Reserved via Social Deal for a 4-course menu; complimentary baguette, herb butter, and garlic sauce, very friendly service. Drinks were served quickly and the beer was nice and cold. Main courses were also substantial, but the catch is that if you booked through Social Deal, you have to pay extra for many meat dishes! Wide selection for dessert and you can even get a cup of coffee for free. We did see the owner (the chef), but he had little interest in saying anything 🤣🤣🤣

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with this eatery. I thought I would be enjoying a delicious mustard soup. Instead, I was surprised by a sweet and sour taste, and to top it all off, an unwanted hair. Very unappetizing. Furthermore, I found the cook (presumably Sjoerd) to be very rude to his staff. Constantly making derogatory remarks, giving orders, and creating an unpleasant atmosphere. Because of this behavior, I got the impression that the staff did not feel at ease, which made them act cold and distant as well. The restaurant itself was also old and musty, and very run-down. I would strongly advise everyone against eating here, unless you enjoy a nauseatingly relic of what is supposed to look like mustard soup, and a Gestapo-style cook who treats his staff poorly.

We had a delicious meal at De Postkoets tonight. The shrimp stew for starters, bavette skewers as the main course, and a lava cake for dessert. Well-seasoned and the meat cooked just right. Excellent service and a very friendly owner with whom we had a nice conversation. Highly recommended!

From what I saw, I felt that Sjoerd the waitstaff treated people very poorly, which I absolutely do not think is acceptable. Given that many of the waitstaff are young and still have a lot to learn, I do not think you should treat your waitstaff like that.

We had a delicious meal; the young team is very respectful and friendly. The food was absolutely to our liking and the portions are generous. We asked for a quiet spot and that was very nice. Definitely recommended, and making a reservation is also a good option. We were there for the second time and will certainly come back again.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a very good experience here. The staff who served us were really super friendly and worked hard. However, there was someone in the kitchen who only spoke badly and criticized other colleagues, while the food was of really poor quality. My wife and I got sick immediately while eating. But compliments to the hardworking waitstaff who were very hospitable. However, I personally would not recommend eating here.

Reserved via Social Deal. Service poor. Had to ask for a drink up to three times, even though it was very quiet. Food reasonable, but for €40 including drinks, you can't expect top-notch food.

The food leaves much to be desired; the price-quality ratio is completely off. Rock-hard potatoes, inedible salad in wine or something similar, and a starter platter full of dry prawns and mackerel and a wafer-thin piece of eel.

We found the beef carpaccio and the zvitello tonnata not sliced ​​thinly enough, which meant we soon couldn't eat any more of the main course. With the sea bass, little to no seasonings had been added (salt, pepper, lemon, garlic, parsley, dill, or thyme), which made it somewhat bland in taste. The service was very friendly, and with the discount from The Fork, it was certainly worth it.

Picked up, returned the first time; the tenderloin was sour and overcooked. Picked up the second time. Same story, unfortunately. The potatoes were too greasy. The lettuce was dry, and the bags tear as soon as you walk outside, covering the entire car upholstery. Went back again, returned everything; the gentleman refused to argue, and according to him, everything tasted good. No solution was offered, and I left. This was definitely the last time. I threw away €100.00 worth of inedible tenderloin.

Ate delicious burgers; it had been a while since they were this tasty! We were very pleasantly surprised by the fine food here, after reading some less positive reviews. Perhaps the chef was on vacation then, but not now! It is also very nice that they have decent dishes for children (steaks, chicken skewers, pork tenderloin) for a very reasonable price. (So here you get real food, and no frikandellen!)

Just dined at this restaurant via Social Deal. Rarely have we eaten so well and been so full. I couldn't even finish my dessert. The service was also superb. The very best part was that we brought our dog along—which isn't possible everywhere, by the way—and that she got a three-course menu at the same time as us. Every single time our course was served, a bowl was placed down for her too. They don't do that when it's very busy, but today there was room for it. If you are in the area, it is highly recommended. With or without a dog. We will definitely be back here soon.

Last night, on the way back from a weekend getaway, we stumbled upon this bistro by chance. Very cozy atmosphere. And it's also great that they are open on Mondays 👌🏻. An extensive menu with something for everyone. Very beautifully presented and it tastes exquisite. Compliments to the chef. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of it, but you can rest assured that it looked beautiful and appetizing. There were also plenty of hot vegetables, fries, roasted potatoes, and a salad as a side dish. Superb. The friendly staff must also be mentioned. Our dog was welcome too, which is always nice. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again. In addition to the regular menu, they also have a Social Deal menu and a Groupon menu. You have plenty of options here.

On Easter Sunday, we went here for dinner with two people and chose the reader's menu with a prosecco as a welcome drink for 32.50. A 4-course choice menu, where you have a choice of 4 dishes for each course. You could also choose a package with unlimited drinks, but we didn't do that. This is what we chose: Starter: carpaccio and mushrooms in beer batter Intermediate course: vegetable soup and French onion soup Main course: marriage of steak & salmon fillet and chateaubriand Dessert: creme brûlée and chocolate mousse First of all, a compliment on the presentation, because that looks good. We had to ask for the prosecco, but it wasn't tasty. When we went to pay, I saw at the bar that they were filling a pitcher containing some kind of lemonade with sparkling water, and that looked suspiciously like the "prosecco" we had been served. The carpaccio was fine, but the mushrooms were coated in a thick layer of batter and were overcooked. The vegetable soup was a bland broth with almost raw vegetables, the onion soup was also very bland, and the gratinated piece of baguette tasted stale. The steak in both dishes was nicely medium, but the salmon fillet was very dry, and the same applied to the outside of the chateaubriand. The prawns (which were supposed to accompany the steak and salmon) were missing. They were delivered later, however, when I asked for them. The salad served with the main courses was pasta (???) consisting mainly of white cabbage and vinaigrette. The fried potatoes (baby potatoes) were not seasoned, not even salted. The crème brûlée cream was fine, but the sugar layer was too burnt and had a burnt, bitter aftertaste. The accompanying ice cream was vanilla and not cinnamon, as stated on the menu. There was also a small white, mousse-like ball on the plate, but we couldn't identify what it was. The chocolate mousse was far too dark and was served on a dry piece of chocolate cake/brownie. The service was friendly, but the young girls had little experience in the hospitality industry. Conclusion: we won't be coming back here. Unfortunately!

Ordered a 5-course meal including drinks. The welcome was polite, but nothing was explained regarding what to expect. We ordered three delicious Texels Skuumkoppes and three soft drinks; the beers had to be paid for separately afterwards, as in my understanding, drinks were all-inclusive, which was not explained to us. The dishes were served with care, but a number of ingredients were missing, and in terms of taste experience, it was not worth repeating.

We went for dinner with our team and were able to meet before official opening time. The service was excellent, and the food and drinks were definitely worth the price!

We ate at the Postkoets in Haaksbergen. Yes, it was a social deal menu. It was ala carte, with a clear list of any additional costs for various dishes. That's fine, especially if you can order ala carte. The deal: for 2 people, as we ordered: Two amuse-bouches A bread basket with herb butter and garlic dip. Two Tapas Plates: Various delicacies including smoked salmon, eel, black tiger prawns, pastrami, fried mushrooms, melon with Parma ham, curry mayonnaise, and balsamic dressing. One Chef's Fish Skewer: Sole roll / black tiger prawns / salmon fillet with saffron sauce / pasta / spinach. Catfish fillet with black tiger 31/40 Fried whitefish / butter dill sauce / black tiger skewer. Tiramisu: Homemade chef's tiramisu with coffee syrup / mocha ice cream. Coupe Bistro: Vanilla ice cream / banana ice cream / strawberry ice cream / eggnog / caramel sauce. A rosé, a white wine, two Texel white skillets. Was it good? Ugh, well, here I go. Let me start by saying that I was born by the sea and grew up with fish. I used to say the further from the sea, the worse the fish. Of course, that's certainly no longer true these days. But gosh, they can make a mess of things in this restaurant. A tapas plate combining fish and antipasti with fruit. It could have been an exciting combination. But unfortunately, it wasn't. Really, with beautiful pieces of fish, they couldn't do anything. The shrimp were cooked too long and therefore tough. The catfish is certainly a beautiful and tasty fish, but you have to prepare it properly. Sole is also a delicious fish if you just... sigh! It started with an amuse-bouche, which was served with the announcement: "Here is the amuse-bouche." Followed by a basket of cold baguette slices with, well, what was it... a shame. The rosé was almost red and not tasty, the white wine was fine, and the Texel salad was fine. The fries were fine, the desserts were okay. It could all be so much better if the fish dishes hadn't been prepared with more skill and love. For now, I really didn't think it was good. Oddly enough, the restaurant was quite full. It was a Saturday late afternoon, early evening. Am I being too critical perhaps?

Today after 20 years or so coming back to the Netherlands visiting Haaksbergen restaurant De Postkoets. Remembering the old restaurant and former owner grilling a huge 'spies onwies'.. 1kg Filet mignon grilled perfectly.2 huge skewers of 500gr. Anxiously going back to the same restaurant only the interior has changed. A friendly young lady welcomed us in. The kitchen setup and bar has changed in the years. She gave us a table in the back and gave us a menu and went back to the kitchen. It took a little while coming back to our table taking our order. the whole service was bit off. took too long for her to come to our table. didn't ask one time if we liked it. maybe her young age and inexperience? We ordered two soups union soup and a goulash soup as an entrée and sharing the Spies Onwies by two. we asked for cuissono 'Saignant or medium rare. the Spies Onwies was served With baked small potatoes and French fries as a side order. One stroganoff the other peppercorn saus. the soups weren't very good as well. Unionsoup lacking taste of union and unions. The croûton.. wouldn't call this a tasty crispy croûton grilled with cheese. It was more like a salty broth. The goulashsoup of my table partner wasn't very good either. Chewy pieces of meat and no Goulash flavor. We've tasted many Goulash soups and unionsoups around the world these weren't very good unfortunately. The main dish was brought to the table and looking at the plates.. don't know just look for yourself! 🫣🤔 don't know what the chef owner tried to do but..AND it wasn't grilled saignant. Maybe the chef needs to go back to culinary school!! NO 1kg filet mignon? Very questionable the 1kg weight of beef! The peppercorn sauce tasted like the chef using roux as thickening not totally resolved when mixing a few green peppercorns but that's it. Stroganoff sauce made from instant package sauce. Both skewers well done instead of tender saignant. small pieces of meat if this was a kg filet mignon?? The greens on the plate.. sorry but this was not good at all. Don't know what this chef was trying to do? We just wanted to leave and get back to our hotel for the night. Before heading back to the hotel I went to use the toilet.. First of all the door to the back room couldn't open entirely and had to squeeze myself thru. entering the toilets what a stench. urine and moisture so gross. the door to the toilet itself couldn't even close so decided to leave and use the toilet at our hotel. One of the best check points of a clean good hotel hygiène restaurant is checking the toilet of that's proper clean. This said enough to me! No eye to detail in so many ways. Why? Has the chef owner lost his passion? This is a shame for every patron restaurant owner chef who is trying to do it the right way! reading some positive reviews online ..just unbelievable. remembering the good tasty Spies Onwies and coming back to the same restaurant to this awful gross place. As a former chef leading positions in michelinstar restaurants international and having worked as a chef at 5 star 'fine dining' hotels I like to believe I have enough experiences to recognize nice foods. and seeing myself as a foodie and food critic. Having 240.000 followers in total on different restaurant review sites.

The food was delicious, but it was served far too quickly. I ordered a sweet white wine and received a sparkling one! The baguette with herb butter sat on our table all evening, even after I'd asked several times if they could take it away. The table was already very small. We couldn't eat or talk in peace, which was very frustrating. Different servers kept coming by with different questions.

A while back, the two of us were here on a Wednesday evening. I know restaurants that are even busier on Mondays and Tuesdays than this one. There were two other diners next to us. More staff than guests. Unfortunately, we felt this also said something about the quality of the food. The meat wasn't tender and the potatoes tasteless. The price was also quite high compared to the quality. We also found the service rushed at the end. Unfortunately, not recommended.

We've been coming here for years. But last year we were so disappointed. We sit by the window and have lots of flies. We even needed a fly swatter. Lots of dust and cobwebs. The toilets are also quite dirty. Such a shame. And a fresh clean wouldn't hurt.

We had booked a Valentine's Day menu. After an hour, we finally asked if our carpaccio was coming, uh, yeah, the waitress said she'd check. Our order had been lost behind the counter, so apologies a thousand times over. 👍 Well, things happen, so after 5 minutes, the carpaccio arrived. Then we had to wait for the soup, and after almost another hour, we were asked if we wanted anything to drink. We indicated we'd prefer soup instead of drinks. Almost two hours later, the soup arrived; the waitress fetched it from the kitchen herself. We indicated we'd like our main course a bit sooner. This could have taken another half hour, because everything has to be freshly cooked. The tenderloin was indeed cooked a bit too long. 🙈 When we paid, the bar and kitchen were not clean, and that's putting it mildly. All in all, a one-time visit to Bistro de Postkoets for us.

We had dinner with my son and daughter-in-law on Saturday night. I'd never been there before, and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, good, fast service. The food was super good and delicious. I especially liked that the food was served on different plates!

I ate here at De Postkoets a while back using a Gamma coupon. Contrary to many other reviews, I was actually very satisfied. We had a four-course dinner and the food was simply excellent, nothing to complain about. Definitely worth the money for us. What really stood out was the tiramisu: it exceeded my expectations. All in all, we had a lovely evening and a positive experience.

The food was good, and it was delicious. Young staff, but very friendly, nothing to complain about. Only the person in charge of the kitchen wasn't friendly. He didn't speak kindly to the staff, and guests in the restaurant could hear him loud and clear. The atmosphere was different because of this. I feel sorry for the staff. Afterward, I had to put all my clothes in the laundry because everything smelled like deep-fried food?! The ventilation system wasn't good.

Try a Beyond Meat burger or one from the vegetarian butcher; it'll open up a whole new world for you. They can also offer vegetarians a variety of options. You can create delicious dishes with it. For the price we spent, we could have had a better meal.

02-11-2025 (50+)! We've never had such a bad meal as at this Bistro! We waited over half an hour for our food. The music kept cutting out. The staff hovered around the bar. While we were there, people arrived after us and then left earlier, which we found strange! All the customers were placed in the back. The front was empty. A glass of cassis, from the bottle, €3.50, which wasn't sparkling. A draft beer, almost €5.00. Mussels starter. There were five of them, covered with cheese in flavorless herb butter. €13.95, and five of them! We had to season the main course ourselves; there was no salt! And then the fried potatoes, which were awful, unpalatable. Just heated up in a package, not the tasty round potatoes with onions you'd normally find in a bistro, but greasy potato wedges from a single Albert Heijn bag. Terribly flavorless herb butter. Albert Heijn is even better. We were gone within an hour and a half. €94.00 lighter. We were still able to file a complaint; we felt ripped off. People, there are so many other bistros out there, just go this one. We'll never come back!

I went here for dinner yesterday, and it was pretty full, which means the place is doing well. It took at least half an hour before we were asked if we wanted drinks. And another fifteen minutes before I got the menu. We had a three-course meal, with a Stokbrook starter with garlic sauce and herb butter. The garlic sauce had a strange aftertaste, as if the chef had dropped a mint in it. My wife had duck for the main course, and I had spare ribs. The duck was a bit dry, and the fat wasn't cooked properly. This resulted in me not being able to eat a quarter of my main course. My spare ribs felt cooked; they fell off the bone, but they had absolutely no flavor. The dessert was good, though; that was my ice cream sundae. You could tell my wife's dessert was almost thawed...so not fresh. The atmosphere is also mediocre; the cupboard is a bit crooked. The ceiling lamp shades are coming loose. The power strips are hanging crooked. The toilet isn't kept clean AND the tables aren't wiped clean, but the paper is simply replaced. Furthermore, a dark-skinned staff member (who also worked the cash register in the evening) is complaining to other guests about her energy level. She took three plates, and a customer handed her a fourth, to which the young woman indicated her energy was a bit low because she'd been walking around a lot. She told the customer, "I'll pick up the rest soon because my energy is low..." You don't want someone like that in a restaurant. Beer prices aren't listed on the menu. But a draft beer is €5.00. I was quite shocked by this. The service from the young blonde woman was truly excellent; I really enjoyed how well she did yesterday (October 25, 2025).

Fantastic! We had lovely service and lots of laughs. We still have a lot to learn, but the atmosphere was great and everyone was trying their best. Been there five times now, great restaurant!

Poor quality food and sloooow service even with an almost empty restaurant. Company of 5. Ordered the speciality: Angus Beef Burger. Minced meat was more boiled than fried and was seasoned oddly. If this was ever lovely Angus Meat, they completely ruined it so we doubt the origins! All 3 was like that. Dry and old buns, too... Rest of the orders were not matching in garniture and main serving. Choose somewhere else, the kitchen shows no pride in the servings and insted have +20 dishes. All floor service girls (yes, they were young) were nice and pushed us a lot for buying more drinks during the fatal long wait. Maybe they get percentages?

We came for the 4 course menu via social deal. The only downside is that it took a bit longer than we are used to, which meant that our child could not hold on and got very upset. We went home after the intermediate course, but the staff still prepared the dishes and added many different desserts and extra baguette and herb butter. Really great service! Once home, the food was still hot and neatly packed.

Tonight we had dinner with 5 people here at the Potskoets, previous experiences were always good, but this time not so satisfied, starting with the service, we sat there for a total of 3 hours, which was the biggest part waiting for the food, after taking the starter we already waited an hour, for the main course 45 minutes, and the dessert half an hour, the meat was very good nothing wrong with it, the vegetables in it on the other hand were not fresh, and limp. the dessert, the ice cream came from the freezer which was not completely thawed, we got the drinks from a Univé insurance glass, very bad, you will not see me here again...

Ben hier laatst wezen eten met mijn vriendinnen en we vonden het heerlijk, we zijn hier met een goed gevulde buik weggegaan. Personeel was heel vriendelijk en hielp erg goed als we vragen hadden. De wachttijden vielen erg mee en het eten en drinken hadden we erg snel pluspunten dus! En het eten was natuurlijk verrukkelijk. We hebben genoten en komen zeker terug!

We had a delicious meal here, this is a real bistro as it should be.

Monday evening we were welcomed very friendly by a young lady. We ordered the 3-course menu with wine. Everything was delicious and was served with sufficient breaks in between and in good portions. The wine was not cheap (White House Wine 1/2 liter €.12.00) but caressed our tongue. It is a cozy and pleasant restaurant. We will definitely come back.

Worthless owner, bad service, broken toilet seat, food that was ordered was not served, soft drinks that were not fizzy, dirty dusty decoration and when you ask where your food is the owner says you should have raised your hand.... erm sorry it was ordered an hour ago your staff should take care of that not the customers themselves. And when you ask for your money back that was paid in advance that is not possible. In short, with an empty stomach back home without money. In short, never go here! Tried again after 2 years. Toilet still broken. Starter delicious. Main course terrible. Pork tenderloin dry and very sour taste. Was asked if it tasted good, I honestly said I didn't like it. The chef/owner comes in all upset that we had to leave the building. In short, nothing has changed in a positive way. Certainly in a negative way.

Had to wait a very long time for the food. The wine was a bottom in the glass, the mushroom starter was cold inside. The salad was served after a long stay in the fridge, the entrecote had a strange aftertaste and was full of sinews. The dessert made us decide to leave and not eat it, it was just spoiled!!!! In the past we often ate well here, we will definitely not do that again!!

Nice weekday dinner at the Postkoets. Friendly staff and good food. We both had a different skewer, the meat was deliciously tender. The desserts were also good and tasty.

We had a delicious meal. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was really sufficient. Furthermore, some tidying up is needed (toilets, entrance), it is all a bit old and worn. Sometimes it's small things like having the same set of cutlery at the table for all guests. One thing I didn't like was that the bill stated that 3 cups of coffee were charged 12.75.😯 I have never paid that for a cup of coffee before.

We ate there with a social deal and it was very good and tasty. I will definitely come here again.

Hier geweest middels een leuke actie. Eten redelijk, we hadden een 4 gangen diner. Aangezien ik geen soep lust en geen andere optie mocht uitkiezen, deze gang overgeslagen. Vervolgens werd er moeilijk gedaan over de drankjes toen ik wilde bestellen. Het meisje gaf aan : Er is al genoeg geschonken, hadden allemaal 2 drankjes op. Er staat toch echt onbeperkt drinken vermeld! Stel dan een limiet maar dit kan echt niet. Vervolgens gaf ik aan dat ik de 2e gang en ook het dessert niet hoefde, moest er overlegd worden of ik dan alsnog een drankje mocht. Echt niet klant vriendelijk.
