I placed an order online. The food arrived after two hours. On the phone, they said it was due to the slippery conditions, but this wasn't the case anymore. The food arrived cold, and the mushroom pakora was a mushroom knife. Three bowls of rice came, but thankfully the saag paneer was quite good. The main drawback was the lack of communication between the two, and the food was disappointing. The final result was a disappointment.

It's unbelievable how a restaurant tries to offer a 50% offer deal and then in a sneaky way they decide to screw you by charging 7,5 euros a single bottle of water. This is miserable and unfair (especially when they give you the meal menu, and on purpose not the drink menu). It's really unpleasant to have to write these lines but I hope they review these silly policies of stealing money from customers. The waiter was kind and the place was also nice, it's a pity they just overcharged the water and ruined a possible 4-5 star review.

The guy was so nice. He came out to greet us. My wife wanted pizza I wanted butter chicken. He let her come in and eat her pizza while I ordered butter chicken. Great experience.

A fairly average Indian restaurant in a tourist area full of competition. Service is good, food is good but not amazing, and prices are reasonable.

Great Indian food. Prices are kind of high but portion is big. It's a small restaurant with tables arranged closely together but it was not crowded when we visited for dinner and lunch.

I would say safely that Indian Cuisine is my favourite food and I eat it a lot. My chicken Karahi was incredible. Best garlic naan I have ever had too.

Food was good But needs little improvement with taste

A cozy and colorfully decorated restaurant in Amsterdam's tourist district, with charming photos of Bollywood stars on the walls. Behind glass, you can peek into the kitchen to see what's happening. In the restaurant area, the service is vibrant and friendly. Reservations are recommended on weekends, as it can get very busy from 6:30 PM onward. This, however, doesn't detract from the friendliness and speed of the staff (both service and kitchen). Reasonable portions, with delicious and original Indian food, at a reasonable price. (Fantastic authentic curries, well-spiced and with a lovely texture – restaurant style with a big plus, even for vaginists). In short: highly recommended!

I ordered delivery from the restaurant and it took an hour and 40 minutes for my order to arrive. I ordered butter chicken and it was absolutely terrible! The chicken was tough and you could barely cut it. It wasn't worth trying at all.

Horrible delivery experience. Orders can take upto 2 hours. 3 times they have given me the same excuse that their delivery guy got stopped by the police and will come soon. It still takes 40-50 minutes after that. Food is decent, but not worth it. And they stop picking up your calls after some time, leaving you in the dark. There are other restaurants that give you good service and dont ghost you.

We had an amazing meal! I'm running out of superlatives to describe this experience. I was recommended Bollywood by a dear colleague, and my partner and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary here! The saag panir is worth writing about on Google. 5 stars. It's so good, it's unbelievable.

The food was delicious. A cocktail, however, was very strong and poorly prepared. The cleanliness of the place didn't meet our expectations. The table was sticky, the dishes dirty, and the seating was stained.

Had a great meal of the amazing butter chicken which came with rice enough to fill two people up to the top. Super tasty!

The butter chicken is the best I’ve ever had. The spices were absolutely amazing and balanced. For cocktails I had their Bombay Buzz and highly recommend it. Will be back next month when here in Amsterdam again. Or tomorrow 😉 before I leave.

Waited for 2 hrs for food when ordering from uber eats (ordered at 1830)and when calling twice the restaurant they said within 15 minutes, they deliver, i cancelled the order at 20:45 and got a phonecall from the delivery man at 21:15 but i already had left my house to another appointment

Easily the best madras in Amsterdam. I always stop by and get Chicken Madras and veggie samosas with amazing tamarind sauce. I come back as often as I can

The food and the service was really good!

If you want to be served quickly or in a average time, don't go there. We waited for ages (maybe one hour) to be served, we even asked how long we had to wait to finally be able to eat. They offered us something to eat but way to salty. Otherwise, the drunk lassie was good, nice taste and the food was nice. However, the level of spice is not indicated and as someone who can not really handle the spice, it was too much. By boyfriend, liked it and he loves spicy food. It's a shame, it looked good.

The food was a 10/10. I've been to several Indian restaurants, and this is the only one where both the curry and tikka came with a plate of rice. No need to order an extra plate of rice, because it comes free. 10/10 If you're coming to Amsterdam, I 100% recommend a visit.

We had a really bad stomach ache after eating at this restaurant. We hadn't even left. We had to go to the bathroom and got diarrhea. We ate here yesterday. The food was okay, but not particularly tasty. It took a really long time to get it. Compared to other restaurants, the price is a bit high. We ordered chicken biriyani, butter chicken, and thandoori chicken.

The food was average. The raita was sour, and after eating it, I had a terrible stomach ache. Unfortunately, the food didn't sit well with me. The staff were friendly.

La comida era deliciosa! Pedimos mantequilla paneer, Bombay aloo, pollo al curry madras, pollo tikka masala y ajo naan. Todo se preparó fresco, las verduras y la carne se cocinaron bien y con mucho sabor. Apreciamos que también proporcionaron una porción generosa de arroz, incluido en el precio. (Muchos lugares son tacaños en el arroz). La madras es súper sabrosa (era el sabor favorito para los cuatro) , pero ten en cuenta que es bastante picante - los labios de mi hija estaban entumecidos, pero no quería dejar de comerlo! Las patatas en el Bombay aloo se cortaron tamaños perfectos y eran agradables y suaves. El pollo estaba perfectamente cocinado también. La salsa de mantequilla estaba en el lado más dulce de lo que estamos usando también - por lo que agregar un poco de las madras ayudó a condimentarlo para nosotros. Gran comida - gracias!

We are tourist from Germany and when we went here the guy who attended was so rude in telling us to take a seat outdoors ‘if we want’ because apparently full indoors was booked; we couldn’t sit outside near a overflowing gutter of course!!! He was also very condescending when we asked if food will take time as we had train to catch. This is a place that spoils the name of Indian hospitality abroad!

Very rude owner or manager...it almost seemed he didn't want us to eat there ..one of the tables is set near dirty water and we asked to sit inside ..refused to even answer properly.

It's an amazing place with a lot of options for authentic indian food. The ambience will make you nostalgic if you are a bollywood fan. The staff is friendly and approachable.

It was real dirty like the tables were sticky and chairs had wax on them. the sofa , i can’t even describe it. As for food real oils , no taste would not recommend at all. Somehow the biryani tastes like weird spices with rice.

This was such a great place for food. I had the butter paneer, my boyfriend had lamb tikka masala, a fantastic amount of rice comes with the curry and we got a garlic naan to share. Wish I'd had my own garlic naan, it was so good!! We sat outside because it was such a lovely evening!

The restaurant seems to be following the current state of Bollywood – slowly going downhill. The food honestly didn’t match Indian taste at all... more like a touristy version far from any real Indian flavours. The vegan platter was... well, let’s just say I’ve had better meals in airplane food. Chicken and the other gravies were sweet – and yes, we had asked for it spicy. Not sure what went wrong there. Service was super slow as well. Ambience was also quite dull, nothing much going on. And to top it all off, they charged €6.5 for a bottle of water And no option for normal water. The only good thing was plain rice!! Overall, not really worth it. Pretty disappointed.

The owner pulled his big oversized suv up in front of the restaurant stopping foot traffic and rudely got out of his car and did not apologize to the people he abruptly stopped in their path. He was rude to me when I brought it up. I will never tolerate that kind of rudeness to other human beings. He is obviously a cast supporter. Yuk!

Was bloody delicious nice place

I had a very bad experience in ordering food from them today. The take the order under the name of famous biryaniwala on uber and it took 2hours for the food to come. When I called second time, the response I got from the lady who picked the call was "I don't know why Indians are so impatient with their order". Not only this comment is racist, she said it to a customer who has been waiting for the order for 2hours. She did not know where I come from and just assumed that she was talking to an Indian person. When I tried clarifying a bit, I was told that we are busy and cannot continue on the phone. I will make sure that I put this in my circle to ensure that all my known people in Netherlands know about this restaurant. They class themselves as Indian Restaurant and pass racist comments against the same country.

Dined here as a couple, one vegan and one non-vegan. Had to ask for the special vegan menu inside. They had many options and the food was very good! My partner had the spiciest dish and it was really very spicy.

There were only 4 other tables in the restaurant yet our food took over an hour. It was after 9pm so our options to leave and go elsewhere were limited or we would have left. In the end the food was pretty good but when the bill came it was €6.50 for a bottle of water!

If you are looking for delicious, authentic Indian food , Bollywood Indian Restaurant in Amsterdam is the best restaurant for it . The taste of the food is just awesome and the service offered by staff is really nice . Each and every staff member is very polite and friendly , which makes this restaurant a good place to dine in . I highly recommend this restaurant for Indian lunch or dinner to everyone . Especially , the non veg food is the best here .
