The food is good, it's just a shame that the indoor furniture isn't really comfortable. The outdoor lounge set definitely needs to be replaced; there are protruding nails and rotten wood.

Ate a delicious pancake with the children

I was there last Saturday, 19-09-26, for dinner with my two kids and my husband, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; we hadn't made a reservation. We were welcomed incredibly warmly and friendly. From the very first moment, we felt welcome and at ease. There was a really nice waitress who really showed her experience; she knew what she was talking about and what she was doing! And the same goes for a young man: super sweet and very warm. The reception was warm, personal, and professional. A really nice first impression! As for the rest, the play attic was unfortunately not as fun as stated on the website. They don't have a "game steering wheel / Xbox," which is a shame for my 11-year-old son. My 7-year-old daughter did enjoy watching a movie though! Otherwise, the food was fine! No complaints! We will be back soon, thank you!

We've been here a lot and have been for years. Unfortunately, it has deteriorated significantly lately. The exterior is falling apart, the interior isn't fresh, and the toilets are incredibly dirty (which is often a predictor of hygiene in general). It could use some renovation. The people are doing their best. It's a shame, because it has so much potential, and otherwise we would come here more often!

It is a nice place to visit in the neighborhood. However, there are definitely a few points regarding hygiene and service. I wanted to sit upstairs with my children immediately and asked for that. It is understandable that there are parents who only go upstairs to play with kids but don't order anything, but I was treated as if this assumption was made immediately. No warmth whatsoever. I am willing to pay Amsterdam restaurant prices, but I expect the hospitality that goes with it. Upstairs (where kids can play), everything is incredibly dirty every time. You can see black grime on the toys and climbing structures everywhere. I went to wipe it down with a damp cloth myself, and it was truly shocking. My children's clothes had stains as if they had been playing outside. In an establishment where people eat and hands can get dirty, you expect the play area to be checked and cleaned. Especially a place that is supposed to be designed for children. I come often and it only seems to be getting dirtier, which we find a real shame. Next time, I'll bring my own bucket and soapy water? By the way, I am really not a clean freak, but a line has definitely been crossed here. I sincerely hope that this is addressed and that all the children will be allowed to come and play in a clean play area. Finally, the stair gate is the most useless stair gate ever. In the hour we were there, at least 5 kids crawled through the huge hole at the bottom of the gate and nearly tumbled down the stairs. I have personally had to assess play equipment in public playgrounds, and this is certainly one of the most bizarre mistakes I have ever seen. Sorry for this review, but as a mother, you simply have to intervene for your own children and others.

The outdoor playground was fun for our 2.5-year-old, but otherwise it was disappointing. The staff barely made eye contact and clearly weren't interested. The changing table in the toilet was also very dirty, with even poop on the outside of the diaper bin…. In the upstairs play area, a lot of toys are missing or broken, and as stated in other reviews, the slide is unsafe because screws are sticking out. So, the concept is nice, but the execution is disappointing. The food was otherwise okay, nothing special.

Bruis is a place with a lot of potential, but unfortunately, in practice, it falls short. We visited Bruis with our 2-year-old daughter. It is certainly child-friendly; the playground is a very nice addition to the restaurant when the weather is nice. The indoor play attic is disappointing. The space could really use a thorough cleaning, and a renovation wouldn't hurt. A lick of paint here and there would work wonders. Additionally, I think safety could be improved a bit as well, for example by concealing the bolts/plate of the stairs so that children don't stub or cut their toes when walking past them. Regarding the food: The starter was very tasty. The main course, however, was disappointing. We had the Bruis burger; it was well-topped, but the burger itself wasn't very flavorful. Furthermore, the frying oil really needed replacing; you could clearly taste that. However, a huge compliment to the waitress. She was friendly, cheerful, and sociable. She did a great job. We won't be going here again anytime soon, which is a shame, because it really has potential.

The food was fine, but unfortunately, the service was incredibly poor. It really couldn't get any worse. One waitress was very rude and didn't come across as hospitable at all, as if she had absolutely no desire to work. Additionally, a mistake was made with our order. Instead of resolving this properly, they acted as if it was our own fault. The dish was subsequently taken away, but we still had to pay for it. (We received the money back later because we had brought this up with the manager ourselves.) Also, our children did not receive a free ice cream with the kids' menu, even though it is listed on the menu. To top it all off, when we were leaving, a staff member threw a tray down on our table to clear it. This came across as incredibly rude and disrespectful. So, the food was fine, but due to the very poor and unfriendly service, we will absolutely not be returning here. A restaurant visit is supposed to be pleasant and welcoming, and unfortunately, we did not experience that at all here.

We were looking for a quiet spot for brunch in Blaricum and ended up at Bruis. It was indeed nice and quiet, and the food tasted great too! The staff is friendly, the portions are fine, and the atmosphere is relaxed. So, as far as I'm concerned, definitely recommended!

We visited this restaurant and were very satisfied. We had a good apple pie. A big plus is the many possibilities for children to play, so the whole family will enjoy the visit. I also appreciate the pleasant outdoor terrace and the interestingly decorated interior, which creates a cozy atmosphere.

Nice place for children to play during dinner; however, the dinner was a bit disappointing and the service wasn't anything to write home about either. We were served moldy herb butter twice, after which, without saying a word, no new herb butter was brought. We also sat for another half hour after the meal without any service, so there were already a lot of flies buzzing over our plates. I have been here before for lunch; that was fine then and fun for the children, but the dinner was a disappointment.

Very rundown place. Everything in the kids corner and outside plaground is broken, torn, dirty and/or overtaken by weeds. Average food and expensive prices but hospitable staff.

Tasty food, good value for money, and a wide selection. There is also plenty of choice for children. This restaurant is very child-oriented, with a play attic upstairs and a beautiful playground outside. So, if you do not have children yourself and it is busy, it can be very noisy.

There is also a small park outside for the kids to play in.

We ate a pancake with raisins soaked in rum. It wasn't fully cooked and the raisins weren't soaked very well in the rum. After we paid the bill, an employee ran outside after us and demanded that we pay an extra €0.75 because raisins soaked in rum turned out to be two toppings. We didn't feel like getting into a long discussion, but I believe this is just one topping. It's a bit crazy and embarrassing to have to run after customers over this. The €0.75 doesn't bother me, but on top of that, it's not right.

We had lunch here with our family yesterday. The food was fine and we had no complaints about it. However, there were a few points for improvement. I had reserved a table for a large group well in advance. Coincidentally, my brother was also celebrating a party at the restaurant that same day under the same surname. We had initially wanted to have lunch only with our own family, but the staff seemed to think there was a family feud because we had a separate reservation with the same surname. That was absolutely not the case; it was simply the schedule for the day. Instead of asking us exactly what the situation was regarding the reservation, the restaurant made a wrong assumption. Additionally, we found it striking that nothing was ready for our reservation upon arrival. The table and chairs still had to be set up, even though the reservation had been known for a long time. The hygiene also left something to be desired. The toilets were already dirty early in the day and there was a strong smell from the baby diaper bin. Additionally, the children's play area was messy, not clean, and very hot. All in all, the food was good, but there is certainly room for improvement in terms of preparation, hygiene, and play space.

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and had a good meal. The service was also friendly. We did find it a bit on the pricey side here and there. It just feels strange to pay 1.50, for example, if you want cinnamon on your pancake. There was also no syrup on the table, for instance. I would say that cinnamon, or at least syrup, should simply be available for free at every table, like I see at most pancake houses.

We found it to be very good. The service was perfect and the food was delicious. Definitely worth coming back for. Even the kids had a great time. They thought the tokens were amazing.

I thought it was really bad. My son went to Bruis for his 5th birthday; he threw up from the pancake he was supposed to decorate himself, and we had to pay the price. Really bad.

We were here for the first time yesterday; what lovely ladies work there and what good, fast service! Worth repeating!

We had lunch here. It's a really nice place to go with children when the weather is good. Pleasant atmosphere, and the food and service were fine. The only downside I found was that the children's play area upstairs was very grubby. A shame; with regular cleaning, it would make for such a different experience.

Terrible service; the restaurant is very dirty, with food left out for a long time and not cleared away unless you ask for it multiple times. Additionally, the children's play area is unsafe; nails are sticking out near the slide and the floor is too slippery, causing several children to slip repeatedly. Furthermore, it smelled strongly of rotting food.

We were able to enjoy a pleasant meal because our 5-year-old granddaughter was having a great time in the indoor and outdoor play areas.

Extremely expensive for what you get in return

What a lovely high tea and high lemonade we had. The kids had a great time in the playground outside and inside. Afterwards, we sat outside in the sunshine on the cozy terrace for a while. They could have asked a bit more often if we needed anything else. Otherwise, we had a great afternoon!

We purchased a voucher for unlimited pancakes via Social Deal, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The pancakes were very thick, making it difficult to eat more than one, which somewhat undermines the concept of "unlimited." Additionally, we found it unfortunate that there was a fuss made when the children (10 and 11 years old) wanted to go to the toilet independently. That did not create a welcoming feeling. We had made a reservation for 9 people and indicated in advance that it was a birthday party. It would have been nice if something had been done to accommodate this, such as a small gift for the birthday child or some table decorations. Unfortunately, there was no special attention paid to this, and the atmosphere was lacking to make it a truly festive occasion. All in all, a disappointing experience. We hope this can be improved in the future.

Bruis Blaricum is very suitable for families with small children. Our toddlers and preschoolers were not bored.

LOVELY place for people with or without kids, the indoor kids play area is upstairs, so people without kids don't have to be worried about being bothered by kids too much. There is also a small park outside for the kids to play in.

We had a wonderful Easter brunch yesterday! It was very well organized, and the food was delicious. The kids were also well looked after, with a separate children's plate and fun entertainment (on the first floor, so it didn't turn into a screaming palace downstairs in the restaurant).

Had another delicious meal; had the pannenpouce (not a crompouce or tompouce) on Pancake Day, so much fun and delicious! Lovely people, a great atmosphere, and of course, tasty wines. Hats off to Bruis! And Stan in the kitchen is a real asset again. I look forward to the next time.

I arrived yesterday, March 11, 2026, with 5 adults, 1 child, and a toddler (one and a half years old). My daughter-in-law had bought vouchers via Social Deal for unlimited pancakes. It was also the birthday celebration of my granddaughter, who had turned 4 years old. When I heard that we were going to a family restaurant, I thought: "Fine, that is a suitable location for children." Upon entering, things were already far from welcoming; a grumpy female employee of about 30+ approached us and started a conversation with my daughter-in-law, to which I then clearly audibly replied that she could speak and act a bit friendlier (surely she has never heard of hospitality). Additionally, I had ordered satay—the only exception. I specifically asked when placing the order if the satay was made from chicken breast and not chicken thighs, which I don't like! The answer was yes, made from chicken breast. When I took my first bite of the satay, I could already taste it in the meat; it was chicken thigh meat! After that, I cut open the meat on every piece. What did I discover? They had mixed it: one piece of chicken breast and the rest chicken thighs on every skewer! You don't have to be a butcher to see and taste the difference between the two! Another issue: when making the reservation, we were asked if a specially made birthday cake could be brought along. Permission was granted, on the condition that 1.50 per person would be charged for the cake plates plus forks. To top it all off, when the remaining Social Deal vouchers had literally vanished from my daughter-in-law's app, the same unfriendly and grumpy employee snatched the phone right out of her hands and screamed in her ears! The atmosphere and ambiance were anything but a family restaurant, and certainly not child-friendly! The only thing that was child-friendly was the other two very young female employees who brought the cake with the lit candle, and we saw how genuinely, from the bottom of their hearts, they were happy that a child was having a birthday! Another experience richer and a tip for customer retention and thus revenue retention#name: A company or restaurant can participate in SocialDeal or Vakantieveilingen promotions for two reasons: A. For more brand awareness (and thus customers/guests) or B. Out of financial necessity, in the hope of generating more revenue with specific promotions. What people forget is what hospitality entails: Hospitality and honesty about the food served! We are never coming here again, the 1st and the last time!

We've been coming to Bruis regularly for years, and for us, it's always been delicious food, great drinks, and relaxed children. This time, unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Guests before us had been having drinks upstairs in the children's area, and the table with all the glasses and bottles was still there, including the remains of beer and wine from which playing children were drinking. This should NEVER have been allowed; we reported it, and it wasn't addressed until minutes later. The food itself; normally a treat, but today the chef was clearly having an off day. The pancakes were greasy and pale; according to our toddler, "not tasty," and I agreed, while my oldest thought they were "okay with a lot of sugar." 🙈 My husband's shrimp burger was returned half-eaten; tasteless, undercooked, and looked sad. The wrong dish was delivered (which happens), quickly corrected, and unfortunately, it was so bad that it, too, remained largely untouched. We received a small discount, but since I ended up in bed with food poisoning, we won't be back anytime soon. Hopefully, they'll find a good chef soon who can restore Bruis to the wonderful place it once was.

It's okay, but we received dirty glasses with lipstick on them... They had already poured juice, which we had to throw away immediately. A full carafe of drinks was refilled for free. With the Social Deal, the toppings are meager, and you have to pay extra. There's a nice play area upstairs for the little ones... not much for 10+ year olds to do.

We've been here before, and after previous visits, we couldn't recall the seats being so narrow. The waitstaff could barely get past. But otherwise, the food was delicious.

The "large" salad was quite small. The food was good, as was the orange juice. The service seemed a bit rushed. Otherwise, the restaurant was quiet (on a weekday).

Disinterested service, who don't approach you but remain seated on a stool at the bar. They don't even greet you with a "May I help you?" expression. Orders are taken with a bored expression. The pancake was good, but the Caesar salad was mediocre, lacking flavor, and too much lettuce.

On Boxing Day, we enjoyed a delicious buffet here with six adults and two little ones. Extra meals were prepared for one vegetarian guest. The little ones had fun in the playroom upstairs. The service was excellent; a drink accident on their coat was promptly reimbursed, and the children could choose a gift at the farewell. We'd love to come back! Definitely recommended for next year!

We went with our kids, aged 1.5 and 4.5. We sat upstairs near the slides, which was nice, but the safety measures weren't there. We had to have taken our shoes off downstairs; we didn't see a shoe rack or anything to put them on. Upstairs, you can push the door, which my 1.5-year-old could naturally pull open, but it's missing a lock or something to make it harder to open. Upstairs, you can order food and drinks with a QR code, which is very handy. The kids can play on the slide, build blocks, play foosball, and watch TV. I saw online that there were also three play areas. Those aren't there, and I'm missing some toys for the little ones. There's no handrail by the slide, so I have to be careful when the little one is on it; it's fine for older children. The floor is incredibly dirty with food scraps everywhere, which is a bit of a shame, since I'm not wearing shoes, of course.

Always a good time and good food!

Last weekend we dined at Restaurant Bruis with our two children. It was a very disappointing experience. The cheese fondue turned out to be from Lidl (€3.50 for two) and was clearly made from canned goods. The service was poor: staff didn't come around, requests for drinks were ignored, while several colleagues stood at the bar, mainly chatting with each other. The restrooms were dirty, and even after reporting this, nothing was done about it. The play area was unkempt and dilapidated. The manager seemed disinterested. The only positive note was one employee with brown and curly hair who actually took her job seriously. Nice concept, poor execution. We won't be back.

Beautiful location and plenty of room to play. Nice lunch menu with plenty of options. But very poor service. The boys were friendly. For the girl on the terrace, every question was too much. No service or (child) friendliness whatsoever. The table wasn't cleared. It wasn't busy at all, so that wasn't the problem. Despite the beautiful location, I won't be going back. I'd also like to add that a day later, my son broke his wrist above his fall from the slide. His foot got caught in the strange groove in the slide and fell down. With a lot of effort, we got an ice pack, but otherwise, we received no help or understanding. (A day later, because they didn't see a fracture in the ER.) I'll never go back.

We were here for Easter brunch, and it wasn't our first time. It's a great place, and the quality and service keep improving! Very friendly service and good, varied food; highly recommended!

Shockingly poor quality pancakes. Thick, undercooked. Even the kids wouldn't finish them. And then €7.50 for 750cc of tap water! One star for poor value...

We thought the pancakes were way too thick. It made them very rich and, in our opinion, not any more appetizing. Of course, children insist on a decorated pancake, so I would choose the ingredients differently. The children had a great time and played happily, it was a beautiful location.

I went with two children and three adults. It was a nice idea that the kids could play upstairs, but I thought it looked shabby. The cushions on one of the slides had been removed, giving it a desolate look. The tables and chairs were also far from inviting. I thought everything looked very worn. The stairs, the swing gate, the whole impression. It could be improved so much with colors, etc. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive!

I've been there three times to use my children's vouchers, and all three times the staff wasn't very friendly. The food also arrived very late. It's a place I don't think I'll go back to.

Quick and helpful Service. Good Food and a nice space where kids can be kids. They can run around the Restaurant, be noisy, it does not matter. All it's good. There is a big outside area to play and inside the Restaurant there is another area with different options to play. My kid loves that she gets coins when ordering the Kids menu and can choose a toy using them.

We had a wonderful meal at Bruis Blaricum. The carpaccio, €14.25, was fantastic, perfectly seasoned with truffle mayonnaise, a delicious seed mix, capers, arugula, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. The service was friendly and good, although it was a bit busy. The atmosphere and interior are beautiful, creating a cozy and stylish experience. Considering the high quality of the food, the prices are also very reasonable. Definitely recommended.

We had a drink at your terrace this afternoon. It was averagely busy, but the service was downright terrible. A woman saw us (raised my hand, as she saw) but turned her head and walked away. A truly relaxing spot in a lovely neighborhood. It's also great if you have kids, thanks to the outdoor playground and upstairs play area. The food is delicious, and the staff is great!

I drove all the way there to have pancakes with the kids, but I've had better ones closer to home. The interior looks very nice. They have a menu with everything, so there's plenty of choice for those who don't want pancakes.

This place needs updating. The children's area is filthy. The toys are broken, and the "cinema" consists of a TV that doesn't work and two benches with large holes in them, making them unsuitable for sitting. The waitress (who is the manager) is completely unsympathetic to dietary needs and treats you like a fool when it comes to allergies. Fortunately, the younger staff understood us and were very friendly.

No children's pancakes, strange, isn't it? Vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-free pancakes cost €3 extra. A pancake costs around €18, so €21 for gluten-free. These pancakes are also much thinner than regular pancakes. I haven't had to pay extra for anything, for example, lactose-free pancakes.

The restaurant is fine for the neighborhood, but there's definitely room for improvement. The patio furniture is outdated and looks cheap – the faded orange chairs and the general furnishings could use a refresh. The outdoor area for the staff, which guests walk past, also looks cluttered. Smoking and eating in full view of customers is not very inviting. The food is okay, the menu isn't very extensive, but given the prices, you'd expect a little more attention to ambiance and appearance. If more attention were paid to the decor, the overall experience would be more in line with the price. Currently, it feels a bit outdated, and little has been updated.

The food was fine, nothing special, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, it looked a bit dated. The children's restroom was dark, there was no soap, and the light switch was broken and covered with duct tape. I informed the manager, who sent an email to management. I wouldn't go back.

Very nice service. The food isn't great, but for such a beautiful location, it could be better. The chicken satay had way too much fat and seemed pre-cooked. The spare ribs were dry and lacked flavor. But again, very nice service, but please raise that level.

I don't complain easily, and for a place geared towards children, my expectations are generally quite low, but even those weren't met by a long shot. - My 8-year-old enjoyed it, although the advertised water show consisted of just one sprinkler. - My 13-year-old didn't have much to do, and he complained about the playground's maintenance (the trampolines were missing many springs, and the depth of the pit underneath wasn't designed for his weight). - For parents, there's nothing but a noisy patio and food that would embarrass a fast-food chain. The burger was still partially raw and tasteless, the lettuce was clearly just for show and had no dressing. The only thing we were all reasonably satisfied with was dessert. We won't be going back.

Delicious food, friendly staff, and very accommodating to dietary requirements! There's an extensive allergen menu available, which you don't even need to ask about if you specify it when booking. The food was delicious. Lots of flavor and not too greasy. The desserts were also very good. The menu offers many options, and they're happy to accommodate allergens. The location is also very nice. Plenty of seating and plenty of space.

Took a long time for the food to be taken, food was lukewarm

Pancakes were way too thick, and the toys and playground were very outdated. The service wasn't great; they were just doing their thing. Staff were on their laptops even though the place was empty. You'd think the service would be friendly and fast, but it wasn't. Furthermore, a children's pancake was over €10. We paid €65 for three people, and one of them was a one-year-old.

Pancakes are unfortunately cold when they are served, according to the staff that is how it should be. They are also small and flat. Better to bake them yourself. Uitsmijter is good. Croquettes good. Coffee fine. 5 delicacies with coffee not special. Piece of cake and chocolate were tasty. Not cheap these days, like many restaurants. Large parasols outside. Great terrace and seating.

Unfortunately not a good experience with Bruis. As previous reviews already indicated, the arrival is far from inviting. The entrance along a shed where staff is smoking with bulging ashtrays, broken advertising signs, etc. Food and service; the quality of the dishes absolutely does not correspond to the price. Satay with raw fries, tough kroepoek a mountain of atjar to fill the plate, tasteless side dish without dressing. I reported this and nothing further was done about it. Service understaffed. Not recommended.

Were there with a large group to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary with a lunch. It went very smoothly, really great how they took the orders and that it was served to everyone at the same time!

Nice restaurant with a fun play loft and playground, very child-friendly

The atmosphere is great, I find the play piece upstairs disappointing (additions of toy diversity would be nice). Outside is great. Service was fine, too bad the menu was wrong and the 6.0 beer turned out to be a 0.0. She also didn't know what was on the changing tap, which made it take a bit longer because of the walking back and forth, which she didn't seem to really like. Food was very tasty, pancakes were thick and tough but the children ate them up. The spare ribs were tasty and tender, just like my husband's stew. Effervescence is no longer what it used to be. Sad condition, many things are no longer beautiful or neat, the same applies to the play attic. The welcome sign outside is broken and ugly: not a nice or neat welcome. The asparagus soup was super hot, no asparagus to be found. Salmon was very dry and potatoes with vegetables were overcooked to such an extent that all the color and texture of the vegetables was gone. Sparse plate for a fixed price. No normal tea in the range (Ceylon or English tea). Last time I've been here. Friendly staff.

Children liked it because they could play. But unfortunately we were not really helped, we had to walk to the bar ourselves to order something to drink. The place was anything but full so there was no real reason to do so. The hamburger I had was also not tasty. The meat was well done, but the cheese was not melted and the bacon was uncooked and very dirty. Pancakes were fine.

Went with Social Deal on 30-04-2025. It was a mess there. Had to wait 45 minutes for a pancake. Tables not cleared, complaining customers who were compensated with free drinks. The toilets were dirty and full of bins. These people clearly couldn't handle running a restaurant. The pancakes weren't tasty either. When I went to complain I heard the cook say scornfully. Wasn't that pancake natural enough? The pancake was thin and crispy on the sides. I didn't eat it. Never eating there again, what a disappointment. Compensated with free drinks.
