have. Took 5 courses and it was a sensation in my mouth! I will definitely come back!!!!

Delicious meal on Sunday evening, pleasant and friendly service

One of the best treats in Amsterdam. You will not be disappointed. Have the chefs menu with wine paring. Wonderful service and lovely ambiance and outstanding food. I've been back twice.. and I have more planned!

I had a wonderful night out with a friend here. Greatly enjoyed the food, the wine pairing was done with thought and complimented the dishes perfectly. We were early and they seated us exactly were we wanted in an intimate alcove upstairs overlooking the city.

We have had a wonderful meal at ACE. Fabulous food and excellent staff. Very helpful and very attentive. Highly recommended. A fantastic evening. Many thanks

Enjoyed a very tasty 5-course menu. Nice place, nicely decorated and very nice service. Top-quality food, but without that exaggerated "air" that you experience at various other top restaurants. Just nice and relaxed, with a few jokes here and there, while enjoying a seriously classy menu. When I thought that the deer could have a slightly nuttier wine, we were immediately offered two glasses. My wife liked their first choice better, I enjoyed the slightly nuttier wine more. Absolutely recommended!

One of the stranger restaurant experiences I've ever had. We had already booked for a bachelor party 3 months earlier. Once we arrived, it turned out that our group was not sitting at the same table (quite inconvenient since some speeches were planned). When we said something about this, a manager was called. The first thing he said to us was, “Is there a problem with the tables?” in an irritated tone. Not even a 'welcome' or good evening' or something like that. We said that we had booked 3 months in advance and that it was strange that there was no room for us. “We were emailed about that,” he said (it wasn't, we checked later) and “I'm here with a floor plan” (how is that our problem?). The restaurant has never received an agreement from us for separate tables. If we had known this, we would have booked elsewhere. We have not received any apologies. People seemed especially irritated that we were not informed (again: we had not received any email and nothing was said about it when booking). So the tone was immediately set. We decided to accept it (you want to start the evening on a nice note for the bride-to-be) and rotate. This way everyone could sit at the bride's table for once. The rest of the evening the service was quite terrible. Orders were constantly forgotten or there was not enough cutlery or glassware on the table. We had to ask again and again for things that had been forgotten or did not go well. I think the boy who helped us was new, so he can be forgiven, but it didn't really contribute to a relaxed atmosphere. The food was well prepared, but not very exciting (for example, the starter was half an avocado with mayo). It was all nicely presented. The Verdejo was great and well priced. We ended up having a very nice dinner. But all in all it was just a pretty crazy experience. I would not recommend this restaurant. It's a real shame, because it is a beautiful, characteristic place with a lot of potential.

Superfijne sfeer, leuk personeel en geweldig eten

Overheerlijk 5-gangen menu gehad bij Ace met z’n tweetjes. Genoten van begin tot eind. Prachtige en afwisselende gerechten, heerlijke wijn, fijne bediening. Kortom, een culinaire verwen avond. Inrichting is ook bijzonder en een warme sfeer.

Best restaurant I have ever visited. Very luxurious and high-quality, detailed dishes. Service is very polite and professional, and the overall atmosphere is very cozy.

Nice interior and friendly staff, but the medium rare steak was well done and average quality + the escargots as a starter were very sour. Probably better to opt for the menu instead of choosing a la carte

Super netter und aufmerksamer Service, ein sehr feines Amuse Geule vorweg, das georderte Essen war gut ( Rindertartar) bis sehr gut ( Entrecôte und Beilagen) Das auf der Karte im internet gelobte Filet Rossini gab es leider nicht. Das Ambiente ist wie auf den Bildern zusehen eher dunkel. Aber aufgrund des SuperService hatten wir einen schönen Abend!

My experience at Ace wasn't totally negative; however I expected more, hence the 3 stars. To condense this review down a bit - the food was good. It wasn't so busy on a Thursday night, but we still waited 1.5 hours for our mains. For a 40 euro steak there was a lot of grizzle and fat to chew through too... Tasted like they got their produce from Albert Hein that day. Service was good, waiter was attentive and knew the menu. I don't get the theme of the restaurant though.. is it a casino? Card shark den? Pictures of women covered in blood on the walls was an interesting touch. If the staff made card jokes / puns it would make more sense (e.g "woah full house tonight, aye folks?!" Etc). At the end of the night, 250 euro for 4 mains a bottle of wine and a single starter to share just didn't cut it for this LVL 7 google expert. Wouldn't recommend. EDIT: I am now LVL 8

Great food and a very friendly staff. Thank you for a lovely evening ✨ Also had a chance to order their delicious green tea, and it's a real sencha tea leaves and not a silly tea bag 😄(In Holland restaurants usually offer tea in a tea bag, and restaurants with some real tea have a special place in my heart).

Bijzondere gerechten van hoge kwaliteit. Mooie ambiance maar toch laagdrempelig. Goede en vriendelijke bediening inclusief een enthousiaste sommelier. Als je top kwaliteit wilt voor een eerlijke prijs op een mooie locatie, is Ace echt een aanrader.

Bijzondere ervaring gehad. 4 gangen verrassingsmenu gehad. Voorgerecht was dik in orde, tussengerecht was als hoofdingrediënt prei, was prima maar prei ringen niet echt heel bijzonder misschien. Als hoofdgerecht kregen we tofu! Nou dat was zeker een verrassing! En vooral niet lekker. Wel goed gebakken, maar iets wat gewoon nauwelijk smaak heeft zal nooit smaak krijgen als je het als stuk serveert. Helaas terug moeten geven, maar dat werd heel goed opgelost door een alternatief! Oftewel, vreemde keuze om als hoofdgerecht tofu te serveren, maar topservice!

Tja 5 sterren zou betekenen geen ruimte voor verbetering. Alleen is 4 sterren misschien weer net niet de waardering die ze verdienen. Wat hebben wij enorm genoten. De combinatie drank en spijs was super goed op elkaar afgestemd. En sindsdien hebben wij een enorme voorkeur voor droge riesling ontwikkeld. Gaan wij terug? Dat zeker. Wil je spontaan langs gaan laat je vooral niet door de buitenkant misleiden, want dan zou jij je wellicht vergissen. Dit restaurant is zeker een must om op jouw culinaire verlanglijstje te zetten.

What an amazing experience eating at Restaurant ACE. We had an outstanding 4 course vegetarian dinner, perfectly cooked and balanced. Small but very nice wine selection and every wine harmonized perfectly with our meal. The service was so kind and attentive and explained every course to us. An upscale restaurant with an extremely stylish interior - a must when you are in amsterdam A big thank you to the whole team for that wonderful evening, you do an amazing job

Uitstekend gegeten, prettige sfeer. Muziekkeuze wekte of en toe verwondering. Zeker niet storend, maar soms echt niet passend bij de sfeer van het restaurant.

Het was erg verrassend en origineel eten. Service was goed en ambiance was fantastisch!

Nice restaurant in heart of Amsterdam. Not cheap but good quality and good service (although the very young waiter was quite nervous). All in all a nice evening with good food and wine there..
