The food is incredible and the service is brilliant :) very very busy but we were still seen to and served very quickly! Very impressed

We had dinner here with our family just after Christmas.. beautiful restaurant, nice atmosphere and good service! I had a Steak with pepper sauce... steak was fine, pepper sauce was not my taste... I indicated this... and it was resolved very well... a lot of attention... immediately made a new one and some extra pieces of meat as a surprise... this was not necessary, but that made the Service even more special!! The rest of our family had a great meal anyway... that in combination with the good service we experienced makes this a distinctive business for us!!

Visited on 25th December 2024. We arrived around 10-15 minutes late due to turning up at the wrong Black & Blue restaurant - but the staff were still very welcoming. I ordered the mushroom & truffle soup which was amazing and my partner had the steak which was also amazing. The waitress took the time to understand how my partner would like his steak cooked and was attentive throughout the whole service. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we still had excellent service and would definitely return if we come back to Amsterdam again!

Pleasant! Delicious food and great service. Even without a reservation we got a nice table.

We have now eaten several times at Black&Blue in Reguliersdwarsstraat and the food is always of high quality, nice choice of wines, very friendly and attentive staff also stand out and complete the evening out. The whole ambiance is right!

Staff were super attentive, steaks were delicious and just as I'd expect them to be cooked, other food was also delicious (tart tatin and burrata)... Went with colleagues and had a great time. The only reason I took off a star is because there was a bit of a funky smell in the restaurant. It's an old city, so I'm guessing it has nothing to do with them but with something going on the pipes somewhere, and probably isn't like this every day. But it was a little off-putting for a person with a sensitive nose 😉

Really cute place and I really wanted to like it, but the food wasn't outstanding and the service was unattentive. I went with friends and we were so excited at the cute decor and nice table that they had reserved for us. After that, it took a really long time to get a server to take our drink orders. The appetizers (ham bruchetta and beef carpacio) were good, but the main course was kind of a downer, we all had some variety of steak and no one was particularly impressed. All in all, nothing exciting and nothing horrible. I also don't recommend the oysters as they seemed to be overly large and fishy tasting. Ordered sweet potatoe fries as well, they were delicious but came well after the main course as if they had forgotten to put them in the order.

Restaurant with a pleasant setting, interesting and good dishes, the beers are very good but the waiters get lost in their orders. The area is very lively and the evening can last late into the night.

My daughter had booked high tea for my birthday here. I found that very disappointing, 2 very small sandwiches per person and the rest only scones and chocolates. Unimaginative and not what a high tea should be. We had the chocolates packed because they are really not tasty, just chocolate. The service was very friendly by the way.

At 5pm on Sunday we were served quite poorly. Had to go inside after waiting for a while on the table outside. The girl and guy were quite slow, but oysters and the wine were fine. Small but okay. Service should be definitely improved, as you may lose clients , because we don't want to go back and be served like this again ,🥲 Places around do have 👍👍

Food was OK. What made it a really bad experience was the service. Inattentive, dismissive, and incompetent. I would avoid it. It is too bad, because the location is great and the cooks do a good job. Fire the front of the house.

I went to eat at this delicious restaurant with The Fork. The place is really nice, there's a nice atmosphere. The dishes they served us were delicious, delicious tartare and very soft grilled fillet, delicious ice cream chocolate dessert. Good service. I highly recommend it. The prices written on the Fork are exactly those we found in the restaurant.

Great tasty food, service had not been busy for very long so some small mistakes here and there, but this was well compensated by the hospitality level. The serious downside is that there were noisy, almost shouting neighbors next to our table. Management did not intervene at our insistence, so we had to do this ourselves.

We had a birthday yesterday and we enjoyed it so much. Food was really delicious. Staff were really friendly and helped us with everything we asked for. We had 2 people with allergies and our waitress, Sacha, noted them and guided us through a menu. Also they organised firework with a cake. Chef, Chris, was checking on us couple of times if food is okay. Thank you guys!

We had dinner as a group of 8 people, the service was good, the starter shrimp OK, the Black Angus steaks were disappointing in their taste, the doneness was medium, surprisingly chewy, apparently the meat was not the best raw material, everyone had the same experience. The steak didn't come with a separate sauce or it wasn't noticed to order something that could have improved the taste. The finger salt and pepper were "hidden" under the salad and when you noticed it, you could improve the taste a little.

What a bad thing! Cocktails from a machine and charged a price from a professional cocktail shaker who puts love into it. At the Hoxton around the corner there is love and passion, for the same price, which was really shameful. A non-chilled martini glass with a substance in it that tastes remotely like a cosmopolitan. With a slice of lime on the edge instead of an orange peel in it. Have to go back to the bar for some cranberry juice. A pornstar martini that was anything but creamy, with a kind of soap suds as a collar. Ordering a Bacardi cola was a kind of graduation assignment. Seems simple Bacardi and Coke to me, if I have different wishes I will let you know. No, no diet coke, no, no spicy rum, yes ice cubes. There was just a straw attached to it. A dry roll with herb butter that was rock hard and could not be spread. Shrimp croquettes as big as half my little finger for a hefty amount each. After the first drink we left quickly, they will never see us again. 55,- payment 3 drinks sandwich and shrimp croquettes. We are not stingy, but to earn your money this way, pfoehhh

Very tasty food, prices are fairly standard for Amsterdam. The interior is very beautiful. Very special, because you don't have a 'Dutch' accent, they automatically start talking in English.

We went with a big group, mostly we had beef tartar, tenderloin and Rib Eye, good quality, small portion considering the price. We tried the oysters, sorry but they weren’t fresh. It’s a nice restaurant, in a crowded bar/pub. Outside tables available, they need to improve the service, they didn’t follow a normal order to bring the different dishes.

Black and Blue truly impressed with its inviting atmosphere. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, creating an ideal setting for a relaxed evening out. However, I did find the drink menu and wine list to be on the pricier side, which may not accommodate every budget. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The staff appeared inattentive and slow to respond, which detracted from the overall experience. As for the food, the main course was delightful—bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. However, I felt it could have benefited from a more generous serving of vegetables on the side; just two little cherry tomatoes seemed insufficient to balance the dish, especially given the price of the mains. Overall, while the atmosphere and food were enjoyable, the average service and high drink prices made it a less than perfect dining experience. With a few improvements, this restaurant could elevate its offerings to match the quality of its cuisine and ambiance.

Absolutely unacceptable to be refused entry to a restaurant for which we had reserved 1 month in advance specifically for the New Year's Day meal. Reservation validated by the restaurateur. We paid an exorbitant amount for a taxi to get to the restaurant, only to find ourselves at 10:30 p.m. without a restaurant and without a plan B. Many of us were refused entry to the restaurant with a reservation, it's shameful. We missed the fireworks because we had to look for somewhere ready to accommodate us so we could eat.

Delicious food and a very fast service.

What can i say nice place. Food was good drinks also. But no go. Even its summer its so cold around 22 pm. All other bars make there outdoors heaters on they not?? I aksed because of the wind??? Why the other can??? I wanted to have one mire drink but i got to cold ;-(

Steaks there are excellent! Also love the design and atmosphere. Quiet place in the citycenter. Take one star off because of deserts- they were too sweet and pretty simple to my liking. Cheese plate was big but cheeses were supermarket quality (good but nothing special) Overall, recommend this place 👍🏻

Excellent food for a very fair price. We were treated very kindly by the nice waitress. The tournedos was too far gone, after I reported this I received a new one without any problem that was well cooked. The chef came to our table to apologize and was also very friendly. I will definitely come here again!

I visited this place with my colleagues when I was in Amsterdam for work. Great service, quaint ambiance and yummy sweet potato fries were highlights for me. My steak was prepared perfectly as well. Nice place for people to visit. Great neighborhood and route to walk through to get to this restaurant.

Nice restaurant in the city center of Amsterdam, where you are served excellent food, with friendly staff. In the backyard of the restaurant you can enjoy your food in peace and you are separated from all the hustle and bustle that takes place in busy Amsterdam.

Lovely, bustling bistro in the heart of the Jordaan neighborhood, Amsterdam. You're on The Netherlands, so you have tonpit your hand up if you need something, otherwise they let you be to enjoy your meal. Excellent food, great vibe!

I had booked a High Wine at Black and Blue for two people. It was really delicious, and the service excellent! The food was more than enough, and it was lunch for us too. It's not quite in the photo, but there were also three fried snacks per person. We didn't finish the sweet snacks, so we were given them in a container. I will definitely come back here again! Atmospheric restaurant in the pleasant Reguliersdwarsstraat. The food (much from the Josper, really delicious!) and the wine were fantastic. Received good tips for sharing a number of dishes. The employees were super friendly and helpful. We would love to come back someday.

This restaurant features a charming decor that closely resembles the style of a Van der Valk Hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. The food was good.

- Issue with couple next to us due to having selfie, no fault of staff - male member of staff ensured we were cared for and ensured we felt happy and safe at the restaurant as well as caring for couple we felt were in the wrong (caring for all staff) - Ilias- male staff member who care for us was brilliant, i mentioned briefly that it was my friends birthday and he brought us a cake on the house and when we asked for some more wine brought it to us himself. True gentleman and a brilliant place to eat. - This seems like a place where there are many locals so i can understand that tourist can probably be annoying but everyone’s needs were accommodated to. - Ilias was really comforting when another couple were annoyed at us taking a selfie but there was a member of staff who spoke dutch with the couple and complained about the ‘way we were’ unaware that my colleague also spoke dutch. - Food 10/10 over all service 7/10, one or 2 of the out of front staff were slow and unbothered by customers if it was Ilias alone 100/10, so attentive and kind. Would recommend this place completely overall.

The two of us wanted to have a drink here on the terrace outside. Seated here. After almost half an hour, the waiter asked us whether we should order at the bar and have a drink outside. No, she would be there soon. Forty-five minutes later, no one had come to ask us what we wanted. In the meantime, other people who arrived on the terrace later than us were served and helped to a table inside. (We only wanted to have a drink outside on the terrace) Too bad because it looked like a nice and good restaurant.

Very modern and chic restaurant in Amsterdam. We were invited, so I can't say anything about prices and menu. The service and the food were absolutely great. German was even spoken for tourists. Again any time!

I went here with a friend wanting to have a nice dinner since we hadn't seen each other in a long time. We used A Fork discount and got 50 euros taken off the bill and still had about 20 euros to pay, given we only ordered mains and one drink each. The portion size was disappointing for the high price advertised (see photo), but the food was overall good and the atmosphere was very cosy. Overall we felt like it was a bit of a waste of a good deal since the food didn't match our expectations for the price that it had.

We tried the steak and it was delicious. They come with a small portion of fries and some amazing roasted vegies.

I came already 2d time in a raw to this place. The food is amazing, really great Angus steak on a grill, highly recommended! The design of the restaurant is very beautiful and cosy, quite fancy, but what makes me especially like this place is a client oriented service. The people who work there is very caring and friendly, this level of service is hard to find these days in Amsterdam, I even felt for a moment that we were dining somewhere outside of NL, having nice holiday. Highly recommend this place!

I had a dinner here a week ago and the whole experience was just PERFECT! We probably shared half a menu with my friends and every single dish was amazing, we quite literally could not stop eating. Service was also really fast, kind and helpful, they took such a great care of us. If you come across a Greek waiter, ask him to help you pair a bottle of wine with your meal and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. Overall, huge thanks for all the staff for providing us with such a wonderful experience. Really, if you’re in Amsterdam you do not want to miss out on this place.

Very warm welcome. We were allowed to choose a table ourselves to sit in a warm, attractively decorated restaurant. Quite busy, but excellent acoustics and you can still feel "private". We ordered a bottle of Rosé wine and asked about the daily special. As a starter we had the classic tomato bruschetta and the variant with ham. Both delicious served on warm bread. Then a Burger was served and the Catch of the Day, which was red mullet, well cooked and with a surprisingly tasty sweet/sour sauce. The service is very friendly and smiley. We enjoyed.

We ate at the restaurant with friends, and we ate pretty well. It’s not great cooking, I’ve already eaten a better burger but it’s still very high quality! The garlic and herb bread as a starter was good, it was what we expected in terms of taste, not surprised. The burger was quite good, the cooking was respected. The fries, I don't know if they were homemade unfortunately... I don't think so. + lack of sauce (I like to have a lot of sauce for the fries). All this accompanied by a good little red wine. We still enjoyed ourselves and had a great time! If you don’t have a specific idea for a restaurant, I recommend it!

The service staff were super friendly and attentive, restaurant has a very romantic energy so i gave 5 stars to both. However, we need to wait for the mains around 45 minutes and for that long i expect the chicken is well cooked and well made, i got an undercooked chicken and the flavour is underwhelming.

The restaurant overbooked and that made the service bad. The waiters overlooked our tables and we had to wait way too long to get some help. Had to go to the kitchen to get some water myself, because the waiter never came with it. One of the woman waiter gave us a bad attitude when I try to tell her that we felt overlooked. This restaurant is not worth the your money. The food was 4/10.

Opuštena atmosfera. Menu karta je jednostavna, ima nekoliko veganskih i vegetarijanskih jela. Asortiman pića je iznenađujuće velik, vina se mogu dobiti i na čaše. Hrana je bila ukusna, samo su prilozi skromni i uglavnom se radi o Pommes frittes. Rezervacija je bila online i sve je bilo u redu. Cijene su nas ugodno iznenadile - večera od tri slijeda, aperitiv, vino, pivo, digestivi i kave nas je koštalo malo manje od 100€.

Dit restaurant gekozen op basis van de menukaart op hun website daar we voor 7 personen een restaurant moesten uitkiezen met voor ieder wat wils. Daar aangekomen met 7, blijkt er een heel andere menu te zijn die niet eens leek op hetgeen dat online stond. Gevraagd achter de andere menukaart, deze was er niet alleen, alleen het feestmenu dat ook nog eens veel duurder was. Beetje jammer dit en zou in mijn ogen niet mogen gebeuren.

Niente di che, carissimo, servizio approssimativo.Qualità media. Tavoli non pulitissimi.Si mangia con luci bassissime che non creano nessuna atmosfera ma costringono gli ospiti ad accendere le torce dei telefoni per vedere cosa c'è nel piatto! Tra il menù di Natale, proposto durante le festività e, quello pubblicato online , per lo stesso piatto differenza di +5euro. Non lo trovo corretto.
